Zimbabwe: Citizens’ Manifesto – Communique from Citizens Consultative Forum Held on 27 August 2020 (02.09.2020)

“I would say that the so-called international community has been interfering in Zimbabwe’s judicial system and in the Hopewell case, in particular, they are interfering. The Zimbabwean government is enforcing its laws; it is governing and they are interfering” – Government Spokesperson Nick Mangwana
The continued and prolonged detention, arrest and charges on investigatory journalist Hopewell Chin’ono are hitting the state hard. The scrutiny and the questions to why? Is clearly to much to handle for the Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) who is making true journalism a crime. This is why Chin’ono is behind bars together with other political prisoners for daring to do civil disobedience or even attempt to do so…
That is why the government spokesperson has to bring back the vibes of Mugabe era. Where the White Man was the devil. Where the Western world and its hemisphere was bringing all the ills to the Republic. Now, they are harming the judicial system and court cases. They are hampering with the enforcement of law.
What is really rich about this? Well, if the interference was that overbearing and controlling. Why isn’t he released then? Why isn’t there proof of tampering wit the courts and the bail-hearings? Alas, there is none.
The damage which are being done with this sort of affair is all a self-service. This is damaging own calm on own merit. The state is hurting itself and got stay responsible. They are the ones issuing these orders and the ones enforcing it. It is not foreigners who are adding burdens on it.
It is the ZANU-PF and the whole state apparatus. They are doing it. Mnagwana knows this, but easier to blame a invisible entity, than actual culprits. Especially, when those culprits are buddies and cadres of the same party.
The hurt, the pain and suffering of Chin’ono is clearly not important. That his sick and not well. Doesn’t seem to be a concern. His just a citizen who deserves to be punished for undermining the rulers and their comrades. That is why he deserves this punishment, even if there are no law he has broken or committed any crimes. They just need to give him pain and hope he doesn’t dare to reveal the truth again.
Mnagwana should know better, but clearly he doesn’t. If not his blind by default and corrupted by power. The man has lost his moral compass and empathy. That is clearly binned and forgotten about.
Because, if he had a heart and had courage, he would at least acknowledge the worry and concern for the health on the inmate, the prisoner of the state. Alas, it is more important to create enemies and be a useful pawn. Than, to be an actually human being who are concerned with the fate of others. Especially, when your a government officially, who is supposed to serve the individual who are lingering in jail on undetermined time. Peace.

The Movement for Democratic Change – Tsvangirai (MDC-T) are now officially purging Members of Parliament from the Movement for Democratic Change – Alliance (MDC-Alliance). The leader of MDC-T Thokozani Khupe is enjoying the perks and the spoils the state gives her. Also, demean and mock the real opposition in the MDC-Alliance.
Because, now the nomination of the recalled MDC-Alliance MPs are official and the MDC-T members are taking their places. The gazetted MPs are in and the truth is revealed. The state has only love for Khupe and MDC-T. As they are loyal servants of the cause and could be a branch of the Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF).
Khupe must be giddy. She must be ecstatic to have new comrades in Parliament. All in support of the President and his rigid state. Khupe has no trouble sucking up and obeying the crocodile. Mnangagwa have gotten a token friend who follow up and make a farce of the opposition.
If the MDC-T think they are playing this out wisely. They are not. Instead of seeing the pleas, the pain and the suffering of the state. They are instead using the situation to secure meal-tickets, funding and positioning themselves. This is petty politics in the midst of a brutal police state.
Khupe knows what is happening to critics, opposition leaders and activists, she knows what is going on towards the ones who dares to challenge ZANU-PF these days. Still, she is singing along and making show-tunes. Instead, of being a proper opposition. She is only that in name, but could be another stooge. Who is using her platform to undermine Nelson Chamisa and the whole MDC-Alliance.
That is who she are and she lives fine in it. The wealth she inherits, the gold and the silver she earns in this period is tainted. She is accepting the blood-money and the suffering of others. While living like a queen and on the pedestal of the ruling regime.
She could have been a vocal critic, been a daring individual, who had spoken against oppression, dictatorship and the police state. Alas, she is instead, cheering and dancing on the skeletons, the arrested and the ones who is forced to loose their livelihoods.
Khupe is just another lackey. There are no principals she beholds too. Unless, this is making her bank-account pregnant. Then she is going just fine and the pregnancy is soon happening. The due date is near. She will soon have more babies. We can just await another step to tarnish, destroy and humiliate Chamisa.
Because, that is her life now. That is all that she is. Its tragic, a tragedy, but a chosen one. She decided that this was it. Now she has to live with it. This is her legacy. Peace.

