Kenya: The political elite have nowhere to go…

Today is a day of revolution, an end of era and a new beginning. The Financial Bill of 2024 was the final nail in the coffin. Today the streets have been filled with people. Today the towns and the nation has shown its anger and frustration, as the political elite, the representatives and the ones in office haven’t listened to the pleas and concerns of their citizens.

Today the Kenya Kwanza, the Tanga Tanga and the whole coalition of willing in Nairobi is lost. The ones who was able to gain power and live lavish. They are now running, hiding and disappearing.

They should hide and go because the anger and frustration are everywhere to see. The tear-gas and live bullets don’t stop the protesters. The citizens are going to the gates of power, to offices of the representatives and occupying it.

Today people died on the streets, on the avenues and on the frontlines of the republic. They stood together in solidarity and in harmony over a common purpose. A purpose that the politicians and the electoral elite had forgotten. They have forgotten the toils, the tears and the suffering of its citizens.

That’s why there are snipers on the roof of the Parliament. Why the police used live bullets and extra judicially killed civilians. That’s what the government and the ones in power did. They ordered the bloodshed, the pain, and additional lethal actions, which will be remembered in history. More innocent civilian blood taken over one overtaxed population. That’s what the ones in power decided to do.

President William Ruto and his whole cabinet will be forced now. The burning of the Parliament and the other places around nation. That’s a sign of the tiredness and lack of pity from the ones in power. They forgot who they represent and why they are even there to begin with. The elite and the ones in power forgot the people and that’s why they had to return the National Assembly to prove a point. It has cost and innocent lives has been taken. All for the price of a Financial Bill that doesn’t serve the public.

The President and his cronies never listened. The lies and deception couldn’t take them that far. The losses are now being counted. The verdict is out. This isn’t just about a bill for Parliament. No, this is about the soul of the nation and about the elite who forgot its purpose. They forgot who they represent and who gives them a job in the first place. That’s what has happened, and this is why people are in the streets.

The ones who are in power must fear the people and their will, it is their will that is the command of the representatives. That’s what the Members of Parliament and the Senators have forgotten. This is why the tone-deaf vote of the Financial Bill was acted upon today. The day of organized peaceful assembly, which has turned into violence and brutality from state sponsored law enforcement. They have to answer for the blood, the pain and the suffering. As they have caused more damage and taken lives. We don’t know how many, but rest assure, the numbers will rise across the Republic today. Not only around the Parliament and elsewhere in Nairobi. No, these numbers will be sounding the alarm across the Republic.

These protests are now damning. There are nowhere to go from here. The revolution are now upon us. The state of Kenyan politics is forever altered. The assemblies that are breached in other counties of the Republic will be told too. There will be other protests that will aim and target governing bodies there. Therefore, the ones in office has to fear the people.

The people are now with a voice. The voice of their own feet and with the sounds of their voices. This is the resounding message, that the public is tired and restless for change. Because the current ones are only serving themselves and their own selfish interests. That’s who they are, and they are willing to sacrifice innocent civilians to have it their way. The legitimacy of the government is gone. The people cannot accept their actions and the protest says it all. Peace.

Opinion: Assange is temporarily released…

“The defendant. .lULIAN PAUL ASSANGE (“’ASSANGE”). was not a United States citizen, did not possess a U.S. security clearance, and did not have authorization to possess, access, or control documents, writings, or notes relating to the national defense of the United States, including United States government classified information” (…) “From at least 2009 and continuing through at least 2011, in an offense begun and committed outside of the jurisdiction of any particular state or district of the United States, the defendant, JULIAN PAUL ASSANGE, who will be first brought to the District of the Northern Mariana Islands, knowingly and unlawfully conspired with Chelsea Manning to commit the following offenses against the United States” (United States District Court for Northern Mariana Islands – Case 24 – 00014 – USA v. Julian Assange, 25.06.2024)

It is clear that the WikiLeaks Co-Founder Julian Assange is temporarily released after being detained for years on end after years of pain and troublesome criminal liability. A man who kept himself in a foreign embassy for years to in London, United Kingdom. Before later being arrested and being detained for 5 years in Belmarsh prison.

This is a set in the right direction, but the journalist and whistleblower are far from total freedom. The plea agreement is heavy, and he will face more legal jeopardy because of it. I doubt he will get granted total freedom and liberty. Especially considering they are going after him regarding confidential and national secrets, which he leaked together with his team at WikiLeaks. That will sting him and be used against him.

