1986 Speeches vs. 2020 Response [Museveni edition]

Well, I had to do this. As the President put forward an ideal of what age does and what politics is. In that regard, to answer him back. I thought what way could I do it best. Well, I remembered some quotations that is another reflection and proves the mind-set has changed over the years. Not strange after 34 years in power. However, President Museveni shouldn’t get off the hook.

That is why I first take a piece of the 12 pages or 13 pages response to Social Media, which the President unleashed on the world. I will not analyse much of it. Because, well, it is waste of time. But I will address one piece and then show what he has said in the past. Just to show how age matters and not just ideology as he said today.

Take a look!

Social Media Response:

You old man, you are too weak, you must retire and hand power to the capable young people. The NRM answer, young and old, is that politics (which means management of society) is not biology (young, old, woman, man) but ideology. Ideology is like diagnosis of a patient and prescribing treatment. Similarly, political actors, individuals or groups, must first carry out diagnosis of the society they want to lead and prescribe a cure in the form of ideology, strategy and programmes (manifesto)” (Museveni, 06.08.2020).

Well, we see the defence there. He surely likes to think that is a brilliant move. However, it is contradictory to himself in 1986. As there are certain things he said and I will show that underneath here.

A piece of the Fundamental Change speech of 1986:

There is, in philosophy, something called obscurantism, a phenomenon where ideas are deliberately obscured so that what is false appears to be true and vice versa. We in the NRM are not interested in the politics of obscurantism: we want to get to the heart of the matter and find out what the problem is. Being a leader is like being a medical doctor. A medical doctor must diagnose his patient’s disease before he can prescribe treatment. Similarly, a political leader must diagnose correctly the ills of society. A doctor who does not diagnose his patient’s disease adequately is nothing but a quack” (Museveni 26.01.1986).

Museveni addressed Dar Es-Salaam University on the 11th July 1986:

You, as young people, should be at the forefront of making sacrifices for Africa. Often, in Africa, instead of young people being at the forefront of the struggle for social justice, they are at the forefront of the struggle for privileges. Your mission is to understand the politics of your country, and of Africa in general, in order to to discover negative and positive politics. You must discover the path Africa should take in order to get out of the situation in which we found ourselves. Whatever profession you choose, you should be an instrument in that struggle for the greater understanding of the economic, social, and political problems of Africa. Therefore, an ideological grasp of what is right and what is wrong becoming crucial” (Museveni 11.07.1986).

Here we are seeing a different understanding from the same man. Which is really special, but nothing new, as this man have to bend on every word he has ever said. With all the years in power. He got to twist his words and trade waters differently. In such a manner, that the liberation got traded away on the altar of power for life.

In this regard, Museveni says that someone uses politics ina manner where it make what is false into true. Which is what Museveni does in 2020. He says NRM is open to everyone and has answers for everyone. However, that bus have left the stage and is already overcrowded.

What is funny is that his still the medical doctor 34 years after. Talking about diagnosis in 2020, as he did sort of 1986. On that point his still the same man. But, on youth and their roles, they are just a part now. Not the front-line, the forefront of the struggle. No, they are just a piece who has to follow the ideology and the management of society. Which is very different from in 1986. When they had to discover the problems and get them out of it too.

Now, they are just supposed be on the bandwagon, the bandwagon that was the issue of the past. As they we’re only in it for the privileges and not to fight the struggle for social justice. Most likely the old man has trouble with the youth fighting for social justice today. Because, they are fighting him to get social justice. That is why his not mentioning that. As he wants everyone on his team and being part of his ideology, but not give the social justice he cried havoc for in 1986.

That’s how easily to show how power corrupts. How a man can go from saying things to inspire, to things to keep status quo. Which means himself and his old guard running the show. Since this man will not let go. Peace.

Opinion: Zaake MP will only get served injustice…

There will be no justice in the cases surrounding Francis Zaake MP. To think so is bitterly naive and redundant at this point. The National Unity Platform (NUP) and People Power Movement MP for Mityana will not be served justice or paid costs for the hardship, the torture or the arbitrary arrests done against him.

