National Unity Platform (NUP) letter to Interparty Organization for Dialogue (IPOD) – National Unity Platform Eligibility to Join IPOD (02.09.2021)

“That’s unfortunate and it is a step backwards. Those military coups are of low value, we had them in the 1960s, and they were part of Africa’s problems. I condemn the coup, I don’t accept the idea of coups, they are not a solution. They should get out, they should be told to go away because they are not a solution to problems of the country” – Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in a France24 Interview (08.09.2021).
The New York Times Reported this on the 31st January 1986: “Some say they were also caught off guard when Mr. Museveni named himself President right after seizing the capital, while his forces were still fighting in some parts of the country” (Sheila Rule – ‘MAN IN THE NEWS: YOWERI KAGUTA MUSEVENI; WINNER IN UGANDA’ 31.01.1986, The New York Times).
We know that the National Resistance Movement is on the 26th January every year, because President Museveni was sworn-in and officially His Excellency (H.E.) from that day forward to this present day.
What is really ironic about Museveni’s interview today. Is that he did not only intervene and participate in one coup, but several. Museveni participated in the overthrow and military intervention to bring down then President Idi Amin Dada. Museveni helped to bring down President Milton Obote’s second time as President. To further the cause, he deposed Godfrey Lukongwa Binaisa and Tito Okello too. So, it is not like Museveni has done one coup, but several of them actually.
That’s why it’s really weird that he has such a stance towards what happening in Guinea. When he made his career and settled the score with the same means several of times. It is not like he did it once, but he did it a few more times too. Until, he was sure to have consolidated and weakened all opponents.
This is why it’s a double standard and hypocrisy. In a true dictatorial fashion. However, he needs to be called out for it. He has boasted about the coups and how he got rid of his enemies in the past.
I hope the ghosts of the former Presidents and their souls will haunt him at night. Hope the forefathers that he brought down will give him nightmares. So, that he cannot rest or sleep. Because, he shouldn’t get away with this.
It is disgusting and disrespectful. A man who built his career with coup d’etat and deposing head of states. Should be more positive, but we know he lives in fear of someone doing this to him. Museveni has also intervened and deposed leaders in the region too. So, it is not like he hasn’t participated in it for his gains in the Democratic Republic of Congo where he did it twice and in Rwanda too.
We are just supposed forget those things too. Where he got own friendly leaders in-charge and made him a bigger regional power. That’s what he did and he no trouble to do this. This was supporting and participating in coup d’etat elsewhere as well. Using military intervention to overthrow other government and not only doing this several of times in Kampala.
That’s why Museveni is a giant hypocrite and more people needs to call him out on it. He wouldn’t be in-charge or be the President if he didn’t control the army. If Museveni didn’t win the bush-war and took control of Kampala in January 1986. He wouldn’t be there… and have the ability he has today.
That’s why he believes and his whole career was built around the idea of a coup. Because, it is not like he was popular or was a genuine statesmen before he rebelled. This is why he should know better, but he rather lie, which is one of his well known traits. Peace.

“There are no coordinated guidelines put in place for effective management of Emyooga program” (STATUS REPORT ON EMYOOGA SAVINGAND CREDIT COOPERATIVE SOCIETIES IN THE RWENZORI REGION, August 2021).
There is really a lack of character, implementation and plans for policies like Emyooga. It is a half-assed project to be unleashed ahead of elections and a new money-making schemes. Before they have even evaluation any of the older ones, which haven’t ended either.
The Emyooga is using “micro-finance” as a trick to create development. However, there is little proof of results or getting value out of it. Both reports states this in different manner. The report from Rwenzori region is much more direct and the report from Lango Sub-Region is more diplomatic. Nevertheless, the reports themselves states what we all knew.
That’s why I am taking the quotes that says it all and shows what the Emyooga programme is lacking. We knew this was a re-launch and rebranding of older government schemes. Even if it is so… the state doesn’t know how to monitor, organize or even aim at the development goals, which it is supposed to deliver. That’s the tragic thing here… as it is a waste of public resources and tax money. The state isn’t serving the public and their needs, but instead has a public relations with these sorts of government programme.
“The SACCO funds should be placed under the responsibility of the CAO such that there is better accountability. The RDCs can play the monitoring role” (…) “Communication on Emyooga programme needs to be streamlined to ensure that the information received is clear and implementation uniform across the SACCOs and districts” (PARLIAMENTARY REPORT
EMYOOGA PROGRAMME LANGO SUB REGION, August 2021).
