#Telema and #Yebela – Demonstrations against the killings in Beni and also against the Third Term for President Kabila all-over the DRC

DRC Kinshasa 26.05.2016 Peaceful Protest P1

Today there we’re planned marches from the Opposition in Lubumbashi, Kisangani, Bukavo, Goma and Kinshasa after what I perceived information and the reports today are startling.

Kinshasa 26.05.2016 Tear Gas

As there were planned demonstrations in the capital Kinshasa, there was calm in the morning, but there we’re many closed stores and police we’re in the streets. Also less traffic than normal as well. The youth of the UDPS with its head David Mukeba was the first line to the front of the demonstrations at one point, so UPDS Youth was not following party-line and participating in the demonstrations. At one point the Police barricaded the Martyr’s Stadium. At the MLC Headquarters the Police threw tear-gas at the demonstrators there. This was even said on the Police action: As they walked on the proposed route, the protesters still had to retreat. “Even on the route imposed yesterday, they charge” (…)“We respected the line established by agreement Tuesday”. This proves that the agreements made the ones behind the Demonstrations and the Authorities, the Big-Men change their mind and then the Police starting to use fear and intimidation against the people on the streets of Kinshasa. What is shocking: “that Congresswoman Maman Eve Bazaiba Masudi has just been shot in the leg”. She wa apart of the Demonstration in Kinshasa today!

What the Police have said about the Demonstrations in Kinshasa:

“Police talks about 2,000 demonstrators in Kinshasa. 35 police injured in the capital. The spokesman said no trace respected.Police said an accident caused the death of a civilian. Also there we’re 6 serious injuries, but No Police officer shot”. “They promised a peaceful protest and we found ourselves facing the rioters ,” said the police spokesman.

Lubumbashi 26.05.2016

The planned demonstrations in Lubumbashi did not happen as the people we’re scared as the Police was already in the streets, and the demonstrators was not organized as their leadership was disorganized by the authorities.

Kisangani 26.05.2016

In Kisangani the town was totally silent after the Police and Authorities didn’t allow the Opposition to demonstrate in town. There been reported that their been arrest in town, but no accurate number.

DRC Bukavo 26.05.2016

While in Bukavo there we’re demonstration that the Police tried to disperse as several of demonstrators are arrested and even some are hurt by the Police brutality in town.

Goma 26.05.2016

There we’re demonstrations in Goma, and there the Police brutality went even further where even pictures of demonstrators killed by the Police. There been reported arrest from the Police in town, I don’t have any number. This is also reported from there: “minor children have been detained by police for participating in demonstrations, as the children showed tears when they boarded the Police pick-up”. There was also reported that as the Police shot towards the demonstrators with live-bullets they even hit and wounded a Six-Year old girl in her leg.

In Butembo in North Kivu where there also we’re demonstrations there are released pictures of a demonstrator who was killed by Security Forces during the demonstration in town. In the town while the Police dispersed the public, are truck hit a motorcycle and arrest 4 students and 1 UNC member.

In Bunia there we’re demonstrations, as everywhere else, the Police Brutality we’re there and they used force to disperse the demonstrators. They got 30 minutes to march in the town before the Police starting doing their thing.

What the UN Human Righs DRC is reporting: “at least 9 prohibited demonstrations, 59 people arrested, 1 person & 1 policeman killed, 4 injured” (UN, 26.05.2016).

Gustave Moke reports this about today: “Dr-Congo 100.000 people march against Kabila’s third term & call 4 Pres. Elections: 2 dead, 19 arrest, 57 injured” (Moke, 26.05.2016).

So today the People where it was possible and as long as they we’re allowed too, they walked asked for change in constitution and justice for the people dying in Beni; while the Authorities with their security organization did what they could to disperse, detain and even at some points even taking lives. There been showing their true face and little dignity towards the citizens and protestors. They also protest against the breach of constitution if the current President Kabila wishes to go for a third term, which is most likely; as there haven’t been since independence any peaceful change of Head of State or the President. They have been sitting in power until somebody came with enough guns to punch the clock and take the salary; then they either go into exile or the casket. Therefore the next election is important. Peace.

Remarks on Burundi by Farhan Haq, the Deputy Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General (26.05.2016)

Burundi Violence

Part II: There is a silent War going on in Beni, in the province of North Kivu; this is in the DR Congo!

Beni Cartoon

There will be marches in different cities and towns in the Democratic Republic of Congo, even if the Authorities under the Ruling Party and the President Kabila have disowned it and banished it. So since the first initial reports of what is happening in Beni, North Kivu; and sadly it is more. This has continued for two decades and continues, as FDLR and ADF-NALU, together even with rumored Generals of FARDC paying to “clean” the area. With that in mind, there are killings and violations of humanity.

I will today show other reports and congestion of them, as the reports are saddening and the proof of war in the Province of North Kivu and Beni is solid. Especially when I came over a picture that was not of a peace operation, but a direct war-zone. I will not show kids hacked with machete… as it sadden me as it could be one of the kids; I am godfather too… or children of my family. I am just worried and the reports are from various sources and continues in the same tune; so there a modus operandi. There operations and certainly planned Military operations and guerrilla who attacks civilians for minerals and other valuable. Take a look!