All the pain he has gone through since Arua By-Election. All the arrests, charges and the twice tortured for being the man he is and the sort of opposition he is. Zaake is getting the blunt and brutal force dropped right in his lap.

Zaake MP the man who couldn’t stand on his feet, but still was able to escape police custody. The man who needed permission to get counsel and visits at a hospital. Needed special care and concern before he got a fit-to-flight and bond to do so. Even has he was struggling after the blunt force and the trauma he had.

That is the sort of treatment and service the state delivers to its own MP. The ones speaking of justice, democracy and freedom. Should clearly look into the cases surrounding this man. The treatment this man is getting and what he has to go through. Just to give neighbours some food, to be an active politician and activist. It clearly costs and the authorities can violate you without any punishment or retribution towards them.

The can break his arm, hit his head and bruise his skin. They can harm a man without any consideration or inkling. These people can just use their means to cause pain and suffering. While he has to beg for justice, go back to the courts who are not willing to apprehend their own, but a man like him. They can produce this man in court, when his nearly stopping from breathing and at a abysmal state. That is fine and dandy, but the ones causing him that state. Will not even attend a trial or be called for. This shows whose the overlords and whose the peasants of this society.

When police officers, law enforcement can skate free after harming and damaging a fellow citizen, a citizen who is an MP and they don’t even have to set foot in a court. While this man had to be produced when his skull was harmed and his bones was healing. That shows the impunity and the lack of justice in the Republic.

How easily they could raid his home, detain him and hurt him. While it will take forever and be nearly impossible to answers for the ills committed. That will be like pulling canine teeth. An affair and troublesome ways to justice.

In the republic of Museveni. Impunity and injustice is awarded, while defiance and civil disobedience against him is punished with furious vengeance. A vengeance that Zaake knows all to well. He has tasted the bittersweet remedy of the power-trip these officers has, as they are following command and orders from “high above”.

That is why Zaake will not get his justice. Especially not for now. They will not do that, because that implies their actions are wrong. That the state did something wrong in ordering and sanctioning it. This will not happen, they rather keep it up in the air and hoping it will be forgotten about. Peace.

Opinion: Museveni launches an expose himself campaign

Corruption is first and foremost ideological. This is because the corrupt don’t know how to be prosperous sustainably. They don’t look for prosperity sustainably. They want to be rich at the expense of society. They are parasites” Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (05.08.2020)

When the State House and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni launches “Expose Corruption Campaign” the man is initially exposing himself. All tides and waters goes to the shores of the State House. The deals, kickbacks and envelopes have an origin of the “high above”. There is no major corruption scandal without some touches from the head of state.

Ministers can run big schemes, Gen. Salim Selah can do whatever, businessmen can launch their businesses as long as there some sort of arrangement. That is what is happening. Everyone knows it, but the President can act like its not a big deal.

While the biggest corruption scandals has gone down without any proper litigation and arrests. This being Ministers who has made fake tenders and waste public funds. That has made roads expensive, medicine vanish and made procurement of cars into national corruption scandals. While, the Prime Ministers, Ministers and associates are all involved in it.

That is why this “expose corruption” is a farce. The President is doing this as a publicity stunt ahead of the polls and the campaign season. However, he has started numerous of organizations and entities to beat corruption. Nevertheless, there is always some shillings who disappear and goes missing.

Just think about this, he calls himself a insect and a bloodsucker too. A leach and a parasite … that is not a way you should describe fellow human beings. However, Museveni have done this plenty of times. Because, he cannot help himself.

President Museveni have used all tricks of the trade. Made dozens of laws, government institutions, but they are all pointless as they are never aiming at the big-fish. The biggest fish being himself. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) will never target itself, but blame others for it.

That is just his common tactic. He has used this trick before and this campaign will not change anything. It is a publicity stunt… and will not change a thing. Peace.

Work-Out Plan Part II: Museveni’s misguided publicity stunt

“After work last night, I challenged my Bazukulu to an indoor work-out. We did Forty Push-ups. Just like I have always advised, even at your own home, you can stay safe, and remain fit and healthy” – Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (05.08.2020).

