The state goes rouge against the NUP in Iganga today

Fellow citizens, I am very sad to announce that after a very successful rally in Iganga, the police and military attacked us yet again, in order to disperse our supporters who were leaving the rally back home. Like they have done elsewhere, these criminals fired live bullets at peaceful people and in the process killed at least one comrade and injured several others. So far we have confirmed the murder in cold blood of Meshach Okello who was shot through the head. (We’re told that the police smuggled two other bodies from from the scene after shooting them, which information we’re still trying to verify)! The other comrades who were severely injured and are fighting for their lives in hospital include Nuwamanya Samuel 24 (aged 24), Naminya Banuli (aged 44), Faima Namusobya (aged 24). Museveni and his criminal regime must be held accountable for all these crimes against humanity!” – Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine (28.11.2025).

This is how we ended our rally in Iganga today—full of hope, full of unstoppable energy. But the regime’s trigger-hungry military chose bloodshed over democracy, attacking and killing unarmed civilians whose only “crime” was waving at their beloved leader. Tell me—why organise an election when you already know you are weak, terrified, and incapable of handling the people’s voice? Why pretend to govern when your only language is violence? Why massacre Ugandans for daring to dream of freedom? This brutality only exposes the cowardice of a dying dictatorship. And if a regime fears a simple wave from its citizens, then its end is not just near—its end is inevitable” (Sir Dan Magic, 28.11.2025).

Today we have to mourn civilians who took part in a political gathering. Today we have to worried that others are possibly losing their lives. One life is already taken and several more unverified. There is more people hurt and we don’t know if it was fatally so.

It is just a sad day. Today is just a tragic day. One family has lost their loved one. Other families are facing the same tribulation and others are possibly hurt for life. Just because they showed up and partake in campaign rally for the National Unity Platform (NUP) and their presidential candidate Bobi Wine. That shouldn’t be the case and there is no reason for it to has this outcome.

This is state sponsored extra judicial-killing and it’s done deliberately. They used live-bullet against unarmed civilians. That’s what the state did and it’s the monopoly of violence that ends in death. The death of innocent and the death of bystanders or participants of a political gathering. It just shows what sort of levels of impunity the state is offering and what they willing to do serve one man. This is just sinister and tragic. It is evil and there is no justification that make this righteous. Unless, your a blood-thirsty tyrant who doesn’t value life or other people’s lives. This is fellow civilians and citizens who should be shielded and be safeguarded, but instead they are caught in the gunfire.

What needs do the military and the police force need to carry AK-47s to disperse and attack unarmed civilians? What sort of reasoning does they have to use these sorts of weapons against fellow citizens of the Republic?

I don’t know, but the state and the government lacks heart. There is no heart or conscience left. Only more blood and suffering, so one man can rule supreme and everyone else supposed to bow down to him on the throne.

Iganga should ring the alarm. Someone died by association and for participating in a campaign rally. That should never happen, but it shows what the state is willing to do. This is who they are and how they value fellow citizens. If you get the gist, this state and law enforcement/army doesn’t value fellow human beings. They can so easily pull the trigger and end someone’s life. These people don’t mind and doesn’t even blink. That’s who they are and people should recognize that. Peace.
