Opinion: Mwenda wants to go down as a government hack

“For those Besigye sympathizers calling me a “regime apologist”, a title I accept with pride, they are “murder apologists”. Why don’t they discuss the elephant in the room- a plot by Besigye to violently overthrow the government and to murder Museveni in cold blood. “Besigye was plotting to murder Museveni. Museveni is a human being. If I were in Museveni’s shoes, I would not even have that man (Besigye) alive because he doesn’t believe in a process. There’s a process of removing government. He doesn’t believe in that process. So he’s subject to the law which he has violated” (Andrew Mwenda, 20.02.2025).

The Independent Editor and spokesperson for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerubaga, the man of words and pseudo-intellectual Andrew Mwenda. The man of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU). That man is now defending the indefensible. This is who he is and wants to be associated with.

We are just seeing how a sell-out and a dishonest hack Mwenda has become. He rather live life on easy mode and be a voice of the National Resistance Movement / Patriotic League of Uganda. That’s what he has decided to do, and this is why he speaks so softly about Muhoozi. This is why he speaks of the General like its closer than kin. Therefore, he hates Besigye because that is endangering his gravy-train.

Mwenda has now ensured his future and meal-ticket. He can be a voice of the Government and the political entity of the Son of the President. Mwenda don’t care about the monarchy or the brutalization of the state. As long as he gets his dues paid and get his profits. That’s what matters to Andrew.

The ones who ever thinks Mwenda is an honest actor or someone who is caring about reporting. That ship has sailed a long time ago. He is willing to sell the next generation for his own pockets. This is who Mwenda has become. There are no moral codes or even a clean conscience. That’s why his throwing Besigye on the fire and pours gasoline on it too.

We know that Mwenda has been scorned by Besigye in the past. He and his kind has been touched by the defiance and the walk to work demonstration. The activists for change and the whole way of protesting the state is harming the calm of Mwenda. He wants to defend the state and be their spokesperson.

Andrew Mwenda will now defend murder. Mwenda will now defend extra judicial killings and torment of civilians, as long as his in the close association of the state. He don’t care about injustice or impunity. Mwenda doesn’t care or is concerned about the liberty, freedom or justice for the citizens in the Republic. No, Mwenda only cares about himself and who he aligned himself with. That’s it…

The ones knowing how Mwenda himself was detained and stood tall as a journalist at KFM radio. The fall off has been over the years and now he has seen how his pockets can be filled. That’s why he has decided this fate.

Andrew Mwenda cannot be seen as an honest reporter or commentator. No, he is one of them and wants to defend the indefensible. He is a hack and a man who is a spokesperson for the tyranny. Mwenda wants to be a beloved character in the surroundings of the tyrant. That’s what he wants, and he shows it on the regular now. Peace.

Opinion: The state has thrown everything at Besigye

The ones believing that Dr. Kizza Besigye did conspire and alleged overthrow of the government. They haven’t seen how the state has done this all before. Over the last two decades and back into the early 2000s. The state has used this and ensured a criminal prosecution of Dr. Kizza Besigye.

No one has been arrested, detained and been in the Courts as much as Dr. Kizza Besigye. He has gotten any sort of charge, usage of the penal codes and been charged with treason already a few times before.

Today isn’t a new day, but a resurrection of old. They are now using the seriousness of the charges to ensure the longevity of incarceration. Besigye is just charged with treachery and treason to take him down. Not because the state has evidence or proof of the criminal conspiracy. No, this is just games to keep Besigye detained and that’s it.

They are now keeping him as state property and that’s their goal. The state just wants the citizen and civilian behind bars. Besigye has gotten the law book thrown at him. They have just handpicked the charges and pinned it on him.

He has incited violence, public nuisance and whatnot. The Public Order Management Act was created as the Anti-Besigye Act. This is why we know the drill and seen the game played before. Besigye is a victim of his popularity and his voice of reason. That’s why the authorities and the state is attacking him. They are now trying to silence him and making a statement keeping him behind bars.

