Opinion: Odrek and Muhoozi the Monarchy tickets of the future

This is no shocker, but there are clearly people eyeing the throne within the inner-circle of the Museveni family planning ahead. There been already shown proof of the steady promotions and the rise of power for the young man Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerubaga that is now the Commander of Land Forces within the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF).

Project Muhoozi” have been in the public eye since the state went after the Daily Monitor and the Red Pepper back-in-the-day. When these publications was revealing and leaking the letters of Gen. David Sejusa. Therefore, he warned about this strategy. Now, there is plenty of influencers and people who are paid to boost the ego of Muhoozi.

Not that Muhoozi needs his ego really boosted. Just that he needs the public to think he has credentials and believes of skills to govern. The only reason he has a rank and a office. Is that he is the official son of the President. There is no other further proof of his abilities or stature, nevertheless they will sell his every move like it was made out of gold.

Now, there is a new man in town and this is Odrek Rwabwogo who happens to be the son-in-law of the President. He is connected not by blood, but by marriage. This is why his in the picture in the first place. Not that he has any unique features or has shown character to the public. No, he believes he should get ahead and be a contender by his marriage. That is how futile things are.

Both Odrek and Muhoozi is only where they are by family ties. They are not there because of who they are or what they can do. These men haven’t excelled or proven themselves. This has all been given to them and we shouldn’t be shocked.

For a man who never seems to retire. He should be aware that his son and his in-law is planning succession. They are preparing for his fall or for his end. These two are awaiting his demise and that he stops breathing. So, that they can be viable and eligible. Because, at this point of time. Museveni deems nobody fit and no one can succeed him. That’s why anyone with real ambition within his party has gotten their wings clipped off and stopped flying high. Unless, they have accepted their fate and gotten an appointed office.

Therefore, Odrek and Muhoozi is playing for the long haul. However, to expect the general public a continuation of the current rule is ghastly. That the public want more “Musevenism” and “No Change” seems like a faint dream. It is more of a nightmare and not a reality. It is a reason why the 2016 and 2021 elections have been held in the manner of which they were held. Not like Museveni is a favourable candidate or President anymore.

It is striking that they are both doing this. While others are combatting courts and the army to get there. They are only allowed, because its within the family. However, they think the general public is stupid. If they think they are viable or even a real deal. Because, everyone know why they are at the top and why they have a known name. It not because they have a personality or swagger. No, they are empty vessels running on no steam. Peace.

A look into Museveni’s Statement “On the Military Coups that recently taken place in some African Countries”

On the 5th September 2021 there was a coup d’etat in Guinea. Since then Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni have condemn it. What is striking is that the Ugandan Head of State has interfered and been part of several of coup d’etat’s over the years. It is not like Museveni have gone without using arms or using military force to get his will.

That’s why today’s release of a text written on the 15th September 2021 is striking. He defends his own action while condemning others. Like always he tries to be a history teacher… but it’s not saving him. It only shows how he tries to clean his own hands. While finding ways to attack and go after the ones who does coup d’etat’s. That really weird when you know his own history and how took power.

First piece:

Were we wrong to take up arms against Idi Amin? Not at all. This is because Idi Amin and his fellow golpists in Africa, were almost all of them agents of anti-African interests. We were calling them reactionaries and puppets of foreign interests. Who were they? They were the following: Mobutu Sese Seko Kuku Ngbendu Wa Za Banga, Eyadema of Togo, Afrifa of Ghana, Bokassa of Central Africa Republic, Habyarimana of Rwanda, etc etc” (Museveni, 15.09.2021).

What Museveni is doing here is saying that some are righteous, but others are not. He claims that he was right and did it for the right reasons. It is also ironic, because three of the ones mentioned he participated in. Museveni was part of brining Idi Amin, Mobutu and Habyarimana. Amin he was part of a coalition and made him a minister in the council after this. The two others he had already had his coup d’etat in 1986 and went into the countries in Great Lakes Region. Museveni used force, trained and supported coup d’etat in Rwanda and Democratic Republic Congo (DRC). In the DRC he did it twice and not only with Mobutu. That’s why it’s funny that he calls these reactionaries of foreign interests. When the reign of Museveni have gotten the same support, military training and aligned itself with the same powers that kept Mobutu in office. So, his not the right mind to talk about that either.

Second piece:

When summoning former Government Ministers etc, one of them said that if anybody summoned does not come, he/she will be regarded as having declared rebellion!! Really!!

