South Sudan: SSOMA and Other Opposition Groups Position on the High-Level Mediation “Tumaini Initiative” for South Sudan – Purpose of the High-level Mediation (Tumaini Initiative) for the Republic of South Sudan (22.06.2024)

“The way in which Burundians are developing themselves is very satisfactory. Regarding the level of agriculture and livestock, it is obvious that each Burundian easily has enough to eat with a surplus of his harvest that provides him with money in his pocket” – President Evariste Ndayishimiye (19.06.2024).
The people, the citizens of Burundi should be disappointed in their President. The CNDD-FDD and the regime itself is reckless in its action. Especially, if you take into account the State of the Nation address of President Evariste Ndayishimiye, which was also a celebration of his fourth year as the Head of State.
The CNDD-FDD should celebrate their power and achievements, but it is on a dire note. The lingering fuel shortage, lack of foreign currency and whatnot is hurting the republic. The Burundian people are hurting and suffering as a consequence of it. The financial distress and such are now a big problem of the republic. The leadership of the republic has to react and do something.
Nevertheless, the President seems to be oblivious to the fact and doesn’t want to act upon it. The national address proves that he doesn’t care or isn’t worried about the plights of the commoner. No, he don’t see it and says they have done what they can.
Just read this here…
“From the beginning of our mandate, we have been committed to promoting food self-sufficiency because we knew that you can’t work without having eaten. We also promised that every person should have the money to support themselves. Today, I am delighted to note that the lamentations of some people are limited only to the lack of certain products to be imported, but obviously do not concern the lack of money to obtain them” (Ndayishimiye, 19.06.2024).
“I am proud of the liveliness displayed by Burundians. Some people build beautiful houses, wear beautiful clothes and eat to their satisfaction and this gives us hope for a better future. Some already aspire to be more comfortable, more in their well-being. It is true that I am aware of some lamentations and grumblings, but it is quite normal that there is one or the other thing to covet in life. However, rest assured, food is abundant in Burundi” (Ndayishimiye, 19.06.2024).
We know this story isn’t true and the dire realization will come sooner or later. The CNDD-FDD is maybe living lavish and having a good lifestyle right now. The elites and the militants of the state is living large, but the others are suffering. There is major pain and troubled waters. Where people are hungry and lacking ability to buy commodities. That’s a fact and people are struggling with higher prices as it doesn’t fit their salaries or even the cost of transportation for that matter. Therefore, the President is mocking these people.
The people should be shocked that this is how little the Head of State thinks of them. That he doesn’t see what they are going through and even cares about their daily struggle. He thinks they are able and additional money in their pockets. However, there are so many who goes hands-to-mouth and begs for a better tomorrow. Those the President doesn’t see and is ignorant about. He doesn’t care about their existence.
That’s what I am hearing and it’s sad. The Head of State should be worried and work endlessly to make things better for the citizens. However, in regards to Ndayishimiye he works for himself and his inner-circle. That’s what I am hearing. Peace.

