Opinion: This Ebola spread is getting ugly…

“The ministry of health has revealed that six school-going children in three schools in Rubaga division in Kampala have tested positive for Ebola” (NTV Uganda, 26.10.2022).

“The Ministry of Health has cautioned parents and schools in Kampala to increase vigilance and adherence to the standard operating procedures following confirmed cases of Ebola among some students in Rubaga division of Kampala” (NBS Television, 26.10.2022).

“President Museveni has imposed a 21-day lockdown on the central districts of Mubende and Kassanda to contain an Ebola outbreak that has already claimed 19 lives in Uganda. “Movements into and out of Mubende and Kassanda is prohibited,” President Museveni directed in his third quick-succession night televised address on Ebola” (David Vosh Ajuna – ‘Ebola: Museveni puts Mubende, Kassanda under 21-day lockdown’ 15.10.2022, 93.3 KFM Radio).

The lockdown of Mubende and Kassanda districts has clearly not stopped the transmission of the Ebola virus in the Republic. There is now more spread of it in Kampala. Things are getting worse and rapidly a problem, which seems to soon out of control.

This can also be said after not only the news from the Ministry of Health today with further cases in Kampala. However, also the boda-boda driver at Kololo. This shows that the virus is spreading and at a rate, which seems to be spiralling.

With the knowledge we have of Ebola, this is serious. Just read a part of the fact-sheet from the World Health Organization (WHO), which is specific on how Ebola virus is spreading…

“Ebola virus disease (EVD), formerly known as Ebola haemorrhagic fever, is a severe, often fatal illness affecting humans and other primates. The virus is transmitted to people from wild animals (such as fruit bats, porcupines and non-human primates) and then spreads in the human population through direct contact with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected people, and with surfaces and materials (e.g. bedding, clothing) contaminated with these fluids. The average EVD case fatality rate is around 50%. Case fatality rates have varied from 25% to 90% in past outbreaks” (WHO – ‘Fact Sheets: Ebola virus disease’ 23.02.2021).

Now that the Ebola is outside of the lockdown districts and within the Greater Kampala area. Soon we can see or here about cases in Mukono or Wakiso districts too. This is just the beginning of it, as I see it.

When we saw the last address of Museveni. With the newest information and such, more and extensive lockdowns are on the horizon. When the President could announce it for two districts. The news of transmissions in Kampala. We expect a lockdown and new stoppage of ordinary life. Especially, if we see the numbers rise and the amount of people reported with it. Because, this is spreading and evidently it’s not stopped.

When we see the numbers of other outbreaks of Ebola, the fatality rate is huge. So, this is worrying and should be a significant factor in acting swiftly. Peace.

Opinion: Omicron is the bad wolf created by nationalistic vaccine strategies

When you have a global pandemic. You need global solutions to stop it. However, in the case of the COVID-19 pandemic. The big pharmaceutical industries and Western hemisphere have taken most of the vaccines and paid-in-full. In such a way that the global south haven’t been able to buy-in or have ability to vaccinate their own. While state has had stockpiles and additional vaccines, which is more than they could ever use. Therefore, the donations in return have been of the surplus or the close to due-date of usage. Heck, nations have given away the vaccines to COVAX programs, which they will not use on their own citizens, because of the possible side-effects from it. Therefore, the whole new mutations or variants is created, because a lack of care or concern for the global south.

That there is a new type of COVID-19 called the Omicron is a world at large not taking care of it’s citizens. This isn’t the fault of South Africa or Botswana. No, this isn’t the fault of the Lesotho, Eswatini, Malawi or any those in question. They have been barred and not able to do what the European Union, United States of America or Canada even.

These was able to buy huge quantities of vaccines and own the market of it. While only donating away a small fraction of it in the name of charity and such. Which is the reason why plenty of nations are behind on the vaccine levels or ability to vaccinate their populations. This is why transmissions of the COVID-19 continues and creates possibilities for mutations. That’s because there is enough

This type of COVID-19 is another strong mutation like the Delta variant. We are getting into new territory. Where there is now a need for new editions of the COVID-19 Vaccine to fit this one. As the ones we currently having isn’t as effect as it was previously with other COVID-19 mutations. The virus is changing and it’s new strains is making the remedies we have powerless.

