The Police continue to chase after Besigye and it doesn’t seem to stop!

I don’t know how many cases pending on the former Presidential Candidate and former President of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC). Neither the amount of time spent in jail, arrested, detained or even charged with various of crimes. If it wasn’t for him being a mere politician. I would be thinking this man was the biggest criminal gracing planet earth. Because this man has been taken into custody, preventative arrested, house-arrested, ambushed and taken from whenever at whatever time. This man has gotten the full brutal meeting with the police. He has had his doze of tear-gas, shattered car-glass, broken bones and air-lifted between Prisons. Sadly, enough all of this is to easily to remember. Just the amount that is impossible. Because the state has been relentless and ruthless against this man.

Dr. Kizza Besigye has gone through for the cause. Today, or Yesterday, one of his car was finally allowed to leave the Compound of Kasangati Police Station. A place where he spent plenty of hours, also in Mukono Police Station and Old Jinja Road Police Station. This man has been put in plenty of jails and cells, over the years. That because of his fight against the dictatorship and the NRM. Which has viciously gone against him.

Now, it is evident that one of his cars are returned after being four years on the compound of the Police Station. In the same town and not far from his farm. It was not like it was left in Lira to rot or in Kabale. No, it was stationed in Kasangati, Wakiso District for four years on a pending case. That got dropped. Just like plenty of other forged and malicious cases pinned on the man.

They have charged him are only missing charging the political operative with jaywalking, trespassing and kissing the wrong bride. Since they have really charged him with everything at every single time. They have taken away his aides, they have brutally assaulted his drivers and they have arrested the activists around him. At some point made the political party “illegal” and also stopped all internal works of the party. Which they are doing to this day, to the new Party President Patrick Amuriat Oboi, who cannot function or meet leaders of others districts without being blocked by the Police.

The same police and DPP who is now giving back former evidence and impounded car after 4 years. After they have nearly destroyed another car and even installed monitoring equipment on to surveillance the man in 2016. They are really showing their true character. They just kept it for so long, just to insult the man and show their power. Not because of rule of law. No, this was a display of confidence and that they can take away things.

That they have done to him all the time. He has even struggled to go to the bank to deposit and check his balance. There isn’t anything the state hasn’t done, which haven’t been petty and vindictive concerning this man.

They have never left the man alone, as example of the costs it is to challenge the tyranny of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. If you don’t follow you end up in Nalufenya or SIU Kireka or anywhere else he can detain you. With the only reason, being your standing up him and his rule.

The Prime example is Besigye. That is the truth. Peace.

Opinion: The National Dialogue is a stalling tactic by the President!

No man is crushed by misfortune unless he has first been deceived by prosperity”Seneca, Dialogues and Letters

I don’t believe that the National Dialogue, which is about to start in November 2018 and Roadmap made by the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda will amount to anything. It will be a lot about nothing. It will be like a Seinfeld episode, lots of simple fun and punchlines, but nothing substantial for the body or the spirit.

This is not something that will upheld or even be honored by the President. Because he has never honored a deal, where he has to loose something or even give way. The President are always finding his way to get the upper-hand and will do so again. To think otherwise is to think that the Old Man with the Hat has changed. Trust me, all the acts of late, shows that he is more ruthless and shows more force. Because he knows he isn’t loved or cared about in the general population. The empty pledges and promises of old is haunting him and the lack of progress on nearly every account is another reason for his total failure. That is because the President is busy micro-managing and not trusting in the appointed cronies even.

I know I should have had hope for such an arrangement, but the acts of the National Resistance Movement, the usage of the Security Organizations against the citizens, the representatives and the ones standing in their way of late. Shows the dire need of a change, but they do this to intimidate and control. That is why Bobi Wine isn’t even able to launch his album in the National Stadium. At the same period, as the ones standing in the way of the President are awaiting court cases and charged with treason. That is a reason why I don’t believe in it. Because, there are not acts by the NRM that are opening for opposition or even trying. They are even blocking the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) President Patrick Amuriat Oboi from operating and meeting internal-party forums. How can this government be real about having dialogue, when others cannot operate without meeting the police or other security outfits?

