Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali isn’t about unity or strengthening the state, or take care of it’s sovereignty for that matter. No, Abiy only cares about his power and his ability to enforce his reign. That’s why his willing to go to war. This is why there is so much conflict and famine in the Republic.
It’s all because of Abiy’s will to use military force against unarmed civilians. His willing to use Machiavellian means to entrust himself every where. He is imposing his decree or orders. Getting middle-men to be his token supporters and tricking enemies to think he is their friends. Abiy is buying time and finding out new schemes to topple or get rid of the ones standing in his way.
Certainly, Abiy has no scruples or no heart. There is no one he cannot touch or try to capture. He is willing to burn and use vengeance to get his way. Together with his allies, he can massacre, mass-arrest and strike with lethal force against anyone who dares to challenge him. If people aren’t submissive and gives way. They are an enemy and a danger to society. That’s why there been so many tragedies in the era of Abiy.
Abiy is a warlord. He thrives on war. Bullets, drones and skirmishes are his life-line. If he doesn’t get the victory on the battlefield. Abiy will find ways to humiliate you or ensure your demise. Just so you take a botched up agreement or get outsmarted by cronies. That’s what he hopes for and if you dare to challenge. Know that your life is on the line and your easy access for the state. They can capture you and they can get rid of you too.
It is just unique how so many of the #NoMore crowd didn’t see this as Tigray was burning. As Tigray didn’t have food or medicine, neither did it have telecommunications or any utilities. Their main party was decreed as “terrorist” and the warfare was on. The allies was all ready and invaded the region. They massacred, killed and looted. It was months of bloodshed and a horrific conflict. A conflict that transpired and showed what sort of man Abiy was. He together with Amhara and Eritrean allies they went in to annihilate them. The plan was to wipe them out, because they didn’t join the party and didn’t accept to be underlings under Abiy. The Eritreans wanted to help, because they have history and could avenge that. Amhara could annex territory and become the strongest region of the Nation. Alas, here is where the trouble started.
Abiy unleashed and strengthen Amhara beyond reason. He did it boost the war-effort and Amhara even armed civil works or civilians in a para-military group “Fano”. Not only boosted the Regional Special Forces, which all have participated in the war in Tigray. This has consequences and now that the peace agreement is in motion with Tigray. Abiy has no choice but to stop the warfare and go against a former ally. An ally that is in it to end Tigray and ensure it goes back to the stone-age.
The Prime Minister and his decisions to consolidate power. First he did so by revising the structure of the EPRDF into the one-party, Prosperity Party. Signing a “peace-deal” or a “war-pact” with Eritrea, which was the secretive arrangement that no one knows for certain entails. While Abiy did his best to look different than his predecessors. Even though, he used similar means to quell dissent and go after vocal critics. Abiy ensured that parties followed his line and got them intermingled with his new policies under the “medemer” umbrella. That has only been used to look good and not the reality on the ground.
Abiy has enforced not only “operation law enforcement” in Tigray, but he has secured the coup d’etat to install his favoured people in Amhara. The ones his now combatting and having issues with. That is the sort of erratic leadership that comes with Abiy. One minute he love bombs you, the next his actually dropping bombs on you. It isn’t beautiful, but it what he does…
The medemer terror is a real deal. So many people has seen it and felt it. Across the Republic the tyranny of Abiy is persisting. He can lie, deceive and put up smokescreens. However, the truth is grim, dark and sinister. A warlord who clothed himself in a cloak for peace. He can speak of peace and how he wants to accomplish peaceful times. Abiy on the other hand orders the weapons, the bullets and sends the soldiers out to battle. The death, the destruction and constant insecurity is on his watch.
This is the “medemer” that Abiy has created, this is the nation that his running and he pursuit conflicts. He thrives in combat and when the guns are blazing. It is like it is problem that he cannot kill or silence someone. That’s why every year and nearly every season. There are someone behind bars, someone died mysteriously or full on war between various entities in Ethiopia. That is all the making of Abiy. This is how he runs business and how he consolidate power. Not by negotiations or by dialogue. No, everything is solved by the gun. Peace.