“It is equally important to note that for many decades, the Government has made attempts to reach the common person through programs like ENTANDIKWA among others but the mode and manner of implementation has always failed the desired goals and the EMYOOGA is no exception and needs very quick remedial interventions to avert another wastage of tax payers
money” (STATUS REPORT ON EMYOOGA SAVINGAND CREDIT COOPERATIVE SOCIETIES IN THE RWENZORI REGION, August 2021).
What the reports are saying is very clear. There is a need to organize it better, which means that state officials or appointments should get mandates over Emyooga. These two reports are only from two regions, but I wouldn’t shock if we got similar results from elsewhere. This shows that the programme isn’t properly working and neither done correctly. If it was implemented and with due diligence … the ones that the Emyooga is targeting would actually get the help.
However, the Emyooga is more a vanity project more than actually doing anything sincere. This is winging state programs and not planning how to do it. That is the tragedy here and it is just a waste. A government scheme… not made to deliver but prosper for someone else. Peace.

“A report by online retailer Jumia detailing mobile trends in the country by end of last year shows Uganda’s internet penetration has reached 42% with up to 19 million Ugandans now connected to the internet out of the total estimated population of the country that stands at 44.5 million people” (New Vision – ‘42% of Uganda’s population now connected to internet’2020).
Again and again First Lady of the Republic Janet Museveni writes her sermons or speeches. Because, she is a minister and the First Lady. Many will publish this without any question or sincere commentary. The Ministry of Education and Sports should have a ministry to run, but for some strange reasons has time to write these small “articles” boosted with scriptures and lessons for the general.
It is funny that she is talking about digital addiction and such. When the government she represents has blocked several of social media sites, which is only available through the usage of VPN. This is has been the case with Facebook who have been blocked since the general elections in January 2021. The government also have no issues shutting sites down or pages in general. The Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) can easily take away access and licenses to anyone who dares to go to hard on the government policies. Therefore, it is rich reading a text by the first lady… like we don’t know what the state does and is willing to do!
The Pastor starts by: “The problem of social media or digital addiction is relatively new, but it has really reached all over the world. It has been called the modern day addictive drug – like tobacco or alcohol. It leads to poor school performance, breakdown of family communication and delinquent behaviors” (Museveni, 06.09.2021).
Data and internet is an expensive thing in the Republic. It is not like data bundles are inexpensive and something anyone can afford. Especially not in Uganda. Still, the usage of internet is rising and usage is growing. However, the average citizen doesn’t have the network or cash to use the internet for long time. The smartphones has helped, but it’s not like it is steady problem up-country or elsewhere. Most likely this digital addiction isn’t a huge problem in Uganda. Then the data-bundles needs to be affordable and the telecom companies needs to make the internet speed better across the republic.
The Pastor continues: “As you, my young friends devote all your time on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Tik Tok and all other social media platforms, it is very easy for your academic work to suffer. As parents spend lots of time on the same platforms, communication in families breaks down and before you know it, family members are living as strangers under the same roof. As the saying goes, “too much of anything is always bad”” (Museveni, 06.09.2021).
She is right that to much of anything is bad, the same goes to Social Media usage. That me and Janet agrees on. However, the new generation is used to be bombarded with information from several of sources at the same time. Youth are used to having radio, social media and the books in the dorm at the same time. Some have to read in silence to study, but everyone isn’t the automatic book-smart and follows the programme. That’s why students study differently. Social media should never be a wedge between families either, but if it is… then there is usually something underneath that was amplified by the social media. That’s how I see it and then the person or family member should seek guidance somewhere. Not just stop using time on social media in itself.
Academic work can suffer from everything. From noisy neighbours, friends wanting you to join social gatherings and other social pressure as a student. Social media only shows it and makes it public, if so… and should open the students mind to do the right thing. However, a university student on a grant or little subsidizes doesn’t have the funds to be constantly online. Especially, not with the taxes and the costs that comes with it. Unless, the student has “blessers” or “sponsors” to cover the bill.
The Pastor continues: “Time is one of the greatest resources God has given to us, to waste time is to waste your life. Apostle Paul cautions us in Ephesians chapter 5, verse 15 that, “Pay careful attention to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil”” (Museveni, 06.09.2021).
