Opinion: Shchekin needs to get his mind correct

I don’t know if some people are out of their medication or has lost their marbles. Though, I think that the man in question is delusional and believes all the propaganda he reads. The Belarus political scientist or propagandist after what you prefers. Is clearly jaded and thinking he can tell story without it backfiring.

Surely he is only seeing “Z” and Russian tanks crossing into new territory. Most likely his dreaming of wild prosperity in the heart of Kremlin and within Minsk. That he can be the wise-man and a sort of spiritual spin-doctor of the new era. However, that will not happen and his not that clever.

Because, his claims are unfounded and unjust. Like saying all of Europe is filled with Nazis and is undemocratic. That coming from the man who is living in Belarus and the opposition, which was lucky was able to escape into exile after the recent election. While in Russia there is no real opposition or ability to run against the regime of Putin. So, that a political scientist form any of these countries speaks of spreading democracy. That is a blatant lie, because they cannot even grasp that home or within their territory. Why would Belorussians and Russians bring democratic values to Europe. When they cannot even do it in Minsk or in Moscow? Bitch please, hang up the phone. You have dialled the wrong number.

While we are on it. The sort of stories his telling is just showing his ignorance. All leadership who is not patriotic or loyal to the Kremlin is Nazi. That is how they are determining it these days. There is no validation or no sort ideals or prospects ever.

He also insinuate that the Ukrainian state isn’t legit and calls it “so-called Ukraine”. The Ukrainian state has a long and rich history. Just like most of the European states. Heck, the Belarus opposition is using a ancient flag and emblems to signify the times before the Russian influence of Belarus. In the same manner Lithuania goes long back into time and was a sort of empire at one point. Therefore, this political scientist of sorts cannot even study history or reflects on the realities of the nations his dwelling with.

The propagandist is proclaiming and wants Russians to liberate Europe from the ghosts of Second World War. He wants to save Europe from Nazis. This isn’t 1939 or 1945. We are living in a Democratic Europe, a liberal and with esteemed leadership who respects one another and who follows diplomatic measures between the nations. If it is within the European Union or between the member-states themselves. They are not bound by decrees or orders of one man in Moscow. Which is what order the likes of Shchekin abides by and breathes for.

He can live and praise the “democracy” Alexander Lukashenko, which is not only flawed, but a brutal dictatorship. A dictatorship supported and nourished by Kremlin. This man might be living good on those terms, but there is plenty who suffers, which he will never save or see. They are the ones who the rest of Europe feels for. As the Russians and Belorussian allies are violating Ukraine on a daily basis.

While people like Shchekin defends and even tries to make it reasonable to further the “special operation” or invasion. Because, that is how these people are and they cannot even see it themselves. This sort of man wouldn’t understand democracy, even if he lived in the midst of it. He cannot reflect or ascertain the ideals or the platitudes of how it works. If he would… he would have left Minsk and Belarus in a heartbeat and known what sort of masters his serving right now. However, we know that is too much to ask. Peace.

Opinion: The “benevolent dictator” term need to be eradicated

There been plenty of times, long-term dictators has been written as a “benevolent dictator”. Benevolent means that your being organized for the purpose of doing good. That indirectly means the organization of the dictator is done for the purpose of doing good. That is where I have a trouble with it.

I don’t believe it, neither see it fit to deem a person deemed as a dictator as good. That is because its easy to say their actions are not good, neither their results. They might have now and then done some positive policies, regulations and budgets. The timelines of their reign might show some progress and some positive actions. However, that should be undermined by their destruction of civil society, their total control of the political sphere and their de-institutionalize of the states they run. As it is run by their decree and their “high above” orders. Which can go from securing a well in a far-away village to make a political enemy “stop”.

Therefore, the knowledge of the control, the extent of misuse of power and militarized the government. The state isn’t there to safeguard the public any-more. Neither is the state their to secure welfare for all. The dictator is building the state around the small fraction and elites the dictator trust. The dictator are securing allies and cronies. Not building for the grander good and with that sense. It is hard to see how the dictator can be deemed fit as benevolent.