We have seen these sorts of things before and yes, his free from prison in the United Kingdom, but the plea deal will affect him. There will be conditions and stipulations on his life. I doubt they will release him completely and without any punitive action. As the WikiLeaks releases damaged the United States and their internal national security, as well as unleashing knowledge that they wanted to keep secret.

That’s why you know this is a hot potato. We have seen how other whistleblowers and leakers have been captured by the U.S. government. Assange is just one out of plenty of others. They are obviously making headlines now. That his released from Belmarsh, but the U.S. District Court of Mariana Islands would be the jurisdiction for his case. This is where he has to show up and be a responsible plaintiff.

I will not celebrate his total freedom until it is official. Because right now, he has a court case and is pending as such. I doubt the plea deal gave him everything on a silver platter. That is something I doubt. It would be weird if so.

Juilian Assange is out of legal trouble in the United Kingdom, but he must answer for the United States now. That’s another ballgame and especially in consideration of the agreed upon leaking of confidential and secret information, which we all know he did. Peace.

A look into Mzee’s “Statement on NRM’s fight against Corruption”

“Greetings. Although busy celebrating Maama’s 76th birthday, I am also fully in the war against obwiibi (theft) of government money, obutagambirwa (not listening to guidance) and okweragyiira, okwetuminkiriza (doing things that are not agreed upon)” – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (24.06.2024).

There was days when the sort of intellectual spirit and gravitas of His Excellency could inspire people. It was a time when that brought hope of a better future and another tomorrow. However, those days are long lost and people are yawning. People are tired of it and they know it isn’t legit.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni have no backbone, no urgency and no need to uproot the evils of corruption. If he did… it wouldn’t be as prevalent and as common as it is. The practice and usage of it within his government is obvious. He is even using it and expanding his cronyism over it. Therefore, he cannot combat something that gives his Presidency life.

That’s why a statement like the ones published today is just futile. There is nothing there. Just like the 2 hour long speeches and metaphorical makings of directives through letters to his Ministers. They look good on paper and possibly sounds good, but regardless of that… it won’t go anywhere and we know it.

Just read these quotes from the statement, before I finish this off with a little rant after it…

“In the NRM time, we went back to the old system of the Civil service based on merit through competitive examinations by the Public Service Commission. That is why we never bothered with corruption for a long time, knowing that there are capable People handling money, personnel and procurement. We now know that many of them have let us down. We shall, therefore, have to work with victims of this corruption and some patriots to crush this betrayal. Are the patriots there? Yes. Where is the proof? The 20,000 fighters that attacked Kampala on the 22nd to the 26th of January, 1986, were mainly patriots. Otherwise, why would they do what they did without pay?” (Museveni, 24.06.2024).

“Nevertheless, it is possible to crush corruption through the alliance of patriots (I count myself as one of them) and the victims, the masses. The masses can be encountered in the village barazas, etc. The patriots are to be found in the political leadership, some public servants, the churches, etc.

Corruption is diverting a lot of money that could develop the country. IGG estimates Ug. Sh.10 trillion per year!!” (Museveni, 24.06.2024).

“Therefore, the thieves are parasites that must be stamped out, and the indisciplined are saboteurs of our fast development and must also be stopped” (Museveni, 24.06.2024).

One that never gets to old is the usage of the beginning of time or the essence of this Presidency. The time-frame and the need to go all the way back to the bush or the early stages of being a Head of State. That’s the prime and the moment of glory. When he won and took power from others. That’s what we need to salute and he ended everything. Created everything and made it his. Alas, that is part of the problem too.

Everything is encircling the President and his nearest associates. The government is based on his blessing and the representatives are all awaiting his verdict on any matter. They need his guidance and wisdom before doing anything. That’s why the rotten core and the foundation of the state is corruptible. Since the President acknowledge and doesn’t address the issue properly. He see it as a way of getting all ends to meet. The President benefits and enriches himself of it. That’s why he needs his underlings to partake and eat too.

He can promise to crash, destroy and annihilate the corrupt as much as he wants to. Use slurs and be vindictive in nature. However, we know that won’t happen and the ones in high power won’t be touched. Neither will the closest allies or the ones serving him. There will be some small fishes taken and some might have to fall on the sword for a minute, but they will be released soon or not even properly scorned even. That’s what he does to the Ministers who are loyal and who took what wasn’t theirs. Nevertheless, they will be off the hook and able to serve another day.

