The 10th Parliament went on a visit to the Nalufenya detention facility on the 19th May 2017, that the Security Agencies in charge of the facility has made this sort environment and this allegations of torture there. Doesn’t come from the wind, but from the certain leaked photos and leaked information from former detainees at the facility. That is certainly the reason for the fear of ending in the dungeons of Nalufenya, as the report is clearly saying more than enough. Also, that the Police together with other security agencies worked to clean up the place and make sure the most hurt detainees was moved. If not the committee would have seen the real-deal. The manufactured story they tried to make, as the sudden massive move of detainees proves the state tries to cover-up their misgivings. Certainly, there are more untold, than told, but the indications are strong enough at this given time.
“Nalufenya Detention Facility is a gazetted police station that has been in existence since independence and was initially gazetted for the population of Jinja because of high crime rates in the district” (…) “Nalufenya operates as a special police facility dedicated to handling “handling profile cases” where suspects are brought from any part of the country for investigation and interrogation” (…) “The Committee was informed by the officers (SSP Henry Mugumya) that the police in carrying out the “special operations” works jointly with other sister security agencies such as Internal Security Organization (ISO), External Security Organization (ESO), Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI) among others” (Parliament, P: 6, 2017).
“From the inspections of the look of the lock up book/ register, the Committee found that within the course of one week, many detainees were transferred to Luzira Maximum Security Prison and other detention facilities. The Committee therefore, could not establish whether there had been overcrowding or not or whether those transferred had been tortured at the facility” (Parliament, P: 11, 2017).
“The Committee observed that detainees at Nalufenya detention facility are held incommunicado. All inmates noted that since their detention, their families are not aware of their whereabouts. They were therefore concerned of the psychological torture of their families” (Parliament, P: 13, 2017).
“The Committee is gravely concerned by the lack of coordination in the security agencies in executing arrests of suspects. It is apparent that owing to lack of coordination, the Police cannot always account for the cases of torture” (Parliament, P: 14, 2017).
“The detainees seem to live under fear and there is a general fear of disclosure of information to any person. Hence, even when the detainees would want to disclose information, they are constrained” (Parliament, P: 14, 2017).
That the level of fear inside the facility, that the state and their security agencies are really using all methods to pour the power over the detainees. As they are locked away from the world and their families left in the dark. That the usual openness of this report is rare, even as the covering-up and clearing the shop before the Members of Parliament came for visit. Is clear by the Lock-Up book and other initial part of the report. Since the leaked pictures and intelligence from the Nalufenya detention facility, therefore hard to believe that there isn’t anything illegal or torture happening at the place. The Committee of the Parliament couldn’t prove, because the clear moving of detainees and the other factors was shuffled away for the visit. Also, the proof that the Police cannot account for the cases of torture, since it might be other security agencies behind the violence on inmates, might show there are not only possible, but more likely for it there.
So with the little said in the Parliament report, it says enough to know there are implications and problems underneath the surface that the State and their security agencies was covering up, as the level of fear, the level of unaccounted affairs from other agencies and also the sudden move of detainees, are as proof of it as it need to be. There been lot of work and preparation by the Police Force before the Members of Parliament showed-up, to make sure that they couldn’t verify or indicate the leaked information was real. Peace.
Parliament of Uganda – ‘Report of the Human Rights Committee on the Alleged Cases of Torture at Nalufenya Detention Facility in Jinja District’ (May 2017)
The Government of the Republic of Botswana is once again very alarmed by the reported crimes against humanity and humanitarian catastrophe that continue to take place unabated in the Syrian Arab Republic. Many of these murderous acts are perpetrated by President Assad, his illegitimate regimes and allies. We are deeply moved by recent images of injured civilians, including women and children in this savage and senseless war. Botswana is also dismayed by increasing reports on the use of chemical agents against the civilian population in Allepo by the Assad Regime.