The one’s thinking Besigye has done it. The state still must prove it and show any sort of intelligence. They are just taking Besigye in and keeping him as state property. This is getting old, and the story is already told.

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) is just proving its sinister acts and what it is willing to do. This is what it is does to Besigye and they can do similar to others. That’s all just to silence him and stop him in his tracks. Therefore, they would easily charge him again and take him down. The state doesn’t care, and they will make Besigye a criminal by just living. This because of who he is and what he has done in the past. Peace.

Dr. Kizza Besigye is in critical condition and charged with treason [on his 93rd day behind bars as his ordered back to prison by the Chiefs Magistrates Court in Nakawa]

“Veteran Opposition Leader Dr. Kizza Besigye, his aide Hajj Obeid Lutale, and UPDF officer Capt. Denis Oola have been charged with treason for allegedly plotting to overthrow the Ugandan government by force. According to a charge sheet dated February 20, 2025, the trio is accused of organizing military training in Kenya, soliciting financial and logistical support, and expressing intent to oust the government between 2023 and November 2024. The charges span multiple locations, including Switzerland, Greece, Kenya, and Uganda. In addition, the prosecution has included a charge of Misprision of Treason for failing to report the plot. Their legal team argues the charges are politically motivated and plan to seek bail” (91.2 Crooze FM, 21.02.2025).

Today’s action in the Chiefs Magistrates Court in Nakawa is only created to continue the incarceration of Dr. Kizza Besigye and his associates. They are changing the venue now from the General Court Martial of Makindye. Just as they moved it to the High Court and has a pending case at the Buganda Road Court as well.

Dr. Kizza Besigye is just charged with treason. That is escalating the guns and weapons case, which was created in the GCM. They are just using a “treason charge” to keep him behind bars. They haven’t addressed the charges or the allegations. No, they are just pinning on new charges on Besigye. The guns have vanished into thin air and just exposes the state affairs in this matter.

The ones believing these charges are sincere. They are new to the rodeo. Since his now on remand until the 7^th March 2025. At this moment we are on the 93 days and adding another 14 days. This means the state would have kept him behind bars for 107 days. Meanwhile, the state hasn’t produced any proof of the criminal conspiracy, witnesses or evidence for that matter. Therefore, you know things are just created to keep him incarcerated.

The state just shows what sort of injustice and impunity it does to Besigye. The veteran opposition leader deserves better than this. Any citizen shouldn’t face this and the whole ordeal is made to keep him in detention. Besigye have been charged with treason before in 2016 and in 2005 too. So, we have seen this happening before. The ones adding the treason charges on him. Is only doing it because they have the instruments of the state to do so. Not because they fear that Besigye would intend to do it or was conspiring to overthrow the government, as alleged now and before. That’s a movie we have seen before and time to end with the credits already. Peace.

Opinion: Trump and the AG are the only ones allowed to interpret laws

“Sec. 7. Rules of Conduct Guiding Federal Employees’ Interpretation of the Law. The President and the Attorney General, subject to the President’s supervision and control, shall provide authoritative interpretations of law for the executive branch. The President and the Attorney General’s opinions on questions of law are controlling on all employees in the conduct of their official duties. No employee of the executive branch acting in their official capacity may advance an interpretation of the law as the position of the United States that contravenes the President or the Attorney General’s opinion on a matter of law, including but not limited to the issuance of regulations, guidance, and positions advanced in litigation, unless authorized to do so by the President or in writing by the Attorney General” (Executive Order—Ensuring Accountability for All Agencies, 18.02.2025).

If you ever wonder what a sole custodian of law is like. That’s what the Executive or President Donald J. Trump thinks his able to do. This is what a constitutional crisis looks like and how on is trying to empower one man above them all. That is what a felon is doing in office and says his above the law itself.

President Trump and Attorney General Bondi is now saying they can only interpret and say how a law is to be used. This would block Federal Regulators or Bureaucrats from finding their interpretation of the laws. Therefore, now the President or with guidance from the AG on a matter. That’s how things are moving forward.

This is becoming to the levels of Trumps words are becoming “law”. Whatever whims or ideas that Trump has can now become legislation. That is gist of this and his now the one that sets the standard. It is what it is… and this is what is boils down to.