It is ironic that she speaks of wasting time and how your are wasting life. When she is the wife of the President for Life who has little to no achievements to prove of after years in office. The husband of the Pastor hasn’t delivered what he promised when he came in and still delivers the same suffering, which was rampant during previous regimes. Therefore, she shouldn’t throw stones in a glass-house or the State House for that matter.
Janet should teach this lesson to her husband Yoweri before she speaks of this again. Because, its distasteful that she does this in 2021 after her husband being in-charge since 1986. That says it all. The ones she is lecturing was most likely not even born or thought of when her husband took power. He could have left a legacy of achievements and policies to study for eternity. Nevertheless, the greed and will to oppress have depleted this. That is something the Pastor should repent and confess about herself.
She continues with calling it a “sin”, that you need “discipline” and put a “set time”. The sinner and sinful part is weird. Just like Social Media only is foolish and a waste. Not that it has a possibility to broaden perspective or get new inspiration from either people you know or people far-far away. The discipline and set time is to be anticipated. However, plenty cannot afford to be constant online with the pricing and discipline only matters pocket-wise. Only the little elite and lower middle-class has ability to be online 24/7 but that is not for everyone. So, this lessons are a waste in itself.
Janet should fix the problems of the Ministry instead of writing pointless lectures like these. The Pastor should become a minister in a church and retire from government. Especially, when she writes stuff like this on the regular now. Peace.

It’s been a while since the Independent Editor and Magazine owner Andrew Mwenda has written a “Last Word” and on the 5th September 2021 he released another edition in this series called “To Whom It May Concern”. Fittingly I feel the need to respond to this.
In the starting paragraph, he really sets the tone for the article: “section of the Ugandan talking heads have made a fetish of “credibility”, particularly the sort of “credibility” purchased by denouncing President Yoweri Museveni as a murderous tyrant who has destroyed Uganda. To preserve such “credibility”, opposition leaders like Dr. Kizza Besigye and now Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine), take very extreme positions that make it difficult for them to grow their political appeal beyond a significant and loud but, numerically, a minority of opposition activists” (Mwenda, 05.09.2021).
Well, where do I begin. It is just like Mwenda doesn’t want to go to the heart or the cause of the problem. Only reflect on the opposition and deflect from the creator of the current affairs. That’s because his carrying the water of his master and wants to salvage his legacy. Therefore, he demeans and distort the pleas and the causes of the opposition. Calling it a minority and saying it has lack of appeal. While there is no dancing in the streets or jubilation for the lifelong Presidency of Museveni.
First: “It should therefore be obvious that if any politician wants to command a political majority, they need to build a supra partisan base who appeal is trans-group. I think this has been Museveni’s greatest strength. He appreciates that you cannot seek any form of purity in a diverse country in Uganda and succeed. He has, therefore, made himself flexible and adaptable. He does not demand purity – whether of ethnic, religious, ideological or policy nature. Instead, he is willing to work with anyone even when they don’t agree on many things” (Mwenda, 05.09.2021).
It is just like we don’t know the man he speaks of or what he has done in office. Yes, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) is across the Republic and has members from everywhere. However, the base and the ones in-charge are from one tribe and one ethnic group. That’s why the President has his family all close-knit and a kitchen cabinet, which rules beyond the powers of the offices in government. We are just supposed to forget that and think, because the NRM has a representative from Karamoja. That it is a national party and for everyone. This is just a place and a façade… not the mere reality as the NRM CEC and anyone with power comes from one area. If they differ with him or his ideals, which is changing after what is profitable can easily be expelled or lose their offices. That has happened to, everyone is supposed to follow the “correct line”.
Second: “For someone interested in influencing public policy, whether through mass media or private meetings, there is more to be achieved engaging Museveni than in denouncing him. In my engagements with him I have been impressed by how open-minded Museveni is; he is always willing to listen and to take advice; especially when backed by facts and based on sound research” (Mwenda, 05.09.2021).
When the personification of the state is supreme it all has to go through one man. In this instance, it just happens to be Museveni. That is the only truth Mwenda spills here. However, for the only man with a vision and self-serving individual like Museveni will not change his mind. It is only changed when he sees no benefit or profit out of the policy or order. Therefore, believing in sitting with him and discussing will bear fruits are naïve. It is like thinking you can sway a stubborn and self-righteous man. Well, that won’t happen and it’s a delusion. If you work with Museveni, you are willing to compromise and play into his games. Then there is no difference between you and the other foes his connected too. That is where Mwenda is wrong.
