Opinion: POA is showing FDC’s arrogance

Patrick Oboi Amuriat, the Forum for Democratic Change president, Patrick Oboi Amuriat has offered to provide guidance to the National Unity Platform, based on the experience they have, as they take up leadership of the opposition in parliament. Speaking in Gulu, Amuriat also noted that the failure by NUP to appoint some of the FDC leaders with good leadership credentials citing Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda and Nathan Nandala Mafabi, was a bold move on the part of the National Unity Platform” (NTV Uganda, 30.05.2021).

On the 28th May 2021 the National Unity Platform revealed their Shadow Cabinet in the 11th Parliament. The first of the NUP as the Leaders of Opposition in Parliament. That’s has its merits and it’s questions.

The former Presidential Candidate of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Patrick Oboi Amuriat (POA) is now throwing shade against the appointments of the NUP. Yes, the FDC had added other opposition parties in their two recent shadow cabinets in 2011 and 2016. That is their prerogative and their decision to make.

However, the FDC has been on a war-path. They have used every single turn to assault and go after the NUP. There been no single day or moment… where there haven’t been headlines or snide comments toward the leadership of the NUP. This being from the gentlemen that the FDC wants to have in the shadow cabinet. The ones who has gone after the NUPs decision in general.

How does POA expect this to work? Talking all sort of shit and one of them even called the NUP snakes? Nandala-Mafabi said the NUP was working in the day against the NUP and in the evening seeking meal-tickets at the State House in the evening. How do you work with a gentlemen like that? Ssemujju Nganda have also been bruised and insinuating things as well… so why do they want to kiss and make-up now?

I don’t get it. The FDC supporters calling NUP amateurs and such too. While thinking the NUP should just give way. When the snide comments and the “disciplined” party supposed to be forgiven. What’s with the entitlement of the FDC?

POA should know all of this. The fallout is clear and there been no positive meetings between the parties since the General Election. There been no proof of care or concern. The FDC asks for unity when its in their favour, but not when its concern of everyone else. The FDC did things nicely in 2016 and 2011. In 2016 they appointed 7 DP MPs and in 2011 they had MPs from the UPC, DP; JEEMA and independent. However, that was the decision of FDC as the biggest opposition party.

That the NUP have done another choice and only appointed one JEEMA MPs in 2021. This is their decision. Secondly, the FDC and the ones mentioned haven’t been friendly towards the NUP. So, how do you expect the NUP to give way and be humbled like that?

If the FDC and POA wanted the NUP to have appointees. Why not participate in the proposed meeting over the Leader of Opposition? The letter was sent out and the FDC wasn’t concerned about that. Neither has the FDC or anyone in the FDC Secretariat even cared about the United Forces for Change (UFC). It seems to just be a empty document with no flair.

The FDC needs to carry its own weight now. Take responsibility. The lecturing of NUP is getting old. Just because your the previous biggest opposition party over a decade. Doesn’t give you any automatic points or reflection of offices within the shadow cabinet. Especially, when all your acts are backfiring. There is no signals of positivity or acts of talks, which could have resolved this and given incentives to make it happen.

We now know that didn’t happen and there been instead a steady quotes of insults and arrogant mannerisms. Which will create a space for working together or even become a opposing opposition. There is no signs of unification or even working towards the same goals. As the parties are significantly different in ways of moving ahead. The FDC who is supposed to be mature here could have acted differently, but that’s too much to ask.

The NUP is just supposed to be lectured, humiliated and take it on the chin. While later supposed to drop the grudges and work as a team. How can they phantom this in the FDC? Would they have accepted that and just showing mercy without any proof of friendliness? Who are they kidding?

That’s what infuriate me. When POA in Gulu speaking like this. It doesn’t matter how bright or smart the fellow MPs are. They have played this one out and didn’t showed any concern before the appointees was announced. They are just entitled now and expected to be thought of. Well, show some humility and act civil. Not just be snide and attack. Then later wonder why they don’t want to talk to you or work with you.

It is like when your kid in a sandbox. The one is building a sandcastle and the other is destroying it. Later the one destroying it, wonders why the fellow kid in the sandbox doesn’t want to play together. That’s because the other kid is hurt by destruction of his sandcastle. That’s what the FDC has been preoccupied with doing… and now they say their hurt for not being considered. That’s foolish, but shows their arrogance at this point. Peace.