This is all happening, because the nationalistic vaccine strategies have been self-centred … and haven’t thought of the global picture. They have now created a new beast to compete with, because you wouldn’t evenly share the vaccines. The vaccines went by the capitalistic ways and not as a collective effort. Which is a failure, as this is only creating new mutations and strains… and we have to compete with another one. It is an endless cycle and we cannot win. Because, we are not playing this smart.

We have been able to vaccinate the Western Hemisphere. They are even considering a third booster doze for most of the populations. While where there is transmissions of Omicron it’s not the same rate or majority who has gotten jabs. This is because of he selfish interests and not considering the bigger picture. That’s why blocking and red-listing the Southern African nations is a cowards way of not taking responsibility. These have found the mutation and shown the world scientifically how it exists. Now, they are punished for doing so, but the “international community” have failed these states as is…

The COVAX Program of the World Health Organizations (WHO) have only patched the hurt and been a tiny charity event on sporadic basis. This haven’t created the levels or sustainability in case of the global pandemic. While the states in the Western Hemisphere have been stockpiling and had additional vaccines for cover. This is the tragic reality there.

That’s why Omicron could become a thing. Because, there was enough transmission and ability for the virus to mutate. This type of COVID-19 is proven to: “Is one for which there is evidence of an increase in transmissibility, more severe disease, significant reduction in neutralization by antibodies generated during previous infection or vaccination” (WHO, 26.11.2021).

This is another edition of the delta virus. Which could have been avoided. However, the world and the rich nations preferred to ditch out the rest. While being honourable by a little charity here and there. Sometimes even dumping the surplus on the global south, because they could. Not because the others asked for it, but that was still better than nothing. Still, this isn’t fair or a just system. It is making the virus a continuous global problem and it’s our fault.

We should have known better, but the greed is taken us all. That is not saving anyone, but causing new mutations down the line. Which in the end means we all have to take precautions for the Omicron. This is a beast and creation, which could have been avoided. If we had a fair global vaccine strategies and shared like gentlemen the medicines we have.

However, that wasn’t the ideal of the big-pharma or the Western Hemisphere. Therefore, it is tragic and unnecessary, but here we are fools in 2021. Looking like we learned nothing and we are repeating the sins of yesterday. Peace.

Opinion: The NRM Shields their own [and the COVID-19 Lockdown scandal of 2020 is now water under the bridge]

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) is very forgiving to their own crooks. The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) and Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda office was in-charge of the procurement for relief food during the first lockdown in 2020 for the urban areas.

What is striking is that the officials secured deals, which ended in a loss of USD $528,000 in inflated in the prices of food. The ones implicated and arrested for these schemes was the Permanent Secretary Christine Guwatudde Kintu, accounting officer Joel Wanjala, assistant procurement commissioner Fred Lutimba and Martin Owor, the head of COVID-19 relief management.

Today, the Director of Public Prosecution has discontinued the case against them. Even when it is evident they acted fraudulent and massively public wastage of funds. The OPM Food Relief last year was a giant scheme of embezzlement and misuse of office. That’s why there was no tenders and no procurement protocol for in the food relief. It was all brotherly conduct and already using connects. That was the initial drive and this is why they inflated the prices on it.

This is why we know the state isn’t interested in fighting corruption or graft, when people like these are off the hook. The state is not going against the OPM and the ones involved. In the end… and they are able to walk.

That is the story here… and that should what the world needs to know. This isn’t the first or the last time people who is connected gets away from scandals. There been several who been in office and high ranking officials who can steal, embezzle and grand corruption. Still, they can walk to the Parliament, State House and now in the OPM without any consequences. The ones charged and detained on corruption is small-fishes. That’s why the ones sentenced in the Courts is teachers and headmasters eating of funds for ghost-workers and students.

The DPP is now giving way and letting them off the hook. The NRM has done this to others and this is Modus Operandi (M.O) by now. The President and the ones who is in the inner-circle can get away with murder and we know this. It just happened to be with COVID-19 Funds and Relief Food. The OPM wasn’t long time ago inflate refugee numbers to get more donor funds. Therefore, this is what they do to eat and does it deliberately. Therefore, the OPM needs to scheme to run it’s operation.