The only ones calling a dictator benevolent is the ones who needs an ally. They need a big-man in a region and someone they can point at. To say, we donated funds to this guy, we uses his army and his folks to rebuild. We are showing the donations and the results by backing this guy. That is why they are transcribing positive features. Because, they need to have a point-man far away. Someone, they can make a hero, even when its a cruel tyrant. Since he has a running hospital and a factory in the suburb of the Capital. Still, the rural areas are as struggling as they were at independence. Only vast difference is the amounts of pictures of the dictator and they have some more houses with electricity.

This is just the way it is. The people can die because of the greed of the President and dictator. The people can be hunted down and destroyed if they go against the dictator. Still, at the end of the day. Someone can call him benevolent. Which is a total cognitive dissonance, as you cannot be running an evil and be kind at the same time. The same well cannot pump both water and wine. It either gives you wine from the cellar or water from the source. It is that simple.

A dictator is not their for the common good. The purpose is to stay in power by any means. No matter what the person destroys, how it undermines the civil society and how it misuse its power and resources. That is what a dictator does, the dictator only smiles and develops something. If there is something to gain or a favour down the line. Therefore, the kindness of the dictator is only done for personal reasons. Not done for building a functioning welfare state. A functioning welfare state wouldn’t have a dictator, because the citizens wouldn’t be tricked to have one. The dictator couldn’t manipulate the institutions and the civil service.

That is just the way it is. A dictator needs weak institutions and a militarized society to take a solid grip of power. Also, have the ability to incite fear and manipulate every situation to its favour. That is why its hard to believe people address these cunning actions as “good”. Peace.

The WaBenzi must really be hurt because of COVID-19

The elites must really be hurt these days. They cannot scheme, do business or run their affairs like normal. These people cannot travel, move or act like they usually can. That is hurting them. The ones poor is also victims, but these people are even more damaged.

The WaBenzi in their expensive SUVs, Mansions and huge pay-offs are on-hold. They cannot earn money through the State House nor imports as usual. Unless, they are able to trick with medicines or medical equipment, which the state will struggle to get enough off. Since, the whole world is scavenging to get what they needs of masks, medicine and sanitizers.

The WaBenzi are usually able to get medical treatment abroad. Now the borders are closed, they got to go locally. Where the ordinary citizens has to go. Their fancy cars, the quick money and the huge houses aren’t saving them. Neither is their bank-accounts with their looted money. Instead of helping the state to build Hospitals and Health Care Centres during the sunny days, but now that its raining its a bit late.

The Wabenzi has had the opportunity to use their influence, their connections to high above and the cabinet. They are able to find deals and able to get money. These people have the association and the ability to earn funds in the country normally. Therefore, if they cared for the state they are from and reside in. They would have acted upon this, but they also had easy access outside. That’s why this haven’t mattered.

The rich, the wealthy, the ones with more money than God. The ones who could get to the State House. Could start businesses and give the kickbacks to launch their state officials in dire need. That is what they have done and it worked fine. Now, they cannot do this.

There is lack of ICU beds, ventilators or even ordinary medical equipment. There is also lack of skilled health care workers and systems picking up the ones who catch the disease. They cannot run from the disorganized and the lack of support the Ministry of Health has. Even if the Wabenzi can be at their homes, can afford to send servants to pick up food and supplies. They are still in close associated with the community and therefore can get the sickness too.

When they do, their pockets will not save them. The lack of care for the Health Care system and years of neglect will haunt them. They cannot run to India, Europe or the United States. They need treatment back-home and means in the lack of beds, nurses and whatnot. Which wasn’t a big deal when the aspiring WaBenzi was ageing and grow fat. They never considered that they needed to use their influence to ensure the health care would be good at home. Since they could always flea the nation and get help abroad.

Now, they are in trouble. They are in the depleted state with everyone else. WaBenzi is sinking, but that is because they never cared. Their insulting work over the years. They had not trouble eating the state funds and looting the nation together with the ones in-charge. These people was cronies and backers, who ate handshakes and got slices of bad deals. Which is the reason why the failure of everything now.