“If indeed Lwengo Woman MP, Cissy Namujju asked for 20% of Uganda Human Rights Commission‘s annual budget as a bribe to pass their budget as she’s being accused of then she has been eating with her electorate in Lwengo, isn’t it! Please make a round of applause for her” – Juliet Kyinyamatama Suubi, Rakai Woman MP (22.06.2024)
If you believe the root causes of corruption will be solved or be handled righteously. Well, you are wrong. This weekend and the rally in Lwengo which had Rakai Woman MP Juliet Kyinyamatama Suubi and Speaker of Parliament Anita Among in attendance. Certainly showed how it will be fought.
As the Speaker talked about defending and saying they would be punished like children. However, return home after the punishment. Meaning they will be slapped on their wrist or get put in the corner for silent treatment. Nevertheless, when that boring time is over. Then they can return like nothing ever happened. That’s the tune I heard from the Speaker.
While that is outrageous enough, the Woman MP for Rakai district took it to another level. She disregards all common sense and applauds looting. The MP is insinuating that the district or constituency is eating, because their representative is doing it. That’s the obvious understatement of what she said.
That Kyinyamatama MP said this… shows her heart and what she deems as leadership. The my time to eat imperative. The continuation of looting and not be held accountable. There is no proof that the misuse of office and siphoned funds has gotten to the Lwengo district. Most likely it has gotten to the MP herself and her closest associates. They have eaten it and taken the bribe.
Bribes aren’t building the nation. Bribe Uganda Build Uganda is the right usage of BUBU or what?
Corruption are an evil. It is not a necessarily evil either. It is taking away funds from where they supposed to go and to people which it is not intended too. That’s what the MP should see and not celebrate the thieving. This is thieves acknowledging each other and patting each others back. Acting like the thieving is for a common purpose and a betterment of the state. However, we know it is personalized life-style, building own enterprises and keeping a higher upkeep. They are all enjoying the perks of life and living in abundance.
The MP should know better, but she’s jaded in the vision of theft. It is modus operandi and common practice amongst her peers. She is seeing how the others does it and wants to support fellow MP doing it.
A bribe is a bribe regardless. Corruption is corruption regardless. There is no middle ground and shades of grey area here. Just more nonsense and indefensible nonsense, which earns no anything good.
Kyinyamatama MP should be more brighter, but that’s too much to ask. She’s just wanting to part of the clique and be respected among peers. We cannot blame her for that, but it’s just shows how rotten the state is. What the nation has become and how the political elite operate. This is the NRM way and it’s infuriating. Peace.

“Our young people have stepped forward to engage on the affairs of their country. They’ve done their democratic duty, to stand & be recognized. I’m proud of them. We’ll have a conversation with you to identify your issues & work together as a nation” – President William Ruto (23.06.2024)
In Nairobi and elsewhere in the Republic. The Gen Z is demonstrating and protesting with their anger. They are voicing out their discontent and displeased with current state of affairs. The Kenya Kwanza Government is taking them for granted. The Tanga Tanga team of Ruto isn’t saving him now.
Ruto is playing with fire, amidst a cost of living crisis. His adding more taxes and adding more fumes to the fire. While he could have done proper damage control and tried to ease the nation. Instead his been busy with international conferences and meetings with foreign dignitaries. That’s what his been up too. Meanwhile, cities and towns have seen demonstrations and heavy crackdown on the ones participating.
The actions of law enforcement have gotten lethal. They have arrested organizers and activists. People are scorned and hurt. The authorities have used water-canons and tear-gas on the demonstrations. They have used live-bullets too, which shows their readiness to commit murder. That’s not allowing assembly of people or address their discomfort. No, it is a state ready to assault and directly muffle it’s critics.
Ruto is more busy following guidelines and protocol of the World Bank and International Monetary Funds (IMF) than listening to the general public. It is taking the public for granted. Ensuring their plights and suffering continues on the altar of foreign assistance. Foreign Assistance that is needed because of the wastage of public coffers, which has been done in all the years Ruto has been in higher office. Not only now as President, but as Deputy President too. All of the scandals and misuse of power are coming home to roost. The looting and siphoning funds are now coming home and the public has to pay the price for it.
The President has to listen and address it righteously. This is damning to his administration. The ones in power cannot sustain this pressure. They cannot continue like it is. Neither can they keep high profiled people arrested or not show any signs of investigations into the extra judicial killings. They got to act swiftly and with professionalism. These cannot be buried and we know the dead will not be forgotten. That’s why people are retweeting Jacob Juma with his prophecies that is so accurate to this day. The late lawyer saw some things and got taken out early because of it.
Sooner or later, the State House and the people of the Wheelbarrows will learn their lesson. Since this will haunt them. All the arrests, the detained activists and leaders, the ones killed and the ones hurt by all of this. They are the voices that needs to be heard. They got to have a say and shows that the government is on the wrong path.
Ruto is making more enemies and becoming less vibrant as every day goes by. His taking the nation for granted. His taking the next generation for a ride and thinking they will accept it. They are the ones that will pay and will take up his tab. The next up and the future has to pay for his past. That’s distasteful and disrespectful. As we know the wealth of the political elite and how they en-mass has enriched themselves in office.
That is being done while taxing and piling more pressure on the ones who are carrying the future. We all can see that is just wrong. The Kenya Kwanza is failing it’s own narrative, own story and it’s own policies. It cannot even make sense, but only brutal force, which does them no good. Peace.