This isn’t shocking, but it’s a part of a pattern. Peace.

Opinion: Trump blaming everyone else for his mismanaged attempt to stem COVID-19

The White House and President Donald J. Trump have now acted the cowardly way of name-calling Dr. Anthony Fauci, the man who has warned and enlighten the public about the dangers of the Novel Coronavirus. Still, the Trump Administration nicknaming him Dr. Doom and Dr. Gloom like a kindergarten move to muffle the outspoken expert.

This pandemic have been an assault on the American public. The response from the Federal Government have been totally bonkers. Reactionary and not with anyone at the steering wheel. It has been dismissive and downplaying the risks. It has played soft-ball with a fatal disease. The President have been golfing more, then he has done legislations or regulations to safeguard lives.

That is why the President is blaming China, World Health Organization and its own expert Dr. Fauci. Because, the President is never to blame, never at fault as the perfect masculinisation of leadership he is. The orange skinned mobster is everyone’s cup of tea and everyone’s nightmare as head of state. No accountability, no transparency and no acknowledgement of utter failure.

A disgrace of a President. A man blaming everyone else. Playing it for a hoax. Saying the democrats made it happen. Speaking vile and racist about its origin. While days later enjoying the tee at his golfing estate. Instead of finding means to help states hard hit by the pandemic or making guidelines to stop the community spread. No, it is more important that the peasants dies so Wall Street can continue to print money. Ensure the billionaires gets wealthier, while the middle American and lower classes are bleeding. Also, to top it off, trying to kick out more people with pre-existing conditions out of medicaid and ensure less people have health insurance in the midst of global pandemic. That is good sport. Just like another round golf, while thousands of people are catching it and people are dying.

On the President’s watch, the US has lost 137,000 people to the disease. This has all been a blood-shed, which the President is responsible. He could have avoided many of these. That is if he wanted more social distancing, longer closure of society and lockdowns. If the President wanted to stop the spread and ensure less people got sick. He would have used the means of the Federal State to guide the Governors and secure the public. Not just donate goods and needed equipment as a gift for the up-coming election. That is what the President has done.

It is the proof of the failure. The ones paying the price isn’t the head himself. No, its the citizens, the public and society at large. He can take Air-Force One and dip through traffic for publicity stunts. While the public have to go to the store, get their necessities and even work while screaming Karens bitching about their birthright not to wear masks. Because, that just a good way to create more worry for the piss-poor employees who are working nine-to-five to pay the bills.

This President doesn’t care. If he did, he would have done something. He would have secured the bag, paid the hush-money and screwed the actress. That is what he does. However, there been no personal gain or need to do so. Unless, the President are gaining something out of it. He doesn’t care about the dead. About the families scorned and torn apart. They are just random casualties.

The President wanted at some point act like a War President against the COVID-19. Be out and speak every night like a campaign rally.. However, that worked as it was 2 hour session of tragic disproportion and disingenuous at best. The lies and deceptions got caught up combined with his vile rhetoric. It was a reason why the spokesperson does it instead. Not that it becomes more true, but a better way of self-defence. The President just made things worse and pushed the unscientific solutions on the public. Like a national hack-job to the whole public to see every night.

Now, the President has turned on Fauci. He has already been aggressive, ceased the membership of WHO and open war with China. Since all of that saves lives… which it doesn’t. It only makes the Americans more alone in the world and have less friends. The US is losing both at home and abroad. They are just pathetic and it starts from the top.

Trump trying to create scapegoats, because he got no clue how to fix this. There is no way to rig this or cheat himself out of this one. No matter what he does now, he will fail. Peace.

Opinion: US is not leading anymore, it’s defeated [Trump ditches WHO]

It’s just 14 days ago since the Trump Administration suspended or halted its funding to the World Health Organization (WHO). That’s was their decision in mid-May or around the 15^th May 2020. Today, on the 29^th May 2020, the United States and its President announced that they are leaving the WHO.

What is really striking is that they are doing this in the midst of global pandemic. They are not doing it in the midst of calm times. The illness is not conquered, there is no known treatment nor cure for it. The COVID-19 or Coronavirus is still on the loose. Especially in the United States. Where a 100,000 citizens has been reported dead because of it and they have about 1,3 million cases of the disease on record. Therefore, the US is hard hit by this, but that’s because of own mismanagement and lack of action early.