That’s why you know the Statement is useless. It is so abundantly clear. No matter what dogma or ideals he uses. It won’t matter at all. The President only does this to get headlines and act like he has a oversight over it. However, we know he won’t do a thing and this gig is up. Peace.

Opinion: Ng’ang’a should regret this single utterance…

“Those Gen Z are just a bunch of foolish and ignorant youth who know nothing about politics or governance. Let them continue yapping; they will take some of us nowhere. What can a 19- or even a 25-year-old baby tell us? Let me hear of them attempting to bring that nonsense of theirs into Thika. They will know that we are in government” – Hon Alice Ng’ang’a, Thika Town MP (Mambo Mseto, 23.06.2024).

Do anyone want to remind the Member of Parliament why she is there? Someone is only a Member of Parliament because you represent for others. The MP is there because a constituency needs someone to represent them in the National Assembly or Parliament. Therefore, the MP should listen to the people and their voices.

Alice Ng’ang’a MP needs to listen to the Gen. Z. and the public in general. That’s her job and in her title. Her office only exist because the people votes her in and she gets their support to be there. Ng’ang’a cannot run away from this and shows how arrogant she is.

The MP should be grateful that she has had the ability to voted in office and being a politician. She is there because the people has voted her in. That’s why she needs to use her two ears and not run her mouth. It is about time that she sits down with protesters and activists before she is history.

She is just showing the arrogance and the ignorance of the political elite of Kenya. That an MP is saying this… when she needs their support and their ballots in an election. She desperately needs the Gen. Z in the next election. That’s who she needs and they are her future. However, she is not mindful of their plights, struggles and how this affect their daily life.

Ng’ang’a needs to understand her role and where she is at. She is there for a reason and are blessed for it. Others would easily sought out to replace her and be in her stead. They could easily do it and serve the community better. There are people out there who is willing to listen and address the concerns of the Gen. Z. However, they are blocked or barred from entry.

The MP should be ashamed of herself and no one should pity her. She has made her own bed and now have to sleep in it. This is disgraceful of a representative and shows how oblivious the MPs are to the reality of the public they are serving. Instead of thinking of them or even listening to them. They rather educate and mock them. The ones that is the reason for their role to begin with.

It is obnoxious and outrageous, but nothing new.

Ng’ang’a MP have to beg for mercy and repent fast. Gen. Z will remember this and she can easily be exchanged for someone else in the next election. Peace.

Opinion: Mpuuga isn’t “my leader”

This will be short, very very short as there isn’t so much to say about Mathias Mpuuga MP that haven’t been said already. He held his thanksgiving and tried to show his political leverage and capital that sort of failed. The MP didn’t get the validation and the support he wanted.

Mpuuga MP is now using a new slogan and wanting to rebrand himself as “my leader”. The former Leader of Opposition, former Democratic Party MP and now National Unity Platform (NUP) MP have answer for answered for his actions. He has only deflected and avoided any accountability … for his actions in Office. That’s what he should have done.

The MP cannot run away from his past and what he has done as an Opposition MP. That’s what has been asked of him. The NUP Party have also addressed the matter and asked him to act accordingly, but he has instead defied them.

This Thanksgiving in Masaka was done to solidify his position and his popularity. Nevertheless, it was falling flat and he didn’t have as much popularity as he said he did. It didn’t cause as much friction or political capital as he thought he should. Therefore, Mpuuga MP should reflect on his actions and what he has done during this term alone.

If Mpuuga thinks this is wise politicking ahead of the 2026 elections. It isn’t words of wisdom or giving good vibes. Mpuuga MP is just another corruptible leader and “my turn to eat” person in office. That’s who he is and he expect us to take his words for it.

That’s why Mpuuga MP isn’t my leader, neither is anyone who accepts bribes, graft, corruption and siphoning funds from the state coffers. Thieving is thieving regardless of how you characterize it. The MP cannot deny that and he can act above it, but that doesn’t make it true.

Mathias Mpuuga MP needs guidance and this recent Thanksgiving haven’t given him an edge. Neither has it solidified his position or his place within the NUP party. Instead his a man on his own and wants us all to cheer him along. That will not happen…

Especially, when he cannot listen to simple instructions and adhere to internal party documents. Instead he rather join hands with other corrupt leaders and think he can get away with it. Peace.