In April 2020 after about a month of lockdown in the Republic. The President after a small waiting period did release a 2-minute tape showing his running skills and his weird push-ups. Which became a running joke and satire. As his ass was so much up, it nearly looked like the old man was training for something else.

Alas, the Point Blank skit is back at it again. He released a new tape, sadly not a Pornhub, but a Work-Out tape part 2. This time it’s a 1,31 minutes long tape, where he runs and take proper push-ups. You still see his wealth and grandeur of his estate. A fancy TV, beautiful blue floors and whatnot. The President got wealth and can prove some sort of health too.

However, this home exercise thing only makes the old man look foolish. It make him look like a joke. Trying to be youthful and of full vigour as his clocking the age of 75 years old. Yes, he can be proud of the ability to move like he does and have the health he do have at that age. Nevertheless, the man is out of bound and out of touch. If he thinks this is the trick to gain support for his overstaying in office.

Mr. Africa’s problem is that leaders never leave office. Is that the fundamental change of guards never came and that no one is following the correct line. Mr. Mustard Seed grown into a big ass tree, who will not serve or not deliver hope to the public, but instead empty yields.

The old man can think this second round of Kanye West Work-Out Video will reach the masses, but he will only be ridiculed. This is not the sort of tape you unleash on the masses, if you want to be taken seriously. No, this is the run of the mill, skit to play for friends and take a shot every time he makes a push-up.

Museveni is a dumb-dumb for this one. His neither cool, collected or seems like a fella who should run any public office. Instead, he should get a personal trainer and go to a gym. Maybe become a Hugh Hefner for the ladies of Kampala. Who knows, but this is not the act of a serious politician. That is for sure.

Bosco, Bosiko or Jajja, this is a bad move. Making you look stupid and that is fine by me. However, kudos and keep on pushing. Peace.

Opinion: 536 MPs in the 11th Parliament [means an additional 217 MPs since 2006]

In the 10th Parliament there is 459 MPs, out of them 77 MPs are above 60 years older. Today, these people added 5 MPs for elderly, so there are for the UPDF, People with Disabilities (PWDs) and Youth. The elderly is for the ones who are above 60 years old. That is 17% of the Parliament.

Maybe it could be less in the 11th Parliament, but the growth of the Parliament is now going up to 536 MPs after the recent calculation by Parliament Watch. That is an addition of 77 MPs between one term to another. From 2016 to 2021. The 2021 will be a free for all. This because of the 46 new counties, 5 cities and newly created districts in the Republic.

In 8th Parliament there was 319 MPs (2006-2011) to 11th Parliament with 536 MPs (2021-2026), which is 217 MPs added since 2006. That is an addition of 21 MPs on average, each year since 2006. This is an astonishing feat by the MPs to make this many seats within the reach of time.

We cannot make this up, the amount of carved out districts and counties. The makings of counties into districts and sub-counties into counties. Which in the end makes the representation for smaller groups of population and gives areas so many MPs. While they are not delivering more services or more needed local government.

This has been shown that some districts has more MPs than doctors and specialized treatments for its citizens. That is just proving a point of how the state is using funds on salaries, emoluments, allowances and other perks they have.

Now, there will be 5 MPs for elderly there, as there isn’t enough with VP, Prime Minister and President of advanced age. All people who could easily gotten pensions from NSSF. The same MPs abolished the age limit, so that the President can be from the stone age and been a buddy with Fred Flintstones.

This is why the recent addition is foolish, as there are plenty of people who are old enough to represent this group. Soon there need to be MPs for newborns and albino. Just to ensure everyone is included and every seat is filled on Nile Avenue. This is just bamboozling the Republic.

The citizens deserves representation, but this is just additional costs without consideration of the revenue. This is just using their role as representatives for selfish reasons and securing another term. All of these additions this term is just to finalize an opportunity to control the next parliament.

