The Face-Off from Idris Sultan hurt President Magufuli

Tanzania, the place where you have to be careful how to be an online personality. How you have to be careful what sort of words you use. When you use them or even whatever you do. Might be used against you. Especially if this concerns President John Pombe Magufuli and his CCM. They are not to be joked around with or talked about in a bad manner. Than your an criminal and meets the authorities. That we have seen all through the tenure of the President and it continues.

This time its the joke on Twitter from comedian Idris Sultan yesterday on the 30th October 2019. When that news hit the authorities, this happen: “Tanzanian actor and comedian Idris Sultan is now facing arrest after he photoshopped Tanzanian head of state’s photos. Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Paul Makonda ordered comedian Idris Sultan to present himself to the nearest police station terming the actor’s acts as disrespect” (Ghetto Radio Kenya, 31.10.2019).

Because of that I have to write about this. Since this is yet another case of the mind-boggling social control, the levels of lack of free speech and even just common expression of one-self in the public sphere on social media. That someone for editing of photos getting into legal jeopardy.

The law he might have breached and has to defend himself for is this one:

CYBER CRIME ACT S.15. (1) A person shall not, by using a computer system impersonate another person. (2) A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on conviction, to a fine of not less than five million shillings or three times the value of undue advantage received by that person, whichever is greater, or to imprisonment for a term of not less than seven years or to both”.

So, what this means, that face-off’s is illegal. Playing around and fooling around, editing pictures and uploading them is illegal. That means, by this definition the Face-Off movie from 1997 with Nicholas Cage and John Travolta better be illegal too. Because, that is the definition of what Idris Sultan did yesterday on Twitter.

He was doing the switch of faces from the President to himself. So, if the President would have some humour, he would have switched to one of the pictures of Idris Sultan. However, this President is to vein and bloated self-importance to do so. This President cannot stomach critics and see this a criticism, which indirectly an insult of him.

Certainly, the CCM and Magufuli should take some time of their busy scheduling finding things to pin crimes on their citizens and making people felons. Maybe, just watch Face-Off and get a deeper understanding of what impersonation means. It is not like the Comedian stole the President identity and bought all types of books possible on Amazon? Not like he used his voice and played the President fooling some foreign investor in some fraud?

Those would have been some serious impersonation. However, this was just some mere fun on Twitter. Not harming a fly, not really disrespecting the President either. He was even wishing the President a peaceful birthday. For that, he might get into legal trouble and incarcerated for years.

That is Tanzania in 2019. Face-Off is illegal and especially of the President. His the holiness, you cannot comment, talk or address without blessing his name and spirit. The President is above all men and we just have to blessed to live in the life-time. Where people cannot edit, write or even drop statistics, which the President hasn’t anointed. Peace.

Opinion: Full Figure gone from red to yellow…

“I want to meet the president and address him a number of issues mainly affecting the youth among others. We have never forsaken president Museveni and we love him whole heartedly. It is his disorganized cabinet and civil workers that have been giving us sleepless nights not him. I have faced a lot of insults from people accusing me of being bribed and now I am requesting for an official meeting with the Fountain of honour as a staunch supporter of his ideologies,” lamented Jennifer Full Figure” (Abraham Kiggundu – ‘.”Museveni is Heaven Sent, I Want to Meet Him”-Confused Full Figure Speaks Her Heart Out’ 22.10.2019).

Today on the 31st October 2019, the singer turned activist and politician Jennifer Nakanguubi aka Jennifer Full Figure have gone from earlier in the year standing a Kampala Woman MP for People Power Movement. This was something she said in March 2019. However, she has totally changed over the last few months.

She has even blasted Ashburg, claiming he spied for Museveni on the PPM. That she did back in April 2019.

However, things changed in July 2019, when the People Power Movement structure got formalized and had the opening ceremony. That hit her hard.

As it was stated here: “She claims that her decision to join People Power was not because she wanted a position but Bobi Wine must have been wise enough to at least introduce her to the gathering during the unveiling ceremony yesterday. “If Bobi Wine yesterday failed to introduce me to the country, how will I get another chance since he is now working with a new team,” Full Figure said” (William Kasoba – ‘Bobi Wine made a big mistake not to appoint me – Full Figure’ 25.07.2019).

Just weeks later she said this about Bobi Wine and the PPM: “We are tired of these People Power clothes, do you think they are too special? We are going to take them off because we are tired of you. We were beaten because of these clothes and caps, and now you are ordering us to take them off because we are immoral! Where do you get the authority to tell me to take off the People power cap,” she said” (Allen Kisakye – ‘Full Figure undresses, launches war on People Power sympathizers’ 06.08.2019).