That is why the WaBenzi has more fly cars than the state has ICU beds. The reason why there are more expensive swimming-pools, than there are fully functioning hospitals. There are more mansions with fully functioning ventilations, than there are steady electricity at most of the nations hospitals. There is more likely more expensive HD LCD TVs in the homes of the WaBenzi, than there is educated and skilled personnel to save their lives. Still, they enjoyed the spoils and ate the soul of the nation.

Now, they got to live in it and hope they don’t catch the disease. That they don’t get the virus and get sick of COVID-19. They will swim with the common folk. They will drown with them if the packs of citizens get it. The virus will beat the Health Care system quickly, they are not prepared and the donors cannot help them. They are hurt themselves and has to save their own before sending help to you now. Cubans and Chinese helpers are already arriving in Italy, so its not like Wabenzi would get help now. No matter how fat their pockets of shilling is.

WaBenzi, you should have used your power, your close association with the ones in power for the common good. However, you always thought you could migrate and be medical tourists elsewhere. You could leave no mind the depleted state, which it is. You could have begged for investments and wondered why there was no care for this. However, you were to busy to live lavish and eat. So, now you live in your own vomit. Hope you feel it and worries too. You could have acted differently, but you never cared. Unless you could get a quick buck and consider the first plane to treatment in India, Singapore, China or elsewhere. Peace.

UNSC lifts sanctions on Eritrea: Still more of the Same-Same, but nothing different!

There are plenty who celebrates the lifting of arms-embargo, asset freeze and targeted sanctions on Asmara and the Eritrean Government, that is happening as the second triparte meeting happened over the weekend. The Peace Agreement with Addis Ababa and Mogadishu is a giant step in peaceful interaction and a better Horn of Africa. However, the Eritrean government is still the same one as before.

It is not like the Eritrean government has stopped their long military subscriptions, using military to do slave labor for the generals and so on. The Presidency of Isias Afwerki is still more of the same. Not like there are openness and trust in the good values. Not like there are any coming elections or any sort of civic enterprise coming to the homes of Eritreans. Therefore, lifting sanctions only gives the Afwerki Administration more leeway and more fiscal funding for their embezzling ways.

The Eritrean military is known for indefinite conscription of their military personnel. That why many has fled and even done what they could to seek refuge elsewhere. On the African Continent, the Eritrean government is the one with the highest amount of political prisoners.

There is most likely no change in the structures of Asmara or the People’s Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), which is a one-party state. A state where Afwerki has his fiefdom. With the 15-0 United Nations Security Council voting on the 14^th November 2018 to end the sanctions. Will most likely give him more power to continue his rule. The leverage and the bargain chips the UNSC had over Eritrea is now lost. These was put because of interference with Djibouti and Somalia. The arms trading to terrorist groups there. Therefore, the peaceful transition of the latest month has been positive.

Still, the reality in Asmara is more of the same. Not like the PFDJ will be transparent, hold elections or even care for a free press. Not like the Afwerki regime will stop the enslavement, torture, imprisonment and enforced disappearance of political adversaries, these acts will continue. We know that elections will not happen, as the latest one was happening in May 2004. If it was held, it would most likely be a one-party charade to facilitate an official second term for the President and nothing else. As he has been the President without question since independence in 1994.

So, the legitimacy and the recognition from the world has come the way of Eritrea. They are not a piraya or a dangerous dictatorship anymore. They are just a dictatorship with an iron-fist. Who doesn’t deserve sanctions anymore, because of their diplomatic relationship with Somalia and Ethiopia. The peace has served them well. Clearly the Asmara has gotten well off with this.

They are not changing or even testing the leadership, but letting the external relationship help the internal problems vanish. However, the same structures, the same military and sole dictatorship is still there. Not like that has changed over the last few months. No, it is more of the same. Therefore, the ones who voted for this, should consider the ramification and the elites earning on the sanctions. As they will benefit from this.