To make the 11th Parliament so big that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) can have overreaching manpower and gerrymander it to make it easy to rig another election. That is why the districts and counties are squeezed to pieces just months ahead of elections, while parties are working to find flag-bearers for everywhere. You just got scrap together candidates in the last minute before the campaigning starts, as there are new places to campaign with no second to prepare.

This is all game for the NRM to prepare. They are not minding the bill, they hope some foreign backer or multi-national will foot that. These people are hoping a loan will pay their salaries in the next term.

2021 cannot come quickly enough. The amount of MPs are growing every week and we are at 537 MPs. Could it become about 550 by next week? Why not? Maybe some snoozefest people in Kabalagala is forgotten and doesn’t have a proper MP. Peace.

Opinion: Don’t be walking zombies ahead of 2021…

Zombies don’t run”Simon Pegg

This is not the time to be narrow-minded nor ignorant. Yes, the General Election of 2021 is rigged and will be militarized. Still, the ills of the past with the ills of today shall not go without a cost. The cost shouldn’t be burden on the citizens, but on the authorities who sanction them.

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) and President Museveni have promised gold, silver and bronze. The President have promised not to go over two terms. He has promised not to seek office after turned 75 years, but always breached the promises to step down.

He has revised the Constitution to fit his life. The laws are fitted and changed to work for him and his allies. Not to work for the whole Republic. The authorities and the law enforcement are working for his agenda and not serving the public.

That is why crimes are not solved. Murders are cold cases. Atrocities are tried to be forgotten about and buried like the remains of its victims. However, the memory of these people lingers on and the state cannot erase the memory. Nevertheless, they can instead change the goal-post and look into political crimes and create new laws. Where the civil space becomes smaller and have new units to ensure more control of the opposition. That is what they do.

With all this in mind, the legacy and the remain of the fundamental change is gone. The deceased, the arrested and the abducted have tarnished that. The overstaying in power and misuse of office. If it is scandals, handshakes or just simple theft. It continues to happen and the associates close to power get away with it too. There is no retribution to the ones close to the throne, but an opposition spitting at a junction get fined or arrested.

We can act like this cool. The polls are coming up and the machine of fear is on full force. The Police Force get a specialized unit to enforce new regulations. The army has another outfit to intimidate the crowds and the law enforcement will use all means to disperse the public.

There is no level playing field. There was never plan for it. The state will use all coins, institutions and funds to pay for loyalty. They will give away cars, soap, t-shirts and whatever it takes. There will be songs, will be tales of glory and government schemes surrounding every corner of the Republic.

That is why we have to be woke. Not that there is a shot to win on the ballot or ensure victory through the polls. That is not happening any time soon. This is naive to think a man who took power, amended the Constitution twice for personal reasons will suddenly step down. There is a need for revolution with support of the military to take him down. Unless, that doesn’t happen. The same old procedure continues in 2021. With VPN, media black-out and mass arrests, while Electoral Commission is cooking the numbers to fit the bill.

Our minds need to be prepared. There is no victory in sight. However, there is still hope. A figment of hope, as there are rising generation who are waking up. We who have lived a while longer. Has to have hope that they will not accept the rigging and revolt. However, we cannot know if selfies and drip is more important than electioneering. That is something time will tell.

What we do know is that Museveni will promise flying pigs, dragons and unicorns to win. He will say whatever and threaten anyone in his way. His relentless demeanour will persist this time too.

We cannot expect the old man to change his ways now. He will use the same means and maybe new excuses. However, he hopes for the same results and that some foreign backers can bankroll this term too. Because, he knows and we knows that his cronyism needs more revenue to pay the debts created by these additions to the state. Peace.

Opinion: Operation “Scientific” elections begins with ‘Violence Suppression Unit’

Well, this wasn’t shocking, neither surprising. The state have already Local Defence Unit (LDUs) ready like the Crime Preventers in 2016. The latest edition is an systematic organization inside the Police Force. Therefore, to the General Elections in 2021. The Republic will have two units made for the elections. The LDUs and the Violence Suppression Unit (VSU) both to create “public order” and intimidate the public in the right direction.

