The Final 18 from the NUP Campaign Team released on Bail after 6 months in jail

Today several members and activists, important parts of the campaign team of Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine have been released from prison. They have been kept behind bars and charged by the state since 30th December 2020. As they were captured on the campaign trail ahead of the final stretches of campaigns ahead of the polls in January 2021.

Today, the National Unity Platform (NUP) is celebrating the releases of them finally. This is Eddie Mutwe, Nubian Li, Dan Magic and others who have been released. They have all been detained without any reason or proof of their supposed crimes. What is really unique about this case. Was the NUP Campaign Team was arrested and charged for crime, which they couldn’t have committed. As they were already behind bars before the criminal conspiracy or moment could even happen. That is in the paperwork of the charges and trials. Therefore, the state is willing to do whatever to get opposition people behind bars.

The state used the Anti-Terrorist Law and other means to keep them behind bars. Even Court Martial civilians, which isn’t a part of the army or commanders who has misused their office or been deserting soldiers leaving battle. Therefore, the state has willingly kept these folks for so long.

It fits it perfectly that it happens after the Swearing-In and the Parliament is now in sessions. The Members of Parliament is in order. The Cabinet is getting vouched for and is officially appointed. That’s why its happening now and taken this long.

The Election season is over and it’s back to ordinary days ahead. Where the state can run back to normal and not be stressed by the NUP. This is why they are released today. However, they are released on bail. Meaning the case is still “working” and the state can re-issue it. If they are “finding” evidence or “proof” of it. Which most likely be fabricated like the bullets and guns… that was pinned on Bobi Wine back then.

So, expect that the state can suddenly make them return and especially if these people are disregarding court orders or meeting to trials in the future. If they are not posting up in time and for the courts. Then they are “criminals” and could face penalties for it. That is just the nature of things. It is not justified, but the papers are their and the state has these powers. Which is a worry and something the state willing to do.

It is sort of a halfway celebration today. The are partially freed. Just like the cold-cases and the not finished charges and criminal cases pinned on opposition leaders. The new prison of Kitayla have been useful and expect it to be used. The same as Nalufenya and Luzira Prisons as well. These are well-known for a reason. Because, of how the state operates and use the law enforcement for political means. They are more vicious to attack the opposition, than actually catch real criminals and hoodlums. That’s just what it does and it has been known for ages.

So, today someone who was charged and been detained for 6 months for crimes they never committed. The only thing they did was participate in an election and challenged the President. Which is a cardinal sin and they offended the Don. That’s why they deserved this suffering and being behind bars. The NUP has paid a huge price and they are continuing to doing this to this day.

There are more people behind bars and activists who still awaiting their trial and get freedom. However, the state is just pursuing all means to show their power and intimidate the opposition. They want to prove a point and this is what they are willing to do. Peace.

A look into the “Rigged” Report [the 11th May 2021 Edition]

Today was the day of the 7th Swearing-In Ceremony of President Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni. The 6th Ceremony held at Kololo Independence Ground and the 6th Ceremony of this kind held on the 12th May in the election year. Well, the President has now concluded this election.

Though I will dig into the important material in the Report released called “Rigged” which was published with a new edition yesterday. Dr. Nico Schoonderwoerd with acknowledgements to Bruce I. Afran and Robert Kyagulanyi and the National Unity Platform (NUP) for certain aspects of the report, which was in the original published on the 17th March 2021.

I will look through and drop my notes on the matter in between the pieces of information. Which say a lot about the conducted elections of January 2021. I will not look into the voter intimidation and bribery. Neither address the senseless violence, impunity and misuse of the authorities in favour of the regime. That I have discussed in length in other articles. Here I feel the “head-shot” or the “winning ticket” is the ballot box stuffing and Post DoR Fraud.

I will begin with this quote:

In the various regions we see the different types of rigging being applied in a different way.

In most cities it was difficult to stuff the ballot-boxes, so the effect of voter intimidation becomes more clear. Gulu City shows how enormous the intimidation was up north, as is supported by the statements in our Chapter on the North. Ballot box stuffing is indicated by high turnout & high percentage of Museveni votes. In the top right of the diagram (courtesy Melina Platas) we do not only see Western districts, but also Northern districts such as Amudat” (Schoonderwoed, P: 9, 2021).

There are now saying that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the President lost Baganda (Central Region) in this election. However, by the state of things. The evidence coming forward proves only that the results there are more close the reality. As the rigging was as extensive as in the other regions. This means, they deliberately gave up a part and knew the rigging elsewhere would secure the victory anyway.

