Opinion: The fallen maverick called George Santos

It wasn’t long that George Santos got to represent the 3rd District of New York as a Representative in the House in Congress. Certainly he wasn’t there long enough to do anything substantial or critical for his constituents. We can now wonder, if that would really matter to him?

Well, Santos was a character and a fraud. An epic sort of fraudster that has lied about everything. His work and corporate experience, philanthropy, foundation, land-lord, musical-producer and Jewish heritage just to mention a few. This man has been willing to lie about it all.

Pinocchio isn’t even in the same league as the former congressman. No, Santos is so unique and has such a vast portfolio of deception. You can wonder if it triggers something in him and gives him the vibes. Like the lies are a way of making his legacy and life more interesting. While the grim reality of a former drag-queen and partaking in Ponzi-schemes wasn’t a good selling point to conservative voters in New York, I suppose.

Santos had a story to sell. That he saved cats, dogs and whatnot. He had a foundation and did good things. Alas, that wasn’t true either and it’s even reported that he stole puppies or dogs from one owner. Just so he could use them for his non-profit organization. There is just endless variety of shambolic behaviour. However, the Republican Party and the ones doing credible research before running him didn’t do their job. Maybe he was so convincing that they believed his word.

We surely know that his not as educated as he claimed. Neither was he as athletic as he also have said to the press. This man lied about everything. A man who couldn’t stop himself and used horrific events to get political capital. Using the 9/11 as a smokescreen to say his mother died in the terror attack. However, that wasn’t true.

Neither was it true that he had employees killed in a lone-wolf shooting of a gay-bar in Florida. Nevertheless, he claimed so. Just like said he was a landlord and produced a Spider-man musical. Therefore, nothing is out of the ordinary. Just ordinary big-man talk and he certainly captured the big fish.

In addition to all of that, he misused campaign funds on personal purchases. This was paying for a trip to Atlantic City. Him paying subscriptions on OnlyFans and getting Botox. He is also been found siphoning funds from donors and such. So, the long line of questionable behaviour isn’t stopping.

George Santos is expelled from Congress today. It took to long time and we know the GOP only did so because the donors and the rich benefactors told them time was up. They needed to get rid of him, if not they could possibly be hurting in other races in New York and loose the House. That’s what matters here. For the Republican party of today… the crimes, the fraud and the lies doesn’t really matter. It is the interests of having power and influence that matters the most to them. This is why it took over a year and still they needed Democratic Representatives to get enough votes to pull it off.

Santos is a weird man. A man of many seasons. A person who had himself into a laughingstock and lose all credibility. He practically lived on lives and hoped no one would catch on. That his actions and behaviour wouldn’t have consequences. However, it did and now we are here.

There will be by-election in the 3rd District of New York. Alas, Santos is now history. We can wonder what the true story of this man really is. Whatever it is… it will never be as colourful as his lies. Peace.