Opinion: The NUP validates the ‘Rigged’ Election

The National Unity Platform and its allies are in-directly finalizing the ‘rigged’ election by appointing the shadow government with the Leader of Parliament Mathias Mpuuga. Mpuuga is a highly regarded opposition MP and is a staunch critic of the state. A man who knows his words and his actions. A man who has been on the “battlefield” for years and who has seen the devastation the state is delivering its dissidents. Therefore, a fine lad to be the LOP. However, they are committing the same sins of the predecessors.

The NUP is just like the FDC in 2016. They have the results, the rigged tally the burden or the price of the horrendous affair called the General Election. Where the state secured the bag and took it all. Where they have the majority and the President. Even though, everyone with a sound mind knows this game was rigged and the ruling regime took the power with blunt force. They do not have the love or the popularity to rule with such a margin. However, all the tricks made has made this possible.

So now today, just as the 11th Parliament is starting and the President yet to announce his cabinet for this term. The NUP have appointed the shadow government, indefinitely validating the results and “moving on”. They are taking the second loser position and allowing the heist. That is the initial act done today. Just like it was when Mugisha Muntu and Winnie Kiiza accepted the loss and took the grounds in Parliament after the resounding heist in 2016.

The only difference is that it isn’t the FDC this time, but the newcomer NUP who does it. The 11th Parliament have a majority NRM and they will have little to no say. They are pawns on the chess-set and the state is giving small handouts to trickle things in. How do you think that only 15 FDC MPs voted for their own for speaker? Shouldn’t they have been loyal to the party?

Well, they should have, but maybe the NRM made another preposition or if not gave them a offer they couldn’t refuse. So, in this regard, the NUP should be careful. When seeing how other parties have navigated this. The regime will use every excuse and maligned them. That’s why risking this now is dangerous. When a established party like the FDC can look so foolish at this stage. What do you think the NUP can be doing later?

Mpuuga got a hustle ahead of him. He is validating a rigged election and swallowing the tears of the oppressed. He is doing so with caution, but he shouldn’t rest assured. Mpuuga should know the consequences of doing this and so should the party as well. They are playing the same game like the ones before.

So, it makes it harder to be a hardliner, when you are eating and accepting titles of defeat. They are saying that they are giving up the race and rallying along the state. The NUP and the opposition are going back-to-normal and scheduled programming. Instead of using their might and power to stifle the process. It could be risky, but if you don’t dare… you don’t get to light up the place either.

The just succumb to the same pressure that the FDC has done. They have been running wild and telling stories, the NUP dropped the report during this month, but is not using it for anything. It is just a document and not getting the credibility it deserves. It is just another foiled enterprise. Instead of going head-on.

The NUP is already paying a high price. The NUP is already targeted, their people are still behind bars, abducted and killed. They are under fire, but these people losing their lives so things goes to status quo seems tragic. They have lost everything and we go back to the setting of 2016 but with another banner behind it. That’s the change and the difference…

The LoP isn’t FDC, but is a NUP. That is the change. The shadow cabinet is all NUP, instead of FDC. Though, we are at the same place and with the same order as after the general election in 2016. Only with a lot of lives in jeopardy, a lot of people abducted and a lot civilians as political prisoners. That’s the vast difference.

The NUP had their chance, it would cost. Just as it could have cost FDC in the past. Though, none of them dared to do it. They didn’t dare to go that far and put their titles in jeopardy. Because, that is going to far. One needs the Parliament to run as normal…

Sigh… shish… Peace.

National Unity Platform (NUP): Press Release (28.05.2021)

Opinion: The NUP should emulate the EFF in the 11th Parliament

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) came into existence after former African National Congress Youth League (ANC-YL) Leader Julius Malema was axed there. He created his own party in 2013 and came into the Parliamentary Election in 2014 like fire-brand politician. That’s a position he has kept ever since.

The National Unity Platform (NUP) and their Members of Parliament (MPs) should study the EFF of South Africa. They should consider their “assault” and their vindictive attitude towards the procedures and protocol. As the NUP no matter what it does. It will reflect bad on them. They are in a battle they cannot win. They have a minority, even if they are the leaders of opposition.