I wish I could be hopeful, as the dire need is there, but from the one who said he wanted to destroy the opposition and crash it after the last General Election of 2016. That President is most likely doing it to teach the opposition a lesson, not being there to give way or even give the public a hand. Because the old man want to control everything, every legislation and be the fountain of honor. At all costs and be celebrated, even when he is killing innocent people and making up stories, where the hoodlums are the problem.

That is the man that supposed to negotiate with, a war-lord with all power and his orders from above can be fatal to others. He has no trouble using Luweero methods, using bush-war tactics and to use the National Dialogue for that, would be stalling and securing who was the heads. What their needs are and find ways to consolidate them. In such a way, that they need him and not really talk. This is the man that haven’t the ability to find a successor for 32 years and always excused he has more things to finish before he leaves power. You can wonder is left to forget to do. What bridge isn’t fixed in Isingiro or what school is falling apart in Moroto.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will only be a post-boy with lectures, but at this point. He will only use this to make a positive vibe or address the opposition, as they are trouble. He has not long ago said where the opposition has MPs, he has striked that district out of the map and stopped developing it. When your discussing what that sort of man, you know it is only his vision and his stories that matter.

The President have to show another side of himself, but that will be lie. He will then lie, because we know what he does and what he has done. The misuse of power, the ruthless acts against people who are in his way. This is known and he cannot run away from it. It is known and public knows it too. His cronies cannot hide that fact. Even if they try.

At this point. National Dialogue is pointless, unless Museveni pulls a rabbit out of the hat and says, who he plans to succeed him and what the NRM dynasty wants to be the next Grand Pumba. Peace.

The Runaway Bride: Kyarenga Edition!

The Namboole Stadium Management or the Mandela National Stadium have not told the truth. That the PML News on twitter proved, as they told the Emma Promotions and Marketing Agency not the whole truth on the 13th October 2018, as they told there would be a wedding today. However, the whole stadium was empty and no activity. This is no surprise as the Government and National Resistance Movement (NRM) are doing the same with Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, as they have done with blocking Dr. Kizza Besigye in earlier years from venues.

The added proof of the deception was that the same Uganda Police Force didn’t clear the stadium either for this date. Also, been revealed is that the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has blocked the second agreement made with the booking company of Bobi Wine for the 9th November 2018. As the FUFA says it impossible because of a National Match that makes it impossible. Another proof, that the venue is totally blocked for the artist and MP.

That means the two scheduled dates at 20th October for a non-existing wedding and 9th November is for the scheduled match on the 17th November 2018. Clearly, the staff and management of the Stadium doesn’t have the capacity for both a concert within a week and a football match. That is to an extent, that not even Bosco run.

At this point the company working for Bobi Wine better chill and himself better find a more suitable venue. A one that doesn’t block him and at a space where the fingers of Bosco cannot touch. And if he does, it will backfire or be so foolish. That the whole world see it for what it is. We already know the deal and seen it before. This is not new tactics from the NRM. No, they have made a living doing this to the rebels and the ones who defy them.

However, if Bobi Wine built a stage in his garden, called up a concert series and asked for people from the whole country to come to his compound in Wakiso District. They have to do what they did to Besigye to stop it. They have to make Kasangati and the district filled with road-blocks and house-arrest him. As they have to make makeshift roadblocks and post post to block people. Just as they did with Besigye in 2016. That is costly and the NRM doesn’t have that kind of money… Unless they borrow for ghost projects and pay security outfits doing this. Peace.

South Sudan: OHCHR Reports of rising violence in Western Equatoria, in the timelines of the Peace Agreements!

There are still signs of trouble within the Republic of South Sudan. Even if the parties has signed the Khartoum Agreement and the Revitalized Agreement for a Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS). Where the parties of the civil war has signed the deals and ratified the agreements within the parties as well. You can wonder if they will follow the cease-fire and the stop the race for being supreme. As the wounds are still there and the war-lords are still out and about.