Especially for the politicians, they have a right and even an obligation to say: “No”, to whatever they don’t agree with. Saying “No”, includes not attending meetings called. It is a peaceful way of showing one’s unhappiness” (Museveni, 15.09.2021).

This is also very ironic coming from Museveni. A man who has always sanctioned and targeted the ones who defies his reign. The man who has made life “hell” and hectic for anyone who opposes him. Heck, the man has even targeted the ones that crosses him too. Museveni has gone after all rebels and stifled the ones who doesn’t follow him. That’s why it’s dangerous to be a Movement Rebel and these have paid a price over the years. So, His Excellency isn’t the one to talk about this subject. He is again throwing stones in a glass house…

Third piece:

Finally: “Do the coup-makers have a right to interfere with our destiny?” The answer is a categorical “no”; it is good that the African Union accepted the minimum position of outlawing these coups. The freedom fighters, who themselves have not harmonized well among themselves, but must reject flunkeyism, should have no problem with leaders that do not share their views provided they are elected. Elections means one person, one vote, by secret ballot, at regular intervals. This is the minimum they all have set and it is a good one. If people who do not share our views win the elections, provided they do not engage in extra–judicial killings, we should accept their leadership and struggle against their wrong positions peacefully. The position of one person, one vote, by secret ballot, at regular intervals, is a good minimum position because it addresses the substance of democracy, which means the continuous and perpetual supremacy of the sovereignty of the people. Nobody has a right to interfere with this” (Museveni, 15.09.2021).

Museveni is really himself here. Twisting his tongue, but also justifying himself here. It is really unique that someone who has the knowledge, know-how and expertise in doing coup d’etat’s. As President and rebel Museveni has excelled through these means. Not like he didn’t build a career on the same objective and use of force. Museveni would never have one an election without tampering, rigging and using the authorities against his enemies. That’s why his really not the man to say these things.

Yes, in principle the ideas of democracy and regular elections is true. However, when in concern to Museveni they are just a ploy to legitimacy for his own reign. Therefore, it isn’t really an insight or justified. The man has also over the years used kidnappings, torture, political prisoners and extra judicial-killings. So, it is not like his innocent and a proper statesman of sorts. No, that is only in his deluded ego.

For a man of his stature and with his CV. This text is an utter disgrace. It is like we are not supposed to know what sort of man he is and what he did. He wants to look like a freedom fighter and a liberator. However, he uses the means, which he calls wrong in this here text. That’s why his really an ambivalent leader. Who in theory writes what is right, but in action does the opposite. Because that benefits his own, which is himself and his cronies. That’s why he fears a coup d’etat against himself. Peace.

Opinion: Oulanyah should address his master

There were accusations of repressive police action against these people who are calling for violence. The people who call for these have taken it publicly not privately in the media and in the newspapers. Nobody is talking about them. It is possible for us to weigh the whole picture and say anybody who calls for violence must be reprimanded?” – Speaker Jacob Oulanyah

The 11th Parliament Speaker Oulanyah lashed out at the European Union (EU) delegation at a meeting recently. The speaker must take the EU for fools and the whole Republic as well. The monopoly of violence is controlled by the state. The state has the security agencies, the army and the police force at it’s beacon.

It was the state that ordered the soldiers on the streets. Oulanyah knows this and he can blame the opposition. Like he does here and think the unarmed civilians are calling for “violence”. That is neither here nor there. In the matter of this republic, the one man who calls and address things with vengeance are the President.

President Museveni speaks ill and viciously about destroying his opponents. The President isn’t a man of peace, but another war-lord. The EU should know this and if they don’t… they should research about his history and CV. Museveni and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) lives on intimidation, fear and using the arms against dissidents. That’s why they have to vilify them and make them evil. Even when it’s the state that is abducting, arresting, torturing and extra judicial-killing them. Still, the EU should believe that this isn’t the whole picture.

In the last two elections it has been enough to be either associated with the “Defiance” or be for the “We are Removing a Dictator”. If you participated, was active or a member of either campaigns… you would be met with force or possibly loose everything. The authorities will go after you and everyone in your near proximity if they have too. That’s why Oulanyah must think the world is stupid at this point.

The state has used ungazetted safe-houses,Nalufenya and SIU Kireka to mention a few over the years to oppress the opposition. These locations and institutions would exist, if the state didn’t value them. Neither would it be to build anotehr maximum prison to ensure more people can be detained. As Luzira wasn’t big enough. That’s why the authorities are made to silence critics and they do it with huge enforcement.