Afwerki might have waited long, but he is off the hook. Even if he still makes his suffer and take away their freedom. The International Community isn’t hurting the state anymore, not in the way it used too. Let see what the consequences of this is, but certainly it will only do the administration good. Not the public, as they are the same one used by PFDJ, when they need it. Peace.

The Great is not that great in our time!

I know, the title is ironic, but someone has to say it. The leaders, His Excellency and other titles are outrages, as their reach and extent of power are not reaching us. We are seeing wars prolonged, we are seeing oppressive regimes continues for decades and we are seeing fleeing refugees starve; even drown on their way to safety. In addition, with the knowledge of all that, we don’t let the value of life sink in ourselves. It is more important to have the Nespresso or even try out a new type of Coca-Cola, because why not?

We are at a point in time. Where our leadership is more self-serving, where the leadership is all about having a career and being wise as PR person, not showing ethical regard or even moral backbone, not showing consistency. However, as long as you are in the lime-light and showing yourself as useful you have a place in the places of power, but not because you’re doing the commons or the world any good.

We are at this stage, because we all have made it this way, we have accepted these men and woman, these stars and golden booted leaders whose sole justification for ruling, is that they have climbed to the pedestal and now just can bounce around to different positions. Without really delivering any significant change or care for that matter. They are just changing hats and titles, than at the next junction moving on from the sorry souls it was supposed to take care off! Whom minds about them right? Only poor schmucks like me, right?

Moreover, I hold no power, none. I get less power, than a single AA battery at this point. My hands cannot even light a lamp; even I wished I had half of Hulks power within my veins. However, that is not the case; I am just an ordinary man in flesh and blood.

That is why we have to care, because next time, we could be the victims of oppression, of thieving public officials and of people who uses the security to hunt us down; who knows when it is our turn to be under-fire. No one knows this, but it could be.

That is why we have to aspire to something great, to overcome these obstacles and search for the higher purpose, to help our brothers and sisters. Not just await the next cup of coffee or coke and hope that fate just pops by, cheerio, right?

We have to get our leaders not to be just con men, leaders who pose as public officials, but are there just to eat. We needs leaders who actually works against the stoppage of wars, the ones that will stop selling arms to oppressive regimes and brutal dictatorships. We have to inspire people to transcribe to the facts, that the world will only get better if the elected leadership actually works for humanity and not for a golden booted career. That is what we have to install and prescribe too, if not these leaders will guide people like blind sheep and laugh in chambers. Because they are paid in gold, while we are taxed to our necks. In addition, for what? Therefore, they can afford Vitamin Water, while most cannot even get clean water in their tap.

Let us get serious. We got too; we cannot hold on to this and accept this token. The injustice and impunity, there is time for retribution and results, not played around like Donkey of the Day, but become men and woman who charge the leadership and expect delivery. That is justice, as these people are supposed to represent us. Peace.

Otafiire is wrong on Museveni: He will not leave by the ballot, but when he dies!

“President Museveni will only go when you stop voting him not shouting. Nobody will shout Museveni out of office. The only way that you can remove Museveni from office is when you stop voting him” says Maj.Gen. Kahinda Otafiire in Ibanda” (Daily Monitor, 31.08.2018).

This is not a positive message, because there are really no narrative in this manner and with the times that can be like this. If President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni had shown any signs of giving way or even planning succession, the words of an election would have sounded real. However, for someone saying that knows perfectly well how the President is, Otafiire knows his words isn’t true.

Otafiire says Museveni will only leave if he voted out of office! How is that even possible? The Presidential Elections are filled with intimidation, rigging and securing the President by any means. There are no math, no possibility that Museveni will ever run a free and fair election. He will not let the people decide, he has already made his decision and the result is well-known, year in advance. Museveni has run the Republic since 1986.

He lost an election in 1980 and have never lost one since, the first one in 1996 and since then had total control. There haven’t been much change or significant changes since Multi-Party Elections happened in 2006. Which was something Museveni was against, he wanted everything in-house and under his umbrella. That is something he still wants and therefore, wants everyone to get people who will follow his guidelines and his vision from the State House. That is why he is saying people are misguided and wrong, when they pick leaders that he cannot order directly around.