A very interesting finding of the rigging was the finding on page 57, which says:

Since the ‘election fingerprint’ of these 3 elections is similar to the fingerprints identified as fraudulent by Peter Klimek et al we can apply their conclusion that the Ugandan elections results of 2011, 2016 and 2021 do not represent the will of the people. When the authors designed these fingerprints they assumed that the numbers would always be between 0 and 100. However, in fraud every number is possible. Although the tally sheets do not show any turnouts of over 100% (it’s prevented by the software), an inspection of the Declaration of Results (DoR) forms show that in many cases of ballot box stuffing ‘overstuffing’ took place and the DoR form shows more ballots casted than registered voters” (Schoonderwoed, P: 57-58, 2021).

This here just shows the algorithm and the difference numbers through the process of counting the ballots doesn’t add up. There are more casted ballots than registered voters. That is just the proof of the misgivings of this election and how it was predetermined. When this sort of malpractice is securing one man to “win”.

The main contributor to the rigging of these elections was ballot box stuffing. 409 polling stations across Uganda saw a 100% voter turnout, which is impossible give that the voter register is fixed 10 months before the elections. A total of 1333 polling stations had a voter turnout of 90% and according to election experts that is not possible under free & fair elections. Scientific research is presented in the form of election fingerprints that show that the correlation of high voter turnout and high Museveni scores is typical for rigged elections such as in Uganda and Russia” (Schoonderwoed, P: 76, 2021).

This here shows the proof and the systematic rigging. This is just the technical aspect of it. Not all the other techniques used, which is important, but the end-game of any election is the numbers-game. Where the winner takes all and the majority matters. An rigged election just needs the numbers, but not the true will of the general public or the voters. That is the gist of it.

A nation wide comparison of DoRs collected by UVote and official tally results show over 120 polling stations where the DoRs were illegally changed or fraudulent. One such DoR for the Nebbi Anyang polling station received international attention after the Electoral Commission denied that 84 Kyagulanyi votes were changed into 8 Kyagulanyi vote” (Schoonderwoed, P: 77, 2021).

This here is just a final one and shows the acts being made by the state to ensure another term for the incumbent. There was not other way to see this. The “Rigged” Report is very clear and addresses the significant actions made and what it resulted in.

We know today that it went into as usual, that every five years Museveni swears himself in at Kololo Independence Grounds on the 12th May of the election year. That happened today because of the “legitimacy” the recent election gave him. Though the Report shows that he stole and bashes himself in glory of rigging an election. That is really tragic, but the Report also states facts many of us has said. That this regime rigged the 2011 and 2016 as well and the ‘election fingerprint’ evidence shows that.

So, if people are saying “Museveni is not my President”. I understand them. This election is yet another one he rigged to rule supreme. He doesn’t have the love of the people, but is elected by the algorithm, ghosts and goats, not voters as he should have been. However, that is not important when you value guns, arms and heavy weaponry over the public. That is why the Report is important to show the way the regime did it and prove it to the whole world to see. Peace.

National Youth Council: Displeasure about the Cabinet Decision to Scrap the National Youth Council through Merging (13.04.2021)

Bobi Wine’s Team has now been detained for a 100 days!

Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and his team was arrested on the 30th December 2020 in Kalangala District. At that point the authorities, the army and Police Force was co-ordinating an operation to detain the Campaign Team for the National Unity Platform (NUP) Presidential Candidate. This was weeks ahead of the polls in January 2021.

We have now seen the Bobi Wine team being behind bars for 100 days. They have been charged and been presented in front of the Court Martial. This meaning civilians captured for no apparent reason is charged in a manner of soldiers or high ranking officials in the military.

They have no been for months been detained in the Kitalya Prison. These are political prisoners who are just there because they are associated with Bobi Wine. There is no other proof or reason for their arrest. This is why there been no evidence or affidavit settling these cases. They are just kept as a retaliation for going against the incumbent and the Self-Styled President for Life.

Over 90 people is kept detained in this facility just for a simple reason: They offended the Don. The junta leader and President for life. They went ahead and campaigned for Bobi Wine. That is the cardinal sin of their actions. However, there is nothing treasonable about that or “illegal”. Unless, the state revises all laws and makes it illegal to campaign against his reign. That is the only thing missing from the ageing president.

A President who is smugly spending time time with musician Akon and dropping propaganda from his farm. They are clearly living like nothing happened and the efforts of the elections is supposed to be forgotten already. The state has just kept over 90 people locked up without any probable cause. There is no “evidence” or “intelligence” proving the reason for their arrests. Other than retaliation and retribution politically. The state is only doing this to prove a point. That no sincere candidacy or party should challenge the High Above.

