Opinion: Nameere is willing to live on a lie

Let’s us all be clear, Justine Nsubanga Nameere isn’t alone in this matter. There are several other candidates and Members of Parliament (MPs) who in the same lane. She’s not alone doing it and her party, the National Resistance Movement is bashing in glory over it. The NRM is partly fixing this and doing it for selfish gains.

That the charade has taken this long and time just proves what sort of games the Nameere MP is willing to do. Certainly, the sort of affair and misuse of power will be good on her CV ahead of the 12th Parliament. As she will be remembered how she stole an election and thanked God for the support after. When she didn’t need God or Jesus, but needed men to pre-tick her ballots and to reconfigure the stats so it seems like she’s winning.

The only ones that is winning in this is the ones who are with shame or honour. People who have no pride or no sort of clear conscience, because you can’t have that and accept this. The people of Masaka city isn’t getting their representative. No, they are getting a pre-selected figure and a person who takes them for granted. She is taking the electorate for fools and mocking them in their face. Her recklessness should follow her and it isn’t prestigious, but vicious.

Like I said, she isn’t alone in it. The Courts and the Electoral Commission is at play here. Everyone is making an attempt to legitimize the affair. However, all their mockery and thievery won’t make it real. Everyone knows the gig and the detriment of it all. Not like we haven’t seen this movie before. This isn’t the only constituency and race the NRM has rigged this season. It has been their play and how they disregard anyone else. They are thinking this is clever and a unique strategy, when they are just holding people in contempt and spitting in their faces.

The high and mighty will one day regret that they did this. Because these stories will haunt the nation. Just showing how blatantly the regime rigged polls and hand picked candidates for offices. Like we didn’t know and couldn’t see it. As if there weren’t videos of the rigging and pictures circulating of the boxes that had been touched. Seriously, who does this people think we are?

She might claim the title of being an honourable, but she’s far from it. This is just disgusting and brutally a stain on her name. It is the sort of thing that will be forever remembered about you. As everyone will remember this what you did and this was the outcome. A scandal that will be yours to own and will tarnishing your name until eternity.

That’s who this person is and she’s proud of it too. It is messed up, but that’s where we are and this the sort of people that is becoming legislators. That’s not sign a trustworthy future, but of someone willing to steal and take without any consequence. If she does it again, well, she did it already once. What stops her from doing it again? Peace.

South Sudan: President Kiir appoints a dead-man to be a part of a committee

Citizens were left shocked and confused after President Kiir included the name of dead veteran politician Steward Soro Budia on a Broad-Based Committee formed to oversee preparations for elections. Budia passed away five years ago, and many initially assumed the appointment referred to his son. However, after carefully reviewing the list several times, citizens confirmed it was indeed the deceased politician’s name. The incident has raised serious questions about the competence of officials working in the Office of the President. Many are now wondering whether the president is fully aware of what is happening in the country, with some blaming those around him for the worsening economic and security situation facing citizens” (Waat Press, 01.02.2026).

On Friday, the President of the Republic, Salva Kiir Mayardit issued a Presidential Order to establish a broad-based body to conduct dialogue on election-related issues. That is fine and dandy in itself, as he tried to pick people from all walks of life, and all stakeholders of the R-ARCSS. All of that is fine itself and not something to directly critique. However, there should have been some scrutiny and someone ensuring the ones appointed actually had a pulse.

The President picked from all walks of life, from all the political parties and civil society to partake in it. Nevertheless, the President and the Office of the President should be able to know whose breathing and whose not. The President should know what veteran politicians are still around and the ones who is late.

President Kiir and J-1 needs help. They need guidance and properly vetting before appointing people. Certainly that the Office of the President does this and it shows how it lacks due process before a Presidential Order or Decree. This got to have consequences and some ramification. Because something is lacking and there is need for some oversight.

Who think a dead man will show up and be part of a report to the President within 45 days, aye? Who?

The dead stays dead. The late won’t suddenly show up and give the President some tea. He might miss the company or the wits of the late. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean his here and can serve him. There is a reason why he haven’t been appointed or sacked by the President recently either. As his just gone and rightfully so.

President Kiir and J-1 needs someone with wits and cleverness, a need of protocol and a need of due diligence, as this shows what they are lacking and what they in desperate need of. They cannot sufficiently serve the nation, if they continue to hire dead people and want them to serve their cause.

Juba needs to figure this one out and fast. They got to, as it is not only humiliating, but exhausting. As they should know better. These people should have the records and know. However, they apparently don’t and live on old memory. It is just really jaded… Peace.