With those seats and with the MPs they do have. They should interrupt, sing songs and walk-out of plenary sessions. The NUP can be as vile and rude as the EFF. Since, we all know the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has no concern for the opposition. They can use Special Force Command (SFC) to silence MPs in Kololo and easily do it again.

That’s why Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine should get some notes and some experience from Malema. He should really call him and get some guidance. So, that he can gather his MPs at his home in Magere, Wakiso district and give them a heads-up. If not have a sessions and meetings with them ahead of the plenary session.

The NUP needs to this sort of play. Since the playing around the games of the ruling regime isn’t helping anyone. The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has had more power and sway when they have used defiance and demonstrations for their causes. The same is what the NUP needs ahead. To forge a game-plan and even take inspiration of the EFF.

That is my advice. Call Malema, look into the history of the EFF and do the bidding of them in a Ugandan way. Take the noise, the walk-outs and the singing. Show disregard for the National Assembly. Risk everything and loose out. Show the general public that your a stark contrast to the ruling party. That your different and radical. Not only wearing a red beret, but showing resilience in-action.

This should motivate the 57 NUP MPs … they should see the results of the EFF, which has grown in strength since 2013. Malema has been able to build a steady party. Just like he was able to grow his national standing in the ANC-YL. Bobi Wine should follow this and do that his own way. Though, there is nothing wrong with learning from others experience.

Especially, when people starting to judge and go by default on the voting of yesterday’s speakership race. That is why not only out of a publicity standpoint, but a factor of showing difference from the ruling regime. The newcomer and the contrast to NRM needs to be shown.

I hate to say this, but the diplomatic and playing by the rules of the FDC haven’t helped the cause. They have had their time and it hasn’t had a big pay-off. They have built a strong party in the middle of oppression and it’s commendable. However, they have not gone from strength to strength.

Bobi Wine and the NUP can forge another way now for them and for the Parliament. They need to chase loud dissent and even suspensions. If they follow this path… there will inquires and commissions. Some public outcry, but also proof of how stupid the government is. As the investigations and reports will prove why the NUP acted like it did. That can most likely show what the NRM wants to keep a secret. That’s the smart move of this and something that’s needed.

The NUP should see what happened around the kicking out of MPs in concern to the Age Limit saga. That is the last time violence, attack on the Parliament and the dark truth of how the state is run. This is the reality and it won’t get better.

The President and his team is running the state with an iron fist. The army and Special Force Command can easily entertain another round of violence in the national assembly. This is why the NUP needs to address the situation differently. They cannot the same procedure and protocol like its predecessors. Especially, if it wants to prove a difference.

Because, if it’s run and mediocre. If they are just vindictive and relentless, than they will not go anywhere. There is a need for plan and stage this ahead. Be one item and team who causes havoc in the plenary sessions. They need to cause fury and rage. To prove where everything is wrong with this system. That is how they can humiliate and show the reality to the world. Peace.

Opinion: Nandala-Mafabi better question his own credibility before he questions others

We cannot work with people who are opposition in daytime but at night they are different. They sneak to state house and make deals with the junta”Nathan Nandala-Mafabi (20.05.2021)

The Secretary General of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Nathan Nandala-Mafabi better relax and gets his ducks in row before he goes after National Unity Platform (NUP). The former Leader of Opposition and trying to be front runner of FDC. Nandala-Mafabi who haven’t had the ability to become Party President. The man who nearly started his own farmers party, but saw no traction for it. So, he returned back to the FDC.

That man better check his own credibility before he addresses NUP MPs. The NUP haven’t even had a second in the Parliament. Before he throws them shade. This being a man who has had two terms at least in office and he should be careful. He has enough questionable attributes and actions in the past. This man should know better. However, pride and ego is a dangerous field.

Just these things says a lot about him.

President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), yesterday received and welcomed Mr. Moses Kisolo, a Personal Assistant to the leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi, who crossed from the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and joined the NRM Party” (Statehouse.go.ug – ‘Hon. Mafabi’s Aide crosses to NRM’ 10.04.2012).

Magurara in a series of email replies accuses Nandala Mafabi of liking to create ‘controversies’ to bring bad publicity to the party, which benefits the ruling NRM regime of President Museveni. The aging Mugarura also makes reference to the manner in which Maj. Rubaramira Ruranga who chaired Nandala’s anti-Muntu campaigns last time defected to NRM and implies there is a rumor Nandala may follow suit in case he loses to Muntu again. Mugarura warns Nandala to tread carefully “unless you want some of us to begin taking the rumor seriously.”” (Faridah Nassereka – ‘Nandala Mafabi ‘spying for Museveni’ FDC boss reveals’ 29.06.2017, thelocal.ug).