The Government of Botswana wishes to make an appeal, for the sake of humanity, that all parties to the conflict cease indiscriminate attacks on civilians, including civilian infrastructure and medical facilities. We further call on the Assad Regime to allow immediate and sustained humanitarian access to all people in need, throughout Syria, in accordance with UN resolutions. The international community has allowed the Syrian people to suffer.
The United Nations Security Council has failed dismally in its mandate to lead international efforts to find a lasting solution to the crisis, and to protect the vulnerable population in this conflict. We cannot just standby and do nothing, for history will judge us harshly. We therefore, urge all parties to the conflict, and other members of the international community, to promote and support a political settlement in Syria.
We further urge all States who are increasingly being drawn into this conflict to stop any material or financial support to groups designated as terrorist organisations.
There isn’t every day the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commemorates fallen soldiers and hostages abroad. So, when he does President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who is the host and the man honoring his fellow Executive, should by all means not embarrass himself or anybody else. Though certain quotes from this speech is to nice not to be told to the world; they need to be addressed. Something to honor the words from the long-serving President Museveni, who must have taken a few Nile Brews before jumping on stage after PM Netanyahu.
I have described much of the speech, until the ending when it was nonsense on unprecedented levels, the vanish of wise words together with the mixing of certain aspects of Israeli culture and scripture, the running of Palestine and the negotiations between Palestinian and Jewish people, where obvious, even I won’t discuss or try to comply with a valid argument for either groups for their arguments for their historical claim to set-area or set-space as the unbalanced and grand scale of the long-term conflict between the two parties are too hectic to touch. But please enjoy the madness from President Museveni. Certainly Don Wanyama must be shaking his hand in the State House, wondering if he needs to order a teleprompter for President Museveni.
Here is what I cared for transcript of the speech:
First: “wanted to thanks for making this sad story 40 years ago, into yet another instrument of bonding the holy land Israel-Palestine with the heartland of Uganda. In particular, Africa in general”
Secondly: “The sad event 40 years ago turned into another bond linking Palestine to Africa” (…) “I say this is yet another bond between Africa and Palestine, because there we’re earlier bonding events. The Story of Joseph and Moses between 1886 B.C. and 1446 B.C. You remember that story? The Story of Joseph, it was also a sad story, but it also get the bond. Just like this one here. At the end of the story of baby Jesus, being hidden in Egypt, I don’t know which year. Because they say: He was hidden there, in the book of Matthew chapter two verses 13-23. He was hidden there from Herrod, Herrod, Herrod was a bad gentleman or something like that. Not my people here wrote 4 AD, but I got reluctant to read it, because how could it be 4 AD, when you are just being born; there must be something wrong, I need to do more research on this here, but the story and the book of Matthew says: say that baby Jesus was hidden in Egypt from Herrod, so that is another bond, another bond between Africa and Palestine, but born out of sad circumstances”
Third: “Then there is the famous story Queen of Sheeba, which is found in the book of Kings Chapter 10 Verses 1-13, the Entebbe rescue operation of 1976 is therefore, yet another bond between the two areas growing out of adversity”.
Fourth: “As you all know, our movement is a liberation movement, liberation movement only fight only, for just causes and never use terrorist methods. Therefore for us when it comes to which war to fight, it is both about the cause and the method. We must fight for a just cause, but also use civilized methods in fighting, even if a fighter has a just cause to fight for, he or she should distil his or her methods. In discriminate use in use of violence is criminal, why target civilians and non-combatants. Even soldiers when they are not armed should not be attacked, that’s our, our doctrine. Even if our enemy are not armed, we never attack him. That’s our doctrine. We are a liberation movement, we use violence to fight for the cause of Africa, but it is disciplined and purposeful violence not in discriminate violence. It is cowardice and criminal to do so. Targeting non-combatants, some people tried to confuse freedom fighters fighting with terrorism. No, you can be a freedom fighter without being a terrorist. Targeting non-combatants max the boundary between freedom fighters and terrorist. Even when the cause is justified”
Fifth: “In the broader matter of the Israel-Palestine area, we in Uganda are guided by the bible. In Chapter 11 of the book of Genesis Verse 31: Abraham came from Uri, don’t know how to pronounce it, it is written U R, I don’t know how to pronounce it, but I pronounce it in our language URI, Mesopotamia and settled in Harrang, Canaan, this is estimated for being in the year of 2081 B.C. There we’re other tribes in that area, such as the Caanites, Ca-na, Canasites, Cardemonites, what is not mention there in the bible”.