The speaker can claim the others speaks of violence, but it’s not proven. When the main objective of the previous big opposition leaders has been a “peaceful transition” from the current one. That is not a violent revolution or anarchy. No, they are seeking peace and the aftermath of the ones in-charge now.

It is like Oulanyah and the Movement is so busy scheming. That they cannot hold their ducks in a row. They know these sorts of stories is not true. The EU should just read upon and seek guidance elsewhere. Because, this is just false. Violence just appear when the government entities are involved or ambushing opposition gatherings/meetings and such. It is not like it happens on it’s own. That violence are ordered from the high above and the ones in command. Not some random stranger or citizens from the ghetto. No, this is the Movement and all of the gentlemen in power.

Oulanyah is a loyal soldier for the cause and for His Excellency (H.E.). That why he speaks like this, but doesn’t make it true. It only shows that he serves a purpose and his a useful tool for his majesty. Peace.

Opinion: Mzee when is your birthday?

Yesterday, the authorities, the handlers and all the “Yes-Men” was celebrating President Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni. However, the 15th September birthdate is a new creation. Not long ago the same man was celebrated on the 15th August. The President has also registered different birth years as well, this being 1944 and 1946. Therefore, he is surely toying around with this.

That’s why it’s hard to celebrate his birthday. He deleted all evidence early in his reign and has since then created his own narrative. The stories of his parents and their existence is all on his memory. Also on the stories and old articles. The origin is also changing just like he has a new name to every single election. So in 2026 expect him to have a new name and for a new reason.

What is clear that the President has done this all deliberately. That’s why I have written about this before, because the documentation on the wedding certificate from 1973 has other dates than on the birth certificate to Muhoozi Kainerubaga from 1974. This is alone putting everything into question and that the man cannot keep his ducks in a row. When he did in this 1970s… what is he able to do when he is in power?

That you can think for yourself. He has been in power since 1986 and has several of times changed things. That’s why he even needed an second edition of “Sowing the Mustard Seed” to revise the stories of the past. This is the sort of man he is and this is why it’s a manufactured date.

We can even look further back and early 2010s on social media. Public accounts and some radio stations was even joking that he was born in 1924 and was already 90 years old in 2012. That says it all really. His age, birthday and everything is natural to question.

Museveni have made this possible and he knows why he did this. He has deleted his past and recreated his own legend. That makes him more puff and glory, because his not proud of his origin. Neither, does he want the truth out. That is why he has manufactured it and it’s dumb.

That’s why it isn’t natural to celebrate his birthday. It is just a hand-picked day and a fixed story, which is based on a lie. This is not the fact or the reality. We cannot know and he has made this happen.

The President was born one day and should have a birthday. Every single person has a DOB. What we do know is that it’s politics and importance when and when. That’s because it is about legality or ability to stand as a candidate. This is why he has to alter this … and change it to make sense. However, at some point the truth will come out and the records from the past will resurface. Unless, he burned them all and destroyed it, as it was reported by others that he did early years of his reign. Peace.

Pastor “Mama” Janet Returns: The Honourable Minister is asking for too much…

Therefore, if you would have a little faith in your government and trust that it cares about your well-being, you would know that Government has not left schools closed to punish you, but rather, to protect you from harm” (Janet Museveni – ‘Reopening of Education Institutions’ 13.09.2021).

The First Lady, Pastorpreneur and Minister of Sports and Education, Janet Museveni really shows her lack of skill and understanding of her role. Not like that is new… because she is the royal highness and the first lady. If she wasn’t any of the above… Janet wouldn’t have been considered or even appointed in the first place.

However, here we are and she continues. This time it’s a less of holy text. Neither is it anything profound or a stark message. The writing isn’t inspiring or hopeful. That’s why we should trust her government. A government who uses drones, captives political prisoners and easily sends the army against it’s dissidents. Still, you are supposed to believe that this government would protect you and not harm you. Well, that is easy to say when your in the inner-circle… and not living in the real world. Where the state can send the authorities and kidnap you just for your association with dissidents. That’s enough of probable cause and the state is allowed to charge them without any questions asked.

So, it is really insulting writing what she wrote in that one passage. However, her lack of tact and understanding is also in another passage of her. Where she is boldly saying: “Sometimes, I see the very rude insinuations you send to me in our dialogue, like, “just open schools” etc. Well, when you put a lot of thinking in this puzzle, if it is even a puzzle at all, you can see that opening schools is the easiest thing to do. After all, that is what many of you seem to really want and I can also understand your thinking. So, why then have we kept schools closed?” (Janet Museveni – ‘Reopening of Education Institutions’ 13.09.2021).