That is why they are still detained and in detention. That is done in such a fashion, which is foolish at best. The Bobi Wine’s Team was arrested on the 30th December 2020 and this was done for “crimes” committed on the 3rd January 2021. So, these men who was already detained and pre-emptive arrested committed a crime 4 days later. That is really a work of magician and Houdini would want to know how they we’re able to do that trick.

Still, we are supposed to spread the good message that Museveni is gracing his cows. While Bobi Wine’s Team is still kept detained and not accessing their freedom. They have lost their liberty and rights to be politically affiliated. That is the sort of message we get out of this. The old man is telling the world in the Republic there is only officially one party and if your not behind that. You deserve to rot in jail. This is at least the memo I get from this. Peace.

Opinion: The battle for speaker is a futile enterprise

This happened in 2016..

Been reading comments by opposition supporters and others who is suddenly addressing the National Unity Platform plan to field a speaker in the race for the 11th Parliament. They are the biggest opposition party and have a loyal following. So, I don’t see a problem with them doing so.

While Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) supporters are calling foul and saying the opposition should support their candidate Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, the Opposition Whip in the 10th Parliament.

Because the FDC supporters are now calling the NUP meal-ticket and only thinking about their stomachs for not supporting Ssemujju Nganda. Don’t they see their twisted tongues with this?

They are the ones that is always talking about multi-party elections and having more challengers to have a real choice. Why not have it in the Speakership race this time around?

We know the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and their Special Groups MPs will vote in unison for the NRM candidate and the ones decided to be picked by NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC). That wouldn’t be shocking at all and would be mandatory at this point.

There is nothing wrong with Ssemujju Nganda. He has experience and is a bright fella. I would not deny him that. However, the other opposition parties should field their candidates the way they see fit. It is not like the FDC is not running candidates everywhere they can at any given time. The FDC have run in every by-election they can and rarely run joint-candidates with the opposition. Therefore, it is a bit hypocritical to blame the NUP at this point for fielding their if they do.

This race is already won by the NRM. No matter who the opposition is fielding…. It will end nowhere. Just like the “independent” MP Muhammed Nsereko after the previous election tried to become speaker as well. Ssemujju Nganda will end up with the same results. The NRM will not let the Opposition have this privilege and this high office. I doubt that and it would be a shock if that would ever happen.

Therefore, when I read FDC supporters calling the idea of seeking office of other automatically “meal-ticket” and only feeding their own tummy. Maybe they should do some soul searching and look at their own. They are the ones who field candidates at any By-Election possible and rarely seek for joint candidates. The FDC have usually, if possible fielded their own. So, that there are one from them and from others. Which the FDC should, but then they shouldn’t attack the NUP for doing thing.

The FDC have been vital and been the biggest opposition party. They have been on the frontline an fought for a good cause for so long. That is undeniable. They have been a party, that can still inspire and be important in the times ahead. However, they should also show some humility and grace towards the newcomer.

Bobi Wine and NUP should show their strength and use their place in parliament. Not only be friendly cousin and await what the FDC does. The NUP runs on their own agenda, just like the FDC does. They are maybe in some respects working for the same ends, but they trying different approaches to it.

This is why. When I am reading dismissing and arrogant stances towards the NUP possibly fielding someone in this race. I am in sorrow and disbelief. The same party never really gave way to anyone or only did so… when they candidate was the top notch. The Besigye was in the IPC Alliance (2011). FDC was wise enough not to joint the TDA (2016) and neither did they have joint candidates in 2021. So, why should NUP just bow down to the FDC? Who are they kidding here?

Ssemujju Nganda might be the best speaker in the whole wide world. He might be a great narrator and have a beautiful mind. Still, his the FDC candidate and rightfully so. The NUP can decide either their own or not. Just like the FDC could choose another path as well, if they pleases to do so.

There got to be some sense to these proceedings and some justification. I am just disgusted by reading the disregard for NUP’s own way here. They should choose their path, just like the FDC does. That is only fair. Unless, the FDC has now a new plan of more joint work and actually forge alliance for the betterment with others. I am looking forward to be seeing that. Since it’s a decade ago since the IPC was a thing and the United Forces of Change (UFC) ahead of 2021 haven’t done anything useful. Peace.