Sixth: “Besides the story of the stories of two wives of Abraham, than I pronounced him in our language, Shara and Hagara, I don’t know how you pronounce it the name in your language, but I am pronounce it in my language. When it is called Shara, in my language and the other one is called Hagara. Therefore we in Uganda cannot accept the bigotry that holds, that either of you does not belong to that area. When I meet my friend the Arabs, our the Iranians, this is what I tell them. The other time I, I went to Iran, then there was the, the man who was president of the that time, the one who was the president before this one. The one who is there now, Huh? Bokanamoto? Whaaat?” – ‘People answer, he says loud’ “Ahmadinejad”. Ahmadinejad, and I, I told him about this story, I said because he was saying that the Jews don’t belong to the Middle East, that they came from Europe. That what he was telling me, I said no, but a, I read the bible and here they are, the Jews are here, I showed it to you. I showed him where to, where it was talked about. I also asked him something, which he didn’t know at all, in the bible its talks about the Persians and the Mediants. So I asked him, Ahmadinejad where are the Medians, ‘we now know the Persians are you, are yourselves, but where are the Medians?’ He didn’t know, he didn’t know, he didn’t know the, nobody there knew. So they started asking each other: ‘who? Bodian? Bodian?’ They went on and got a very old man from the university. He the one who came and said: ‘oh, the Medians something something’, I could see that in some of the some of the situations there is a lot of ignorance. A lot of ignorance, and a so I normally tell my Arab friends and a our Iranian friends, that you are all you are all mentioned in the bible”.
Seventh: “The Story of Shara and Hagara, the book of Genesis, the two woman, in the book of Genesis Chapter 1 and Verse 9-13. Incidentally, you need to know, these Ugandans, doesn’t know that you are not Christians. Haha. They don’t know. They think you are Christian. Hahaha, but let them know that you are the grandchildren of Ibrahim and all that, so they that, they assume you are Christian. They don’t even know the Christian are here, I think the Priests are here, the Priest must be fully, the always talking about you, but they think you are Christians. They don’t know that you are, you are not Christian”.
Eight: “That Jews came from Shara and Arabs came from Hagara, therefore, we in Uganda cannot accept the bigotry that told the either of you as I have already said, that does not belong to that area. The Romans upset the equilibrium by dispassing the Jews in the year 66 AD. There after the Jews suffered endless privations, endless sufferings being victims, all sorts of hoodlums, such as Hitler and until they founding of the state of Israel 1948. That was what the Prime Minister was saying here. The Jewish leaders, why is it the avoiding the British nonsense, the British friends are for, sometimes are for, all nonsensical actions, the Jewish leaders, why is there avoiding the British nonsense? Proposing to bring you to Uganda because you have no historical claim here! This was just nonsense, there was this character called Balfour, Balfour something like that, there was a character called Balfour. I don’t know how they pronounce his name, but that gentleman 2000s something creation something that, and they fellow was talking about Uganda. As the home of the Jews, you can see how these fellows are really not serious. Now, fortunately the Jewish leaders rejected that nonsense, that rubbish! We have no historical claim on Uganda, we came from Palestine and want to go back! Those Jewish leaders where very very clever, otherwise we would be fighting you now. This man was called Balfour, that gentleman, that he was foreign minister, when you are so ignorant? Eh? You went to where you had a historical claim, Palestine, therefore rationally, historically and legitimately, the two of you belong to that area, the only way for you and for the world is for the two of you to agree. To live side by side, in two states, one Jewish state and the another one Arab in Peace and with recognized borders. I know there are some people who try to, you know western, waste a lot of time, these international committees, that is why sometimes when I go there I sleep, cause it helps me to survive. The meetings are a lot of energy expended on saying that Palestine is like South Africa. Palestine’s is not like South Africa. South Africa are now trying to say Mandela, the Whites, the South Africa, eeh! Non-Racial state, South Africa, but that