Cameroon: Hon. Kombi must be afraid of Buea(!!)

Professor Kombi is really a rare breed as he attended a award ceremony at Molyko Omnisport Stadium in Buea in the South West Region of Cameroon. As the runners finished a yearly peace march for hope in the civil-war torn region.

That Kombi was frighten and afraid of the area is evident. As he entered with a Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) or something similar. Kombi came as he needed an brigade and army to secure the stadium. That is how the regime is entering the region. Where they have sent mercenaries and soldiers, burning villages, killing civilians and also making towns into ghost towns. That is what the government does at the moment, while keeping the leadership of the Anglophone is behind bars or in exile. Therefore, the Minister of the Francophone had to arrive with the army. Because, if not, he would not feel safe.

This show how the regime is not coming in peace, but in war. As there ministers are coming with bullet-proof vests, armoured vehicles like all Anglophone citizens are terrorist, while the orders and decrees of violence comes from the Francophone regime. They are the ones that should silence the guns and stop the violence. Instead, they continue to harass and destroy this region, as they are called militants and terrorist, even if the state is the biggest supplier of terror.

Kombi should have come like a proud man, a man of honour, but instead he came like a scared and little man. Minister Kombi didn’t come with confidence or hope, but with nervousness and the freaking army.

Even if they we’re supposed to carry the peace tree and plant it. It cannot grow well, when you needs soldiers around you to get it to grow. It would have grown better, if the civilians actually could take care of it. Instead of being afraid in the bush and running away from burning villages. Peace.

Urgent support needed to respond to Humanitarian Needs in Cameroon (20.02.2019)

Renewed armed attacks have driven tens of thousands more Nigerians into Cameroon’s Far-North region, which already hosts 138,000 refugees.

YAOUNDE, Cameroon, February 20, 2019 – Humanitarian needs in Cameroon have risen by a third this year owing to an upsurge in insecurity and violence, leaving one in six people – mostly women and children – requiring assistance. Today we launch the 2019 Humanitarian Response Plan appealing for US$299 million to provide support to 2.3 million people.

“The humanitarian emergency in Cameroon must remain high on our agenda. We must step up efforts to meet the needs of the affected population, many of whom are surviving in deplorable conditions without assistance,” said Ms. Allegra Baiocchi. the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for Cameroon.

“In recent years, funding for humanitarian response has not kept pace with the needs. This means that we have been unable to provide enough food, water or medicine to vulnerable people, treat malnutrition or assist displaced families. This is very worrying as humanitarian needs are likely to continue growing in the coming months,” Ms. Baiocchi said.

In 2018, only 40 per cent of the $320 million needed for humanitarian assistance was received.

This year, around 4.3 million people need urgent assistance. Displacement has risen by 82 per cent compared with 2018. Renewed armed attacks have driven tens of thousands more Nigerians into Cameroon’s Far-North region, which already hosts 138,000 refugees. In North-West and South-West regions, worsening violence has uprooted 437,000 people and forced over 32,000 to seek refuge in neighbouring Nigeria. The East, Adamaoua and North regions host 275,000 Central African refugees.

“We acknowledge the scale of the humanitarian emergency and urge all actors to work with the Government to address the rising needs,” said MINAT. “We must also work together to not only ease the suffering of vulnerable populations, but to seek lasting solution for communities to withstand adversity.”

The crises arising from armed violence add to existing chronic vulnerabilities, including inadequate basic services, epidemics, food insecurity and malnutrition as well as the impact of climate change.

The 2019 humanitarian response plan focuses on providing immediate assistance to save lives, bolstering the protection of affected civilians, identifying risks and vulnerabilities to support the resilience of communities to shocks.

The 86 Year Old Dictator who are living life in opulence. He is living so lavish, that he seems more like a rock-star, than a President and Commander-In-Chief. What is more striking is how his running his government by decree and most of the time from a hotel far away in Switzerland. That he is today celebrating his birthday in ones of his mansions. As not special at all, as well as the spending and grandeur. Because, that is the only thing the old man has. Except for misuse of power, corruption and patronage into the insane.

That is why after the pyrrhic victory of last year and the recent demonstrations. The main opposition candidate in the recent election. Maurice Kamto and fellow comrades, 26 or such got arrested. Now, as we speak today, there has been revealed, that the former Presidential Candidate and Party leader of the MRC (Cameroon Renaissance Movement) have been charged in a military court for rebellion and 6 other counts too. Therefore, the President and his people are really silencing the opposition at this point.

Paul Biya don’t want to be questioned, as he eats his cake and spends the state reserves. He sends the armies in convoys, which are deadly in the anglophone region. Where the leadership of them are in confinement and detained in Nigeria. While they are awaiting their possible return to freedom in their own homestead. Which has been for a ten-day lockdown, which the state has not taken kindly too.

Even with this, the retaliation and the oppressive behaviour continues. Now, with the other opposition leaders of Biya taken behind bars. This time civilians are put in front of military courts, as they are officers and armed personnel who are brought to justice. The government are showing their impunity, as they are detaining Kamto, just like they have been with the detained leadership of Ambazonia. It is the same thing, just another branch of opposition leadership that is taken away. They are just mere casualties in the midst of clinging to power of Biya.

Kamto is the latest victim to the lack of governance, lack of rule of law and the totalitarian state, the tyranny of Biya. Which he feeds his energy from and what motivates him. Since, the killings, the scores of silent villages, the curfews, the messages of submission of the anglophone region continues. While, the media is suppressed, the opposition members and leaders are too. There are nothing that the President cannot touch and take away.

Kamto is just another one. A man who dared to challenge Biya and his patronage. A man who dared to question his legitimacy and rule. That are now costing. He is now a rebel, but with a cause. A cause to stand up against the evils of men. To stand up against those who trespasses and the power to do so.

That is what Kamto is doing, Julius Ayuk Tabe might await trail again in absentia, as him and the other fellows are awaiting justice and freedom. Now Kamto is awaiting the same treatment, as he went and aimed at the king. Peace.