Douglas Mwonzora have recalled 6 MDC-Alliance MPs from Parliament directly overturning six elections. This is the combined efforts with Thokozani Khupe of the Movement for Democratic Change – Tsvangirai (MDC-T) use of the Courts to invalidate the MDC-Alliance.
These two are now using all their force to undermine and takeaway the little manpower MDC-Alliance has in Parliament. They are working on behalf of ZANU-PF to disperse and silence MDC-Alliance. It is so obvious.
The 6 MPs in questions aren’t important per say, but they are victims of a vindictive and destructive measure. Done only to solidify and contribute to the limited space of real opposition in the Republic. As ZANU-PF have the MDC-T as mercenaries, whose only job is to manhunt and use their platform to go against MDC-Alliance.
The MDC-T doesn’t have a policy, a manifesto or works to betterment of the Republic. No, they are just meal-ticket politicians who works for the ideals and goals of ZANU-PF. They could be members of the ruling regime. Because, all the works is only to stifle the efforts and stop a organization from properly being working.
Khupe and Mwonzora must be so proud of themselves and their activities, as the moles and cadres of ZANU-PF. These are only “opposition” in name, but in action they could just be another swindling corrupt PFee. There is no difference between them and the ZANU-PF anymore.
That they are now doing this. Recalling 6 MPs who is not on their ticket. They are indirectly claiming power to do what they feel with MDC-Alliance. Shows how far the state has taken powers to undermine the opposition. They are indirectly running the opposition and themselves. Done so by partisan courts to use Khupe and Mwonzora as their pawns.
Douglas and Thokozani must be so proud, as they can walk to Mnangagwa and say “jobs done”. “Where is our envelope, my lord?” and “when is the check coming our way?”. “We did like we promised and have done what we could to cause chaos within the parties”.
These people are willing to do so for a short term gain. These silver coins will not last forever. However, their reputation and their standing is shattered. People cannot trust them. Khupe and Mwonzora will struggle when the days of this administration has ended. They know they traded away their office and future for some mediocre cash advances. However, these will not fill their stomachs for long.
Sooner or later, the ZANU-PF see less value, as their mission of destruction has paid off. Then, they will let them rot. Because, why use someone who has already achieved what they were aiming for? That is redundant.
Khupe and Mwonzora, your are winning right now, but that will not last forever. At one point you will be done. Then you have soiled your name and there is no return from that. Peace.

“Going forward, we remain committed to working well with the church to advance the national development agenda, as a united people. However it is most unfortunate when men of the cloth begin to use the pulpit to advance a nefarious agenda for detractors of our country. Those who want to enter the political realm are welcome to do so. They must come out and form political parties” – President Emmerson Mnangagwa to Politburo (19.08.2020).
On the 14th August 2020, the Catholic Bishops Conference wrote a Pastoral Letter called ‘The March Not Ended’. The ruling regime have gone hostile to the message in it and the intention of the clergy doing so. They are offended, that the leadership of the Catholic church in the Republic would write such a letter.
However, even as the ZANU-PF have attacked the writings and called it even “genocidal”. The other churches, lawyers and CSOs have come in the defence of the letter. As a sign of solidarity as the Catholic Bishops are singled out for their outcry.
We are seeing that the President is relentless, unforgiving and not willing to listen to pleas from the Men of God. The President doesn’t want to see their perspective or understanding, as these men and their grievances are real. They are living in it day-to-day and are seeing what is happening to their parishioners.
This message from the President is condescending too. The voices of the clergy, the bishops only matter if they joins a party. Is he kidding me? The voice of the army was fine and dandy, as long as it brought you back from temporary exile?
If politics and the state matters for everyone. Everyone should be allowed to discuss and call out their grievances. That should be simple, even for the blurred mind of the President. He only wants the voices that is in favour of his game-plan and his reign. Not the ones of dissent. That is obvious too. That is why the abductions, arrests and court challenges to everyone daring to offend the don aka His Excellency.
The bishops dared to speak out. Now they are told to join a party. That is insane, they just want the best for their members and their believers. They want the best society for the ones of faith. That is not bananas, but a basic. The regime should want this too, but they rather go into the trenches and shoot. Than actually understand why ‘The March Not Ended’.
Because, if the President and his allies had understood or grasped the deep depression of the pastoral letter. They had maybe addressed it differently, however, these folks doesn’t care. As long as they have the authority and rules supreme.
Mnangagwa will not go for a confession soon, neither would he repent either. However, it would be refreshing if he used his two ears and listen for ones. If he did listen to someone for once. He might understand the pain and suffering his putting people through. Alas, he wants to live lavish, while the public suffers. That is his game and plays it like a professional. Peace.