Opinion: Museveni is the misleader

I am very happy to have attended this summit. We discussed some serious issues, including the issue of the disappearance of people. I have information about the disappearance of people. The security forces also have some information on this same and this will be made available in a disciplined way. I will ask the DPP to review the charges and organize a soft landing for some of the suspects in security detention because they have helped us to learn the schemes of their misleaders” – President Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni at the IPOD Summit on the 5th March 2021

One definition of misleader is: “someone who leads astray (often deliberately)” (misleader – link:https://www.thefreedictionary.com/misleader). The old man with the hat is a man who does this deliberately. He says and acts like he doesn’t know, but everyone knows that he knows. Therefore, the IPOD Summit today and his speech is intentionally deceiving.

President Museveni can speak of peace, but wages war instead. He speaks of democracy, but detains his opposition. Therefore, the biggest misleader is himself.

By all means, he wants to look at Robert Kyagulanyi, Kizza Besigye and elsewhere as the misleaders, but he himself is the biggest one. Like for instance, as the Commander-in-Chief. The old mans knows who has ordered and who has kidnapped, abducted and been in-charge of the atrocities in the Republic.

President Museveni can act a fool, but we know that he knows. He knew who did it and who ordered it. Even if he ordered the arrests, the detentions in “safe-houses” and tortures of civilians participating in the opposition. He also knew if opposition activists and leaders was court martial as civilians in a military court. Also not getting bail or getting evidence of their supposed “criminal offence”. So, the political charges and injustice continues.

That shows hows insincere the old man is. That he thinks people cannot think for themselves. As the President appoints and delegates these roles in the Security Agencies and Organizations. The President has his men who does his bidding. If it is Chieftain of Military Intelligence (CMI), Internal Security Organization (ISO), Uganda Police Force (UPF) or Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF). Any of these are all following his command and his orders. So, if he feels like it and would like to hurt Bobi Wine. He could easily order the murders, the abductions and the kidnappings of it. While his Ministers acting dumb or stalling the truth from being released to the public.

President Museveni knows who is ordering the “drones” or “panda gari’s”. It could be even himself. Museveni could easily order the take down of Boda Boda 2010 and other organizations to connected to former IGP Kale Kayihura. That is why we know, that he wanted the atrocities to stop. He could just say the word and the activity would cease. However, the old man want to spread fear, intimidate and silence the opposition. As he doesn’t want a real challenge to himself. He knows he isn’t popular anymore and needs fear to boost himself in public.

It is really rich that he himself said this: “We are always ready to explain and also listen to the explanation of others. Unfortunately, some people have abandoned dialogue” (Museveni, 05.03.2021). Mr. I didn’t Respect the Nairobi Talks and the Dialogue in 1985. Mr. I rather bury my enemies and consolidate power, than actually have the full popularity as the mighty General. Talks ill of other people leaving a dialogue. When the state is not really showing any remorse or care for the acts its does. That shows the deceiving ways of Museveni and the NRM. When he thinks people are this stupid and eating of his hands.

Not like he will care of fix this. Unless, he feels in control or been able to silence the opposition. The President cannot expect the parties who has been scorned and hurt by the acts made by his men. Will suddenly talk and speak of peace. When there is no action towards all the lost and the ones suffering. Just because they are political active in the opposition. The President only wants to have them there for a publicity stunt. The IPOD didn’t happen today to make a difference, but it would have made more impact if the FDC and NUP had showed up. However, they knew what was up.

That is why the President is unhappy. He wanted them there as token pieces and show his “multi-partyism” but he didn’t care about that during the campaigns, the rallies, the road-blocks and all other activity to stop them from doing their political work ahead of the polls. The President is never accountable for that, but expect the same opposition who is blocked from sleeping in hotels to show up for his PR stunts. That is how insincere he is and he deserves to be rebuked.

If the President believed in dialogue, why did he block the internet and social media? Is that a manner of someone who let people talk? No, his mindset is only for his own selfish gains and not caring about the others. He would never accept the conditions he put on others. If he went through what the FDC has done over the years or what NUP went through this campaign. He would have run to the bush and waged war against himself. That is just a mere fact in all of this.

The biggest misleader is Museveni himself. He may not know it himself, but someone got to tell him that. Right now, it just happens to be me. Peace.

Opinion: An IPOD-Summit in 2021 is just a publicity stunt

That today, the Inter Party Organization for Dialogue (IPOD) isn’t that relevant or have the finesse. It hasn’t had that for years. It’s been a waste of time and space. Only relevant for the President to have some “opposition” spectacles and mirage of multi democratic ideals. While we damn know he doesn’t aspire to does or work for it either.