Third: “I believe that Museveni, like many of his contemporaries in Africa, is genuinely committed to transforming Uganda, just like Besigye and Bobi Wine are genuinely committed to liberating it. For Museveni to achieve his goal, he needs power – he cannot transform Uganda when he has been overthrown (and therefore in jail or exile) or been defeated in an election (and therefore in Rwakitura grazing cows). However, retaining power involves navigating a treacherous terrain of coup plots, internal intrigues, making compromises and giving concessions; especially in an ethnically diverse society, that often undermine the pace at which leaders can realise their goals” (Mwenda, 05.09.2021).
If Museveni would “transform” Uganda that would have happened ages ago. There is no reason to believe that now. He is not interested and not serving even the ideals of his 10-point programme. Yet along any of the other fancy development programmes he has unleashed on the general public over the years. These are just cannon-fodders to the UN organizations and multi-national development organizations to find ways to get grants and donations.
Yes, nobody can “transform” anything when they are overthrown. That is a bargain that Museveni has asked for, since he doesn’t believe anyone else can run the Republic. He has retained power, but not built structures or institutions worthy of their names. It is all a reflection of his hackwork and lack of statesmanship. Museveni rather spoil and grind every dime out of a project, than build something sustainable. If he wasn’t the personification of the state… he wouldn’t worry about treason or compromise. Because, all politics and politicking are to one extent compromise between two parties seeking their objective goals. Alas, Museveni rather destroy the other party, than working with them, unless he has corrupted them.
Fourth: “Neither Besigye nor Bobi Wine is a radical extremist by character. But to keep their base happy they have to act as radical extremists; using language uncharacteristic of them. They are strategic radical extremists” (Mwenda, 05.09.2021).
He has called both People Power/National Unity Platform (NUP) and the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) all sorts of name. Andrew has called the supporters extremists, hoodlums and other derogatory names. That’s why this is no shocker at this point. Just a mere reflection of Mwenda is. Because, he cannot understand the activists, members and whatnot who wants to end the Museveni era. They are “militant” and maybe willing to use defiance as a means to an end. Since, Museveni and his regime gives no way to other ways of a peaceful transition. Not, like the NRM or Museveni has offered any other way out or bargained to secure the future. No, his just lingering in power by the gun, using the authorities and even killing the opposition, if he has the opportunity too. And Mwenda wonder why people get “radical” or get organized in various of ways. Museveni is lucky that his opposition haven’t started their own bush-wars, because they have had the same reasons to retort, in the same fashion as Museveni did in the early 1980s. Not that I want that, but Mwenda is surely not selling his point. With the knowledge of the system, the militarization of politics and the usage of arms to bend the will for one man.
He ends with: “I am not willing to purchase “credibility” by mutilating myself. Besigye and/or Bobi Wine can afford to because the price of self-mutilation is the presidency. So, to the many people that write to me or about me almost demanding that I become a spokesperson of their grievances, with the hidden blackmail that I have changed, and therefore not what they knew, here is my message: I do not want to be anyone else’s version of Andrew Mwenda. I want to be Andrew Mwenda’s version of Andrew Mwenda” (Mwenda, 05.09.2021).
It is funny and tragicomically way of ending this article. As he speaks of selling itself for the Presidency. While Mwenda is trading his own name and reputation to safeguard the current status quo. He rather defends the tyrant and the tyranny, than oppose the oppression. Mwenda calling them “sell-outs” for the Presidency. Because, they dare challenge the man who charges, kidnaps, detains, attacks with weapons and even kill their supporters.
We know Mwenda changed, alas he will not resemble the man who was a speaking fire at the KFM Radio days. Maybe, that was just a front and he was faking it. If that is true, then a sorry excuse of a man. More than just trading off his career to be a spokesperson for this presidency. His just a “finessed” OO and that’s not a good look by the way. Well, we can never know, but what we do know. Is what he has said and done over the years. That is already been published and therefore recorded too. Therefore, he can never save or return to the promise, which his career looked like in the past.
That’s why he must undermine and mock the opposition. These folks still have some resemble of hope, which he doesn’t have. They can speak the truth and be blunt about it. While Mwenda got to trade carefully and mind his manners. Because, he can never challenge the Throne again. Peace.