Otafiire knows all this and has to change the narrative, because any government who meets to much internal pressure will fall. You are able to detain people, but not have the power to arrest the whole population. You might have the ability to torture the leaders and key activists, but you cannot torture all people. You cannot kill all opposition or everyone standing in the way of the King, but you can take out the chosen few who challenge the leadership. That is all well-known things for Otafiire. That is what the NRM has done since inception in the 1980s. One-by-One as it has been needed. The difference, is that now the news isn’t only in print, but the words and reactions from the oppression hits the web in minutes.

NO ELECTION will ever change the throne. That is not how to dismantle the rule of Museveni, if so, then there would have been a possibility in 1996, 2001, 2006, 2011 and 2016. Neither of them, there was any chances for anyone else to win. Even as the decades has gone and the time of liberation has shown to be the same as the tyrants before. Museveni was supposed to bring progress, but bringing more regress.

Otafiire knows, this the people should know too, as the military and army are in the streets. Because Museveni and NRM doesn’t have the love of the people, if they did, why do they need to guard the streets? They should secure the sovereign state’s borders and not occupy their own territory. That is what Museveni does and Otafiire knows that too.

Otafiire might have a blurred vision or is so loyal, that he have to spin it. Since he wouldn’t be relevant or even have Cabinet Post. If it wasn’t for the brownie points he has already scored with the President, he wouldn’t be there today.

The NRM apologists can lie to the public, but some of us has to address it, because we knows better. Peace.

A spiteful chant: Where did humanity go?

Where did humanity go in our time? When did we cease to care about other people’s struggle and their causes? When did that cease to matter? Because in our time, the rich and wealthy are securing more and more resources, while the poor is having no ways to get out of it. The states are closing their borders, stricter rules for refugees and asylum-seekers. While in dictatorships, the harassments and the internally displaced numbers are rising. The rich countries are investing in warfare, but not taking charge for the fleeing refugees from the crisis. They are trying to pay the states in regions and close the borders in migration routes. There is no heart, just cash-money. The heart has left, and the ignorance is rising.

The deaths of civil wars, the displacements of draconian laws and of dictators doesn’t matter. The lack of dialogue and of political freedoms, that doesn’t matter either. The lack of compassion and of political will change is also okay. As long as the troubles from afar doesn’t touch us. However, we will seal of the borders and make sure the innocent victims of internal disputes and skirmishes hopefully can cross the border to the closest country and not seek refugees in Europe or in the United States. Because, we cannot mange to show some humanity and heart.

The blood in your veins should boil, but for most. We don’t give a damn, they don’t give a fig. If their villages are burned to the ground by the military. If the Police is detaining people without any justification. If the state is securing the demise and death on fake imports. All of that doesn’t matter, as long as it doesn’t happen where we are.

This is the despicable. This is the reality. Our time, our reality, what our representatives put forward and make sure to build big invisible walls and mechanisms to close borders. To make it less achievable and costly to cross. Even more dangerous, as the perils of death and destruction at home isn’t better. But to leave can also cost your life, either by crook or by the book. Secondly, there will be nobody to even care to look.

This should be disgusting. Knowing that people are dying fleeing civil-wars and dictatorship, than when they are entering our safe havens; there is no one caring for their ills and troubles. They will just shrug it off like dirt on their shoulders and move on. There is lack of solidarity and heart. I hope in my time, that the Republic’s and Nation’s that close their borders never start warfare with themselves. As the ones who saw what we did. Might also give us no helping hand. They might say, we saw what your parents did to us. Why should we save the kids to such despicable people? Why do you deserve safe haven, when you couldn’t help our kind in need?

That is what I worry about, because we never know when the tide change, when society start to deteriorate or self-destruct. That is within us and we never know. We could be next, right now it is our brothers from afar, next time it could our closest neighbor or even ourselves. Than, they will remember our cold hearts and lack of compassion in the times of need. Peace.