President Museveni gets photo-op with Opposition leaders and write a small useless communique from a Summit. Not like it will amount to anything. Other than a few headlines and moving-on to the next unresolvable issue.

IPOD is as relevant as Apple’s own IPOD. Just like the tape-deck had its time. So did the Ipod too. The IPOD is irrelevant and it has happened, because the state and authorities haven’t cared for it and neither has the President.

The opposition parties in question ditching out is just wise of them. Just to prove a point. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) will name-call and call them useless. No matter what they did. They would call them that and ridicule them. Therefore, the dialogue is a waste of time. When the premise for it isn’t set or have any sort of fruitful agenda. It is just a puff piece and a PR stunt.

The IPOD is the radio-single nobody is asking for but is now overplayed. It has no value. Other than a catchy hook and headlines but will not be remembered for anything in 5 years’ time. Heck, nobody will remember the one-hit- wonder anyways.

President Museveni can show off and be proud that his meeting Mao and Akena. His loyal token opposition. The ones who has allies in his huge cabinet. Men who attacks the staunch opposition and see them leaving the folds. DP has lost so many over the last year and UPC is far from greatness.

IPOD is a useless enterprise with nothing to offer at this point. That is deliberate by the President and his men. His not investing in it or caring about the outcome. He just want to show-off opposition to outsiders and backers. To give it a self-belief of “multi-democracy”. While we are supposed to forget about the horrific actions, arbitrary arrests, abductions and extra judicial killings done to opposition activists, leaders and members.

The President and IPOD cannot overshadow the drones, the massive assault on the opposition and the hardships it is in. Some few kind words and poetic injustice cannot be flattered, but only amplified by the misgivings of the state. Therefore, IPOD at this day and age is totally useless. It got nothing to give and there is no interests in it.

It is insincere and living on a lie. The lie that the President cares and wants dialogue. When we know that he rather bury his enemies, than actually talking with them. Peace.

Opinion: Nabakooba don’t want to see or hear anything

You have tarnished our country’s image more than enough, it’s better you stop” Judith Nabakooba (01.03.2021).

Some people want to blind and deaf. One person like that is the current Minister for ICT and National Guidance Judith Nabakooba. She rather that nobody talks. No one says a thing and moves on in life. Everyone just accepts that their loved ones are disappearing, that their loved ones are abducted and held incommunicado. I am sure if it happened to a relative of hers. She wouldn’t post about on social media or ask for help. No, she would remain silent and not say a word.

The honourable minister should reconsider her stance. It is not the opposition that is the issue. It is the state and all of its security organizations, which needs to be held accountable and take responsibility for their actions. It isn’t National Unity Platform (NUP) fault that their members, activists, candidates and associates are taken without warrants, charges or arrested through ordinary procedures.

So when she says stuff like this, she must really not care about the citizens in legal jeopardy:

They spend most of their time posting fake news about the country. They post photos of dead bodies, violence and so forth and this scares away our tourists” (…) “I see most of them deceiving Ugandans with very fake propaganda. They have spent a lot of time discussing US warships as if this brings food on the table of the people who voted for them” (…) “It’s time for the youths to move on and start working for themselves instead of feeding on lies from politicians” – Nabakooba (01.03.2021).

I expect Nabakooba to be silent as the grave if any of her in-laws, any of her family or friends are taken without any due process. That she will not say a word or cause any alarm. She will just await their destiny and their fate in the hands of authorities and the law, which wasn’t served properly or just to the ones abducted, kidnapped and detained without charges. These folks was taken because of their political affiliation. They were tortured, brutally arrested and some even killed.

That is the sort of thing Judith don’t want to hear or see. It damage the image that people talks about it. The Pearl of Blood is being revised for 2021. The Panda Gari’s of our Generation and the “Drones” are in the city. We are just supposed to not tarnish the name of the Republic and let bygones be bygones.

I wonder how that go when the government cry havoc over losing Facebook profiles and pages, but the opposition isn’t supposed to talk about arrests, tortured and extra judicial killings. It isn’t the opposition that abducts, tortures or kills. No, it is the vicious state and its officers who has taken the law into their hands and doing the bidding of the chain-of-command. They are the ones responsible and need to change their ways. It isn’t NUP, FDC or anyone else’s fault. No, it is the ones ordering the drones and the “safe-houses”. They are the ones tarnishing the image of the state.