“Honourable Members, let’s keep our eyes on the ball. The ball is this country and its people. The ball is not the regime. A focus on the regime is a narrow and a wrong focus. Put your focus and interests on the people who elected you to Parliament rather than on trivial issues like regime change” – Speaker Jacob Oulanyah (27.08.2021).
It is easy being a token soldier, being a loyal cadre and running up the ranks in the established system underneath the high above. That’s why you don’t have to be bright or smart. You just have to show-up and follow the commands. The orders are straight, unforgiving and you just have to enact it. That’s Oulanyah has risen to prominence and gotten to this stage. Not because his a wise-guy, street-smart or has any worthwhile skills. No, his just a pawn and a useful loyalist for now.
Speak Oulanyah should know all that, but he rather speak of hubris to the opposition. Mock them even and play around like it was a fair competition in the recent election. When everyone know the game was rigged. The whole system was controlled and there was not other objective. Than the Movement and the President to get the majority. Either by the hook or by the crook. The winner took it all and left breadcrumbs to the dissidents. This election was rigged and done systematically. So, Oulanyah should know this when he addresses people, but it seems like he doesn’t know that.
That’s why it’s striking when he says the focus isn’t on the regime. Like the Opposition isn’t there to keep the state alert and question their moves. That is what they are doing for the betterment of the republic. The opposition is there to check and balance. Call out the Movement for their scheming ways, injustice and impunity. They are supposed to call the NRM out for their mischief and grand corruption scandals. They are there to be thorns and spiteful challenges in the public. That’s to show what the government and the Movement should be doing, which it doesn’t… not just be another group of “yes-men” and “praise the lord” anytime the President kisses someone’s asses. That is for the internal Central Executive Committee of the NRM to do by itself.
The speaker further insults our intelligence that we shouldn’t focus or try to think of a peaceful transition. It is only necessary and needed to focus on the future. A future without Museveni and the NRM at the helm. When someone else is the President and His Excellency. That time will come eventually, either if you like it or not. The NRM has already reigned for over 3 decades and this era will end at one point or another.
That’s why the opposition should prepare and plan for a possible takeover. The NRM and Museveni cannot contain that and the will of the people forever. They cannot trick and lie indefinitely. At one point, the last straw and final nail in coffin is put. The treasure-chest is empty and the soldiers are starving. Everything that keeps this regime is gone, as the bank-accounts are empty and donors are not serving aid. There is no more schemes to get-rich-quick or fix some more bottlenecks. No, all of that will go south and there will be no redemption.
That’s why Oulanyah wants this era to last forever. He has the power and the station. The Speaker doesn’t want to loose it. Now that he got it and with someone else in power. He wouldn’t be as useful or have any value to them. He would just be a loyal cadre to godforsaken cause, which should have buried a long time ago. However, it has been persistent and never ending. That’s why we are here in the first place.
Oulanyah can call it trivial to ask for regime change. However, if it was so… why was newspapers closed and ceased over “Project Muhoozi” and why is it dangerous to utter out words of Post-Museveni? Why is it bad to have ambition and seek the place of H.E.? If it is trivial?
Also, to end this on a high note. Why was it needed to change the Constitution twice for one to rule? Why did the Parliament need to first abolish term limits before later stage abolish the age limit? If it is trivial. Shouldn’t the law or the constitution been intact?
That’s what bugging me… when men of his rank and stature calls it trivial. He should look into himself and his own role in all of that. The Movement has made this bed and they got to sleep in it. However, the opposition is within rights and should do their bidding. The opposition needs to keep account and question the NRM. The opposition needs to plan for a peaceful transition and work to topple this regime. That is if they are an honest opposition and wanting to end the dictatorship.
Oulanyah doesn’t want to hear any of that. That’s to be expected, because the end of the tyranny and regime would mean the end of his meal-ticket. The Speaker cannot risk that and rather want a mediocre and lacking opposition. Which he don’t have to fear or have issues with. This is why he speaks like this. However, the opposition has to enforce and be on the barricades to make life a living hell for the Speaker and his tribe. That is their duty and their role as opposition.
Hope they will act upon this and show their character in the 11th Parliament. Time will tell, but Oulanyah hope he can get a forgetful group of MPs and get an easy ride in office. Peace.

