Today Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu was bold. Not only in the message he spread to the nation, but the showing partly the location and showing his face for everyone to see. That he went out and the videographer or the showing the scenery of the where he was filming.
If Bobi Wine would have kept it safe. It would have used a brick-wall or a dungeon to film in. That he could use a sort of green-screen and put a Ugandan flag on the back. Instead his showing houses, a yard and everything surrounding it. As his on his 8th Day on the run. Not like his safe or sound. Neither is his family safeguarded or being taken cared off. No, everyone around him is in danger and so is he.
Bobi Wine is daring the authorities, the Special Forces Command, the Internal Security Organization or Defense Intelligence and Security (DIS) for that matter. All of these should be on the look out. Surely, the Uganda Police Force is busy as well. Most likely is Joint Anti-Terrorist Task Force (JATT) on the case too. As all of these are entangled in civilian affairs and we know Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) is embedded in it. That’s why the CDF is so keen on apprehending him and taking him into custody. That’s all that matters to Muhoozi and it’s giving him nightmares.
Today is really compelling, but now the authorities will study the clip and do what they can to figure out the location. Even use GPS and find meta-data to find him. Bobi Wine and his allies should continue to run and also possibly find other clothes to wear. As it signifies him now. That hoodie has to be changed and fellow comrades has to give other clothes to wear. This is if he will be able to be hidden and undercover. Be a maverick and be able to move.
The Presidential Candidate and the leader of National Unity Platform (NUP) have shown character and been bold today. Now he has to run for cover and again run. He cannot stay in this location or close too it. That’s because they will find it and they will study it. This won’t be place of ease and sooner or later the authorities will find it. Maybe it will be to late when they find out. However, he dared and challenged them.
As everyone knows that he dares them by doing it. They are trying to hit him where it hurts and go after his loved ones. Like that will break him and tear him down. Instead it is just showing how vile and despicable the rulers are. This is the liberation and freedom they claimed to give. This is how they are protecting the gains and steadying progress. That’s how they rule the nation and how they won the election. With blunt force and intimidation. They have the incite fear…
It took courage… and he was brave. Still, he now has to run again. Peace.

Fellow Ugandans and friends of Uganda all over the world,
My name is Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert, also known as Bobi Wine.
Today is 24th January 2026. It has been exactly 8 days since I escaped from home following a raid carried out by the military and police at my house, on orders of Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Museveni’s son and the Chief of Defence Forces.
We had earlier received intelligence from our friends within the army that he had issued orders to his men to come and harm me. So when we saw them jumping over our fence on 16th January, I somehow escaped from my home and left.
That night, they did not enter the house. They stopped in the compound. Three days ago, once again, they jumped over our fence, hurled profanities at my wife, and threatened to break into my house.
That was the second time. Last night, for the third time, they came in hundreds, according to my wife. They broke every door in our house, including those that were not locked. They took away all our documents: academic documents, land title deeds, and all important papers. They took every gadget — phones, chargers, our internet system, and all laptops, including the children’s school laptops. They also took away our CCTV camera and destroyed anything they could destroy.
They broke glass and even cut our chairs. They put my wife at gunpoint, demanding that she show them where I was. They forced her to remove passwords from our phones and laptops, but she refused. These are just some of the many things Museveni’s regime is doing through his son and others.
These are not signs of strength.
These are signs of weakness.
If Museveni claims that he won the election, why is he panicking?
Why is he doing all these terrible things?
Why is he harassing me and my family?
These are signs of shame.
These are signs of illegitimacy.
My message to you, fellow Ugandans:
I am not in my home because I still want to be able to speak to you like I am doing now.
I am not in my home because my life is threatened.
I take this opportunity to thank the international community for the voices they have raised, and to encourage them to keep an eye on Uganda — especially at these critical times.
Fellow Ugandans, this is our country.
All that is being done is meant to intimidate us.
They have abducted two of my Deputy Presidents:
Lina Zedriga and Hon. Jolly Jacklyn Tukamushaba.
We do not know where they are.
They have arrested Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi, my Deputy President in charge of the Buganda region, and many other comrades — all to sow fear among us.
I encourage you to be strong.
Be smart.
These people are not as strong as the people — and they are certainly not as smart.
They have failed to find me for eight days.
I also tell you this: we must never give up.
Uganda is our country.
We must fight and liberate it.
I will resurface at an appropriate time to advance our struggle.
In the meantime, I am trying to stay safe.
I am trying to stay alive.
And I will continue communicating with you.
We shall overcome.
We shall be free.
People Power. Our Power.
