Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF): EFF Calls for the Dismissal of the African Union Commission Chairperson (28.07.2021)

Opinion: Faki Mahamat’s “My Vision” is just rubbish…

The Chairperson of the African Union, Moussa Faki Mahamat is seeking a second term. Today on the 24th January 2021 he dropped a puff piece called “My Vision”. The man must think we haven’t seen him in action or the African Union (AU) in the recent years. How its silent on the things that matters, the conflicts, the human rights violations and how it shields the dictators, tyrants and warlords of continent.

It is just like the Chairperson doesn’t think we have seen what’s going on and if we’re just supposed to look the other way. The “My Vision” from him would be a nice piece, if this was his promise out of the gate. However, this is promise for a second term, which isn’t going to cut it. I’m not buying it.

As Faki Mahamat states: “Enhancing early warning, prevention, promoting African mediation, while reaffirming the principle of African solution to African problems that respect democratic principles and human rights should be, among others, the instruments of this priority” (…) “The ambition of a prosperous Africa must never be forgotten as an essential condition for our priority to silence the guns. I refuse the erroneous label that often portrays our beautiful and diverse Continent as cursed to remain undeveloped for its people” (Faki Mahamat, 24.01.2021).

He also says: “At the top of these themes lies the issue of Constitutionalism and the Rule of law is. Many serious political crises result from questionable attitudes towards the very foundations of our States. Disrespect for our Constitutionalism is a recurrent determining factor of our crises. We can no longer remain silent on this issue. It is not a matter of questioning the value of the fundamental principle of the free choice of each people, of each State, to adopt its own Constitutional system. It is a matter of strengthening the advocacy for Member States to respect such choices once they are adopted and become the basis of power and its peaceful devolution in any Member State of our Organisation” (Faki Mahamat, 24.01.2021).

I’m just taking these two passages, but it says it all about his deviousness. That he doesn’t compose himself and thinks sloganeering is enough. The chairperson should be a man the continent trust and have faith in. A man who would high regard and that is why write stuff like this ahead of his campaign. However, the chairperson knows what has happened in his first tenure.

Not like the Chairperson has been sincere or have helped with African solutions to African problems. I wish he had showed it and added pressure to ensure a resolve of the conflicts and crises on the continent. Nevertheless, the Chairperson is more silent and addresses it late. If he involves himself. He awaits okay signs and getting authorizations to be a participant.

That is why the African Union and the Chairperson have been a shield and a safeguard for the warlords and the dictators. As the AU Chairperson is there more to ensure the Head of State is legitimized and staying in power. That is why it’s hard time seeing him writing about Constitutionalism. As his AU Observers Missions are positive and rubber-stamping operations to vouch for the incumbents of Member States. That is why he thinks we are blind and not seeing what the AU does.

Moussa Faki Mahamat must think people are stupid. Like he suddenly become a genuine character and not a friendly face for dictators. However, this man will only writes these words now. A nice puff piece for himself. Though we should know that’s its all nonsense and he won’t carry the weight. Peace.

Opinion: Francafrique is alive, as Paris axe Arikana Chihombori Quao!

Arikana Chihombori Quao, the African Union Ambassador to the United States, which was terminated on the 7th October 2019 after her open criticism of the Western Powers hold of the African Nation.

She’s been vocal and righteously so against the French hold of the former African colonies it has agreements with, military, monetary and direct trade enriching itself on the spoils of the African continent. Which is all true, that is why all the big-men from the previous colonies are favourable and steady visiting Paris and meeting the heads of state there. That is why, the interests of Paris comes before the needs of the citizens of the respective Republics. They are all Francafrique doing.

That is why Emmanuel Macron has no issues boosting dictators, standing by autocrats who secure the monetary gains of the Central African Francs (CFA). This is boosting the Reserves of France, they are earning on the printing and monetizing the currencies of these Republics. They are all in the hands of the French, controlling and monitoring the monetary policies and the economic policies made in the respective republics. This is how to keep the governments, either by the hook or by the crook.

Secondly, they are also kept by a military pact and a resource sharing agreements, which means the extraction industry of the French gets first deals, if it is Total or anything else. Will get a first rights to extract or be able to trade commodities. That is why you see in former North African Republic, which was colonizes you see Renaults, Citroen’s and so-on. You are not seeing so many American or British cars there, but French produced cars in abundant. That is because, the French still has a foothold and advantages, which the Republic have to abide too.

