This time, all FDC candidates were supposed to receive nomination fees, posters, facilitation, upkeep, and funds to cater for agents’ meals throughout the process. However, not a single penny was given to the agents. We have seen three parties emerge out of the FDC, and all of them have collapsed” – Yusuf Nsibambi (18.02.2026).
“Mawokota South MP Yusuf Nsibambi has officially joined the National Resistance Movement (NRM). Nsibambi, a veteran law don and former member of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), lost the Mawokota South parliamentary seat to NRM’s Suzan Nakawuki in the recently concluded general election” (91.2 Crooze FM, 18.02.2026).
We knew something was on the horizon when he openly and proudly screamed out of joy on National TV that he had held a meeting with President Museveni at the Entebbe State House. That was just mere two weeks ago.
When some of us says that the meetings with Museveni is for him to feel you out and find your weaknesses. It is because these sorts of things happens. That the President and his people are on the alert and trying to find ways to compromise you. This is why his giddy to take in the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Chief Whip of the 11th Parliament. Yes, his outgoing, but his been a leader within the opposition party and been serving it for decades. At one point of time he was the lawyer who defended Besigye’s court cases. So, we know he has done this in past.
Now he is dining with the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and that’s after a deal has been made. They have promised him something and his a token soldier for them now. Just like Beti Kamya or Mama Mabira. Another one who has followed this path. His useful at first, but will be trashed the moment he has no value. That time is coming, but he won’t be prepared for it.
He went to the State House, now signed of to the NRM and leaving the FDC. A FDC that is already weak and lacking finesse. This party is really being distorted and destroyed in real time. That’s what the President wants and he has grudges against it. They were taunting him for years and was on the barricades against him.
Now he got another brother from the FDC. That’s because Museven can and he can offer a few coins. He has the leverage and he can corrupt people. Nsibambi is willing and is vindictive too. That’s why his taking away electricity from his constituency and also taking away scholarships too. He just shows his spite and this energy is what brings joy to the President. As vindictive as Museveni is, this man resembles that and he would acknowledge that.
“When we were in FDC, we thought we could deliver on the side of defiance, but it was all in vain. Our numbers keep falling, and the leadership is not straight, so I have decided to join NRM for more service delivery” – Yusuf Nsibambi (18.02.2026).
The dirty deal destroyed the FDC and Nsibambi was rising in the ranks in this period. He served with Amuriat and Mafabi. They have worked and coordinated together. This man knew and could read the signs. His mocking PFF and ANT, but these parties aren’t in the same rank as the FDC ever was. Neither had a momentum or had such a popularity. The NUP has taken the place of the old FDC. That got to be acknowledged right now.
Nsibambi is just following Mama Mabira and Beti Kamya. He will be in a great space for a minute, but later be dropped like nothing. That’s what is coming his way. The old man isn’t playing and we should recognize that. He went for a meeting and sold his soul after. Peace.
