Opinion: President Museveni shows his own twisted logic in defense of the Age Limit!

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni are today defending the lifting of the age limit. It is not inspiring or flavor of love. More of the same old passion fruit blended with pineapple and in the end called exotic. It is in the same regard when trying estimate and entail his arguments, he can make a lion into a little puppy, when needed. Seriously, if he would have listen to himself in the 1980s and how he sounds today. Mr. President would vomit and get ill. Unless, it was ruse and a lie all along.

“In a continent like Africa where we have had a leadership crisis and still faced with many challenges we need to be flexible, not merely legalistic and utilise all the potential from both the young and old. This is because it is more about our safety, survival and prosperity and not who leads us on that journey,” President Museveni said” (…) “Israel has since 1948 been rotating leaders young and old. Today Israel is a super power yet in a largely hostile environment. The great leaders that transformed China, Deng Xiaoping and Deng Yingchao, were of advanced age,” said President Museveni. “The great United Kingdom Prime Minister Winston Churchhill was leader up to the age of 81and offered some of the best leadership to his country.” (…) “He added: “I think the problem of Africans is concentrating on trivialities yet our issues should be about the African destiny and how to guarantee our future.” (…) “Civil servants and judges are about service. They are hired to provide a service. Politics, on the other hand is about representation. Do not mix service with representation. Service is technical,” said the President. “I hire you to be a doctor because you are technical. Politics however is representation. Drunkards will meet in a bar and elect their fellow drunkard to represent them. Representation is about speaking for people, negotiating, lobbying. It is a different form of service from the technical type.” (…) “The intolerance is because the opposition are ideologically bankrupt and have nothing to offer. They are desperate because the Movement has revamped the economy and generated revenue and we are able to deliver to the population. They now think that the only way to get rid of the Movement is to do away with particular players” he noted” (PPU, 2017).

One of the leadership crisis is that the one leader stay on, especially the ones that treat themselves as liberators. They liberated themselves and their clans, their own people and their own movements, but not the republic itself. The same can be said about Museveni, he liberated his family and his close movement comrades, but not the state. He has not utilized the young, as they are mostly in poverty and unemployed. Therefore, his reasoning there is futile. It is hard to see the rising cronyism of the movement bringing prosperity for the nation, when he one on the wheel has not delivered it for three decades.

If you call taking a nation or a republic hostage and controlling it as trivialities. It is mind boggling, but fitting his current leadership and his reasoning. As he is entitled to do, so in his own twisted mind. That is why, if the representation is not on his merits, than they are drunkards. It benign for him to see anyone else, as he is so technical about his presidential handshakes and his use of the army to solve everything from doctor’s crisis to armyworms.

That it is intolerance to not knight the man the living legend and almighty savior of the Ugandan republic. Shows how blind of power he has become. He has leveled so much on the mushrooms on Mario. That he got extra lives in plenty and planning to use them in office. I don’t know if he thinks about how intolerant he is, when he thinks he is the only one who can represent the republic. That no one else has the ability to represent them and that does not concern the age, at all.

Many wants to get rid of the Movement, but also Museveni. He has stayed since 1986… I don’t see if the man can be future, when he is still living in the past. I am tired of his nonsense. I will end it here. He doesn’t deserve a honorable approach, he is logic is twisted. Peace.

Addressing humanitarian needs, alongside long-term investment in development, vital to tackling Somalia’s fragility (04.12.2017)

In 2017, over $1.2 billion has been mobilized enabling humanitarians to avert a famine but the causes of Somalia’s fragility remain.

MOGADISHU, Somalia, December 4, 2017 – The Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia, Peter de Clercq has welcomed the State of Qatar’s commitment to partner with Somalia amid growing calls for a new approach where sustained humanitarian action is complemented by long-term efforts to build the country’s resilience. Mr. de Clercq was addressing participants at the workshop for Qatar Humanitarian and Development partners on the Somalia Resilience and Recovery Framework held in Mogadishu on 2 December 2017.

Over the past decades Somalia has faced a vicious cycle of recurring droughts and protracted conflict that have led to loss of lives, caused mass displacement, and put the lives of millions of Somalis in peril and dependent on life-saving assistance. Since 2011, with the generous contribution by international partners, approximately USD 4.5 billion has been spent on the emergency response alone. In 2017, over $1.2 billion has been mobilized enabling humanitarians to avert a famine but the causes of Somalia’s fragility remain.

“I am encouraged to see the Government initiating discussions to forge a way forward on how to strengthen the structural resilience of Somalia to prevent future humanitarian disasters that undermine the country’s path to recovery and reconstruction,” said Mr. de Clercq. “Effective and collective drought response has so far prevented famine in 2017, but much more is needed to trigger long-term resilience and development, and protect fragile progress and achievements. We cannot continue to wait until the current crisis is over before we embark on promoting long-term solutions. We can help address the drivers of fragility and insecurity if we collectively act now.”

The Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, Gamal M. Hassan, thanked the State of Qatar which recently signed a development agreement with the Federal Government of Somalia worth $200M for infrastructure development including support for education and youth employment initiatives. “The impact of the recurrent climatic shocks continues to disrupt our development vision, hence the need for preventative measures and sustainable solutions that are based on resilience and sustainable development,” Minister Gamal M. Hassan told participants. “In 2018, as part of the Resilience and Recovery Framework, we aim to accelerate collaboration between humanitarian and development partners on the agreed collective outcomes.”

Ambassador Tariq Bin Ali Faraj Al-Ansari, Director of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to work with the Federal Government of Somalia and to align their funding with the National Development Plan priorities. The State of Qatar provides support for humanitarian, resilience and recovery efforts through partners such as the Qatar Charity and the Red Crescent among others, in partnership with the UN and national authorities.

“Qatar’s support to Somalia is anchored on its principled stand on global commitments including the “leave no one behind” vision of the Agenda 2030. We provided US$210 million development assistance to Somalia since 2010. Qatar also signed a $200 million bilateral agreement on 28 November 2017 with the Somali government focusing on job creation, infrastructure, economic empowerment and education, to be implemented in partnership with the United Nations. Regional and global actors need to take a unified and coherent approach when supporting Somalia in order to be effective”, he underscored.

The 2018 Somalia Humanitarian Needs Overview launched in November shows that the unprecedented drought, spanning at least four consecutive poor rainy seasons, has resulted in severe and growing humanitarian needs across Somalia. Limited rain, displacement, lack of access to basic services and continuing conflict continue to drive needs. Some 6.2 million people need humanitarian assistance and protection assistance, 3.1 million of these need urgent life-saving assistance.

NASA Chief Strategist David Ndii arrested taken to Milimani Law Court and later released on Bond!

The National Super Alliance (NASA) Chief Strategist David Ndii who was arrested at his hotel, Leopard Hotel in Kwale County, driven towards Mombasa and finally ended in DCI in Nairobi. Today he has been charged and alleged with two counts of Incitement.

David Ndii and his legal team is at the Milimani Law Courts. Where the charges and counts will be delivered. I am suspecting that the state will using the Penal Code of CAP 63. Where they will use Article 96 : “Any person who, without lawful excuse, the burden of proof whereof shall lie upon him, utters, prints or publishes any words, or does any act or thing, indicating or implying that it is or might be desirable to do, or omit to do, any act the doing or omission of which is calculated” (Penal Code – Cap 63). This might be used against him for the resistance message and for the resistance of the state with the newly created People’s Assemblies, which he is running the county. If he is charged with this count in the court, he could face up to five years in prison.

If not as part of the same Penal Code of CAP 63 Article 77: “Subversive activities (1) Any person who does or attempts to do, or makes any preparation to do, or conspires with any person to do, any act with a subversive intention, or utters any words with a subversive intention, is guilty of an offence and is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years” (Penal Code – CAP 63). But by forcing these laws for the public opinion and for creating People’s Assembly is a stretch to say at least. Than, you could question the subversive and incitement of violence created by William Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta during the campaign and the rallies after 1st September 2017. They have attacked and thrown rocks at the Courts and NASA. At levels that David Ndii ever has covered or acted upon.

That is why this sort of actions are worrying. Even if they are not sanctioned, but by his actions as a People’s Assembly Committee within the NASA is turned criminal. For standing up for his beliefs and his political place within Kenya. Shouldn’t be criminal. As he was hounded like a drug-lord in Kwale and later transported without knowledge to Nairobi. Later questioned by officers and then taken to Milimani Law Courts. Where several of attorneys and other NASA leaders came to help his case.

After over 24 hours with these charges, this news came:

DPP Keriako Tobiko has directed DCIKenya that David Ndii be released on police bond. Further, DPP has directed that once investigations are completed, the resultant inquiry file be forwarded to ODPP Kenya for appropriate directions” (ODPP KE, 04.12.2017).

Clearly, this case isn’t over and Kenyatta are using scare tactics and the courts to try to put opposition into submission. He and his comrades are clearly showing their totalitarian traits and their oppressive behavior. If they will ever charge him for the fake memo in the article inside Standard Media Digital on the 1st December 2017. Is hard to say, but that is paper-thin as the man himself is saying it is fake. Therefore, the NASA lawyers and others would have field day in the trial if the Jubilee used the courts to file a case on that matter.

So now they are pending investigations onto the man, who they have wrongfully arrested in the first place. If Ndii would sue the state and he should together with the NASA. To prove how wrong it was and how blatant disregard of the rule of law. It all was. This is totally disrespectful.

Ndii shouldn’t be out on BOND. He should be 100% free, just like all other citizens. But because of political affiliation and leadership role in NASA. He is now an open target by the authorities. It is really a double standard. Peace.