The sorry state of the nation of WaBenzi!

You are now entering into an alternative universe, where we have a nation called WaBenzi. Where the elites was eating of the state reserves, where the elite was there because of their connections with the political elite. A political elite made by patronage and nepotism. This political elite was made out a liberation battle done decades ago, either from a foreign force or from some dictator, whose legacy was murder of ethnic groups or even expelling others. The leader on top would be seen as a hero back in the day, but with lingering time, the party (the Movement) and the President would tarnish his own reputation for lingering on.

While that is happening, the written word is losing meaning in WaBenzi. Because the political are afraid of challenging the President and his party. They might have some newspapers, but their circulation isn’t on the basis for anyone outside many urban townships of the nation. Neither is the social media sites. The intelligence that has been leaked, has made the elite to shut-down, arrest and revoke the licenses of these media houses. Therefore, the media is careful and awaiting approval from the elite before publishing. They are careful with how they address the President and his movement. Because they don’t want to question his rule. At least not too much, because they don’t want to suffer. They got families to feed. Even if there is an inflation, even if the economy is in shambles. Even if the rising debt and lack of foreign exchange is hurting the economy.

The patronage is destroying the state, the lack of institutions that is meaningful is shown from anything from SIM-CARDs, or even as foolish as monitoring porn. The boards are busy bodies, while the state is eating the funds for the top-class. The state owned enterprises are giving away tenders to developers without any oversight of the contractors or their delivery. If this get public scrutiny, the President will offer them a new chance after a short suspension. Because someone he knows are eating of this plate.

In WaBenzi, the elite can get away with murders, they can get away with thefts and even land grabbing. As long as the State House is informed, it doesn’t matter if the house is a colonial masterpiece or a grand-farm. Everything can be taken, even evict whole villages for foreign investors, for factories which is promised on the land. The state can take away land for roads and for rail projects, even if the building is only on planning stage and not even the tenders of building it is open to the public. Therefore, if a garden estate for one of the elites is built there instead, it doesn’t matter. The elite of the Movement can do whatever they want.

The people of WaBenzi is so used, they are used that the President can what he wants and say whatever he wants. He can contradict himself, he does that weekly and yearly. If you followed the President. You know he talks against corruption, but let his ministers who is caught in international fraud walk around like nothing happen. The WaBenzi is so used to lied to, that their ignorance and lack of care is natural. They are tired and praying for the ending of the President. Because the President doesn’t plan to leave.

The WaBenzi are used to that the government talk about fair share of resources and development projects, even if the elite in West is getting more, than the Central, Eastern or Northern Regions. The Western has the best schools, the most Cabinet Members and the best infrastructure. The networks of hospitals and other needed government structures are there, but not in the others in that extent. The schools are decapitated, the police stations are unworthy shacks and the government offices for higher officers are looking like mansions for high-end business-men. The mayors and councilors are well-fed, the police-officers are beating on the public to get fed, the school-teachers are having side-jobs or even farming on the side. The civil servants are asking for kick-backs and fill their plate to do their civic duty, because the salary hasn’t risen in decades. If paid on time, it still would barely be enough for the rent of their home.

The hospital are lacking basics, politician of opposition parties are trying now and then to help out. They use their salaries to buy sheets, beds and even medicine. As the national medicine importer and delivery system is understaffed, lack preparation and even the tools to have enough medicine for all institutions. The lack of funding and governance is hurting the hospitals. As they cannot afford to pay their bills, as black-outs and lack of oxygen are common place.

The Electric company is run by private contractors and also private investments from abroad. The development of the energy companies and the plants are all based on either multi-national funding or possible foreign investments. These are done in random, while the different part of the sector is underfunded and also because of the issues from within, is overpriced, hard to get good rates on the electricity and also often blackouts. This hurts the industries, the public, who has to have generators and cannot trust the government run company to deliver enough and stable enough electricity.