The US President is blaming the WHO and China. After praising both in January 2020. However, when the shit started to hit the fan. Than, the President has begun to blame outside parties, because the novelty kid in the White House. Can never be blamed, even when its his fault. That he didn’t listen to warnings and rather play golf. Because playing golf and lying at rallies saves lives.

The US is not the world leader anymore. They are defeatist. That is why all international deals are either suspended or withdrawn from. The diplomatic works of this administration is shambles. The affairs with North Korea has ended in tears. The problems with Iran only became worse with the withdrawal from the agreement there. The Iraqi leadership and people want the US Forces out. In the Philippines the government wants to end its military agreement too. Therefore, the US loosing on all fronts.

The US is marginalizing itself and making itself less relevant. They might think they are great, but they are soon left the party. They can drink their Bud Lights, what Super-Bowl and fuck-off. Because, your not participating and if you do. You do it for selfish interests to put puppets and friendly dictators in Latin America. That is what this US administration does and they do it for cause of some industry, usually too. Since, this administration doesn’t conceal the interests they have.

If not, its making trade-wars, empty promises to allies like United Kingdom and so fourth. It is the way this government plays. Instead of acting as a responsible and diplomatic partner. It is instead using all means to conquer. That is not how it works.

Now, the President blames all on China and WHO. That is why he ditches the organization and puts all blame on Chinese government. This is because, he cannot handle or figure out the reasons for why it hit the US so bad. Since, he cannot stomach or see, that his at fault and didn’t do his job. But its easier to pin the WHO.

This shows the lack of leadership. Instead of somebody at the wheel, he blames the wheels, the road and the birds in the sky. Not the driver, even if there is nothing at fault with the car nor the road. The car-crash is eminent, because the driver doesn’t follow the road nor rules. His nearly sleeping at the wheel. The driver is hoping “Jesus is taking the Wheel”, but that will not help here.

Trump and US administration is now dismantling their role in their world. By every single day their relevance gets smaller. That’s because the US is shifting or ditching their part.

When the US does this, the WHO should consider their role in the cure or vaccine for COVID-19. How they should co-operate with the US or even ditch that all together. Since, the US can swim in this sea alone. Now, that the US doesn’t want to work with WHO, they should not expect “Christmas gifts”. Since they are not participating or contributing to the solidarity projects of the world.

The US isn’t leading anymore, its just leaving. Piece by piece, its time to move-on, shall we? Peace.

Burundi: Expelled [Person Non Grata] a Team of Experts from WHO!

Well, this is apparently happening, as of today. There been released a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed to the World Health Organization offices in Brazzaville, in the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville). Where one of the experts came from, this being Dr. Walter Kazindi Mulumbo.

The are three more experts and doctors who was banished or “person non grata” from its territory. These are Dr. Daniel Tarzy, Dr. Ruhana Mirindi Bisimbwa, and Dr. Jean Pierre Mulunda Nkata. All of these is stated to be from the Democratic Republic of Congo or part of the United Nations Mission in Congo (MONUSCO). However, I don’t have that verified. What matters is that these doctors and experts has to flee the Republic and in haste. They are not welcomed, even if they are coming there to give advice and help the authorities to deal with the COVID-19 Pandemic. 

What is clearly stated by the letter is that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says their final day in the Republic is 15^th May 2020. They received the letter on the 12rth May 2020. The International Airport in Bujumbura is temporary closed for international flights because of COVID-19. The reason why the team came in the first place.

Therefore, this is very peculiar, but not shocking. In a state where civil society has been battled, where political affiliation is life or death. In a state where the ruling regime rules with an iron fist. In this reality, the eviction of a few people doesn’t hurt much. Even in the midst of a pandemic. Where the Republic releases very little information nor does anything really about it. They are in campaign mode and into getting the successor on the throne at any cost.

That CNDD-FDD and Nkurunziza would do this isn’t shocking. It shouldn’t be. This is the Modus Operandi. This is what they do. They just do it sort of diplomatically and gives you a proper send-off. Take a hike Mike and find a bike or something to cross into Rwanda, Democratic Republic or something. Hitch-hike from Bujumbura to the borders and hope your lucky to pass across.