MONUSCO message earlier today: “The ADF have settled in the area and we need the cooperation of the people to dislodge them” (MONUSCO, 25.05.2016).

FARDC Beni May 2016

Governor Julien Paluku (Mayor of Beni for several years) remained adamant: “the war in North Kivu started for a very long time and she narrows on Beni. Of the 6 territories of North Kivu, only the territory of Beni-Mbau is infested by insecurity caused by the Ugandan Rebels of the afd. We have known the CNDP, M23, etc. Anyway to the conference on peace in North Kivu we had were 21 armed groups, nearly all wiped out to date except the FDLR of Rwandan origin and the ADF NALU of Ugandan origin, They are holed up in the mountains of Rwenzori (massive on horseback on the CONGO AND UGANDA) because hunted by President Museveni that they were fighting. Why did they kill to the gun (Machete, knife) and not to the Kalashnikov? It’s not to alert the military personnel stationed in the area. They kill in silence in holding FARDC. This is why it is rumored that the FARDC who massacred in Beni so that it’s a ruse, a diversion. Balance Sheet: 1000 people killed in this manner since 2014. The offensive launched by our armed forces bear fruit: ADF Rebels have been killed, other captured” (PPRD,’Henri Mova Sakanyi – ADF-NALU De La Guerrila au Terrorisme et Vice Versa, 20.05.2016).

First Report:

“Peacekeeping force MONUSCO United nation- specific in his squad from Tanzania, going in to search for and to locate the ADF and FDLR rebels in the forests of Beni in the Democratic Republic of Congo to cooperate with the Congolese army FARDC. Monday 23 May. When delegates from the UN had traveled to Goma and Beni in order to investigate the thugs of the FDLR and ADF-Nalu attacked civilians day by day killing and looting, against it is how well and settings to hunt down and attack militants’ such as the Okapi Radio reports. Even if they say the growing MONUSCO and FARDC dressed intense attack by the militants, reports say the growing thugs FDLR remain wannachi much, and their leaders, many Kakamatwa and those who remain forests do not have power again after 22 years with the wild” (Almant, 2016).

11-24-monusco-drc

Second Report:

“This thief confesses: “I am Rwandan . I was recruited in Masaka , Uganda. Those who negotiated me made me believe that there is a job, a mission in Congo ( R.D.C ) . They guaranteed me that I will be paid a monthly salary of four hundred dollars ( $ 400 US ) … “ It is a Rwandan refugee who was originally attached to Nakivale refugee camp in Isingiro District, adjacent to the Masaka and Mbarara. Following this popular interrogation, the criminal was taken to security officials. Now we can understand why the population of Beni has persisted in exposing his killers are from Rwanda and Uganda , there is an indigenous extermination plan and occupancy project or Balkanization started unbeknownst to the Congolese” (Kyavaghendi, 2016).

Third Report:

“Communicates from FARDC in Beni”, Echoes Sukola I, Eringeti, Two elements of the ADF. Congolese Katabeyi captured in Ituri (…) during the intervention troops Sukola I and about Ugandan recruited Masaka, captured yesterday (…) the triangle of death during the fighting will all be presented on Thursday 26 May to public (…) for mayor of Beni by the competent department” – Lieutenant Mak Hazukay – spokesman Sukola5 Operation Asked about the Rwandan convoys intercepted today near Butembo, Mak Hazukay was skeptical:” Yesterday was the Fuso trucks and today are mini bus !!! I am waiting to see for myself (…) Let them send us the pictures of the procession. intelligence is also the honesty and sincerity”.

Beni City Hall 20.05.2016

Last Report today:

“This gentleman is an alleged ADF he claims to have been recruited at Masaka at the border between Kenya and Uganda by a person “x” because of a work of $ 400 a month in the DRC. This alleged suspect has been captured by FARDC during an attack on their position in the territory of Beni, it was presented to the security committee of the city of Beni this Thursday, 19 may at the town hall of Beni” (Beni RDC, 20.05.2016).

So with this all in mind, there is yet proof of the silent war. It is silent as the world still does not care or renegade behind it. They just look away and follows Ariana Grande and burning Ivory in Kenya, instead of the Violence happening. DRC or RDC have a territory with MONUSCO and FARDC where there Guerrillas like FDLR and ADF-NALU who are terrorizing the populations and civilians to control certain minerals and wealth in the area. With the knowledge of a possible General Muhindo Akili Mundos from the FARDC is reported to pay per head for “cleaning” the area. With that in mind, together with the knowledge today, there are more people and evidence of the matter, which even people captured in Uganda and recruited there, before becoming parts of the ADF-NALU. That is worrying. Peace.

While in eastern DRC, the “Guarantors” will assess the process to neutralize other active rebel groups, including the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) and the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).

