Ethiopia: The ENAT Party calls the alarm on the increase of massacres in the Republic…

“It has been more than three decades since the tribal politics that our country Ethiopia is running divided our people by ethnicity and ended it without any one to say hi. The massacres that follow this have increased like never before in our country in the last five and six years and their actions are worse than the day by day. It is known by the people of our country and the international community that chose silence” (ENAT, 03.11.2024).

The opposition party, the mother party or the ENAT Party released a Press Release yesterday. As there are defaults and stories need to be published. The radio silence and normalization of the extra judicial killing of civilians in the Republic. The usage of lethal force against unarmed civilians. This is happening at a rate that is astonishing.

The ENAT Party is speaking the truth here. There is a need to tell these stories.

“The mother party has repeatedly emphasized that the power of the country should be taken out of the country and solve the problems by negotiating around the table. Therefore, it has been emphasized in the previous times that all parties should be willing and ready. In a situation where there is no interest in doing this, the mass killings committed by both sides on our innocent citizens are war crimes. When the country comes back to its senses, it should not be forgotten even for a moment that the life of every citizen lost in violence will bring accountability. Our party would like to request this opportunity to allow our poor people to get out of their problems to live until the day passes. It is believed that it was possible to prevent and prevent the massacre that happened in the district and then reduce the damage by melting it. We believe that it is foolishness to look for the criminals and ask for justice to the victims” (ENAT, 03.11.2024).

This government and authorities have failed the nation. The Prosperity Party and the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali have caused more insecurity and more violence while being in office. The leadership itself has chosen the path of war and civil war instead of creating peace. They are inflicting more conflict and more insecurity in the Republic.

That ENAT Party must ring the alarm is concerning. This should have been done by the authorities and the state itself. As it is in-charge and has the supposed monopoly on violence. Because the state is supposed to ensure safety and the livelihoods of the citizens. The state is supposed to create a safe atmosphere and make it liveable. Instead, it is one of the actors and one of the agents of lethal acts. The state is by default one of the reasons why there are massacres and insecurity. The value of human life is decreasing, and the life can easily be taken for one man to consolidate power. That’s who he is…

It is tragic that is occurring and is a regular event in 2024. The massacres are too common, and people’s lives aren’t valued. The Prime Minister and his government have failed the people. That’s what is happening, and the reality is clear. This won’t be resolved anytime soon, as the state rather try to annihilate their enemies than speaking to them. Only if they can compromise or weaken them to a level that they adjust to the needs of the government. Then things will happen and be silent for moment. However, we should never trust an agreement with a warlord.

ENAT Party is speaking the truth, and it needs to said! Lives are at stake… and more people will lose their lives because of the choices the government is making. Peace.

Kenya: Kindiki sworn-in as the loyal deputy

Today, Kithure Kindiki is sworn-in as the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya. The previous Senator and Minister of Interior is now the Second in Command. He has now gotten promoted to the top. His now the man who will carry the weight and be the soft-spoken ally of the President.

This happens after the high flying Rigathi Gachagua got impeached and is out of office. The one who was on the ticket and helped the President to get elected in the first place. Gachagua is rightfully impeached, but the same could be said about anyone in the cabinet or in the Parliament. It was because of his intensity and his ego that he got dropped. He didn’t serve the purpose of which Ruto or his Sugoi mafia needed. That’s why they dismissed him and took his office away.

Now Kindiki who did his magic and acted wilfully as the henchman of the government. His now going from the Minister of Interior, as he was acting with force and viciousness against the critics. They are using methods of abductions, arrests and even lethal means. Therefore, this man has to answer for the years in office as the Cabinet Secretary too. Those years won’t be forgotten and how he addressed the protests. Won’t be forgotten quickly either, as the lives, the hurt and the suffering is continuing as we speak.

It doesn’t help that the IEBC has cleared this but couldn’t hold a by-election. The same authorities that haven’t had the ability to hold elections. Can assess and address the needs of the Head of State. The Commander in Chief needed a hand, and they gave it too him. Just like the judiciary came to his aide too. It is like the whole system is rigged to favour the President and whatever whims he has. Therefore, Kindiki get’s the office and get the promotion to become the Deputy and Second in Command.