“Yes, it is a brand new week! May the Good Lord shine His face upon all of you and give you Peace” (Janet Museveni, 23.08.2021).
This person, Janet Museveni wouldn’t be relevant or have a career like she has, if it wasn’t for being the first lady of the Republic and being appointed by her husband, the President for a Ministry. She is the Minister for Education and Sports but sounds more like a Pentecostal preacher.
In her recent post on “social media dialogue” it is a scripture reading and something that is fitting of a church and not of a minister. This text would have been perfect in the context of a church and a ministry. If she worked for one of them Western inspired Pentecostal churches across Kampala. She would have blended in and they would all answer “Praise God” and “Amen” after dropping this text.
However, for a minister and such… it is just weird and out of place. A minister and a head of state can have whatever religion they see fit as their own. They can believe and be spiritual, live after their own conscience and belief. Nevertheless, this is just hopeless…
She reiterates: “That tithe then goes to your local church where you worship. The church of God will thrive and prosper, because if all the people who make up your local church, tithe, then the church will not be poor. The church then will take care of all the church leadership and also the orphans in the Parish near the Church. Consequently, the suffering of poverty and hunger will be taken care of and God will get all the honour and glory” (Janet Museveni, 23.08.2021).
This here is sounding like a preacher and a pastor. Pastor “Mama” Janet is at your service and waiting for her sermon. Where she will profoundly speak of giving to the church and how it benefits society. Surely all the pastorpreneurs of the Republic will be feeling Godly at this moment. That the Minister and First Lady speaks of these resounding words. As she speaks so softly and kind about giving 10 percent of your earnings to the local church. They surely hope this blessing will come upon them.
She further states: “Giving to God also includes offering in Church, many people when they go to Church and it is time for offertory, sometimes they walk out or they search in their bags to get the very least money to give to God, as if God is a beggar, instead of realizing that this is an opportunity to offer God something, because God gives you everything you have and could give you a lot more, you refuse to show Him any gratitude and He also lives you alone. So in essence, you close the only door for your blessing” (Janet Museveni, 23.08.2021).
This here would make any pastor and especially prosperity preachers excited. They are just waiting for scriptures and tales like these. They are just saying your wealth and abundantly so, after the amount you gives. This is just the sort of spiritual guidance TV-Pastors are doing and been outbidding each other as well. Pastor Janet is a on a roll here.
She ends with: “Therefore, for now, try Him by starting to tithe from the little you have and you will be surprised to see how what you have can grow and you find all your needs are covered and instead of asking others for help, you try now to be the one to give to others or at least share what you have. You will see the blessings of God multiply as you grow steadily in giving those who have less than you have and also to your place of worship” (Janet Museveni, 23.08.2021).
It is just such a show of the First Lady and Minister. The Preacher and Pastor is going all overboard here. It is not end in sight and whatever ministry she’s part of on the regular must clearly have done wonders. Since she sounds ready for the role of a pastor and a preacher.
Janet should resign from Government, as she is ready to work for the Lord Almighty. She should beg for forgiveness for the all the pain and suffering her partner has done. Janet should ask God for forgiveness for all the money and government funds she has misused and earned fortunes on. The preacher should testify and be vocal, repent her ways and ask God for mercy. Since, she wants to badly to become a saint and a follower of God.
That is what is missing from Pastor Janet, “mama” Janet better be careful. She should repent and atone for her sins. Which she has been conniving and using her titles for her own good. Janet needs to answer for this and so should her husband too. They need to answer for God and beg for mercy. Peace.

“Last week, Mr. Museveni met with NRM MPs at Kololo and asked them to support distribution of one trillion shillings to the population. Cash distribution centres are going to be set up at parish levels. This is what Museveni has termed as Parish Model” (Forum for Democratic Change, 23.08.2021).
The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) in their weekly media brief on this very day the 23rd August 2021. The FDC has stated a mere fact, which should be resound wide and clear. The party have understood and is speaking facts, which deserves to be credited. Since, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and all their benefactors will only praise this commitment to the Parish Model of Micro-Finance Programme.