It is not rude to want the schools and educational insinuations open. That is a sincere wish, as the years of COVID-19 is fallout time and also lost learning period for massive amount of students. While the state haven’t solved or found proper solutions to home-schooling or educational curriculum to spread to the masses in new ways. Yes, the President has promised village tv’s and radios, but they haven’t been procured and neither delivered. Secondly, the teachers and lectures haven’t been helped or had any sort government programme to save the lost year.

However, she is still the preacher and had to say stuff like this: We are confident that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who is our God will bless the education sector in this unprecedented season” (Janet Museveni – ‘Reopening of Education Institutions’ 13.09.2021).

She is the Minister of Sports and Education. Janet is in-charge and has the responsibility. It is healthy to have faith in higher powers and believe in spiritual beings. However, if we believe those things and still have a sound mind. We know that God has given us a brain and intelligence to serve and also follow the mandates of our roles in society. Therefore, Janet should make sure the people succeed and not just spread hope.

Janet has the ability and the power to get the funding, the equipment and the additional training the teachers might need at any given time. She can order and secure this for everyone involved. That is, if she cares or have the manpower around her. However, she is just saying “put it all to God” and “have faith in the government”.

That is not how things works. The state should deliver and God can intervene, but he has given us wisdom for a reason. So, the honourable minister should do us a service and actually use any, if she possess it. Because, it is about time to stop preaching and actually work. Even the scripture says your faith is dead, if you have no action. Therefore, for someone quoting God on the regular. She better get to work and open them schools. It doesn’t matter if she finds it insulting or not. That’s her job and she’s mandated to do so. Peace.

The inevitable fallout: The tale of distrust and dishonesty [a broken bromance between Kagame and Museveni]

The ones who has followed the politics of the Great Lakes Region and East African Community knows that these Heads of States has butt heads. This being Rwandan President Paul Kagame and Ugandan President Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni. They have bought fought together, battled enemies, settled scores and in the end turned into enemies.

What is striking is that they both needed each other. Kagame was useful for the National Resistance Army and early years of the National Resistance Movement (NRM). Before he went into a second war and became the President in Rwanda. Museveni needed the services of Kagame and they trusted each other. It served a purpose for Kampala and the new leadership there.

When Kagame took power with the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) things changed a bit, but they we’re still close. These Heads of State could even connive and conduct new military enterprise into another country. Just to topple the second head of state. They went into Zaire and they together brought down two President’s. Was main architects of two huge wars in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Where they both looted the Republic and have ever since held military presence there.

Kagame and Museveni fell out of love for each when the greed for resources and power in the DRC happened. The Presidents wasn’t in clear accord of how the military enterprise and looting was supposed to happen. Which was a start of souring their relations.

Since then the levels of distrust and dishonesty has grown. They have both used each others state authorities, security agencies and spies to get ahead. These gentlemen have used shadow wars and conspicuous games to outplay each other. This being interference within the ranks of each others government. While they have sponsored militias and other organizations to undermine each too.

The states has also targeted civilians, deported them, tortured them and even extra judicially killed. That’s why some citizens has ended up in caskets on the border-points for the authorities to pick them up for burial in their respective countries. We can therefore see that the feudal leaders are using their citizens as pawns in their battle for supremacy.

Kagame and Museveni are doing this. It is not like only one fella is doing this. They are both doing it with their respective agencies. The numbers of deceased may vary and we can never know the whole total. As these leaders easily keeps things under wraps, unless they can humiliate and ridicule the other.

The latests tension and border closure of three years between only shows what sort of characters they are. These two are brothers of war. They won trust of each other in the battlefield and use their mind to get ahead of their enemies. Not like they made political gains by actually winning popularity.

We know recently the Kigali regime have been reported to be spying directly on people in Kampala. That is not surprising, but Kampala has also done the same to Kigali. Therefore, it is just a another twist of the tale. Clearly, the distrust and dishonest is continuing. The leaders cannot talk or make deals, which settles the stalemate. They don’t want to loose face and give way.

These are men who is used of burying their enemies. Kagame and Museveni have used military means in politics and their foes has had fatale endings. Even internal high ranking officials has lost their lives, because knew to much and they were afraid they would talk. That’s what sort of men these men are. Not only are targeting their enemies, but they can silence loyal friends too. If they have too… they are doing it and it usually poison or a “medical condition” even if all reports of these officials was healthy until the “final hour”. That’s why it will take a lot to get them talk and parley.