Certainly, Ruto will be giddy. He gets a loyal ally, which has followed him for years. Been a voice of reason and a defender of him since 2011. Since the case in the ICC, these two has been in it together and now his there yet again.

We know Kindiki could defend the post-election violence case in the ICC. He had no trouble issuing orders and enforce extra judicial killings in this year too. That’s why Ruto know what sort of person he has at his disposal. As his Deputy he will carry his water and be the loyal comrade he needs.

We can wonder what Kindiki see in this, as he would be more critical and be more vital as the CS of Interior. That’s where he would sway more power and be a bigger man in the grand scheme of things. Now he goes back into the shadow and becomes a ceremonial leader of sorts. That’s a gig his willing to do, as he wants to continue to show loyalty to Ruto.

We can just wonder why he would do so… and what is in it for him. Peace.

Botswana: UDC’s earthquake has forced BDP home…

“Duma Gideon Boko #Botswana President-elect is the leader of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC). A Coalition of Botswana National Front, Botswana Movement for Democracy and Alliance for Progressives). Duma is the Botswana National Front). He served as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly from 2014 to 2019” (Zenzele, 01.11.2024).

In Gaborone and Botswana there is a new day. A total game changer. This is a new normal, as the Umbrella Democratic Change (UDC) is taking power. It is the fall of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP). After close to the 60 years in power and having office. There is now new people and a new team taking over.

That Duma Gideon Boko is the President-Elect and the UDC will have most of the seats in the National Assembly too. He has slammed the previous administration and the party of 58 years. The BDP will just get a tiny minority, and it is compelling.

The outgoing President Mokgweetsi Masisi speech said this:

“We have lost these elections overwhelmingly. I am proud of our democratic processes. Although I wanted to stay on as your president, I respect the will of the people and I congratulate the president-elect. I will step aside and I will participate in a smooth transition process and will support the new administration. He will enjoy my support. I wish to congratulate the opposition on their victory and concede the election. We are quite happy to retreat into being a loyal opposition and to hold the government accountable. We need to give the new leaders space and support the new administration. The public service is apolitical and serves the government of the day. So I expect all focus to shift and stand ready to take instruction and subscribe to the dictates of the new administration. We are Botswana and we will continue and God is always with us” (Mokgweetsi Masisi, 01.11.2024).

Masisi became a one-term President, and he ended an era of the BDP. That is now gone. He should look into himself and what his party did in the final years. Ian Khama, the predecessor of Masisi has campaigned for the UDC and became an enemy of Masisi. Masisi should have been wiser and listened to the elders. Now he has fallen, and he has done so gracefully.

We now will see how the opposition will govern. That’s now up for grabs and we have to see if they will fair differently. As times goes by and power corrupts. You never really know how they will operate and adjust to their new offices. Hopefully for the betterment and do the service delivery that they have promised the electorate. That they would act with finesse and care. They would go after the De Beers and other companies for better agreements. Alas, that is where the scenarios now move.

Boko and his allies have to now step up and carry the weight of the office. They now got to takeover and find their way. There is a new day in Botswana and the UDC is the new government in the Republic. Peace.

Ethiopia: Assimba Democratic Party – Statement (31.10.2024)

There are two main ideologies that are offered as solutions to the current political crisis in Tigray.

The first is the idea that one group must win and lead as a dominant force,

The second view is that an inclusive assumption should be established that involves all political forces in consideration and outside consideration.

The first option cannot bring a lasting solution.

Because we do not have an elected government, the conflict is continued by overthrowing one group and bringing the other group to power but by involving all those who contributed to the war of extermination, whether in power or not. It is a behavior that disrupts our unity and makes us vulnerable to enemies.

Therefore, at this crucial time, the best option and lasting solution for Tigrayans should be to choose an inclusive, inclusive, second option.