The President who is running for his eight term has done to every single election. What is new that its mandated to secure the radios and media houses. That the Police can clear politicians and secure crowd control outside the “venues” or the media houses. This is deliberate.

Just like the Public Order Management Act and its control of gatherings and rallies. The VSU comes like a gift plated with gold. The golden goose of joy for the authorities, that can block and make excuses for politicians to not be on the airwaves and on air in general. It is a gift to control and systemic oppress the dissent.

We can lie, but that is their game. Just like the POMA made it impossible for the opposition to properly campaign, hold rallies, concerts and public gatherings. Without the proper clearance, the police and their units could crack-down quickly. As well, as having all knowledge of the planned meetings and gatherings. Because, the opposition needs to apply to be allowed to meet and greet.

In the same manner this will go. The usage of COVID-19 and the Coronavirus to make it nearly impossible for the opposition to do it. They need a go from the radio and media houses. In addition, they need the go from the VSU too. If the VSU doesn’t see it fit, they can dismiss it or come to barge in besiege the “venue”. Be sure the UCC will also come knocking and revoke licenses to the ones who dares.

Can we expect similar efforts like the Violent Crime Crack Unit (VCCU), which got renamed to Rapid Response Unit (RRU). The RRU or VSU, which was a directed from the Central Investigation Division (CID). Should we expect the VSU to be the same in 2020 and 2021?

I wouldn’t be shocked if similar men took charge and ran wild with it. As they mandate are fluid and objective is to intimidate and scare politicians from perform during elections. These are not terrorist or violent crime offenders, but people vying for public office. They want to look good and electable. Not look like hoodlums or gangsters.

Maybe this is the ‘Operation Wembly’ of the campaigns. We have seen the Special Force Command, the Black Mambas, the Flying Squad, ISO and CMI tail-gating politicians in the past. They have all followed and done the bidding of the state. The VSU will be no different. It is only a name-change, but the same objective.

This VSU will not stop the Movement nor its associates from campaigning or holding rallies. However, it will stop opposition from showing up at radio stations and gathering around these. As the opposition cannot “scientifically” hold rallies, but the regime can and they are currently doing so.

We know the drill and this will cause havoc, tear-gas, arbitrary arrests and so fourth. That comes with the scheduled programming. Also some stray-bullets and some innocent lives lost because of it all. That is just what the state does to it own.

The VSU will be no different. It is more of the same. Just another name and another, but the objective is the same. Make it nearly impossible for the opposition to do politicking and spreading their message. While its a free-for-all on the side of the Movement. They are birds chirping everywhere, while the opposition cannot even come out of their cages. Peace.

Opinion: Vilify the opposition to save face …

We know there is elections on the horizon. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) is busy sending its troops to social media and media houses. They are trying to make People Power Movement – National Unity Platform (PPM-NUP) looking like rising monster. While still continuing to ridicule and mock Dr. Kizza Besigye and his Defiance campaign of 2016.

That they are aiming at Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and his new party and movement. That is to be expected. Just like they went full gong-ho on Besigye and Forum for Democratic Change (FDC). The same people doesn’t even mention the UPC; JEEMA, DP, ANT or anyone else from the opposition. That’s because they are not a real threat.

They are going after Bobi Wine and Besigye for a reason. Their supporters are hoodlums, scum and anarchists. That is because of the message and their will to have a peaceful transition from the current status quo. The Modus Operandi is to make them look like a villain. They are the equivalent to Disney villains, who are there to destroy and cause evil. Even when there is no proof of that and to the contrary, the state does the evil towards them.

The Movement and their men are calling them fascists and intolerant. While they are not tolerating their existing in the firs place. Which is ironic, as these two groups of opposition struggles to open party offices and hold party meetings. While the Movement are doing internal party elections and holding rallies. Meanwhile the opposition have to act “scientific” about the same elections. Still, the opposition is the problem.

Do you see what they did there?

With this in mind. The predetermined discussion is really showing the lack of merit they have. They got to paint the opposition as crazy dictators or autocratic leaders. As they are themselves into the same. They are following the Movement and accepting what it does. They are following the sole candidate since 1986. These people are defending the ones who send the army, abduct and arrest the opposition. While calling the opposition bad, despicable and the next path to destruction.