is a difference story, cannot be equated, well I have never mediated in the issue of the Palestine. But if you invited me, there be very clear ideas and short time. Because the issues are very clear, a lot of times has been lost, a lot of trouble have been picket up, but I don’t think or do not see any other way. Because they spend some time on the right of the return of the refugees and all that other, but this is a not a, one day if they invite me, I would give them my views, by the time they Israel’s arrested the hostages, in 1976, we had been fighting Idi Amin for Six Years, we had no pause to Amin, right from the beginning, because as the issues, we knew that Amin would head in the wrong direction. It is actually some of the Western countries that we’re supporting the Idi Amin. Therefore Amin’s hobnobbing with the terrorist was a crime in itself. Fortunately his illiterate army had no discipline to deploy properly. Otherwise it would been impossible for the light armed rescue force successfully extracting the hostages. Amin was wrong keep the hostages and the Israelis we’re right to use the incapacity of the army rescue the innocent hostages. Terrorist methods are wrong and necessary complicating factor, even when the cause is just. I salute the moment of the memory of those who died on that occasion on the account, the cascade of mistakes by the different actors, I praise the Lord for the lives those that we’re rescued. Forty Years from the sad events of the 1976 that brought the bonding and adversity, should be time into opportunity”.
Nineth: The Constant hostility by neighbors, Israel has developed high technology center the huge and increasing populace continent of 1.25 billion people today, 980 million who live in Sub-Sahara Africa through new futurairy arrangements can take advantage of those that difficult achievement for rapid growth. Is why Israelis should come and invest in Africa, trade between Israel and Africa, and third party markets is also potentially beneficial”.
Today is not a day to readdress the speech and transcript, as just transcription of it is enough of honor for this speech. The ones that are shocked of this forgets that President Museveni is getting older and think he is the wise-man, the elder with advice not only the funny that even Arsen Ostrovsky wonder where he could pick it up?
The issues is the ways he is rising the issues through his mind, the way the ability of the arguments, the simplistic and character of the whole memorial. As the historical facts and fiction is mended together without any consideration, the bible are mixed into the stew of Entebbe raid of 1976, the establishment of the state, the Balfour agenda of early 1900s when he proposed to give way for the Jewish people to settle in Uganda. Even Hitler who was a hoodlum today, apparently, even had at one point ideas to send them to Madagascar, which was the only African point missing from this speech. But, that is a minor flaw in the other dismay of village attitude and elderly wisdom, while he cannot see the difference between Israel and Palestine, when he has the Prime Minister of Israel, where the Israel Defense Force sent a little group to free hostages in 1976. The other fractions of ages, dates and even tribes in Canaan proves that it was good he became a rebel and a politician and not Pastor, as he has claimed he had at one point to be.
That he had to explain at the Memorial of the Terrorist action had to explain the difference between terrorism and liberation, proves that he have at any point to legitimize his own position and the rule of the Movement. As that was at one point a cornerstone of the speech. I was thinking at one point he would pin the difference between a British Enclave and todays Ugandan Republic, because of the foolish British people and their interests; but that did not pop-up in his mind today.
The speech was to little power and fitted the function, the age is really bearing on Museveni, people we’re smirking and laughing, while he was serious and looked rattled, most of unprepared and unsecure about the subject of the day. The tone and the placement of the ‘facts’ and opinions we’re not making much sense. The ability of keeping the crowd and being interesting is something have had, but now the age have captured the man, even some was sleeping and other murmuring. The best news was that a Israeli radio turned off the broadcast after a while as the speech was such nonsense they rather send something else then what a foreign president we’re speaking about the Israeli mission and respecting the Jewish historical claim to the ‘Palestine’.
