Zimbabwe: The Crocodile needs two more additional years [with the Vision 2030]

“The organs, the provinces and the party membership are quite happy with His Excellency’s stewardship of the party and membership” (…) “Their dictum is: ‘If it ain’t broke, why try to fix it?’ The delegates have expressly and vehemently resolved to continue with His Excellency till 2030. They have drowned out other noises of unbridled, undeserving and self-centred ambition” – Zanu PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa (10.10.2025).

“ZANU PF Director of Information and Publicity, Cde Farai Marapira, emphasized that ahead of the Party’s 22nd National People’s Conference, Resolution Number 1, calling for His Excellency President Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa to extend his term until 2030, is an official Party position. He expressed confidence that the resolution will be implemented, highlighting that the President is a listening leader who has affirmed that the voice of the people is the voice of God” (ZANU-PF, 12.10.2025).

There are apparently a lack of able and eligible men or women in Harare or the whole 2^nd Republic of Zimbabwe. That only His Excellency Emmerson D. Mnangagwa can lead the nation and be the Head of State. This is the same fault line as the ZANU-PF was pushing Mugabe until his last breath. At one point of time, the party spoke of him ensuring the party at the pearly gates. Therefore, the nation has been here before.

The 2030 is just prolonging the agony. The pain of the state and just ensuring the longevity of Mnangagwa. This is just keeping the status quo and not unleashing anything else. They are just buying time for the Crocodile and letting his people scheme for another way to keep him in office. Because they know it isn’t righteous to give him another term now. That’s why they are pushing for additional years for him.

Mnangagwa is just the head and the one they are pushing. Nevertheless, this is the elite and the ones in the inner circle continuing their power grab. They aren’t willing to let anyone else takeover or become the head of state. These people need more years and reasons to stay in office. That’s why they want to extend his reign. These people are worried that others will strike with vengeance or with fierce force, because that’s what Mnangagwa and others has done against their dissidents. Therefore, they need legitimacy and needs more time to rule supreme.

This here is just trying to justify the rulers to rule indefinitely. It isn’t about the betterment of the Republic or service delivery. No, this is for the state continue with the status quo and they are having their say. They want Mnangagwa in office, because they want to eat and their meal-ticket.

These people know they cannot justify another election with Mnangagwa on the ballot and the 2030 is just moving the goalpost. They will just find all sorts of arguments and reasons to keep him in office. That’s what they are doing and what they are willing to do. When they are doing this in the middle of term. This is their focus… and shows what they want to do.

Mnangagwa isn’t a hero, and neither is the ZANU-PF. They are just doing to Mnangagwa what the party did to Mugabe. This is the same script, but another head. They are just using the state machinery and making narratives to unleash his reign until the end of times. That’s what they want, and this is how they acting.

ZANU-PF will now die on the hill of Mnangagwa, just like it was willing to die on the same hill for Mugabe. Just look back in time and you will see the similarities. The Lacoste hasn’t learned their lessons and will lose public confidence, sooner or later. Peace.