Members of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) rapped their secretary general for attending Independence Day ceremonies in Sironko district. FDC say it passed a resolution barring its members from attending events presided over by President Museveni” (Independent.co.ug – ‘FDC blasts Nandala Mafabi over Museveni’ 20.10.2019).

This is just the little drip drops of things between NRM and the FDC Secretary General. Nandala-Mafabi should be more careful. Just like he should be careful getting into scandals over land, business-roles or even connections to Chinese Telecoms. This man has enough leverage and operating roles to become corrupt. He could easily be bought and lose his values over businesses-dealings.

The FDC man can throw shade and speak his peace, but a man of that stature should be more worried about his own standing. Than looking into the newcomer and the new opposition. Who happens to be the command party of the opposition in this term. The FDC has had their time to shine and make a difference on this. Now, there is a newcomer who has more power and seats in the 11th Parliament. That must hurt the pride of him. As well, as seeing former allies failing in Alliance for National Transformation (ANT). The ones he said he wouldn’t miss in the FDC.

Therefore, Nandala-Mafabi isn’t showing progress, but regress when he speaks ill of the ones he needs to work with. If he wants to be true opposition and not a possible tool of NRM within the opposition.

In August 2017, he said this about himself, which is what he directed at NUP today:

I have heard some people say that Nandala was bought by Museveni to kill FDC. Those saying that, even their mothers cannot vote FDC. They just play on our blood…. During day, they are FDC and at night they are NRM. Even the fuel they put in their cars is NRM. Even the money they eat is NRM. Some of them use others as conduits to get NRM money” (Nandala-Mafabi, 18.08.2017),

He uses the same narrative here. Therefore, what is his deal and what does he want to achieve? Why is he saying the same thing about others? When he has had the same issue for years? Shouldn’t he be supporting, instead of saying the same things about others?

Does he have the credibility to question the NUP before they are even getting through the door and getting into office. Shouldn’t he be more careful and more insightful. As he has been within reach of power and a MP for so long. Nandala-Mafabi should know better, but clearly he doesn’t. He could be a wise elder and be a man who enlighten the newcomers in opposition. Instead he goes into combat-mode and not trying to give them a olive branch.

Not that I expect Nandala-Mafabi to be expressive and friendly to the NUP. He could be cordial and try to talk. Not dismiss them before they even say a thing in the 11th Parliament. That is insincere and shows his discontent. That he cannot handle the changes of power and popularity. This shows the lack of character and trust in others. Because, they are not accountable to him or the FDC, but they are liable to NUP and their leadership. Therefore, the opposition leader should sit down and talk.

Especially, when he has all these issues of the past and throwing shade. Maybe his still sour that he never got appointed as the Chairman of Bank of Uganda (BoU). Who knows, but this isn’t it and he should know better. Peace.

Opinion: Do you expect an old man to save the youth?

I hate to say this… am not an ageist or anything. Usually, you age or career, the wisdom and the knowledge gotten over the years would be a positive. In most cases the wisdom of an elder is more valuable than the short-term gains of a quick pay-off. However, in this case it abundantly clear that this old man doesn’t care about the growing citizens or their needs.

This man in question in Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni. He will not dwell on that a second. Him and his allies will only care if their pockets are getting deeper or someone else is covering the bills. This man will not stand on the barricades for the ghettoes, the youths and the unemployed. No, he rather re-open the same factory and promise an industrial revolution. This man rather create white-elephants of food-processing or Juice-Factories across the Republic. Than actually do something sustainable.

Museveni have done the drill. He has dismantled commissions, national entities and he has profited. If not his allies have and they are loyal to him for it. They have misused ministries, tenders and created ghost enterprises. The whole charade will continue until his reign is over. The ones closely associated and “investors” will be pulled in by the grand corruption and the possible kickbacks. They will not be there for “development” or create a unique business. No, they are there because they know they will earn a quick buck without putting in the work. It is that is.