That is why they are calling it cults… the opposition, while not looking into the mirror about the Old Man with the Hat. The man of the mustard seed and the failure of the 10 Point Programme. They will say the man needs time, another term and haven’t neglected his supposed mission.

Because of that, the use of the military, the police and all entities of the state to bend the will of the public. The apologists and defenders need to make a vision, an image of the opposition as dangerous. They will turn into worse and be beasts of men. Because, you see how Museveni and his folks is now. And you don’t want anyone worse then them, right?

However, there is no proof of this and they misuse sketchy words to address them. While not seeing how they are calling civilians derogatory words, because of their affiliation with them. If the same people suddenly turned to the Movement they would be sensitised and be directed to right direction. That shows the cultish behaviour at home, but they are casting that net to trick the world of the opposition.

This is why, there is a need for a conversation, as the People Power and FDC is made villains. While they are doing this to stop looking the deeds of the Movement and how they control the state. Because, we are instead dissecting the ones who are the challengers and the rising stars on the political field. The ones who sounds and wants change to what’s ruling the republic.

It is right to look into them and question them. However, maliciously attacking them and using the words fitting yourself isn’t a good look. When they call the ones Bobi Wine a cult, well, the sole candidate for 34 years have built his own church in his Movement. While Bobi Wine is promising to deliver a change, just like Museveni did in his early age. Therefore, you cannot dismiss him and say he will turn into Museveni. That is a false narrative and cannot be proven until he turns (if he even does).

So, this is a sideshow from the reality, as the Movement and their defenders doesn’t have anything good to prove themselves and needs to make the opposition look ungodly. Because, they are neither saints nor nuns coming with salvation, but instead a gospel filled with hypocrisy. Hoping nobody calls them out for it. Peace.

Magyezi MP sealed his own fate…

To a lackey no man can be great, for a lackey has his own conception of greatness.” – Leo Tolstoy

I cannot feel sorry for a man who is willingly and defending a private motion to change a constitution to create a President for life. In that regard, Raphael Magyezi have been in parliament for Igara West County since 2011. So, when this second term ends in 2021 he got ten years as a lawmaker and representative for National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Magyezi is a lackey, a proud one too. Who cannot understand why people hate him. He has made his bed and now he got to sleep in it. When you launch motions like the abolishment of Age Limit and preaches to the choir that the President needs more time. You are selling your soul for that cause.

Magyezi isn’t a victim, but a man feeling the consequences of his actions. That he did this and stood high is now costing. The MP for two terms has become synonymous with life presidency. That he wrote the motion and got it voted in.

The man can ask for sympathy and well wishes, but his a lackey. A loyal lackey who have delivered everything the President and his associates wants. If it was life presidency: check. If the president wants more gerrymandering: check.

The man always delivers to the needs of the Movement and the President.

Magyezi is tainted by his own actions. His bleeding yellow and cannot run away from it. Agent Yellow will flee the parliament and not run for a third term. The locals have thrown stones at him after the abolishment of age limit and he knows this was a unpopular move. However, he did it for selfish reasons to gain momentum with the President.

He has pulled out of the race for 2021. However, don’t be shocked if he get appointed to the cabinet or even a state agency. This man is done with politics. Just a man who knows his yellow heart isn’t appreciated.

Raphael did something great for one man, but he did not serve the whole republic. The MP did that for selfish reasons and it has backfired. The State House loves the man and NRM CEC vouches for him. However, in the streets he cannot walk in peace.

Magyezi MP has done this all to himself. This is self-inflicted and that why its hard to find mercy for the man. It is different if he had stumbled or fallen by mere unluck. However, the man did it all on its own and stood up like a champion for it.

In the end his just a lackey. Magyezi and the abolishment of article 102(b) is who he are. He stood on the pedestal and preached sermons for this matter. That is why he has to find solace on his own.

