Opinion: Ruto fears Odinga, and it is evident as he discredit the Handshake!

We knew there would be ramifications of the Handshake between Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, which changed the whole narrative. At the time of the handshake, the winner seemed actually to be William Ruto, the Deputy President. It seemed like he would be the natural winner, as the default subject would led him into the 2022 without a scratch.

Now, that the time is going and Odinga are involving himself in the government policy, as well as his rising prominence within the government is evident. The Ruto Camp and allies are afraid of the push it has. As the Jubilee are supposed to be all supreme and doesn’t need guidance from an outside source. They are just working with development and not doing politics, which is their first tool in the shed. Now, Ruto is turning on Odinga and the ODM. He must do it, because he is afraid and needs to show flex. Because why else should he discredit the Handshake, that created peace and also stopped the turmoil and uncertainty that was in the air after the Swearing-In of Odinga before that. Take a look at what he said!

““The handshake is not a licence for you to bring confusion, propaganda and conmnaship into our party. If they have come to divide Jubilee and the government, we are telling them that we are alert and we know (what you are up to),” he said. He added: “You lied during Kanu, Cord and Nasa days but we are telling you that there is no space for your lies in Jubilee. There is a big reduction of stupid people now as we know. We are very clear about where we are going. “We are committed to the unity of Kenya and its leaders but what we will not entertain and what we do not want, and what is not going to happen, is for you to export confusion, propaganda and conmanship into our party. We will not allow it.” – William Ruto on the 30th September 2018 (Mohamed Ahmed – ‘Raila exploiting handshake, plotting against me: Ruto’ 30.09.2018, link: https://mobile.nation.co.ke/news/politics/Raila-plotting-Jubilee-downfall—Ruto/3126390-4784618-rojk7az/index.html).

It is like he is so afraid and has to warn ODM and NASA, meaning warning Odinga now. That they are not stupid people within Jubilee, they are not in it for the outside pressure and the games from him. They are not allowing Odinga to interfere or express his lies of how the Jubilee operate. However, this only makes Ruto looks afraid and worried about the capacity Odinga has at the moment. Not that I am in favor of what the Handshake did, but the de-legitimatizing it. That isn’t a good sign for the days ahead.

He speaks of unity, but he is speaking ill of his allies. Odinga is an ally, which gave Jubilee space with the Building Bridges Initiative. If it wasn’t for that, the second term of Jubilee would been so much more hectic, as they paid off Odinga for a honorable position, which still to this day isn’t written in stone, but is there in the atmosphere. That is why Ruto is warning, because he cannot control Odinga. Who knows how Kenyatta feels, but he knows he dropped enough carrots to feed Odinga. That is why there haven’t been anything else than loyalty from Odinga.

We can wonder why Ruto is so afraid of Odinga, but his words is not a sign of strength, but of mere weakness. Peace.

Nkurunziza’s Regime suspends CSOs/NGOs, while promoting tolerance at UNGA!

the spirit of tolerance, honesty and openness of the political space is growing stronger in Burundi” – Foreign Minister Ezekiel Nibigira at UNGA on the 28th September 2018

It is hard to take the words of Foreign Minister Nibirgira from the Republic of Burundi. As the regime under Pierre Nkurunziza are more and more hostile to the Civil Society Organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations in the Republic, as they have sanctioned all the suspended activity for three months for over a 100 organizations, plus seizing their accounts and challenging them to a meeting on the 1st October 2018. This is all being done, while the United Nations General Assembly is happening and the state wants to be taken of the UN Security Council program.

Well, when you are challenging the CSOs and NGOs, which brings in the foreign currency and also development projects, that the state doesn’t touch. At the same time, these acts as buffers and questions the regime. They report and monitor their operations in the climate that Nkurunziza and his party provides. By all means, these reports and their memo’s well be released abroad. That is something the Burundian government cannot control, just as they are putting in new laws, saying what ethnic group they can hire and what sort of activity they can do. This isn’t an open or transparent society, when the state are telling who can be hired and who cannot. That is a simple fact. When the ethnic backdrop of any sort of hire, you know that the state are going into a dangerous territory. That is a place where the football playing and so-called born-again dictator has gone too.

So, when the Foreign Minister is claiming this, that there is growing space, it is really shrinking. As the state is going into other alleys to control it. Making sure the society are following the guidelines of the President and his party CNDD-FDD. Therefore, the Burundian government if they would make the world believe in a growing tolerance. They shouldn’t order how the CSOs and NGOs are operating and hiring. Unless, they want to cease all their operations.

There have already been suspension of operation from organizations like Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), CARE and about another 100 CSOs/NGOs. Clearly, the government is not that open and want to cease control of all parts of the Republic. Not leaving anything to circumstance, as the new law was effective from the 1st January 2018.

That is why the Foreign Minister and the Nkurunziza administration knows what they are doing. Therefore, the speech at UNGA doesn’t overshadow the facts. That the window of free spaces are just closing in, at any way possible. There is no signs of anything else, as the laws and the actions of the government are really showing scaring activity. Where the suspension of the CSOs/NGOs is just another act of oppression from the President and his party. Peace.

Bosco, it isn’t UTB fault Tourists sway away, its yours actually!