With that sort of regime and entitlement. With that sort modus operandi. Who thinks this man will save anyone else? He has let other die in his stead, but he has not come to the rescue of those who carried him at his weakest. This man have never returned a favour and only tried to compromise the ones he could get into the fold. He just want to ensure loyalty to him and not to further his supposed project.

No, this revolutionary was only in it for himself and used the “liberation” war as ploy to get wealth. He is fraud and fake with a lot of arms and fire-power. Not denying that and that what gives him the reign still. Not because he created a society or a policies which is fuelling hope. No, that boat have been sinking for years.

The state have delivered the same sort of monetary gains schemes, which is supposed to produce massive wealth and riches on the hustling economy. It is supposed to make farmers, cow-herders and charcoal salesmen into multi-millionaires within this method. However, there is little to no proof of this. Neither is many of these schemes are also supposed to secure the livelihoods and improve the cash-crops and profitable rural economy. This has been done with little to mediocre success. While the state has pushed similar things all along.

President Museveni will not save the youth and the unemployed. They are just useful tools to keep the oppression and keep the citizens hungry enough to worry about the next meal. Instead of wanting to fight or create a revolution to bring him down. This sort of play is also securing multi-national organization, the UN Organizations and others to cover from the misgivings of the state. So, that he doesn’t have to make proper and strong institutions to carry these things. The shortfall and lacks will be covered by aid, donor-funds or loans from IMF/WB/AfDB. That is just how things goes…

Museveni… will not save the youths as his ageing. He has less of reasons to care or even create real opportunities now. He has had 35 years to produce and haven’t done that until now. That train has left the station and now way it’s returning.

President Museveni promises to “Secure Your Future” and “Steady Progress” but he will not deliver either of this. Just like all the other promises. They are “hot air” and the up-coming generation, the previous ones and only a marginal elite have found some sort way to get promoted in this system. Just like the entitled few who has been anointed or was a part of the National Resistance Army (NRA). They are the ones who get the perks and the deals. The others get breadcrumbs, if they really that lucky even.

So don’t believe the hype… he will not be saviour but only be more sinister and more horrific as his gotten used to get away with murder. Peace.

A look into the “Rigged” Report [the 11th May 2021 Edition]

Today was the day of the 7th Swearing-In Ceremony of President Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni. The 6th Ceremony held at Kololo Independence Ground and the 6th Ceremony of this kind held on the 12th May in the election year. Well, the President has now concluded this election.

Though I will dig into the important material in the Report released called “Rigged” which was published with a new edition yesterday. Dr. Nico Schoonderwoerd with acknowledgements to Bruce I. Afran and Robert Kyagulanyi and the National Unity Platform (NUP) for certain aspects of the report, which was in the original published on the 17th March 2021.

I will look through and drop my notes on the matter in between the pieces of information. Which say a lot about the conducted elections of January 2021. I will not look into the voter intimidation and bribery. Neither address the senseless violence, impunity and misuse of the authorities in favour of the regime. That I have discussed in length in other articles. Here I feel the “head-shot” or the “winning ticket” is the ballot box stuffing and Post DoR Fraud.

I will begin with this quote:

In the various regions we see the different types of rigging being applied in a different way.

In most cities it was difficult to stuff the ballot-boxes, so the effect of voter intimidation becomes more clear. Gulu City shows how enormous the intimidation was up north, as is supported by the statements in our Chapter on the North. Ballot box stuffing is indicated by high turnout & high percentage of Museveni votes. In the top right of the diagram (courtesy Melina Platas) we do not only see Western districts, but also Northern districts such as Amudat” (Schoonderwoed, P: 9, 2021).

There are now saying that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the President lost Baganda (Central Region) in this election. However, by the state of things. The evidence coming forward proves only that the results there are more close the reality. As the rigging was as extensive as in the other regions. This means, they deliberately gave up a part and knew the rigging elsewhere would secure the victory anyway.

A very interesting finding of the rigging was the finding on page 57, which says:

Since the ‘election fingerprint’ of these 3 elections is similar to the fingerprints identified as fraudulent by Peter Klimek et al we can apply their conclusion that the Ugandan elections results of 2011, 2016 and 2021 do not represent the will of the people. When the authors designed these fingerprints they assumed that the numbers would always be between 0 and 100. However, in fraud every number is possible. Although the tally sheets do not show any turnouts of over 100% (it’s prevented by the software), an inspection of the Declaration of Results (DoR) forms show that in many cases of ballot box stuffing ‘overstuffing’ took place and the DoR form shows more ballots casted than registered voters” (Schoonderwoed, P: 57-58, 2021).

