Opinion: Hemeti wants to act like a statesman…

The international community must take action now and intervene against the crimes of Sudanese General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, a radical Islamist who is bombing civilians from the air. His army is waging a brutal campaign against innocent people, bombing them with MiGs. We are fighting against radical Islamists who hope to keep Sudan isolated and in the dark, and far removed from democracy. We will continue to pursue Al-Burhan and bring him to justice. The fight that we are waging now is the price of democracy. We did not attack anyone. Our actions are merely a response to the siege and assault against our forces. We are fighting for the people of Sudan to ensure the democratic progress, for which they have so long yearned. We are taking every possible measure to ensure the safety and security of the people. We will not allow any harm to come to them, and we will do everything within our power to protect democracy and uphold rule of law in Sudan. We will prevail and achieve peace and stability” – Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo aka Hemeti (17.04.2023).

It isn’t hard to believe, but the Vice-Chairman of the Sovereign Council and Leader of the Rapid Support Force aka Janjaweed wants to be recognized as a statesman. General Hemeti wants to acknowledged and get all recognition. The man wants to be legitimized and get his “dues”.

Though in all sincerity. This man has gotten more than his fair share. Heck, his living beyond his means and gotten wealthy on the plights of others. The para-military leader has rose through the ranks. Eaten and murdered for a living. A man who has issued massacres, created internally displaced people and quelled rebellions for a living. He has been the perfect henchman and done so in the service of the President for Life, Omar Al-Bashir. That earned him credibility and respectability in his eyes. He did the dirty deeds of the Republic and he got benefits while doing so.

The General expanded the operation and not only worked in Darfur. He got the work to other states and later would also serve the nation in Yemen. The RSF even got enough heavy-weight that the European Union funded it and gave it money to stop refugees from flowing into Europe. That’s why Hemeti knows the value of the International Community and their allies. It can bring the Euros and Dollars a militia needs.

Hemeti wanted this coup d’etat so badly. He wanted to conquer and get Al-Burhan to beg on his knees. That’s all Hemeti wants… and he doesn’t mind deaths or murders. That’s been his mission of life and his business. The trade has been their lives for his wealth. The more bloodshed, the more currency in his pocket. That’s how he has earned a living and anyone expecting otherwise haven’t followed the lecture. This man is a warlord and a dangerous man.

Hemeti isn’t the friendly stranger, not a man you want to serve you or be your leader. No, he is cunning and waiting for the moment to strike. His anticipating weakness in the opponents and then he fires the guns. That’s what he did now and he thought he had the operational power to succeed. However, the longer time a coup attempt takes. The more likely it is to fail. The first 48 hours are vital and if the centre is holding. The coup is bound to fail and become a stalemate.

Because, Hemeti could fool the press and the world in the first few hours. RSF could act supreme and in-control for a hot minute. Nevertheless, the reality would soon hit then and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) would be able to retaliate. That’s the gist of things… the loss of Hemeti and his comrades. They are not coming in peace or democracy, but in a bloodthirsty vengeance for power. Peace.

Sudan: Coordinators of the Resistance Committees of the state of Khartoum – Important statement for the Sudanese people (16.04.2023)

We are not neutral, because we are in a peaceful battle since the era of the ousted Al-Bashir until now against the militarization of the country and the control of guns on the streets. We started with our peacefulness and we will continue with it to achieve our goals against all parties to the war now taking place in the streets of the country. Al-Burhan and Hemeti are enemies of the revolution and the revolutionaries. On its way, we will win, because we are against war and against any outcome that results from it. Both belligerents do not care about the security and safety of our people, so we call on them not to settle their scores among the innocent citizens.

– We ask the revolutionaries in the neighborhoods to arrange ranks in the current situation, and to prepare to provide the basic requirements of our people in their areas according to the current conditions.

We ask the resistance committees in each neighborhood to follow as they see fit:

Monitoring the situation on the ground and reporting what is happening in and around each neighborhood periodically to prevent rumors, and convey the facts as they are, in order to be a reliable source for our people.

Formation of medical rooms for possible injuries and in anticipation of any emergency.

Monitoring the conditions of food supplies in the neighborhood, especially with the possibility of prolonging the current war, and examining the conditions of our people in these difficult circumstances.

Monitoring the security situation in the neighborhood and ensuring that children and the elderly are kept away from the areas of clashes.

Raising the slogan #لا_للحرب and not responding to any calls for armament because it will lead us to civil war.

The only loser from the war is the people, so let’s unite to overcome it.

We call on civil and humanitarian society organizations, Red Crescent and Red Cross organizations, Doctors Without Borders, and the Preliminary Committee of the Sudan Doctors Syndicate to activate their role in aiding the wounded and injured, transferring them to safe places, and providing aids for the Sudanese people to overcome this ordeal.

– Finally, we have mercy on all the innocent citizens who fell dead, and we consider them martyrs with God Almighty, and we wish a speedy recovery for the injured and the safe return of the missing.

May God protect our people, the military is in the barracks and the Janjaweed are dissolving.

Sudan: Sudanese Congress Party – Statement No. 2 (16.04.2023)

Statement No. (2) on the security situation following the outbreak of bloody clashes between the Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces

We renew the call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a return to dialogue.