Certainly, the shadow games has to be addressed. The reasons for distrust and dishonesty has to severed and shared among them. They have to find measures and means to talk. The two has been able to wage several of wars. They know how each other operates and what objective they serves.

With that in mind… Kagame and Museveni should have all things ready. They could easily get the meals, the documents and their handlers on speed-dial. However, these two don’t want to humble themselves. They are demi-gods in their own domains. The brothers has become bigger than life and that’s why they cannot just discuss the matters. No, it has to be epic and a legendary end.

That’s why Kagame is sponsoring Arsenal and PSG. This is why Museveni is preparing Muhoozi and awaiting his oil to produced. Nevertheless, lives is at stake and these two doesn’t seem to care. These lives are disposable anyway. Just like their critics and their foes.

That’s why the ones who made each great and helped each other to become the “new breed” of leaders. Are now becoming old men with grudges. Who cannot forgive and forget. Neither can they show character or even courtesy. Instead they just show bloodlust and greed. As they are trying to figure out the next scheme to undermine each other. Peace.

Opinion: IPOD is officially dead

The Interparty Organization for Dialogue (IPOD) was rejected by the largest opposition party the National Unity Platform (NUP). The IPOD was just set-up in 2010 even if it felt like it has been there forever.

IPOD haven’t lived up to its potential and neither is the organization at any use at this stage. Unless, the President and his regime wants positive publicity. If not he tries to intervene and participate to get his will. He has also used to seek opposition and undermine their efforts as well. Where he has tried to find the “Good DP” and the “Good FDC” as well. That is what he does and the manner of which this works is futile now.

That’s why its healthy that NUP isn’t becoming a member of IPOD or participate in the Summits/Councils, which isn’t delivering anything worthwhile. Not at this point in time and been nothing substantial to show for either.

We know Museveni is hurt that the party of Bobi Wine and with a massive mandate in the Parliament isn’t showing up. He is playing with the older parties and the ones who doesn’t have the same relevance as before. This is showing that the IPOD is fading…

IPOD haven’t been a tangible asset or a enterprise for good dialogue either. The President has shown up late and the Summits hasn’t showed any progress. The last thing that happened was that the President promised billions of shillings to party coffers and nothing else.

The IPOD haven’t been used for electoral legislation or reform. Neither has it been used to ensure a level playing-field for campaigns or party work. No, it is only used for a decoy and buying the President time. For some strange reason the Dutch is willing to pay for the parties and meetings. They hopefully enjoy the empty slogans and statements, because it hasn’t paid-off.

The time of the IPOD is over. The IPOD is overrated and it isn’t working. So the Dutch should stop wasting their time and money. The IPOD is just a tool to legitimize the President and his regime. It can look like he has dialogue and a drive for “multi-party” democracy. When in reality he would crash and destroy them at any given moment.

Therefore, someone should do the IPOD a favour and hold a final ceremony. Now that the NUP isn’t part of it. The signal of it’s death bed is final. It should have been the times when FDC in the past boycotted it. However, they always returned …

IPOD should be buried and the casket of IPOD should be held in the halls of Parliament for a week to mourn the deceased. Nevertheless, there shouldn’t be any sorrow or pain in it’s demise. The IPOD never served it’s purpose or objective. It became a wastage of time and funds. This is why the burial would be a nice ending to a tragic story of a futile organization. Peace.

National Unity Platform (NUP) letter to Interparty Organization for Dialogue (IPOD) – National Unity Platform Eligibility to Join IPOD (02.09.2021)

Opinion: Museveni’s audacity

That’s unfortunate and it is a step backwards. Those military coups are of low value, we had them in the 1960s, and they were part of Africa’s problems. I condemn the coup, I don’t accept the idea of coups, they are not a solution. They should get out, they should be told to go away because they are not a solution to problems of the country” – Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in a France24 Interview (08.09.2021).

The New York Times Reported this on the 31st January 1986: “Some say they were also caught off guard when Mr. Museveni named himself President right after seizing the capital, while his forces were still fighting in some parts of the country” (Sheila Rule – ‘MAN IN THE NEWS: YOWERI KAGUTA MUSEVENI; WINNER IN UGANDA’ 31.01.1986, The New York Times).

We know that the National Resistance Movement is on the 26th January every year, because President Museveni was sworn-in and officially His Excellency (H.E.) from that day forward to this present day.