If it was a different world, the Republic of Uganda could have been a haven for tourists and tourism. Where the wealth could have been generated and also shown the magnificent republic, which it is. It being the beautiful Kabale, the green valleys of Ibanda, the National Parks, the historical town of Jinja or bursting bubble of Capital City of Kampala. That is just for starters. However, the ruining this image isn’t Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), that is what the National Resistance Movement has done with the use of the army to quell riots, to meet opposition politicians and even lack of possible political associations without being arrested. This are the memo’s that get to the tourists.

They know that insecurity, the extra-judicial killings and the lack of trust between the state and its citizens are getting the world on worry. That scares away citizens, as well as the hardships against the Forum for Democratic Change and their Defiance Campaign, while now also using the army every time Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine. These sort of activity will not make the Republic more marketable. As people are worried if these sort of activity will interfering in their vacation hot-spots and make their peaceful existence turned into a war-zone with road-blocks, soldiers on posts and possible police brutality as they visit Mengo or even The Square in Kampala.

The president said Uganda has a lot of potential from its natural resources but there is a general lack of efficient marketing which falls directly under UTB. “The UTB has not been doing a good job, I don’t know why. You find other countries Which have nothing to show, attracting more tourists. Therefore, that area of promotion is still weak. If you hired me as promoter for just six months you will see the results,” he said. “The UTB and our embassies should market our country’s uniqueness. We must work towards increasing the numbers of tourists visiting Uganda from the current two million annually,” he added” (Nelson Bwire Kapo – ‘Uganda Tourism Board doing a bad job at promoting Uganda- Museveni’ (30.09.2018, link: http://nilepost.co.ug/2018/09/30/uganda-tourism-board-doing-a-bad-job-at-promoting-uganda-museveni/).

If the President and Bosco wanted it to be great tourist destination, why has the roads and the transport infrastructure been not invested properly in, as these projects are big borrowing operations, where the money has gone into cronies pockets instead of road-quality. Neither has there been well thought of planning of transport between the regions or towns. As there is hectic ways of traveling for the ones who doesn’t know or cannot afford to use specials across the Republic. Therefore, the expensive transport across from Entebbe to a National Park is huge cost for anyone. It doesn’t help with posters by Clear Channel across Europe, if it cost a dozens of bobs to travel and plan to do so.

The UTB is not in-charge of insecurity and the state of affairs. It is not their campaigns or their motivations fault for the situation on the ground. That is all Bosco, as he is the head and has run the Nation for so long. He should take charge and take blame. That would be new for him, because he always blames and says other people are not doing their job.

First. Generate trust abroad, than the people might come. If they know its safe and reads more positive stories. But the tourists will not come there, if the Entebbe International Airport is known for being the place, where the opposition leaders are arrested and detained after arriving. That is what the world knows now. Bosco has ordered this and his trying to destroy opposition is known. The torture and the preventative arrests is known. That is why people fear Uganda. They know that Bosco is a vindictive President, without any other cause, than promoting himself.

That is why this isn’t UTB fault. It is the NRM and Bosco’s fault, who has played this all wrong. He has neither made it easier to be tourist or gained their trust. That is why they pick other destinations like Botswana or Kenya for similar activity and safaris. Peace.

Opinion: Mbidde hopes people are so forgetful!

The folding his hands like “birdman” is Mbidde on the NRM Celebration of their 31st year in Masindi (January 2017).

This is not a written defense of Abed Bwanika, I have always found his ways weird and suspicious, as he turns up to Presidential Elections for a non-existent party, which amount of members and representatives are not really rewarding any politician who has been part of it for so long. If he was serious about it and had a plan, he wouldn’t walk around like he is hungry everyday and do what he does.

However, he moves in all sorts of circles, even joined the Democratic Party Reunion in Masaka on the 28th September 2018. Where many opposition leaders from various parties showed up in solidarity for the DP Party.

While that was happening, Fred Mukasa Mbidde have really spread the word and called Bwanika a Bosco mole in the opposition yesterday. As he claims Bwanika does his bidding and his works to participate and report to Bosco. That wouldn’t surprise anyone.

But, Mbidde shouldn’t speak so loud, as he did whatever he could to please Bosco in 2017, as he couldn’t win inside the DP or in the Masaka Municipality MP elections in 2016, as Mathias Mpuuga won over him. Mbidde have even threaten him too and promised to challenge him again in 2021. That is maybe why he is vocal now, to act out to have a place possibly by then.

However, people shouldn’t trust Mbidde, he would marry the enemy if that fits his narrative and his needs. As he even kicked it at the 31st Celebration of the National Resistance Movement in Masindi on the 26th January 2017. That was done so he showed Bosco loyalty. Just so he could be on the ticket for the Ugandan delegation to the 3rd Assembly of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

With the knowledge of that, as he himself has a cozy relationship with the NRM and Bosco. That for his own need of a meal-ticket. Because Mbidde wouldn’t have the EALA spot if he wasn’t a “Good DP”. Therefore, he shouldn’t be the first to throw a stone at Bwanika. Yest, Bwanika is a character that is hard to trust, because of his activity and his sudden rise, whenever it is needed. But is gone in the wind, the next movement.

Mbidde might be true, but people have the right to ask about him too, as Mbidde has done deals all the way back to 2010 for Norbert Mao with the NRM. Therefore, the reason for him being the “Good DP”. He should maybe not be the biggest voices of moles, as he has questionable relationship with ruling regime and Bosco. As he has made deals to twice be parts of the EALA in Arusha. Peace.