This one is the Mugabe-Moment of President Museveni, I am soon seeing him falling in Parliament and also struggling in public. That is to come, as this shows his weakness, as the age is coming and visible. Get the man a teleprompter; teach him the words he is unsure of, isn’t that why he has a 100 Presidential Advisors. Where they can also has their own press-team under the Prime Minster and the State House. Peace.
While the Government Spokesman of Ethiopia Getachew Reda have claimed that the first shot on the border came from Eritrean forces and claimed they we’re at fault for the military operations on the 12th June 2016. This happens while the Eritrean Ministry of Foreign Affairs claim it was the TLPF that was attacking the Eritrean border forces around the Tsorona Front.
With this in mind, it is not easy when these are sending conflicting information and also using all tactics to address each other internal misgivings. Just like the recent Human Rights Violation in the United Nations Reports from the Group of Experts in June 2016. While the Eritrean are claiming the internal oppression of the Omoro people and the killing of demonstrators; also silencing of media; the issue is that both nations have their blames and violations. The Ethiopian ruling party has total control and military control of the nation, the media is controlled and bloggers are detained for questioning the government, the Omoro demonstrations are hunted down and shut down with military forces. So the Ethiopian Government is far from innocent in their internal bravery.
But the Eritrean are nicknamed the “African North Korea” for a reason, all control is in the hands of the President Isias Afewerki, as the UN reports claim is that there is unlimited subscription to the army, slavery, rape and misuse of the citizens from the government officials, as the centralized power is all in the name of the president as he has control of the economy as the national budget is never released and the control of the money running of Eritrea as all under control of Afeweki. UN Report 2016 Eritrea this blog or article explains the matters of how I see on the report on the Human Rights Violations.
With all of this in mind, with the knowledge of the current affairs, and the escalation and worry of new conflict between Ethiopia and Eritrea, as the fellow nations has been in war before. Eritreans are the ones really blasting Ethiopia in international media and defending their ways of government, as they are blaming Ethiopia even for making the accusations that are made by the experts in the recent report. That proves the level of animosity from Eritrean government towards Addis Ababa, as they might feel left alone in Asmara.
While the Ethiopian in the 12 June military operations claimed the aggression was directed from the Eritreans. After that the Eritreans claimed it was the Ethiopians… so there are a limbo and uncertainty, especially since none of these governments are really open to the media or having press freedom in either nation; while the assurance of the reality on the ground and the intelligence is unsure as they both are secretive from the beginning.
None of these nations are perfect, no nation in this world is, but both nations have scruples and has issues with tampering with human rights violations of different levels, they both have different supporters and allies that need the armies or alliances to mend on other issues either on the African Horn, like the Ethiopian who has soldiers in the AMISOM and other Peacekeeping missions and are an ally of the United States and their AFCON, surely as they pulled more armies from Africa after the failed “Black Hawk Down” in Mogadishu and with that in mind then President Bill Clinton pulled the army of around 1100 soldiers in 1993 from the Horn of Africa. And have been for long a steady military ally against terrorism in the region and also a place where the Americans have had military bases, as recently closed the United States Air Force base at Arba Minch in January 2016.
The certainty and clarity is not here in this matter, as there are many undisclosed reports, as the battlefield are kept for the armies and the media are not free in neither Ethiopia or Eritrea, as the stages are set for propaganda from both parties, as the ones who are speaking free on their blogs in for instance in Ethiopia ends behind bars. While the Eritrean are the best news from diaspora who have trusted messengers through online forums, as the silence and fear of detaining or slavery work for questioning the regime, therefore the amount of people going into exile from Eritrea.
So with this knowledge the battle of 12th June 2016 can only be discussed and knowingly gain the needed intelligence when the men on the ground can speak freely and address thoroughly. If not they are realizing footage or pictures of the activity, while also proving the validity of the battlefield. As there will always from a warzone and skirmishes even be false statements, even wrong estimates and the reality will come closer, if not juked to fix the stages for either Eritrea or Ethiopia, as both need a straight face towards their citizens and their international allies and community. As there reports of UAE and Yemen supporting the Eritrea, while Western nations as United States and others are supporting Ethiopia; but that is in general and their obligations world-wide and in military operations, as IGAD and others.