President Trump is making himself a “King” and a Monarch in a Republic. He wants to be an emperor and a tyrant himself. That’s who he envisions himself to be. Because he wants his words to be law and people to obey him. He wants everyone to be MAGA and be loyal to his every word, as his words are now law. Therefore, don’t expect anything useful or sincere from the White House. No, the White House is self-serving, and the laws will be for the cronies surrounding the President.

An Executive Order of this magnitude is telling. The ability and the mandate the decree is making. The President is telling he is the only one who can understand and interpret the laws. He is the one that directs and calls the shots. That’s what we are getting and this who he is.

President Trump and the AG is now taking total control. The is the consolidation of power… and how one man is taking it for himself. Trump is taking more instruments of the state into his hands and that will be troublesome for whoever takes over after him. Because this is the sort of place that isn’t democratic, but dictatorial.

Trump doesn’t care about the plights of people, but cares about his self. That’s what matters to Trump. He wants glory, accolades and the praise. The President is now taking even more power and he wants you to obey. That’s it. Peace.

Burundi: Ligue Iteka calls out the government atrocities under President Ndayishimiye

“Belgium has recently allocated more than 75 million euros in funding for two provinces bordering Rwanda, whose subsoil reportedly contains abundant minerals, according to the public authority. Ligue Iteka recalls that Belgium, like other Western countries including the EU, had suspended its funding due to the scale of human rights violations and crimes against humanity that were regularly reported by different human rights organizations and United Nations institutions since 2015. Ligue Iteka questions why this shift has occurred and why these two provinces were selected during a period when reports from different organizations show that under President Ndayishimiye’s regime, violations have become increasingly alarming and governance has worsened. With different challenges faced to collect information in a tightly controlled environment, and the harassment of human rights actors, Ligue Iteka has documented 2,559 people killed over the past 4 years and 7 months of President Evariste Ndayishimiye’s rule, including 274 women and girls, 202 people abducted, and 595 victims of gender-based violence (GBV), more than 80% of whom are victims of sexual violence (SV). The phenomenon of bodies found has been seen by Ligue Iteka as a strategy by the government to hide its crimes. Out of the 2,559 people killed, 1,421 bodies were found across the country, with 408 (about 28%) discovered in Cibitoke province, selected for Belgium’s program. All of these bodies were buried without any investigation, despite alerts from different organizations, including Ligue Iteka” (Ligue Iteka, 20.02.2025).

The CNDD-FDD and President Evariste Ndayishimiye cannot hide their extra judicial killings, murders and human rights violations are recorded. The non-government organizations and activists are ensuring the truth of the rulers are remembered. As the Bujumbura and Gitega leadership is getting away from its bloodstains.

President Ndayishimiye uses violence, intimidation and force to silence his opposition. The CNDD-FDD has been known for this for years and it has gotten worse under his rule. The government are using the authorities and state affiliated organizations to make people stop. That’s what is going down…

That Ligue Iteka is calling it out is necessary. They are following the reports of SOS Burundi and others who has done the same. There is a need to report this and speak out about it. The CNDD-FDD needs to be held accountable, and these cases needs to be investigated. The lives were taken, and no one has been answered for. These souls and lives deserve justice and that has been forgotten here.

Just imagine the President has been in office for 1708 days today. He has been in office since 18^th June 2020. Meanwhile 2559 have been killed during this. That is about 1,5 person per day that has been killed during his reign. Meaning that at least one person has died in the hands of his law enforcement and his agents. Possibly making it a daily part of the operation and normalized murder or extra judicial killing. That should worry anyone, and it says how rampant it is.

The people of Burundi deserves better and should have state that defends them. They should have to be afraid or worried about the acts of state security forces. However, law enforcement and security organizations are endangering the population. This is the gist out of it. Yes, Belgium shouldn’t give aid or support the government, but we know they don’t care about the atrocities. That is obvious to everyone who see.

We just have to shine a light on darkness, which is right in front of eyes. Peace.
