Opinion: The FDC needs a miracle…

This year has been horrific in regards to the political party of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC). The FDC as we know it died during this year. The leadership of Nathan Nandala-Mafabi and Patrick Oboi Amuriat hit the final nail in the coffin. There is little to nothing left of it.

The one time aspiring party and the ones who fought against the dictatorship in Uganda. Was lost and the leadership is rudderless. It is just tragic to see such a powerhouse fail so miserably. The FDC deserved better, but internally it killed itself. A mission that was suicidal and there been points of no return. The leadership even turned against the biggest inspiration and the leader of old, Besigye.

When the FDC leadership turned against Dr. Kizza Besigye. That’s when you know the party was over. It was dusted and left to rot. The party wasn’t what it was and who it seemed to be. No, it had become something else and we couldn’t recognize it.

Time might heal all wounds… but in regards to FDC. The ones leading it now… they should just have the wake and seal its fate. Because, there aren’t much to save.

I cannot see a revival of the party, unless they make real amends with the FDC Katonga branch. The ones part of that is the ones that inspires, the ones that fights and the ones who defies the government. POA knows this, because he came from there and was moulded there. However, he has disconnected from it and disassociated it with the party. That’s why you know there are no bridges to be built.

Unless, there is a will and the FDC leadership gets to its sense. If the FDC leadership see what we all see and accepts its faults. However, POA and Mafabi doesn’t seem like that and they disregard the ones they have called out. Even put several of the members of the other branch into disciplinary hearings and possibly revoke their membership. Meaning throwing them out of the party and render their roles useless.

That’s why we know the current state of the FDC is a quagmire. There is little hope of salvation or redemption. This party is in the grave and needs a biblical miracle to get a second life. It is soon a relic of the past. The ones that built the party and stood by it… should be ashamed of the ones leading it today. Because, they took a party of strength and resilience, and sold it out for a little bit of silver.

It is just insane that we are here. 2023 was a devastating blow to the FDC. 2024 won’t fare much better. Unless, one of the leaders gets a moment of clarity. If doing so… they might have to humble themselves and even step down from their role. However, we know that won’t happen and they won’t face the music. The others have to dance, but they are the DJs deciding the tunes.

This won’t end well. It is already a party that is over and at one point it never seemed to end. Peace.

The army commanders and the ones taking power by force. They are forgetting one thing… their honeymoons and their transitional stages cannot last forever. The soldiers and the ones within their ranks are waiting their turn. They are seeing how the putschists are eating and they also want a plate.

Sooner or later… it will be their turn. That’s why junta government doesn’t last. Most of them fall rather quick or loose total control. The centre is fragile and only strength is the trust between army commanders. Army commanders that are now corrupted and high on power. They have gone from being people who defend the borders and kills terrorists. To suddenly ensure civilian authorities, government tenders and whatnot. Which gives them endless opportunities to get a cut.

They quickly forget how they got there. The ones who take power promises heaven on earth. There will be democratic institutions, free and fair elections and everything else that you could ask. These leaders will say they are there to save the nation and the sovereignty. That’s what they do and had to do it. If they didn’t… the Republic would be lost.

The Generals and the other high ranking officials who has government posts won’t suddenly go back to the barracks. No, they have finally gotten a way in and they didn’t even have to sway the public. They just did what they do best and outsmarted an unpopular head of state. That’s why the coup d’etat went so smooth and cost so few lives. Because, nobody really wanted the guy as a President and continue the agony of his government.

Therefore, the people is giddy when the lonely fella is off the throne. They are happy to see someone else and finally have hope. Nevertheless, in most cases they become corrupted, greedy and selfish. They will do some good work and build up some prestigious policies. However, you shouldn’t have your hopes up. That is only done to legitimize this affair and ensure the public give them a second chance to continue.

At one point or another. The truth will be revealed and how they are misusing the offices. As they are pillaging and looting the coffers. They have found a way of siphoning funds and spending it like drunk sailors abroad. Buying real-estate, SUVs and even houses for their mistresses. That’s what they do and they are proud of it too.

These army men who took power hope people are naive and believes their stories. The porkies that gives them life. That’s all they have… regardless of it the facts of the matter. They will not save you or the population. It might seem so and they influence the people to think so. However, they will stifle the press, the stop civic education and dissidents will be in trouble. The ones who dares to challenge them will suffer or even be silenced until eternity.

That’s why no one will be scorned. They will block people out of patriotism and national interests, but sooner or later this will narrowed down to all criticism. The ones in the inner-circle will defend and shield the ruler. He will be the supreme one and nobody should ever question his judgment. The ones that does… ends up in the slammer or a six feet under.

This is why they aimed the gun and won power. The moment they silence the guns and trust in their own egos. That’s when someone could do the same thing they did and with hostility takeover. Another coup d’etat and the circle continues. One big-man becomes several of big-men.