This here just shows the algorithm and the difference numbers through the process of counting the ballots doesn’t add up. There are more casted ballots than registered voters. That is just the proof of the misgivings of this election and how it was predetermined. When this sort of malpractice is securing one man to “win”.

The main contributor to the rigging of these elections was ballot box stuffing. 409 polling stations across Uganda saw a 100% voter turnout, which is impossible give that the voter register is fixed 10 months before the elections. A total of 1333 polling stations had a voter turnout of 90% and according to election experts that is not possible under free & fair elections. Scientific research is presented in the form of election fingerprints that show that the correlation of high voter turnout and high Museveni scores is typical for rigged elections such as in Uganda and Russia” (Schoonderwoed, P: 76, 2021).

This here shows the proof and the systematic rigging. This is just the technical aspect of it. Not all the other techniques used, which is important, but the end-game of any election is the numbers-game. Where the winner takes all and the majority matters. An rigged election just needs the numbers, but not the true will of the general public or the voters. That is the gist of it.

A nation wide comparison of DoRs collected by UVote and official tally results show over 120 polling stations where the DoRs were illegally changed or fraudulent. One such DoR for the Nebbi Anyang polling station received international attention after the Electoral Commission denied that 84 Kyagulanyi votes were changed into 8 Kyagulanyi vote” (Schoonderwoed, P: 77, 2021).

This here is just a final one and shows the acts being made by the state to ensure another term for the incumbent. There was not other way to see this. The “Rigged” Report is very clear and addresses the significant actions made and what it resulted in.

We know today that it went into as usual, that every five years Museveni swears himself in at Kololo Independence Grounds on the 12th May of the election year. That happened today because of the “legitimacy” the recent election gave him. Though the Report shows that he stole and bashes himself in glory of rigging an election. That is really tragic, but the Report also states facts many of us has said. That this regime rigged the 2011 and 2016 as well and the ‘election fingerprint’ evidence shows that.

So, if people are saying “Museveni is not my President”. I understand them. This election is yet another one he rigged to rule supreme. He doesn’t have the love of the people, but is elected by the algorithm, ghosts and goats, not voters as he should have been. However, that is not important when you value guns, arms and heavy weaponry over the public. That is why the Report is important to show the way the regime did it and prove it to the whole world to see. Peace.

7th Time the “charm”: The 12th May 2021 ceremony is no real celebration

What is happening today on the 12th May 2021 is the seventh ceremony of this one man. He is celebrating himself “winning” for the 7th time. They are saying his 6th Term, but I say it’s his 8th term because of the decade without any election, which should be counted as well. That is only fair to the general public who had to live through the “transitional” period with President Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni with no polls, election or awaiting a new Constitution.

He took power on the 26th January 1986 and he got sworn-in on the 29th January 1986. The 2nd time was after the “no” party election in 1996. When he was sworn-in on the 12th May 1996. The 3rd time started again on the 12th May 2001. The 4th time was on the 12th May 2006. The 5th time was on the 12th May 2011. The 6th Time was on the 12th May 2016 and now the final edition of this was in full effect.

That’s why this is his seventh time and it has been traditionally held at Kololo Independence Grounds. Which is happening today too. He has clearly scheduled the 12th May every five years since 1996. That is steady programming and the venue is the same too. The only difference is the guests and the year it’s happening in. The VIPs and the speeches might differ a little bit, but not much because its the same genie out of the bottle every time.

If you think this term will be any difference than before. You are out for a loss of words and proper conclusions. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the same President of the ages. Who never seems to get things done or able to fix his bottlenecks.

The same man who has said all the rights things, but that is all lies to keep himself in office. He knows perfectly well that he has betrayed those words and those policies too. This Presidency will not get better. It will only become more horrific and deprecating. There will be no nice silver-lining ahead. Only if you have some false hope that the oil money will be able to pay the rising debts. Than you are living on hope and not reality. As this President and his cronies eats everything else up and sends the bill to the next generation.