So, if she’s thinking of winnings people’s hearts she isn’t, she’s just turning into another Bebe Cool or Ragga Dee. Full Figure is going full retard on this one. Now she’s all YELLOW. She’s supposed to be independent and thinking for herself as a business-woman and singer. But as long as she wasn’t fresh and good enough for the posts in the Coordination Team of People Power. She had to seek pastures elsewhere. Who better than going to the stark opposition and the government, which the People Power fights to end?

We can see, that ideologically, we can see one very important thing Jennifer Full Figure was out for the meal-ticket and now has found her self a home. She has now gone from being a supposed cadre of PPM to become yellow. Surely, the President want someone else to run against the incumbent Kampala Woman MP Nabilah Naggayi Sempala. That would be an interesting battle of the minds and of the quotes in 2020/21. As there are no filters with Full Figure.

What we do know. Is that Jennifer Full Figure stands for very little or nothing. There are no substance or anything, which makes any sense. She’s just trying to find her meal-ticket and with the loyalty stamp and visit to the President. She hopes to have gained this and gotten the ticket to safety.

She can now loyally bash the People Power. The Movement she said she served and was betrayed by, because they didn’t recognize her importance nor her craft. Still, I don’t see it or have seen it anyway. She haven’t been on anyone’s real radar. Not like she has tried to rally the crowds, spread the word and be on the barricades, other than making a poster and wearing the red beret.

Jennifer Full Figure can act it out. Make herself a statement, but in the end she’s just a political bad-black. A lot of fuzz, but not any substance of importance or change. So, if she stands against Nabilah Naggay Sempala in 2021. She will see a real candidate who knows the game and who knows how to write her message.

Not, that I trust Nabilah one second, but she knows the game nevertheless. Something Full Figure doesn’t and secondly, how bonkers are your ideology that within months you go from PPM to NRM? Peace.

Opinion: [Alert] Remember to praise Edgar Lungu [especially on social media]

Well, if you are reading the Lusaka Times and other places of late. There are plenty of the people asking people to speak kindly of President Edgar Lungu and the Republic of Zambia. While this is happening, you can wonder; why do they do this?

Are the Patriotic Front of Lungu that weak and touchy, that it got to have self-praise in the social media and in the headlines at the newspapers? Can’t it stomach people addressing the problems of the Republic?

Well, we know that there reports of more that the state plans to ‘curb falsehood on social media’. That means revising the laws, so that people cannot say certain things on social media. This we have seen elsewhere.

We know that its on the plate of the government, as these two pieces are from the last few days:

Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo has urged the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) and Police to bring to book people using social media to scandalize President Edgar Lungu and other innocent people” (Lusaka Times – ‘Lusambo wants ZICTA to arrest People Scandalising President Lungu on Social Media’ 20.10.2019).

President Edgar Lungu is disturbed by the continued abuse of social media by some unscrupulous individuals and institutions. Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Isaac Chipampe says the deliberate abuse of social media is tailored to divert people’s attention from various developmental works the government is undertaking” (Lusaka Times – ‘President Lungu disturbed by the continued abuse of social media’ 25.10.2019).

So, with all of this in mind. The state doesn’t want bad publicity, doesn’t want bad press. But what they really want is the image of what the PF see and what Edgar envisions on a daily basis. Because, no one should be malicious enough to question him or the actions of the PF or the President. No, no, not even if his making them indebted for centuries to the Chinese. If he doesn’t develop state institutions and only enriching himself and his cronies. No, no don’t say that online. That is all pure malice.

Don’t discuss the long hours of load-shedding, the crop failures and poor harvests and so on. Don’t dare discuss that and the lack of funds to import the needed food to supply the shortfall of production. No, no that makes the President looks dumb. Edgar cannot look dumb. His bloody brilliant, even when he trades the biggest jewels for short-sighted adventures and have hiccups with the repayment plan.

We cannot talk about that. The man is the wisest in the land. The man of the hour, of the day and of our life-time. Edgar Lungu to the rescue. Even if that means changing to Beijing time, eating spring-rolls and speaking mandarin to please the bill-collectors. They are calling and Chamillionaire wants his cut.

Well, Lungu better accept the stuff he has done. So, should the PF and all the cronies. If people are mocking him for it. He better accept that fate. Because, his making the republic drowning in debt. Lungu is not fixated in properly steering the economy nor developing properly. If he did, he wouldn’t have swallowed all of that debt without considering the implications of doing so.

That’s why his toyed with online and there will be more of that. Maybe not from his Republic. But the rest will know. We see you. Peace.