Therefore I cannot say who did what, as the implications of who did what is not certain. The Eritreans are the ones that beating the drum the most in international media, as they want to silence the UN report on Human Rights Violations. While the Ethiopian is easily getting the world to forget the violations against the Omoro demonstrations and Omoro Liberation Front (OLF); with these in mind, these skirmish or military operations just happen when the Eritreans wanted the world to forget the slavery and other accusations and the same with the killings of demonstrators from the Ethiopian regime. What we will not certainly know as these are actions and activity, kept behind sound minds in the central governments in authoritarian regimes who are militarized and not democratic. So the knowledge we will get is indications, but not the actual facts, as the numbers will be spoilt to make Ethiopia or Eritrea bad, the rhetoric will clearly defacing the other by all means. Though the response have been the clearest from Eritrea and accusations the loudest, that does not make it true, if it was so, then the screaming Donald Trump would be wisest politician ever; Ethiopia have another approach and more subtle, though countering the Eritrean, as they also claimed was the reason for the 12th June 2016 skirmishes.
That there been rumors of a plot of taking down President Isias Afeweki of Eritrea, nothing is yet certain about that either, as the “rumored plot” have come in the waters from a unnamed source inside the military intelligence of the Ethiopian hierarchy, and for the moment it is hearsay, but the Eritrean are paranoid; so they do what they can to sell it to the world and those stories are better to sell then slavery and unlimited military subscription of their youth and citizens.
So what I said with many words, nothing is clear, there aren’t enough transparency or accountability to take a true stance, the only thing certain, is that there are taken some shots and that the armies did attack each other, too what extent is not easy to say; as the spokesmen and ambassadors are not talking about that, I am sure that is confidential at both parties. What is surely the fact is that there are fallen men and reported men taken by both armies. That Eritrea has taken Ethiopian men’s life and Ethiopian has taken Eritrean men’s life. Peace.
The Whole Interview:
Worth a watch right? Interesting, right? Peace.
“Eritrea’s Ambassador to the UN has told RFI that Ethiopia was responsible for attacking first in heavy fighting earlier this week. Ethiopia had previously said their forces were responding to an attack by Eritrea around the Tsorana area. Tanks and heavy artillery were involved – although fighting has now subsided. RFI’s Daniel Finnan spoke to Girma Asmerom, Eritrea’s Ambassador to the UN…” (RFI English, 2016)
“We fought for Eritrean independence from the colonial rule of Ethiopia. TPLF has paid a sacrifice for Eritrea greater than the combined sacrifice of the two Eritrean organizations – ELF and EPLF. Even if today Eritrea is attacked, EPRDF will jump into Eritrea, join the Eritrean people and engage the enemy.” – Sebhat Nega on Radio Woyane (May 28, 2007).
Just as the news and confirmed skirmishes on the border between Eritrea and Ethiopia, both nations have not only traded bullet, but also blame for the current aggression. The Eritrean takes their whole Liberation history and blames every bullet ever shot on their soil on Ethiopia, while Ethiopia say the recent ones was the last straw; also they did answer to new shots of guns and artillery from the Eritrean side. As they have not only sent bullet towards the Ethiopian Government, but also sent spies and others to try do create terrorism in Ethiopia.
As the Eritrean Ministry of Information wrote on 14th July 2016:
“The Government of Eritrea will issue detailed statement on the purpose, scope and implications of the latest act of military aggression by the TPLF regime. It is nonetheless clear that mounting opposition from popular movements of the Ethiopian people, endemic corruption and associated economic crisis, as well as the desire to stem promising progress in Eritrea are indeed some of the factors prompting the TPLF regime to indulge in reckless military adventures.” (Shabait.com, 14.06.2016).
