Youth MPs for the 12th Parliament are all NRM [anything else would be surprising]

Not breaking news, but the National Resistance Movement wins all the Youth MPs, as the Central, Western, Eastern and Northern Youth MPs all comes from ruling regime. This is a (s)election and not a direct election of these. No, it is delegates that are facilitated and paid for voting.

These sorts of affairs are filled with intimidation and misuse of power. That’s why there is talk of bribery of delegates and they are paid to vote a certain way. None of that is shocking, as that’s the modus operandi of the NRM itself. That’s why the NRM have a landslide, and they got all the Youth MPs. Meanwhile, the NRM is mocking the opposition and saying they don’t have the cadres or the popularity to get them. However, we know it is all about the money and short-term gains of the delegates. Not the grand gesture of the candidates or their candidacy even. No, they are just pawns of the NRM and will be used to vote in the favour of whatever whims the President has. Therefore, nothing new is under the sun.

We have seen the guns and glamour before. That has been reported in the past. This time around there was nothing of the sort. There was protest in the Northern Delegation, which had to be sorted before the polls was opened. That’s why know things are bad and this sort of selection is doing no one any good.

The Declaration Forms and the sort of affair is just procedure. These MPs are only there to ensure the NRM gets a huge majority and consolidate power. There have never been a few or if any who has ever been in opposition as Youth MP. I cannot remember a single one and that’s just the gist of things.

It would have shocking if Churchill had been elected in Central. Everyone knows the NRM gets it and they secure the victory, one way or the other. They don’t mind how they are getting it, but they celebrate the election. Nevertheless, anyone who follows knows the gig and what is expected to be the aftermath.

This was for the NRM and for the NRM only. There would be no UPC or NUP to be elected. Neither any other independent either, except if they were a son or daughter of a NRM historical or the inner circle surrounding the President. So, please, we know this and everyone should know this too. Peace.
