Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim Traoré has survived yet another coup attempt [The 23rd of its kind]

Last night there was uncertainty in the air in Ouagadougou. As the eyes where all on Washington D.C. and Caracas. There was little to no concern about the inner works or the outsiders trying to penetrate the powerful circles of Burkina Faso.

There are now all sorts of rumours floating around, which is hard to verify or get a grasp of. The usual suspect of French involvement wouldn’t be far-fetched, as they have lost the control and doesn’t have a puppet in office. They could easily be behind it and use other for such a scheme.

That Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba is the main culprit seems legit, as he has taken over power before with a coup and now what it takes. Though he isn’t as clever or able to consolidate power in the same way as the Captain Traoré. That’s why he haven’t been able to return and he has been behind other failed coup attempts too.

The known reality that Damiba is in exile in Lome, Togo. That says it all about foreign intervention and sponsors of it. Which means either French or possible Francafrique vibes. That’s why Côte d’Ivoire President Alassane Dramane Ouattara is said to be one behind it and the one that paid the services for the third party France. However, that is just speculation at this point and no proof whatsoever of yet. Though it is plausible and with the rich history of French backed coups in their former colonies. Well, we shouldn’t overlook that and look the other way just yet.

Captain Traoré has survived this yet again. That’s because of loyal people surrounding him and people willing to shield them. They are intercepting it and following the movement of others. If there wasn’t people and fellow comrades doing this. Well, he wouldn’t be the Head of State and be in power today.

This here is just the signature of instability and possible more consolidation of power. As the Captain can become even more careful and be more paranoid. No one would crucify him for becoming that or even thinking that way by now. This man they have gone after and tried to topple over 20 times now. A total of 23 times and there will be more, as long as his stays in office. That’s because of his actions and his policies. They want to retaliate and take that sort of person out, as he is playing with their interests and what they sought after. Which we all know the drill.

Another year, another month, another coup attempt in Burkina Faso. Peace.