Its the ones accepting this practices, this acts of deviousness and sinister approach to governing. It isn’t the fault of the opposition for crying and suffering. Hell to the NO. Nabakooba better be like a made-man in the mafia when someone scorns her loved ones. If she is so afraid of the image. She better remain silent when “the shit hits the fan”.

That is if she really means things. I hope it is a political stunt, but its really infuriating blaming the victims and their leaders for speaking out. Peace.

Opinion: Gen. Museveni needs the army and that’s why its never leaving the hallow halls of Parliament

The 10 UPDF MPs were put in the constitution on account of our history. They would be like a listening post to what is happening in Parliament” (…) “The NRM/A liberated the country together with peasants. After we realized that the army can’t govern the country and we handed it over to civilians. The country is not ours, it is yours, we are also just part of it” – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (Kenneth Kazibwe – ‘Museveni warns army MPs against defying him as he lists priorities for new term’ 30.01.2021, NilePost.Co.Ug).

If it wasn’t for guns, ammunition and heavy weaponry General Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni wouldn’t be in power. The old man with the hat wouldn’t be relevant or even have any sort of influence in the Republic without the army behind him. This man isn’t there because of the love of the people or his popularity. No, this old man rather kill his grand-children and everyone who stands in his way. That is why political affiliation with National Unity Platform (NUP) is close to treasonous and grounds for abductions, torture and possible death in the hands of state security organizations.

So with that in mind. The General does need the services of the Chieftain of Military Intelligence (CMI), Internal Security Organization (ISO), Uganda Police Force (UPF), Special Force Command (SFC) and Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF). All of these organizations is working for him and he wouldn’t be as “strong” or “above the law” without ordering these all around on a whim.

Museveni will never let go of the army and its connection to civilian life. He needs the votes of military men in Parliament. That is an successive way to a majority without an election. These are bound by law and by chain-of-command of the army to follow their general i.e. him. They will automatically “give to Caesar what belong to Caesar” and he knows this.

We know the military have involved itself everywhere in civilian matters. That is why they are monitoring together with law enforcement the opposition leaders. They are used as operatives to control the political movements of the Republic. That is just a sad reality that this government is promoting.

The General have appointed military men all-over to all sorts of ministries. Made military men ambassadors and participated directly in the cabinet. So, he needs them all around and they are vital to his reign.

Also, the military have for some reason been involved in delivering mosquito-nets and going after illegal fishing in Lake Victoria. The army is part directly running beauty pageants even. The UPDF have a big role in Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) and National Agriculture Advisory Services (NAADs). That meaning they are part of micro-loans, cash-crop development and so fourth. None of these are the supposed role of an army.

An army is supposed to safeguard the territory and shield the citizens from foreign invaders. Instead they are measuring the beauties of woman candidates for a pageant and checking if seedlings is correctly delivered to the Teso region. That shouldn’t be a thing, because how is this furthering the mandate of the army and making the Republic more safe? Why are they picking Miss Uganda or doing the logistics for Ministry of Agriculture? That shouldn’t be a thing, but it is…

The UPDF MPs are there to rubber-stamp and ensure the will of the General goes through. He has loyal allies that will never speak up against him and is only there to always have the majority to get his way. To think otherwise is naive. They are not there to represent a unique and special group. These are supposed to serve the Republic and do their duty. The army isn’t supposed to be involved in civilian matters, but ensure the civilians are safe. That is a big different.

Just like the army courts, the Court Martial shouldn’t be used to charge and be on trial as civilians in front of judges there. They are not enlisted or part of the UPDF. Therefore, the usage of the Court Martial towards the NUP Campaign Team and associates is foolishness. As that is outside their mandate and jurisdiction. They are not soldiers or high ranking officials who didn’t follow army command. No, these are civilians participating in a campaign for presidency for an opposition candidate. Which is without any legal grounds “effectively treason” but they will only postpone the judgement as long as possible. Just so the army can keep them hostage and detained with no other reason than as a statement to not challenge the almighty general.

This here is… just showing the military is embedded in the government and done for a reason. It is the reason why the General doesn’t need the public, but is addicted to the guns. The old man needs the soldiers and troops to follow his every move. They need to be part of every single institution and be there to listen to every heat-beat. The UPDF will go after and use their influence to ensure the old man has all power. The mandate is supposed to secure the border and avoid an invasion, but instead they are busy checking if Bobi Wine has sneezed. That is what they do and why Museveni will never let them off the hook. That is what an addict does and this is what gives him “a high”. Peace.

Uganda Police Force (UPF): Uganda Police Message – Implementation of COVID-19 Regulations (22.02.2021)