The FDC states this: “Each parish regardless of the population and economic activity will receive equal amount when the promised trillion is provided. For example Kireka in Kira Municipality with 200,000 people will be given Shs 100 million each financial year. According to National Bureau of Statistics, a parish in Uganda is 800 people. The FDC would like to warn NRM MPs and Parliament in general against risking taxpayers’ money again in unplanned ventures. The country has not recovered from Emyoga fraud which Museveni entrusted with his RDCs. Parliament budgeted for Shs 250 billion for Emyoga and this money cannot be accounted for. Its effect on the population is not there” (Forum for Democratic Change, 23.08.2021).
This here is a very vital information and says it all about the scheme itself. As there is already a lack of accountability for the former or latter, which was the Emyoga. There been plenty of scandals and lack of transparency in the efforts of the state. This is not new or significant in this matter but says a lot about the will to start new projects. Before you have ended or shown any proof of where the other funds went. That just shows how these sorts of enterprises are schemes and not real legit programmes for the people to get help or be entertained at all. Just a matter of fancy accounting and finding measures to get rich behind the scenes.
About Salim they say:
“At Kololo the same Museveni who has been praising Operation Wealth Creation led by his brother Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho, said it has not benefited the population. In fact, if you read Minister Matia Kasaija statement to Parliament delivered in April this year, government wants Operation Wealth Creation phased out. Kasaija proposed that Shs 200 billion meant for OWC be diverted to finance Emyoga” (Forum for Democratic Change, 23.08.2021).
We know that is something is up here… when the Parliament Report on OWC says the program haven’t delivered or not even up to standard even. The OWC is a sham and a front, making Gen. Salim Selah, the brother of the President wealthy and have his own “detail” within the government and under the office of the Prime Minister (OPM). That is just a mere fact and the FDC doesn’t shun away from that.
It is just striking that more people haven’t questioned this and the use of public funds this way. When there is no proof of the other schemes are working. Just like all these years with all the seemingly similar schemes but it never amounts to anything. Only benefiting a few chosen few and nobody else. That is how it looks like and with the Parish Model the same results will appear with time. This is something I can reassure you and only a little elite will eat of this plate.
That’s why the President promotes it and he know the game. Because, this is a game he has played since the beginning of his reign. Plotting and scheming to get ahead, while hoping that other people are coving the bills. Peace.

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) is very forgiving to their own crooks. The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) and Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda office was in-charge of the procurement for relief food during the first lockdown in 2020 for the urban areas.
What is striking is that the officials secured deals, which ended in a loss of USD $528,000 in inflated in the prices of food. The ones implicated and arrested for these schemes was the Permanent Secretary Christine Guwatudde Kintu, accounting officer Joel Wanjala, assistant procurement commissioner Fred Lutimba and Martin Owor, the head of COVID-19 relief management.
Today, the Director of Public Prosecution has discontinued the case against them. Even when it is evident they acted fraudulent and massively public wastage of funds. The OPM Food Relief last year was a giant scheme of embezzlement and misuse of office. That’s why there was no tenders and no procurement protocol for in the food relief. It was all brotherly conduct and already using connects. That was the initial drive and this is why they inflated the prices on it.
This is why we know the state isn’t interested in fighting corruption or graft, when people like these are off the hook. The state is not going against the OPM and the ones involved. In the end… and they are able to walk.
That is the story here… and that should what the world needs to know. This isn’t the first or the last time people who is connected gets away from scandals. There been several who been in office and high ranking officials who can steal, embezzle and grand corruption. Still, they can walk to the Parliament, State House and now in the OPM without any consequences. The ones charged and detained on corruption is small-fishes. That’s why the ones sentenced in the Courts is teachers and headmasters eating of funds for ghost-workers and students.
The DPP is now giving way and letting them off the hook. The NRM has done this to others and this is Modus Operandi (M.O) by now. The President and the ones who is in the inner-circle can get away with murder and we know this. It just happened to be with COVID-19 Funds and Relief Food. The OPM wasn’t long time ago inflate refugee numbers to get more donor funds. Therefore, this is what they do to eat and does it deliberately. Therefore, the OPM needs to scheme to run it’s operation.
This isn’t shocking, but it’s a part of a pattern. Peace.

“The NRM has never thrown stones. Those who faced our fire were those defending illegitimate interests like dictators and those denying the people free and fair elections like NUP which is an attempt to resurrect Kabaka Yekka or the likes of Amin” – Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (14.08.2021).