“Ethiopia’s military was provoked into launching this week’s attack on Eritrean forces in a disputed border area” (…) ” “major military engagement” (…) “I hope this time around they won’t make that stupid mistake of inviting us to wage a full-scale war” – Government spokesperson Reda.
When you have this kind of strained relationship and also “non” friendship or even diplomacy, no matter what occurs the aggression is seen as a signal of war and cut off the cease-fire. This with the recent worrying reports:
“The Sunday attack of June 12, 2016, launched through the TPLF regime on the Tsorona Front was quashed on Monday (13 June) morning entailing heavy losses to its troops” (…) ” In this reckless attack whose ultimate aim is difficult to comprehend, more than 200 TPLF troops have been killed and more than 300 wounded. These are conservative estimates” (…) ”Why did this callous bloodshed happen? And, for what purpose?” (…) “Those who have instigated this reckless act have attempted to provide the TPLF with political, media and diplomatic smoke-screen, both before and after the attack. They have also deceitfully tried to apportion equal blame to the aggressor and the victim. The Government of Eritrea will address these dimensions of the attack in subsequent statements” (…) “Ministry of Information, Asmara, 16 June 2016 – Eritrean Government”.
While this is worrying enough and by all means the Eritreans wants the numbers as bad as possible for them, as they want to be violated and hurt, the killings would make Ethiopian Government bad, as they have not released any numbers of killings from the Eritrean Army towards them. Not that the numbers game are important, but the propaganda and winning the media war, is as important as the initial battle; Eritrea want to look decent, as the UN Report are addressing the harassment and torture of citizens. So the skirmishes are making people and states forgetting the human rights violations.
Therefore this have been floated and rumoured that the Ethiopian Government have answered towards the Eritrean counterparts:
“Sources familiar with the issue told Aigaforum the government has floated the idea to key western nations as a comprehensive plan for the horn of africa region. The Ethiopian government has informed many western nations that if Isaias Afewroki is not removed from power there will be war and Ethiopia will defend vigorously” (…) ”The issue of Isaias Afewroki’s removal from power gained momentum over the last few weeks with Al- Shabaab deadly attempt to overrun Ethiopia’s AMISOM military camp in Somalia. However, our sources told us the recent clash between Eritrea and Ethiopia in Tserona Northern Tigrai region may have given the proposal more ammunition” (…) ”Many in the government of Ethiopia are convinced the Eritrean army may rebel against Isaias Afeworki and if they are convinced about Ethiopia’s disinterest of overrunning Eritrea then they may reform and establish a government of their own that is willing to live in peace with its neighbors” (Aigaforum, 15.06.2016).
If this is so the Eritrean should worry about a full-fledged war against them as they would even get support from the United Nations Security Council, the donor-countries and the ones that are funding the Ethiopian Peacekeepers around on the African Continent; these are the ones that are offering training and educating the army of Ethiopia.
Not confirmed reports are that Gen. Deriba Mokonene of Tserona Front, have deflected from the Ethiopian side to the Eritrean, but that might just be hearsay. As non-official report, while the Ethiopian officials have also addressed the claim of 200 dead soldiers from their side:
“they are entitled to delude themselves” Ethiopia’s senior military official sarcastically responded to Awramba Times without giving further explanation, on conditions of anonymity” (Awramba Times, 16.06.2016).
This here will not be silent for a while as the aggression and military activity continues, while the relentless differing allegations and reports will not be able to verify, just as it took two days before the Ethiopian and Eritrean governments answered the claims of military actions in Tserona Front and around the border of the countries.
Every single person losing their lives on both sides is a sad loss of life, as this is both in the names of arrogance and leadership from above high, as the President of Eritrea and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia are both responsible for the loss of life. This is can be start of a new prolonged conflict between the nations and the brothers. This can be fuelled by the few allies of Eritrea, or even the allies of Ethiopia, as they both have something to earn. Both none of the parties will really win, as they both will lose citizens and lose peaceful development through diplomacy and mutual understanding. Instead there is a continued bloodshed in the name of the leadership and the legacy of the Eritrean state and also the Ethiopian leadership. Peace.