There also hope that these parties might reach a final verdict and peace. But if they are willingly doing so. As they have violated the cease-fire and used their weapons on civilians. The JMEC has already questioned how much the parties has done to fulfil the R-ARCSS on the 12 October, that said the parties has only done 35 % of the agreement. Therefore, the stakeholders has actions to do. This is the reality, as well as the 28th June 2018 Khartoum Declaration. With knowing this.

The timeline of this of OHCHR, where this is actions happening after the Khartoum Declaration and before the R-ARCSS. This is clear violations of these agreements. That is why this isn’t only crimes against humanity, but in violations of recent agreements done by both parties. That should be thought of, as the matter remains and the war-lords are still roaming. That is why these sort of violations are showing signs, where the parties might not being fully committed to the agreed upon peace agreement.

Take a look!

Between April and August 2018, civilians have borne the brunt of repeated attacks by SPLA IO (RM) and SPLA forces, caught between their predatory tactics. At least 28 villages, one IDP settlement and one refugee camp, in the states of Gbudue and Tambura (Western Equatoria) were attacked. A decrease in attacks was recorded from August onwards” (OHCHR, 18.10.2018)

Through its investigation, UNMISS HRD found that at least 887 civilians were abducted. Most of the victims were women (505) and girls (63). Considering the high prevalence of rape in cases of abduction by SPLA-IO (RM) forces, UNMISS HRD and OHCHR are concerned that these women and girls have been raped and/or sexually enslaved, consistent with trends of sexual violence documented in South Sudan since 2014. They are also concerned that abducted men and boys have been forcibly recruited to “build up an army”, as claimed by an SPLA-IO (RM) commander. In addition, UNMISS HRD documented extensive looting of civilian property and forced displacement. Humanitarian organizations, particularly their convoys, have been targeted in armed ambushes and their personnel abducted for several days before being released, unlike most local civilians who are still held captive” (OHCHR, 18.10.2018).

SPLA forces carried out a few counter-offensives against SPLA-IO (RM), while becoming more aggressive towards civilians at security checkpoints or during reconnaissance patrols. In particular, during the Nagero offensive in May 2018, SPLA elements did not comply with the principles of distinction between military objectives and civilian objects, as well as between civilians and combatants. This led to serious international human rights and humanitarian law violations, resulting in unlawful killing of civilians, looting and destruction of civilian property” (OHCHR, 18.10.2018).

That this are reports made from one part of South Sudan. Not the whole republic, but shows to what extent the two major armies and parties are doing. This is what the SPLM/A-IO and TgoNU are up too. This is the works of Dr. Riek Machar and President Salva Kiir Mayardit. That they are in-charge and done this to civilians, they have violated their rights and killed without mercy. These women and children were abducted and taken away, because of how the war-lords saw the possibility to use them for their cause. Not for their or anything, they are casualties of war and has lost everything because it. Used and scorned by warriors, defenceless and taken.

This because of two men wants to be supreme and show it with force. Even as they are pledging peace to the world. This report shows that the first months of cease-fire has still cost people life, burned down their villages and taken women and children away, because of their need to show strength towards their enemies. Peace.

Today, armed men tortured a civilian in the midst of Kampala!

The Ministry of Peace concerns itself with war, the Ministry of Truth with lies, the Ministry of Love with torture and the Ministry of Plenty with starvation. These contradictions are not accidental, nor do they result from from ordinary hypocrisy: they are deliberate exercises in doublethink”George Orwell (Published in 1984).

Today’s leaked video from Kampala, is the second time in a short time where either Security Forces or trained military men are using weapons to torture people. Last time it was CMI (Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence) Officers or ISO (Internal Security Organization) who was beating up soldiers in Bugiza on the 12th October 2018.

Now, today, there is another one video leaked, as the plain clothed men in broad daylight was hitting on a civilian with their weapons in the ribs. before they abducted him into the car. Clearly there is something sinister going as these men was allowed to do so. Just like the men in Bugiza who was Security Officials beating the suspects up in cars.

The report from the street is this:

During a broad daylight in Kampala city, Uganda near Theatre Labonita. First tortured and later driven away in a PSV vehicle registration No. UAF 325 S to unknown destination” (Aaron Ainomugisha, 18.10.2018).