Therefore, what the axed and sacked AU Ambassador to US said about the French is true. It maybe hurt the pride of the French. But you don’t need to say anything substantial to hurt their pride. You can just dismiss their champagne and they will cry havoc. In addition, the French know they need Francafrique and they would miss out important market, funds and resources, which it cannot live without. The banks, the industries and military would suffer a hit. The French will not say this, but the reason for axing shows this.

The French is weak, the French isn’t as great or has the power to flex without its state under passive control through the measures of the CFA and other Post-Colonial agreements made with Big-Men in the Francafrique. That is just the way it is and because someone with a title said it. It had to be silenced.

However, if the French didn’t want it undressed or questioned their role on the continent. They should have maybe answered it with words or numbers. Instead, they are verifying her words by axing her and pushing the Chairman of AU to get rid of her. Peace.

African Union Chairperson Mahamat: Is he flipping a coin to see if a military coup is okay?

To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead.”Thomas Paine

I don’t know, the former Chadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Moussa Faki Mahamat, whose the African Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union. However, he has a rare strike of confidence. Surely after today, he should explain himself. Not because I am directly against the man, but because his perspective on the military takeover, coup d’etat in Zimbabwe in 2017 and Sudan in 2019. Is strikingly similar, but his response is differing.

Both was actions done against 30 years of rule by one person in each republic. The African Union have supported their reign and never imposed anything on the member nations. However, today the revolution of Sudan is put in another pile, than what happen in Zimbabwe. We can see how the Chairperson of the AU is acting differently. In a manner, where his vision doesn’t coincide.

Just take a look!

The African Union recognizes that the Zimbabwean people have expressed their will that there should be a peaceful transfer of power in a manner that secures the democratic future of their country. President Mugabe’s decision to resign paves the way for a transition process, owned and led by the sovereign people of Zimbabwe” (African Union – ‘Statement of the Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union on the Situation in Zimbabwe’ 21.11.2017).

The Chairperson expresses the African Union conviction that the military take-over is not the appropriate response to the challenges facing Sudan and the aspirations of its people” (African Union – ‘Statement of the Chairperson of the Commission on the Situation in Sudan’ 11.04.2019).

I don’t know if there is deep grudges between Mahamat and General Awad Mohamed Ahmed Ihn Ouf of Sudan or there are was a friendly relationship between Mahamat and General Constantino Chiwenga of Zimbabwe.

Because, his tone is vastly different. Both these men did similar fashion to take power. The Coup that wasn’t Coup in Harare in November 2017. While the Coup, that is currently a State of Emergency in Sudan. They are viewed differently by the African Union and their Chairperson. That is showing with the use of words and the protocol that the AU is sending the Republic’s way.

The Zimbabwean new leadership got a friendlier tone, as they used the military and installed new transitional government in 2017. While the Sudanese are getting a more hostile tone for starting to have a Military Transitional Council for two years before elections. This is done in the same fashion and with use of power by the same party as of the deposed leaders in both Republics.

The Sudanese are getting rid of Al-Bashir and starts a transitional phase by the same leadership. While the Zimbabwean did the same in 2017 and had a transitional government until the elections of 2018. Alas, it was okay in Harare, the AU had no trouble with the military intervention or at disposal in Zimbabwe. But the same Union are not impressed by what Ahmed Ihn Ouf done in Khartoum today. Still, it was fine just mere two years ago?

I don’t like a bloodless coup, its good every time a dictator and a tyrant has fallen, but the whole system has to re-invented and also restructured for a civilian rule of some kind. Not a government run by the army. Then the votes, the ballots and the will of the people will not be respected. That is why the change in Khartoum right now is only skin-deep.

The same, which happen in Harare, where the same fashion of ZANU-PF continues to linger on. There was only a change of head, but not of their operations nor their way of expression power. The same is trying to appear in Khartoum. Surely, the NCP will not let go easily. Even if the public continues to demonstrate. They will do whatever it takes to prolong their rule.

That is why, the AU could have been a useful tool, but this is usually the Dictators Club in Addis Ababa. That is why, their statements is not believable. Nevertheless, in this regard, their statement can be questioned, because of how vastly different it was comparing similar efforts in two different countries. That from the same Mahamat, whose seen both things occur within his time in the chair.

There are contrasts and difference in how these two military coup d’etat have appeared, as they happen in realms, which is not to similar in fashion. Even if both was bolstered by the army and needed their blessing to rule. Still, the Mugabe and the Al-Bashir reign ended abruptly by the force of the soldiers, who kept them in power for so long.

Now, the dictator club of Addis lost one more member and surely, will soon get a new face. Wonder, if Mahamat is ready to explain, why he accept the incident in Harare, but questioned the one in Khartoum? Peace.