What is really ironic about Museveni’s interview today. Is that he did not only intervene and participate in one coup, but several. Museveni participated in the overthrow and military intervention to bring down then President Idi Amin Dada. Museveni helped to bring down President Milton Obote’s second time as President. To further the cause, he deposed Godfrey Lukongwa Binaisa and Tito Okello too. So, it is not like Museveni has done one coup, but several of them actually.

That’s why it’s really weird that he has such a stance towards what happening in Guinea. When he made his career and settled the score with the same means several of times. It is not like he did it once, but he did it a few more times too. Until, he was sure to have consolidated and weakened all opponents.

This is why it’s a double standard and hypocrisy. In a true dictatorial fashion. However, he needs to be called out for it. He has boasted about the coups and how he got rid of his enemies in the past.

I hope the ghosts of the former Presidents and their souls will haunt him at night. Hope the forefathers that he brought down will give him nightmares. So, that he cannot rest or sleep. Because, he shouldn’t get away with this.

It is disgusting and disrespectful. A man who built his career with coup d’etat and deposing head of states. Should be more positive, but we know he lives in fear of someone doing this to him. Museveni has also intervened and deposed leaders in the region too. So, it is not like he hasn’t participated in it for his gains in the Democratic Republic of Congo where he did it twice and in Rwanda too.

We are just supposed forget those things too. Where he got own friendly leaders in-charge and made him a bigger regional power. That’s what he did and he no trouble to do this. This was supporting and participating in coup d’etat elsewhere as well. Using military intervention to overthrow other government and not only doing this several of times in Kampala.

That’s why Museveni is a giant hypocrite and more people needs to call him out on it. He wouldn’t be in-charge or be the President if he didn’t control the army. If Museveni didn’t win the bush-war and took control of Kampala in January 1986. He wouldn’t be there… and have the ability he has today.

That’s why he believes and his whole career was built around the idea of a coup. Because, it is not like he was popular or was a genuine statesmen before he rebelled. This is why he should know better, but he rather lie, which is one of his well known traits. Peace.

Opinion: Two Emyooga reports says what we already knew

There are no coordinated guidelines put in place for effective management of Emyooga program” (STATUS REPORT ON EMYOOGA SAVINGAND CREDIT COOPERATIVE SOCIETIES IN THE RWENZORI REGION, August 2021).

There is really a lack of character, implementation and plans for policies like Emyooga. It is a half-assed project to be unleashed ahead of elections and a new money-making schemes. Before they have even evaluation any of the older ones, which haven’t ended either.

The Emyooga is using “micro-finance” as a trick to create development. However, there is little proof of results or getting value out of it. Both reports states this in different manner. The report from Rwenzori region is much more direct and the report from Lango Sub-Region is more diplomatic. Nevertheless, the reports themselves states what we all knew.

That’s why I am taking the quotes that says it all and shows what the Emyooga programme is lacking. We knew this was a re-launch and rebranding of older government schemes. Even if it is so… the state doesn’t know how to monitor, organize or even aim at the development goals, which it is supposed to deliver. That’s the tragic thing here… as it is a waste of public resources and tax money. The state isn’t serving the public and their needs, but instead has a public relations with these sorts of government programme.

The SACCO funds should be placed under the responsibility of the CAO such that there is better accountability. The RDCs can play the monitoring role” (…) “Communication on Emyooga programme needs to be streamlined to ensure that the information received is clear and implementation uniform across the SACCOs and districts” (PARLIAMENTARY REPORT

EMYOOGA PROGRAMME LANGO SUB REGION, August 2021).

It is equally important to note that for many decades, the Government has made attempts to reach the common person through programs like ENTANDIKWA among others but the mode and manner of implementation has always failed the desired goals and the EMYOOGA is no exception and needs very quick remedial interventions to avert another wastage of tax payers

money” (STATUS REPORT ON EMYOOGA SAVINGAND CREDIT COOPERATIVE SOCIETIES IN THE RWENZORI REGION, August 2021).

What the reports are saying is very clear. There is a need to organize it better, which means that state officials or appointments should get mandates over Emyooga. These two reports are only from two regions, but I wouldn’t shock if we got similar results from elsewhere. This shows that the programme isn’t properly working and neither done correctly. If it was implemented and with due diligence … the ones that the Emyooga is targeting would actually get the help.

However, the Emyooga is more a vanity project more than actually doing anything sincere. This is winging state programs and not planning how to do it. That is the tragedy here and it is just a waste. A government scheme… not made to deliver but prosper for someone else. Peace.
