Since 26th January 1986 and the official takeover of Kampala, there been one individual who has imposed himself on the people and taken the reigns. In the beginning the man himself did that with Legal Notice No. 1 of 1986. That suspended parts of the 1967 Constitution. Where the National Resistance Army (NRA) takes all power, which means Museveni as the Chairman of the NRM (National Resistance Movement (NRM) becomes the Executive and the National Resistance Council (NRC) become the legislative powers and it would run as the Parliament. Therefore, the whole ordeal was to takeover and have complete control of the nation. This story has to be remembered. Because, that’s how he imposed himself on the nation after losing in the 1980 elections by a landslide.
He has since then imposed himself steadily by rigging elections. That’s been done by deliberate actions, which we all have seen present in the recent General Election of January 2026. This is just the latest run of this scheme. He has done this so systemically and ensured all parts of the state is jaded to secure the majority for him and his fellow cadres. That’s the correct line and what he wants to achieve.
President Museveni haven’t done any of this default. He has done what is necessary to get donor will and donor goodwill. That’s why he had to unleash a new Constitution of 1995 and hold elections in 1996. Even when he had no intentions of opening up or even reform the Movement System, which he held the nation captive with. That’s what was started with the Legal Notice No. 01 of 1986.
We are now here in 2026 and know that he needed two referendums just to launch the Multi-Party Democracy again. However, that has always been weak and been just to give him legitimacy. As the Electoral Commission and the authorities has been coordinated with the NRM. They haven’t worked as independent institutions or been beholden to the rule of law. No, everyone has been appointed and been subjects of the ruler, which is now shown by how the Judiciary or the Courts are doing the bidding of the President and his Men. That’s it…
If this man didn’t use the army, the security organizations and all sorts of police officers. Well, Museveni wouldn’t be here in 2026. He would have been long gone and the various of security organizations wouldn’t exist either. There is enough safe-houses, dungeons and prisons that is full of people who stood up and dared to challenge his existence. That’s why they are detained and behind bars, which is why we know about Nalufenya or Mbuya Military Barracks. There is a reason why we know so much about Kigo or Luzira. That’s because so many good gentlemen are detained there for no other reason than defying or resisting the President. Therefore, this President can speak of the devil, but he surely has devious himself.
President Museveni is describing himself and his own rule yesterday. His vilifying Idi Amin, but should look into the mirror. General Museveni needs to address what he himself has done since January 1986 and what he did in the bush. He has sins to answer for and people who he has touched. People he has touched out of greed and the need to stay in office. That’s what the President has to answer for, either now or in the afterlife. Peace.