I just had to dwell into this, as the National Address of 14th August 2021 needs to be debunked for the second time. As there was so many lies and deceptions in that speech. This one got out of bound, but still needs to be addressed. Since the old man with the hat is trying to use the lack of historical context to breach the difference between Kabaka Yekka (“The King Only”) only party, which was a Buganda Kingdom based. While the National Unity Platform party is a national party and has members across the spectrum of the Republic.
The NUP might have a majority of their leaders, MPs and such from the Buganda Kingdom. However, that is only because of the lack of time to register candidates, build party organization and the blockade of organizing political meetings or consultations across the up-country. That’s why the NUP has a bigger structure and party in Greater Kampala and within “Central Region” or Buganda. That is just mere luck and because the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and other parties have another presence in the North, East and the West, than the NUP has at this current moment.
However, that doesn’t make the party an Baganda factor. That is just out of necessity and where they have been able to build their party and generate results. This is not because it is like KY and being for the purpose of supporting only the Buganda kingdom.
Here is the vital information about KY:
“The party was formed in Buganda in 1961. Its main objective was the preservation of the institution of Kabakaship and the “independence” of the Kingdom. The Baganda had for a long time respected the throne. Although with the advent of colonialism the symbol of Buganda’s unity had been weakened, the Kabaka still had a big following in the Kingdom. The monarchists feared that in times of political transition, traditional institutions would be destroyed. Therefore, to safeguard the institution in Buganda, a movement had to be formed and that was the Kabaka Yekka” (…) “The actual formation of K.Y. was done by merging two organizations — “Banabulezi” [the people of Bulemezi] and the “Abana Ba Abaami” [chiefs’ sons]. The former had been formed after the banning of the Uganda National Movement. Its aim was to inspire the people of Bulemezi with the love of Kabaka and their country [Buganda]. The latter was formed basically to foster the position of the chiefs and their sons in Buganda. The two organizations could easily merge because they had similar objectives — both could achieve their aims by safeguarding the Kabakaship. Hence, it was thought that the name “Kabaka Yekka” would create a sense of unity and common purpose in Buganda. The objectives and composition of the party were stumbling blocks on the road to national unity” (Ogena Otunnu – ‘THE HISTORY OF POLITICAL CRISIS IN UGANDA: THE LEGACY FACING THE MUSEVENI REGIME 1986 TO THE PRESENT P:18-20, 26.07.1989).
So, when you read that in comparison to the NUP Manifesto, the ideals are in stark contrast and shows the mentality difference between the parties, which is vastly different than what Museveni claims in his address. That is the clear indication of his lie.
National Unity Platform Manifesto 2021:
“The National Unity Platform grew out of the People Power movement. The movement was formed to spearhead the first ever inclusive, non-violent transition of political power in Uganda. Our vision of Uganda is a dignified people thriving under an inclusive constitutional democracy. We seek a transition from the 35-year long dictatorial regime to a people’s choice government through free and fair elections. We are compelled by Article 1 of the Constitution of Uganda 1995, which grants all power to the people of Uganda. Our aim is to guarantee respect for the constitution. Our accountable leadership has been built from the grassroots to the national level. We shall continue to be strictly governed by the rule of law and universal standards of social justice, in order to ensure individual human dignity, national unity, and true equal opportunity for every Ugandan” (National Unity Platform – ‘Manifesto 2021-26).
We are seeing here it isn’t to resurrect an kingdom or preserve that alone. No, the NUP is for EVERY UGANDAN. That means not only the Buganda, but Bunyoro, Teso, Itesot, Ankole or anyone else. This is the easiest way to debunk this.
The KY was to preserve and pursuit the nationalistic aims of one ethnic group and save that Kingdom. However, the NUP is to fulfil a peaceful transition from a dictatorship. To continue the work of the People Power Movement and build an inclusive democracy. This means, the NUP aims and ambitions are not in accordance with the KY. The KY is a “single” mission party, while the NUP has a broader end-game and a total restructuring of the Republic. That’s why it’s hard to see similarities, but that is only tell sell a deluded story. In such a manner, that he thinks people will not see the difference between the KY and the NUP. Which is no where close.
That is why the President had to shoot and kill in Arua. Because Bobi Wine and NUP is a national party, but they have not the machinery or the ability as the NRM: Just like the UPM didn’t have the ability or structures to compete with ruling party UPC in 1980. That’s the reality here and Museveni should know this, but he rather vilify his enemies. Instead of speaking of the truth and what is the real deal. Peace.