The WaBenzi is hurt by the Western, little Elite whose eating of everyone’s plate. They are grabbing it all, while all part of society is hurting. They are not even caring about the Parliament, where the laws are rubber-stamped and secured in favor of the will of the President. The legislation is to favor his agenda and not the good-will of the people. The Elite is more busy securing tenders and their own future, than securing the better institution and society for the public.

The WaBenzi has strict laws on political gatherings, the laws are to secure that no-one will ever have the power or possibly can topple the President. No one should be able to create a protest or demonstrations that could take him down. He has the army and the police on his side. They are keeping people at bay, even invade the Parliament to get his will served. The Courts are listening to him and the orders are happening to his service. Opposition leaders can easily find themselves behind bars, the ones who voices against the Movement will easily get into trouble. That is the state of WaBenzi. Where the thieves and murders walk free and the opposition is the real criminals. Therefore, the trust in the Police and Security Organizations are not there. Because they are misusing their powers to arrest innocent people, activists and youths who are standing up against the President. He cannot manage that.

The government is usually fixing issues that doesn’t matter that much and making sure to make a stamp. Has some sort of campaigns, and making taxes on ordinary stuff, but not making sure the taxation is used properly. That is because the existence of the regime is because they feed the elite. The WaBenzi elite needs the President and the President needs the elite. The chronic patronage and nepotism combined with grand corruption is like daily. The Executives, the funds misused and the mismatch behind the use on programs and what is left to the public is staggering. The President claps his hands and gladly take his percentage of it too.

This is just a story about WaBenzi, how a country became a hostage of an elite that lives on the goodwill of the President. They are there and don’t want change, because they eat. Even if the people starve, even if they cheat on levels of poverty, even if the elite cheats on the amount of people living there and how many projects they have for development. The aid is still coming, the United Nations will still show up and pay for the supper of the poorest of the poor.

While this continues, the liberator who promised to never rig elections. The President has appointed and made sure the Commission who controls the elections are in his favor. The Election Laws are always amended and changed just before. So that the so-called opposition has another disadvantage. Not only that the state is busy giving away gifts to the public during rallies, even busing them to the stages if they have too. Paying off the popular musicians to perform and also pay-off journalists to write favorable coverage. The President is also busy paying the clan-leaders, the religious leadership and even some appointed leadership in the districts. They are getting cars and houses, as a token of their good work and making sure the President is elected again.

The President is also busy using the army and police to harass the opposition in the run-up to the election. Even make them illegal to make a point. The ministers and the Security Organization will defend it as constitutional and say the opposition are making war, not only campaigning. The President will use vile language and say people are fools if they trust anyone else. The Police will bar people, will be more into politics during campaigns, than actually doing police work. The Police will defend their monitoring and the micro-managing of the people. This is all to install fear and secure the President, that people will not really challenge the Presidency.

So after months of campaigning, the elections usually ends with days of tensions. While the Commissions are cooking the numbers, the ballots and the paper-trail, the police is busy chasing the opposition and the civil society. Offices are raided, the media are under attack, the internet is blocked and the observers are watching idly by, while silently saying the process has to move-on and electoral laws can be changed later. It is still progress for society. That WaBenzi had an election, even if it was rigged and the President took total control. He left nothing to coincidence. The public of WaBenzi was props to buy legitimacy for the Presidency, the Commission was another tool and the international observers was there. Just to secure the display of elections was shown. That people could que and wait in line before being registered to vote. Even if there was pre-ticked ballots. Even if the police officers was working and making sure the district got the right result. As the Police arrested people entering or even being party officials registered to be looking over the tally and getting copies from the return officers at the Polling Stations. That doesn’t matter. Because the result has to be in favor of the incumbent President in WaBenzi.

That is just WaBenzi, we are all happy that this what WaBenzi has to offer. This is what the WaBenzi gives of governance, of institutions and of lacking taxation without representation. We are all looking idly by, why the WaBenzi is taken for granted. The President knows this and lives on, happy and ready.

If you demonstrate or try to strike, he will catch and make a treacherous human being, because no one has the power to question the power of the army and the liberation.