That is how it seems. Because, it is not like the state has a lockdown, has curfew or social distancing. They are parading in the streets and holding rallies. They are going from town to town paint it ready for the polls on the 20^th May 2020.

That is why the state doesn’t need a WHO Report on their indifference to COVID-19 or the Coronavirus. They don’t need foreigners to questions their actions, their inactions or anything. They just need to move. That is the initial message. This is the same republic that has stopped Election Observers in the same time-frame and made it impossible have foreign observer teams to oversee the polls. Therefore, sending these home fits like a glove.

Burundi wants to be a pariah-a state, it is like its a prize and that they long to have the title. Be the Grand Dictatorship of East Africa. Be the beacon of totalitarian efforts and wants to be in the same league as North Korea. That is the dream, that’s why it wants to make things bloody and ensure total destruction of oversight. Nobody is supposed to see anything anyway. Except if your high ranking official in the CNDD-FDD, than your authorized to do everything in your power.

Well, so a WHO TEAM became “Person Non Grata” in the midst of the Global Pandemic. We know we live in a stupid timeline. When this is a thing, but so is our leaders too. Since, they lack common sense to implement proper conditions to stop the spread. Instead, they play ignorant, hoping it will just go away. Peace.

Getafix of Madagascar Part III: The origin of the cure doesn’t matter, as long as it’s clinically tested and proven!

“If it wasn’t Madagascar, and if it was a European country that had actually discovered this remedy, would there be so much doubt? I don’t think so, African scientists… should not be underestimated. I think the problem is that (the drink) comes from Africa and they can’t admit… that a country like Madagascar… has come up with this formula to save the world” – President Andry Rajoelina (In an interview to French Media on the 11th of May.2020).

As I ended the last piece of this, the President of Madagascar got a bridge to sell. This is apparently his pride and joy. Maybe, the saving grace of this term in office. I don’t know, but what I do know. Is that the CVO – Tambvy or COVID-19 Herbal Tea made with stevia and artemesia annua hasn’t been clinically tested, neither proven its benefits in concern to the COVID-19 or Coronavirus.

Not that plants or algae and other medicinal plants isn’t used in modern industry. Most of them are extracted from plants, formulated and tested before unleashed on the market. To ensure the safety, the amount of extracts and compounds within the plant before creating a medicine out of it.

This not me saying it, its The National Academy of Medicine of Madagascar (ANAMEM), who in the end of April 2020 stated this: “ it is a medicine for which the scientific evidence has not yet been established”. So with that in mind combined with the knowledge of where the scientific testing of annua and stevia been tested. It is clear the President is selling a dream.

If the CVO – Tambvy was clinically, scientifically tested and proven, where all factors was checked and had results. I would have no trouble to celebrate and be happy we had a fix. We had a remedy and a saving grace in the time of need. However, when you put something to market, selling it on the ideal of Pan-Africanism and using colonial stereotypes. When your addressing the likes of me. I don’t care where a remedy, medicine or the origin of it. As long as it heals and its done properly. That is all I am asking for, that the ones who has this as a field and expertise can look into the herbal mixture and deem if it as fit. See if it generate the results and has an effect. Not only pushed out on the market on a whim.

Because, pushing this sort of thing without it. Is just snake-oil salesmen tactic. This is the sort of selling a dream, which could easily turn into nightmare. When people are drinking it and it doesn’t help. What will the President and the Producers say? That is the risk of doing this.

I wish and hope we find a cure. That there are a proved and tested vaccine, cure or remedy against COVID-19 or the Coronavirus. However, selling this now and using this rhetoric only proves how unproven it is. Instead of doing the tests, showing the results and then offering to the market. Instead, the ANAMEM are asking for evidence. That should be a sign on the sky. This is not said by Europeans, but the scientific community of Madagascar.

So, my take is, I take a remedy from wherever, made with whatever, as long as it heals and has proven results. We don’t need to take chances and risk lives, selling the placebo effect and hoping someone has the daft luck of getting saved. The President should consider this, but he got a bridge to sell. Peace.