There was plenty of witnesses of this crime done in the midst of Kampala. We don’t know which organization they comes from and why they picked this man up. This is mere violence, an expression of the lack of procedure or rights for the people. As the Security Officials can beat on you for no reason and take you to an unknown destination. When they can hit you like these gentlemen did with their weapons. Who knows what they will do to him in the car.

This sort of leaked video of the horrific scenes shows the blatant impunity that is happening in the Republic. That they were allowed to do this and it is terrifying that this is happening. This is a sign of free rampant display of possible state sanctioned violence. That not even the ending of the power of Boda Boda 2010 could stop. There are clearly more groups who are allowed and you can wonder where these people reside. As they we’re allowed to do this in the midst of Kampala.

That the security and the lack of respect of people’s value are evident. As this was mafia style of sanctioned violence, as they were beating on him and shown the people who was ruling. Before riding away in the Toyota Hiace type of car. Looking like any random taxi in the Old Taxi Park.

Therefore, this shows that the army, the police and the government are letting violence get out of hand. This is the second time within a week these sort of videos has leaked of security personnel violently attacking people in public. Who knows what happens behind closed doors. We known some of safe-houses and Nalufenya, but who knows what is hidden behind the surface.

What else sinister is going on to the enemies of the state and the ones who are in the way of the elite and the ruling regime. Peace.

South Sudan: UN report urges release of hundreds of abducted civilians (18.10.2018)

Corroborated victim and witness accounts indicate that women and girls as young as 12, abducted by opposition forces, were paraded and lined up for commanders to choose as “wives”.

GENEVA, Switzerland, October 18, 2018 – A UN report has documented the immense suffering of civilians in the Western Equatoria region of South Sudan where 900 people were abducted and 24,000 forced to flee their homes during a surge in violence between April and August.

In April 2018, after several months of relative calm, the pro-Riek Machar Sudan People’s Liberation Army in-Opposition (SPLA-IO (RM)) intensified attacks against villages and targeted civilians in Gbudue and Tambura. The Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA)’s offensives to dislodge SPLA-IO (RM) forces also resulted in harm to civilians, as these operations failed to distinguish between civilians and combatants, the report by the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and the UN Human Rights Office says.

Corroborated victim and witness accounts indicate that women and girls as young as 12, abducted by opposition forces, were paraded and lined up for commanders to choose as “wives”. Those who were not chosen were left for other fighters who subjected them to repeated rapes. Abducted young men and boys were forced to be fighters or used as porters.

“Most of the abducted civilians are, as far as we know, still being held captive. The SPLA-IO (RM) must immediately release them, first and foremost the children,” said UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet. “As part of the revitalised peace process, it is also essential that the Government of South Sudan acts to hold the perpetrators of the abuses and violations detailed in this report to account.”

he Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMISS, David Shearer, said it was disappointing that the spike in violence took place while warring parties were negotiating a new peace agreement and despite positive reconciliation efforts in the affected community at the time.“A new peace agreement has been signed which puts the onus and responsibility on the warring parties to ensure that no atrocities are committed in future. UNMISS will be closely monitoring any potential violations and abuses,” said David Shearer.

The report documented SPLA-IO (RM) attacks on at least 28 villages, a settlement of internally displaced persons and a refugee camp, in Gbudue and Tambura. Serious abuses of international human rights and humanitarian law occurred during these attacks, including unlawful killings, abduction, rape, sexual slavery, forced recruitment, and destruction of property.

UNMISS Human Rights Division has identified three SPLA-IO (RM) commanders who allegedly had effective command and control of the forces committing these abuses, which may amount to war crimes.

SPLA forces also carried out military operations that were characterized by serious violations, including unlawful killings and destruction of civilian property, particularly around Nagero in May 2018.

Among its recommendations, the report calls for accountability and for the reinforcement of existing recovery and resilience programmes to re-establish access to basic services, particularly medical and psychosocial support for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence, and for the provision of economic alternatives for young fighters.
