Rwanda: The MLR was just a smokescreen or a ghost…

On the 28th and 29th January the insurgency of the Mouvement de la Libération du Rwanda (MLR) or Rwanda Liberation Movement (RLM) supposedly happened in Rwanda. This was the newest rebellion from within. However, it has been crickets.

There been no movement or viable reports within the last 48 hours. The reports of the advances and taking over the airport of Gisenyi is hard to believe now. The Rwandan Defence Forces (RDF) haven’t released any information. Neither has there been any sort of reaction to make it believable.

It seems like it was a report made to humiliate the Rwandans, as the M23 was advancing and able to takeover Goma. The M23/AFC which is supported from Rwanda. Therefore, the supposed support of the FARDC was doing the same bidding with the MLR. Nevertheless, there been nothing.

That’s why this is a ghost and a make belief. There has been other militias who has come and conquered. The MLR thing seems like only a make a wish, as they wants this to happen, but they haven’t really appeared.

The disinformation was to hurt Rwanda, as they are viable with their proxy militia within the Democratic Republic of Congo. They are able to annex and takeover territories in the Kivu Provinces. That is hurting Kinshasa, as Kigali and Kampala are able to do this to them.

Now the people wanted to see Kigali hurting too. That is natural, because there been other militias and rebellions against President Paul Kagame. These have come and gone. They haven’t been able to take him down.  That being the RNC, FNL and MRCD. However, the MLR seems like a fever dream, but it is a nightmare.

I don’t see anything and don’t hear anything. It was a hot minute, but now it is a ghost. Therefore, the speculations and the possibilities of it existing are slimming down. The MLR is just “hot air” and a wish of a certain subsection of the internet. However, on the ground and in reality. There would be more information and more intel about it. Alas, there is none and that’s why I know it’s a ghost. Peace.

Rwanda: A new rebel militia advances within the Republic [as it takes over Gisenyi airport]

Today, the Mouvement de la Libération du Rwanda (MLR) or Rwanda Liberation Movement (RLM) have today surfaced and established itself within the Republic of Rwanda. This is continuation of other rebel outfits going against regime in Kigali.

The attacks are happening and weakening the logistical lines by attacking and taking over the Gisenyi airport. Possibly take over several other significant locations like Ruzizi, Nyamasheke, Karongi, Rutsiro, Ngororero, Nyabihu and Rubavu.

MLR is the next up after the Rwandan Defence Force (RDF) have been able to contain and stop the RNC, FNL or the MRCD. Now the MLR is appearing, and they have enough support to do this. That happens as the RDF is supporting the war-effort of M23/AFC within the Kivu provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Surely, this can be retaliation or been a group that has waited their turn.

The MLR/RLM isn’t the first or the last one who wanted to violently and use force to end the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RDF) and the reign of President Paul Kagame. There have been other entities who wanted to this and this is just a new one of that.

We don’t know how this one will play out or fizzle out quickly. We have seen how the RDF been able to contain and take control quickly. Nevertheless, it might be different when the RDF is constrained by the warfare in the Kivu Provinces. The issue of logistical support and training of M23/AFC proxy military within the DRC.

So, what will this do? Will it create a change and challenge the RDF in any regard. That is to early to call. It could be a spook and show Kigali that they aren’t the only ones who can have proxy wars across the borders. The DRC can also support and give logistical support to an outfit. Which would play the dirty tricks of Kigali within Rwanda. That must hurt the pride of Kagame. Regardless, Kagame is humiliated if this is home-grown or a proxy. They are able to takeover and weaken the integrity of the territories of the Republic of Rwanda.

We can just wonder how far the MLR/RLM can take it. Today its hard to know as it is all new and fresh. What we know is that we have seen these sorts of things happening before and they have died down quickly. If it is different this time. That we will only know after a little time or if it is just a little flair. However, this is a challenge and is a shot at the throne.

Kagame isn’t without enemies or without people wanting his demise. That is something he has created after being in total control over all these years. Peace