We call on both parties to the conflict to open safe passages for civilians.

our steadfast people;

The machine of killing and destruction continues to kill the daughters and sons of our people and shed Sudanese blood since yesterday morning, Saturday, October 15, 2023 AD, after the remnants of the defunct regime kindled the flames of discord and discord between the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces, as the areas of clashes expanded to include most of the cities of Sudan, more than sixty civilian martyrs and more than six hundred wounded according to preliminary statistics, this is from the non-military on both sides, and we expect that these numbers will far exceed what has been announced due to the state of complete paralysis in which the country is living and the difficulty of movement and careful monitoring.

We in the Sudanese Congress Party have mercy on the souls of the martyrs and send prayers for recovery to the injured civilians and military, and we repeat our call to the leaders of the People’s Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces to cease fire immediately, act as the voice of wisdom and reason, and give room for mediation efforts and resort to negotiation to resolve the existing conflict peacefully, the Sudanese blood that is bleeding from the civilians and the military is all precious, and the unity of the homeland and its soil is in the wind, and everyone loses in this conflict except for the remnants of the defunct regime, and we also call for the opening of safe corridors to deliver the injured and sick to hospitals and the passage of ambulances, and facilitating medical supply operations, and to the evacuation of many civilians stranded in various locations where fighting is raging, including patients, students, school students, female employees, and male and female employees, we also urge female and male citizens to move away from the areas of clashes, stay in their homes, and not risk leaving unless absolutely necessary.

We appeal to international institutions, human rights organizations and brotherly and friendly countries to actively contribute to stopping the fighting in Sudan and to work to push the two sides to resort to peaceful solutions, and to provide the required logistical support to the Sudanese people in these exceptional circumstances.

We believe that the resumption of the political process, leading to the signing of the final political agreement, would defuse the crisis, quell the fire of sedition, spare the blood of our people, and fulfill their aspirations for the establishment of a civil authority that would resume the path of civil democratic transformation.

Our people lived free and victorious

Sudan: The Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC) – Statement (16.04.2023)

Today, the battles that broke out since yesterday morning in various parts of the country between the Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces continue, and their pace is escalating in a way that threatens the unity, cohesion and sovereignty of the homeland.

We in the Forces for Freedom and Change have been sounding the alarm about the plans of the remnants of the defunct National Congress regime to drag the country into a war that will not leave or leave, with the aim of blocking the road to restoring the path of civil democratic transition, and here are their plans clearly revealed after igniting the fuse of the battle, to make it clear that they are the party that mobilized for this war and they are the ones who hope to harvest its results.

We call on the leadership of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the leadership of the Rapid Support Forces to arbitrate the voice of wisdom, stop military confrontations immediately, and return to the negotiating tables. The outstanding issues cannot be resolved by war, and the best option for our country is to address them peacefully through political solutions.

We also call on the masses of our people to confront the plans of the remnants of the defunct National Congress regime and not to allow them to be passed under any cover whatsoever, and to abandon hate speech, incitement and fueling war.

May God protect Sudan and its people from all evil

Sudan: 11 Union Bodies – Joint Statement (15.04.2023)

Our country stands today at a crossroads. After the setback of its promising revolution, its headline has become the security breakdown and arbitrary killing in several villages and cities, especially in the region of Darfur.

This has been accompanied by the country’s descent into open military confrontations between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, a war that will lead the country to chaos and threaten its existence if we do not stand firm against it and contain it.

The national capital, Khartoum, woke up this morning, Saturday, April 15, to the sound of gunfire and the buzzing of planes, and reports of civilian casualties. This imminent danger requires that those concerned call for a ceasefire from both sides and appeal to reason to stand firmly against the destructive plans that aim to abort the glorious revolution project and its ambition to transform the country into a democratic civil state of freedom, peace, and justice.

The phenomenon of deteriorating security began decades ago in the state of Darfur, South Kordofan, and the Blue Nile, and it would not have started at all if it were not for the Muslim Brotherhood coup and its insistence on tearing the country apart and humiliating its peaceful citizens. Now, this phenomenon has extended beyond that geographical scope to spread throughout the country.

The recent clashes in the Marawi area in the Northern State witnessed sharp tensions, leading to military confrontations due to the competition between the army and the Rapid Support Forces. These have been fueled by the surrounding regional influences that have become evident in the Sudanese scene, with the intervention of elements of the ousted regime through media mobilisation and work, apparent and hidden, to spread the message of hate.

This ongoing crisis is the result of the desire of many parties to maintain their dubious interests within Sudan. In Darfur alone, and during the past week, with the participation of cross-border groups, the region of Forbaranga was attacked, where 25 people were killed and thousands were displaced in addition to dozens of injuries. The region of Kundube in West Darfur witnessed the killing of six people. In North Darfur state, an armed militia attacked the area of Luwabid, 40 km from El Fasher, the capital of the state, where a bank vehicle was attacked, four employees were killed and the money (salaries) was seized, in addition to other incidents.

Sensing the national and moral responsibility, and what the national conscience dictates in this critical historical situation that the country is going through, many union bodies met in the headquarters of the Sudanese Journalists’ Union in Khartoum and agreed to confront attempts to create sedition and destabilise the country, and to stand against war, security breakdown, and impunity, hoping to take serious steps through which the voice of reason and wisdom prevails, and to defuse the crises and conflicts that have escalated.

Efforts will continue to discuss the crises, produce solutions, and call on all unions and civil bodies to undertake their role and participate in the responsibility of stopping the war and security breakdown.
