Opinion: Museveni got a bullet for you…

“Don’t listen to [Robert] Kyagulanyi; his comments [about our security] lack foresight. His claim that there are not enough soldiers to match rioters is misguided. One soldier carries 120 bullets… do the math. Uganda can not be destabilised, and anyone who attempts it will live to regret” – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (17.12.2025).

The old man with the hat became a soldier to liberate himself and not the nation. The Republic was a useful tool, and he know is addressing it like cattle. The cow herder and farmer himself proclaims that the Law Enforcement and Soldier has plenty of bullets ready. That is telling and not compelling.

This isn’t the words of a liberator or a custodian of the righteousness. No, this is warlordism and misuse of force against unarmed civilians. The Head of State is saying he got plenty of arms and lethal bullets prepared for civilians. He is willing to shoot and kill rioters, demonstrators and anyone who dares to defy the state. That’s the message and we have seen how the state does this. We saw the November 18 massacre of demonstrators in 2020 ahead of 2021 General Election. So, his now preparing for something similar, and we could mention the actions of the state in Kasese too. Which is why the state has displayed this sinister fact before and would easily do again.

President Museveni is saying this to debunk whatever Bobi Wine said, but this should backfire. Because this is like rappers said their bullets already got names and know who their next victim will be. The President is indirectly saying he is prepared and has the resources to kill protesters. That might be true, but is that something you would say so openly and with such arrogance?

The President is just showing how he values life and what his willing to do. He doesn’t mind using live bullets and lethal means against the ones who demonstrates or goes to the streets to protest. That’s the message and everyone should recognize this. As that is the result of doing it and he won’t care about the loss of life. That is just another number on the board and a price of his Presidency for Life.

This man won’t shield people or defend them, but he will be carrying guns to stay in office. The destabilization is about weakening his power and his office. Everything is built to keep him in office and be the Head of State. That’s all that matters to him and whoever that pays the price for targeting that is just another unnamed casualty. Seriously, he doesn’t mind a little bloodshed or possible extra judicial killings to let him stay in office. That’s all he needs and this is why the police officers and soldiers are ready with loads of ammunition.

A man that speaks like this and governs like this is dangerous. He thinks it’s righteous to kill for his cause and whatever he deems fit. That’s the words of a warlord and not a statesman. Peace.

Kachumbala County: Patrick Opolot Isiagi “wins” as unopposed!

“EC NULLIFIES NUP’s ONGELECH CHARLES NOMINATION, DECLARES ISIAGI PATRICK OPOLOT UNOPPOSED FOR KACHUMBALA COUNTY MP SEAT. The decision, communicated in a formal letter dated 10th November 2025 and signed by EC Chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama, followed a petition filed by Atum George William, through M/s E. Wamimbi Advocates & Solicitors, challenging the authenticity of the signatures Ongelech submitted during nomination. According to the petition, six out of ten required supporters—Atukei Anna Christine, Aolio Paul, Anyapa Robert, Asukan John Bosco, Malinga Brian, and Isimai Phillips—disowned the signatures attributed to them and swore affidavits affirming they had never supported or endorsed Ongelech’s candidature. Speaking to the press, Counsel Emmanuel Wamimbi, who represented the petitioner, said the ruling reinforces the importance of integrity in the electoral process” (Voice of Teso Radio, 26.11.2025).

Yet again, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the Electoral Commission ensure a “victory” before the polls in the General Election 2026. This is manufacturing the majority and using technicalities to dismiss and stop the opposition party from running candidates in the General Election. That’s what is going down, and we are seeing it become very prevalent.

This is yet another MP in the Bukedea district which is going unopposed. That’s after the Speaker Anita Among became the Woman MP without any hesitation or worry. It was done to ensure her “re-election” and just stream-roll her back to Parliament. Therefore, now one of her allies in the district is going there too.

It is just evident that the EC and the NRM will go after the signatures of the NUP candidates, buy them off and create reasons for them to drop their support a NUP flagbearer. That’s what we are seeing, and it is a systematic effort. We can all understand the game that is being played and what the outcome is. The NRM is getting an automatic MP by rigging this and stifling the options of the NUP MPs in these races. They don’t have the backing or the state apparatus, which the NRM candidate has. Therefore, this is a lose-lose case and done to secure the majority of the NRM in the 12th Parliament.

If you believe that this is a sincere and honest operation. Well, they are doing this with all the technicalities they can, but it is just done so they don’t have to listen to the people or their will for that matter.

If you wondered if the NRM believes in democracy or the will of the people. They don’t and they prefer it this way. Because they rather want pre-ticked ballots or stuffed ballot boxes than real people voting. This is the only way they can win without heart or a clean conscience. Peace.

Moses Birigwa: The Activist turned Secretary General

“I don’t feel betrayed by Bobi Wine, but rather betrayed by the leaders from the Busoga region. They have tried their best to make me look like a bad person to our president Bobi Wine. I am glad Bobi Wine knows me and he knows how I have been dedicated towards the struggle” – Moses Birigwa (12.12.2023).

“In 2023, I vowed never again to be led by civilians who lack the capacity to lead a revolution. I have served under many who failed to deliver. That’s why I’ve joined forces with Field Marshal Munyagwa, a true man of the people. I now commit to championing the issues of the common man, long ignored by both the government and the opposition” – Moses Birigwa (15.07.2025).

The former National Unity Platform (NUP) mobiliser for Eastern Uganda has now become the Secretary General of the Common Man’s Party (CMP). This is the party of a former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) MP Mubarak Munyagwa Sserunga who is the Presidential Candidate for the party. Moses Birigwa is entrusting his future in the hands of a former MP and new Opposition leader. A man who just recently said he left the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF). Therefore, they are both vibing for relevance and wanting their cut.

They are all eating of the same plate. Birigwa was the activist and mobiliser for NUP. In that role, he has been arrested and tortured. That’s been documented and proven. As a man of the struggle, he fought and got caught. As a NUP Mobiliser he paid a price and did his duties.

As any man can or want, he can leave a party and go to another one. We don’t know when he moved to the Common Man’s Party, but it can’t be to long ago. As the changes in the party and whatnot isn’t that long ago. He must have built trust and a genuine relationship with Munyagwa to do this. As he was working for the NUP and trying to build the party in Eastern Uganda.

Seriously, this man had a choice, and he has decided. It was all up to him, and he went with the CMP instead of the NUP. That was he wanted to do, and he did. Steadily at various of media appearances his speaking of the difference between CMP and NUP. His not attacking the NRM, but busy challenging his former party. That is an interesting move, and he should consider his stance.

Birigwa has a major role in the CMP, but the CMP is nowhere where the NUP is. That is well known, and everyone can see that on the campaign trail. The CMP won’t amass or make a ripple effect.

If Moses wanted to get out of the desert and get to the promised land. I can tell you that won’t happen with CMP. No, he walks in the desert for years to come and only Joshua will enter it. He should read that story and maybe reflect a bit. We don’t know what the other leaders in the NUP did in the Eastern region, but that could have been handled. Instead, he has now left and boosting his own ego.

His lucky to get the title of Secretary General of the CMP, but that won’t save him. He decided to do this, and he will walk in the sunshine without any end. It will be tiring… and exhausting. Peace.