I don’t have to much hope. They might sound splendid and be orally smart as leaders. This doesn’t mean their heart is pure or their motives are to serve the public. They come as men of arms and soldiers of fortune. The army commanders wouldn’t have toppled governments if it wasn’t for self-interests too. They read the signs of the times and saw an opportunity.

The army commanders succeeded, but the moment they are a little slow or late. That’s when someone will strike them down. Peace.

The government that is ruling the country PP, making our country Oromia a battlefield, spilling the blood of the people, the lives of the youths who are the hope of the nation, and destroying the sin of the nation is more than ever. By the name of Oromo Liberation Army (WBO) supporting, giving and feeding our people the terror and suffering of the government of PP has reached a very difficult level. The arrest and killings that are being done in this name is now on a warning stage. Most of all the killing and the way they are killing Oromo children is very sad.

In Oromia zones, the center of Oromia (Shagar) is the place where crime is for humanitarian, killing and giving the name of WBO is one of the people that is being done in peace.

On 10/04/2016 ALI in south-western Shagar zone Ona Ilu, young people named Gemeda Chala and Tesfaye Hundee were arrested for 6 days in Taji.

On 16/04/2016, they shot and killed these youths in front of the market where people are buying and selling. It has been understood that these children gave food to WBO in a heartbreaking manner and the armed forces of PP system are robbed.

The government of PP is doing this kind of animal and despair on innocent people, knowing that the situation will change today and be represented tomorrow, it will be stopped from the cursed act and remove the bloody hand from our people, ABO has strengthened again.

While our people are falling and sinning like a leaf we don’t have the moral to see and pass, our people are wide and the international community and human rights activists of PP government are washing the blood of the people ABO has strengthened it again He will make the call to him.

A victory for the people at large!

Burundi: Ndayishimiye causing tension across the border…

Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye has accused Kigali and the Rwandan Government for aiding, supporting, funding and training Burundian rebels who is located in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) specificially the Rebel Group called RED-TABARA. That’s an huge accusation and you need some weight to come with it.

This is a bold claim and accusation. Even if the Rwandan authorities and army has been supportive of other proxies in the DRC. That is well-known in 2023 and isn’t a shocker. This is well-known and isn’t even that superficial. Therefore, the idea that the RPF and RDF would support a militia or a rebel group in the DRC. That sound about right, right?

Well, in this regard it is questionable because of the ties and the history of the Red Tabara. Red Tabara that was one out of two rebel groups that got started after the failed coup d’etat in 2015. The Red Tabara is also been claimed to be the military arm of the Movement for Solidarity and Democracy (MSD Part), which happens to be an opposition party in Burundi. Again, not connected to Rwanda.

The leader of the group back in 2016 was Major General Biremba Melchiade. The Chief of Staff, which have been seldom interviewed. The one interview he did he wasn’t saying much of significance in 2016. However, he said they bought weapons on the “black market” and their objective is to set up a “transitional government” and “organize credible, free, transparent and democratic elections”. That he said to the Jeune Africa telephone interview in February of 2016, which isn’t much of news. Nevertheless, there is no association with outsider there either.

That’s why the President is bold when saying Kigali is sponsoring and aiding Red-Tabara now. When we know they are already found of supporting proxies in the DRC. It isn’t like Rwanda is a saint on this matter and doesn’t have blood on their hands. Regardless of that, in this instance we have to act with more caution.

This is because, these accusations are getting old. Especially, when there is no meat brought to the table. Neither did the President specifically state how and why. There is a need for evidence and proof of it. That’s why the UN Experts Reports to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) are so revealing, as they have the bills, the proof and sometimes the transactions too. Which shows what went down and how a proxy is aided across the borders into the DRC. That’s what Bujumbura needs to prove now.

Bujumbura needs to show Kigali the proof. I need to see proof. Until now, the Red-Tabara has been an outfit by Burundian and for Burundians. It wouldn’t be out of ordinary if Kigali sponsored it, but we still need tangible evidence for it. Not just hearsay and accusations. Especially, when everything pins back to an open rebellion against the CNDD-FDD and Nkurunziza. This is why it exists and now it comes back to haunt the ruling regime of Burundi.

Until proven otherwise, I need more to say yes. Because, there is more at play here. Easier to blame the neighbour for own failures, than accepting it yourself. The insurgency is more feasible if someone else is behind it. Not just mere rebels with a cause, but rebels with an army behind it. That’s why the President wants it this way and I don’t blame him. He wants to look better and be prestigious. However, he has failed as much as his predecessor in this matter.

Red-Tabara continues to live and be able to cause bloodshed. That’s because the authorities and the army aren’t able to contain them. They have enough manpower and weapons to damage in the Republic. That should be a worry for the President. Peace.