The five-day field visit will take the delegation to Goma and Beni, in eastern DRC, a region that has been rocked by series of attacks by various armed groups.

The visit is a follow-up to earlier consultations in Uganda, Rwanda and the DRC in an attempt to intensify efforts to neutralize armed groups in eastern DRC and expedite the repatriation of the ex-M23 combatants from these countries to the DRC.

Following the last report of the United Nations Secretary-General on the implementation of the PSC Framework, the Security Council in a new resolution 2277 (2016) stressed “the importance of neutralizing all armed groups operating in the eastern DRC, particularly the FDLR, the ADF, and other groups.”

Solidarity march for the victims of Beni we’re dispersed in Kinshasa today; while Opposition leaders were arrested!

Beni Demonstration 21.05.2016

Today there was a march for the victims of the Beni Massacre in Kinshasa, as the march happen in Kinshasa, the Police had to intervene and take down the leaders of the Tshimanga Tshipanda Vidje we’re arrested, also Albert Moleka, the organizers of the demonstrations and others was picked up by the Police in Kinshasa, as the Congolese Authorities doesn’t want any opposition.

What was reported from a witness to Politico.cd today:

“It was following the call of civil society, a march should be organized Exchanger Limete the intelligent building ( government headquarters , Editor’s note) to file a memo. The recommended attire was “black”. While world black outfit arrived at the scene was arrested by men in civilian clothes (…) Me, I escaped and hid in the university St. Augustine. The students gave me notes I held in hand and I borrowed the rail road to get home” (Politico.cd, 21.05.2016).

I have to drop these words, as the Police are shutting down demonstrators who wants justice for the ones that died and are killed in Beni, in North Kivu Province, who deserves a minute and that the guerrillas and army generals get their charge and time for killing civilians.

Beni Pray

Félix Antoine Tshilombo Tshisekedi writes this; “I am blessed! In reality, I’m Congo! For everything you say, I’m disgusted! In fact, I’m pissed in front of so many carelessness, negligence, bestiality… So, I am speaking to those who have the responsibility to secure the population: what are you doing our Congo? Where do you think your children will live and their descendants? In a river of blood? What have we done to deserve such a surge of hatred and indifference of your share? On what floor are you looking to sit your domination? On a cemetery? I don’t have words to appoint your attitude. I’m even incapable of feeling hatred vis-à-vis your cruelty. I suffer in silence and I have been powerless to the killing of mine. In Kinshasa and elsewhere on the national territory, you kill by the mégestion. In Lubumbashi and throughout the katanga, you kill by repression. To the east and far north, you kill by compromise. O Congo my country, for yet to be a haven of peace, blessed by the creator who gave us everything, why so much bad? Are we really unable to live the hand in hand with our ideological differences, our cultural diversity and observing our own commitments? I’m not going to turn to the international community and start to whine. No. These are our dead! Victims of our own stupidity. We must mourn them with dignity and know them justice. These are our dead, and it is up to us to be able to put an end to this series black. Their blood cries out for justice and seeks damages. Let us all congolese, defend our country, our people and our freedom! Let us build a country more beautiful than ever before, in peace and dignity, in order to ensure the well-being to our posterity… Forever” (Felix Antoine Tshilombo Tshisekedi, 18.05.2016).

This is what I have for now. There more to come as we all should be JeSuiBeni! Peace.

Statement of the Africa Liberal Network on the recent warrant of arrest for Moise Katumbi and his arrival in South Africa for medical treatment (21.05.2016)

Moise Katumbe 20.05.2016

21 May 2016

Release: Immediate

The ALN notes with extreme concern the warrant of arrest for Moise Katumbi, opposition leader and former Governor of Katanga Province.

Mr Katumbi has recently arrived in South Africa for medical treatment following the firing of teargas directed at him and his supporters.

The charges against Mr Katumbi follow extensive intimidation and arrest of numerous opposition supporters. With elections scheduled for November this year and President Joseph Kabila showing clear indications that he seeks an unconstitutional extension of his term, there is an urgent need for inclusive dialogue amongst all stakeholders.

The lack of both state resources and empowerment provided to Commission Electorale Nationale Indépendante (CENI) further inhibits the democratic right of Congolese citizens to participate in free and fair elections.

ALN President and former Minister of Planning Olivier Kamitatu states that: “President Kabila has deliberately sabotaged the electoral process. The ruling policy is one of chaos and fear”.

Further to the ALN’s resolution (adopted at the 12th General Assembly in January 2016) on the political crisis in the DRC, the Network calls for the end to violence and the start of peaceful, legitimate dialogue within the context of the rule of law. All parties, both opposition and majority, must be protected and guaranteed their rights in political activities and assembly.

The ALN furthermore calls for the protection of Mr Katumbi and a fair trial should there be credible evidence. If not, the government of President Kabila is to cease its intimidation and arbitrary arrest of the opposition.

The Network maintains the position that functioning democracies are bound by the rule of law and constitutionalism, including adherence to presidential term limits.