Magyezi MP is wounded, but he will not go away. He will be appointed or get a hack-job elsewhere. As the throne appreciate the loyalty and will offer some tokens for favours done in past. Peace.

Opinion: Mwenda’s Freudian slip on the up-coming elections

Again, and again Andrew Mwenda write his “exposes” or “think pieces” and think his bloody brilliant. Like his gods gift to the political spectrum. However, it always ends up at the same place. Where the pass goes to President Museveni and the National Resistance Movement. It is predestined there. In this piece to as he calls it: “Uganda’s opposition politics of self-destruction”.

I will only discuss three paragraphs of it, because to the rest is just a waste time and I have wasted enough time looking into the text of Andrew. Secondly, they are not well read by the public. So, his popularity has dwindled and I understand why. It’s all the same and no any progression or deeper dive. A simple attack on the opposition, while defending status quo. That is the brilliant mind of Mwenda in 2020.

I will take piece by piece and then call it a day. Feel me?

As we approach the 2021 general elections, it is apparent that the opposition, as expected, has handed over an easy victory to President Yoweri Museveni. Yet after the election the same opposition politicians will fret and cry that the election has been rigged. It is even more intriguing because the opposition claim to be fighting a dictatorship” (Mwenda, 01.08.2020).

We are agreeing here. Museveni will win 2021. They didn’t hand the President anything. They couldn’t hand him everything, because everything was already in his hands. The opposition and the public in general are now the owners, they are the lenders on the mercy of the Presidency. It shouldn’t be like this, but it is. That is why the premiss that the opposition gives away something is far-fetched. You cannot give away something you never had or any ability to hold.

Based on this, government cannot ensure a level playing field in the elections. It follows therefore bthat the opposition in Uganda must strategize to win an election where all the decks are stacked against them; where the incumbent will dominate the media, use the army and police to disperse their rallies, harass and intimidate or buy off their polling agents, and even stuff ballot boxes” (Mwenda, 01.08.2020).

Here the plot thickens… he is saying it straight up. No jokes and no merits, but just the truth. There is no level playing field and all the cards are played against the opposition. He says what we all know and what the government does to the opposition. The oppression, the violence and silencing of them. What is striking is that he thinks the ones who cannot hold rallies and cannot change the officials at the Electoral Commission can suddenly rig the polls? Whatever Andrew is smoking. I need some and send me a plane of it, asap.

That Andrew says this is directly saying what we all know and proves the point of many of us. That the elections will not be sincere, but a charade made by the government to be legit. While he daydreams after smoking some powerful powder, which gives him ideas that the opposition can rig what the government is already controlling. I seriously need an order and the connect to get it.

Locked into appeal via social class, the opposition need to see themselves at a strategic disadvantage as a perpetual minority. To build a majority they need to position themselves in the center to catch everyone. This means they have to accommodate everyone who shows any signs of wavering against Museveni. But the leading forces in the opposition to wit Defiance led by Besigye and its bastard child, People Power led by Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, have adopted a politics of exclusion. They insist on total and absolute loyalty from their followers” (Mwenda, 01.08.2020).

It is not like the ones dispersing people, using the army against the people and stuffing ballots have the popularity of the majority. If the government had the popularity he says the opposition needs. Then the government wouldn’t need to rig the elections and use intimidation to win. That is simple equation, but he digress from there. Because, everything is always the oppositions problem.

He continues to use slurs against People Power. They are bastards of Besigye, which is weird by all means. That means Besigye have gotten kids outside marriage and they in the public eye. Alas, I am just joking here, but the reality is clear.

The editor and journalist claims the People Power and Besigye supporter are excluding people. If they are doing that, what is government doing with its army and police force? Isn’t using tear-gas, ammunition and arresting people really excluding people?

Well, in the manner of the politics, the FDC and People Power have welcomed all walks of life. They just have to follow their party structures, pressure group and their programs. It is really that easy. You can follow what they stand for and what their objectives are. It might be in contrast to the Movement and the Government. However, the man doesn’t say this, but only speaks volumes of Mwenda. This isn’t shocking, but his ways to defend his case. Peace.