That is why you shouldn’t look forward or think he will make a difference. This man has produced fancy plans, policies and papers for development, but that can only happen if donors, aid organizations or multi-national organizations paying the bill of doing so. That’s why every piece of gravel or road is hugely overpriced to cover cronies and kickbacks for every single kilometre they cover. This will not … be better now and his been of the hook for so many years.

Just like with the militarization, impunity and anti-democratic actions, which is happening on the regular. Where the opposition and dissidents are hunted down. There is no wiggle room for their existence and the laws are applied to them. Sometimes on random and the state is detaining people without even charging them, abducting them and keeping them incommunicado. Therefore, this Presidency will not be better. He will only continue to unleash the beasts and drones to go after the ones who dares to support someone else than him.

So, today isn’t a day of celebration. It is a day of ceremonial burial of freedom, liberty and justice. The state and the President is celebrating a 1980 Election Victory, again!

He is repeating the same sins and not repenting anything. His just hoping its all water under the bridge. That we are supposed to forget all the lives taken so he can rule supreme. We are supposed forget all the lives kept without due process, the lives put on hold and the ones living in exile. That is all so one MAN can rule indefinitely. This is tragic, but the reality here. Peace.

Opinion: Museveni proves one thing “If you live by the gun … you will die by the gun too”

What is happening tomorrow on the 12th May 2021 is occurring because of what he did all the way to the 26th January 1986. That is the celebration of his “sixth” election victory. Though we all know he has used the same tricks as the ones toppled to stay in power. The elections are mirroring and copying the 1980 election, which was the reason for the civil war in the 1980s.

That is why it’s really special that the arrogance and entitlement of a big bash, 4,000 people at the Kololo Independence Grounds. In the end of a campaign and a year, which has made it nearly impossible for people to gather or campaign. Where the authorities have blocked rallies, campaign meetings, concerts and other public gatherings. Therefore, it is really a show of power to do it at this day.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni came into power by the gun. He didn’t come in as the elected fella. No, he had to topple and get rid of his opponents. Museveni didn’t win people’s heart, but was able to destroy, hurt and harm the leadership of Kampala over years. That was done in a “liberation” war, which only freed him and anointed allies. The rest have to accept the idea of a limited freedom, liberty and justice. They just have to bite the dust and live with the impunity and injustice served on the daily. That’s because they are not part of the clientele and the cronies who serves the President well.

At this point and time we can give up the idea of a peaceful transition. The dreams of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and National Unity Platform (NUP) isn’t happening with Museveni. No, he came in with the guns and will only leave with them. There are only three avenues to his end and it’s not through the ballot-box. Any election held within the spectrum of Museveni will be rigged and an run in a manner, which will resemble the 1980 fiasco.

So, there are just three ways out. These are the first and the obvious one is that he has to die. Death. That means his heartbeat stops and his last breathe is finally done. The natural death of ageing… and it is inevitable. Everyone living will at one point die and then there will be a battle to fill the power vacuum. That will be horrific days and possible new atrocities, if not another military takeover for a “Transitional” Government supported for “stability” sake. Which is just a mere lie and will only prolong the agony of the citizens wanting a true civilian government.

The second is an assassination or a coup d’etat. Neither how this is happening. They have to go against the militarization of the Presidency and Government will make this hard. Unless, there is getting people disgruntled and feeling disfranchised by the regime. If the armed forces, security organizations and such feels they are taken care off. As if the state stops paying them off and starving them. Then they might turn on the President, but that is all just mere speculation at this point. This is ruling by the bullet and dying by the bullet. This is a General falling for another General. That is the ultimate betrayal, but is one way out… and will cause even a more totalitarian state. As it will be less forgiving as well.

The third solution is the revolution. That has been described by Dr. Kizza Besigye on many occasions. He has deliberately tried to spark this off. He has tried to get the people to revolt and demonstrate. The defiant man has tried to get people organized and boycott. Besigye have tried to educate the public on how the dismantle the system. Hurt it where it matters and get the feet on the ground. However, he has been close and shown that he could boost the public. Nevertheless, the politician and opposition couldn’t get it passed the finishing-line. He couldn’t get the state loose its strength and control. It was hurt, but not totally damaged and weak.

The defiance and walk to work was forceful, but lacked the final push to end the curse of the misrule and mismanaged state of Museveni. It couldn’t stop his oppression and his atrocities.

Museveni has lasted because of relations to the guns. His clinging to power to arms and security organizations. He has armed personnel and police officers ready on the go. There are people able and ready to kidnap, abduct, torture and get rid of his enemies. The state is doing this willingly to keep Museveni in power.

That is why Museveni will be a warlord and continue this life of never begging, but carrying a canon. This is why you either have to end it the way it started or show the force of the whole general public against him. The whole population have to rise onto levels like the Sudanese did to Omar Al-Bashir. That’s what is needed to be done to get rid of him. The will haven’t been there, but if it happens.

It will be like lightning and the thunder will hurt him. He will loose everything. Because, even a tyrant and a dictator cannot hold everyone captive. The Head of State cannot kill, arrest and abduct everyone. He can do that to a minority and to levels of society, but not to the ranks of cities, towns and whole districts standing up against the state. That is what needed and they need to stand-up. It will cost. Just like the ones who are already paying for their activism and trying to campaign against him. There are so many victims already and families scorn for decades, because one needed to rule for life.

Those guns and those weapons will only keep you there for so long. When he looses all momentum and there is hope for proper fundamental change of guards. That has never happened with Museveni. His still keeping lingering without anything like the peasants he “freed” in the 1980s. There is still so many educated people not getting jobs and so fourth. The state Museveni will leave behind will have plenty of the same misgivings as the ones he promised to fix. That says more about Museveni, than it says about the Republic itself. This is because of how he became the personification of the state and never let go. The “high above” and the one deciding people’s fate from the State House.

Museveni will not be remembered for freeing the people, but keeping them hostage, because of his powerful guns. Peace.

Opinion: Deo Akiiki, who is the new President?

“We, therefore, want to assure Ugandans that the country will be at peace as the new president is being sworn in” (Deo Akiiki, 10.05.2021).

Apparently, we are in for a shocker. As the opposition is either behind bars, house-arrested, abducted, kept incommunicado or tortured as well. The Defence Spokesperson Deo Akiiki is speaking out and promising a “new president” on the “d-day” or 12th May 2021.

Uganda has been waiting for a new President for ages. They have this one guy that never wants to leave office. The Republic has this one old man that seems to linger on forever. He seems to be busy burying his enemies. If not hoping he can compromise and corrupt the weak one among the opposition. That old man is the one who will have hold a massive ceremony again.

Still, Deo said this. He said it twice during his presser ahead of the Swearing-In.

The UPDF under the Joint Security architecture on national security has strengthened its support to civil authority as mandated by law in a bid to ensure that the country, the function of inauguration and swearing in of the new president is safe and secure for both nationals and international guests invited to grace the same” (Deo Akiiki, 10.05.2021).

We are all awaiting for the new president. There been several of candidates aiming for that since 1996, but none has been able to get there. The system, the authorities and the state itself have worked hard to make it impossible to happen. It is nearly impossible to even overturn or try to challenge a Presidential Election Petition. That’s because the state and the his handlers have made it nearly impossible to prove the rigging.

That’s why the people is awaiting a new president. Not rebranding the same old fella of 1986. He was new in the 1990s but we are 20 years from that even. Museveni isn’t new, but he has a new middle name since last election: Tibuhurwa. He always comes with a new name. That is why he has gone from Yoweri Musevei, to Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to the final Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni.

So, with every name-change… his still the same man who overthrow his predecessors in the 26th January 1986 coup d’etat after a long civil war. Therefore, Deo is promising a new president. Which we will not see. Not after this D-Day… no no no …. it is just the same old fellow from around the way. Not a new breed or the hope of the future. No, just the same old same old man who is using the army and the guns to stay in power.

Because Museveni isn’t anything new. He is the status quo and the continuation of the same. There isn’t anything he can do at this point. The old man cannot reinvent himself. He can only continue to lie to himself and deceive the whole Republic. President Museveni will not make a fundamental change now. That time has passed and he will not reconsider that now.

Therefore, we are all wondering who is the new President? Because it’s not Museveni. Neither is it Besigye since wasn’t running in January 2021. Maybe he is initially saying Bobi Wine should be sworn-in, but then his going against his master. Deo is maybe thinking that Museveni is “new” because of his new term. However, Museveni is far from new.

I will end with Matthew 9:17: “Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved” (New International Version).

The same can be said about Museveni. This lesson from the bible is relevant and maybe Deo should check it out too. Peace.
