Re-Return of DCI Athumani: His either a magician or a bouncing ball!

President John Magufuli was sworn-in on the 5^th November 2015 months before DCI Diwani Athumani Msuya was appointed into the position of DCI. This was a roll-over of personnel, which is natural in the civil service. That Athumani was someone that Jakaya Kikwete had vetted and ensured he was fit for the job. However, with the scandals ringing with ivory trade, the President wanted to show some finesse and re-assigned him after 1,5 years after the appointment and 11 months into the Presidency.

What is unique, is the way his name been ringing and having various of high ranking officials. What I wonder about, is how his gone from not being good enough, to get re-appointed for the same job. That is just weird, if the President thinks people forget.

A short story a re-return:

Diwani Athumani Msuya was appointed to the position of Director of Criminal Investigations in May 2015, by the previous President Jakaya Kikwete. In late October 2016, the current President John Magufuli fired him and gave him a new position. When he was three weeks later appointed Kagera Regional Administrative Secretary (RAS). A position he kept to until 6^th September 2018, he got appointed the Director General of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB). A position he kept of a year, as he was re-appointed today on the 12^th September 2019, as the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI).

Clearly, Magufuli cannot make his mind up concerning this fella. Since, his a bouncing ball, who bounces everywhere as the President see fit. That is natural as the President has the powers to appoint and assess the needed personnel. Therefore, the his either a failure or a clean-up guy. Who the President sends around to various of places to fix things. If not the President is taken the public for fools.

Since, there is always speculations, when someone fires or revokes an appointment of the predecessor to a vital position in the Republic. Surely, he must have swift finger and a magical touch. That must be true, as Athumani haven’t been long in any institution since appointed DCI the first time. His been in positions for close to a year at every office. That is very short time to know protocol, know the station and the duties of this office. Therefore, his either a magician or a whipping boy of the President.

I cannot figure that out. Since, he moves so swiftly. His not in a steady place, because the President offers him new offices and new work. The instability and erratic behaviour of the President is surely mocking him. If the President honoured him and his place in the Republic. He would have given him to succeed as the DCI.

So for me there is something else. There something missing, but I cannot touch it, because I don’t have the missing piece of the puzzle. Peace.

Opinion: The CCM must be weak since it targets Tindu Lissu!

“All cruelty springs from weakness.” – Seneca

In the United Republic of Tanzania, the grand state of Julius Nyerere and CCM. The opposition in a position, where their every move is monitored, where their every act has to be approved and nearly all utterings in public has to verified before published.

So in this world, the bulldozer, the dozing off and afraid individual President Joseph Magufuli exists. Where he has ushered in several of rules making it harder for the opposition to run their parties and even try to compete with the CCM. The state has a stranglehold on them and is chocking them by all means. To say otherwise is to be naive by all the codes, legislation and by the measures put in place by His Excellency and his brigade of loyal subjects.

That is why there are certain individuals who are getting a joint effort to undermine and silence them. One being Zitto Kabwe, the other giant in the opposition is Tindu Lissu, whose survived an assassination attempt and since then gotten treatment in Europe. For two whole years he has fought and doing what he can heal, by also giving words and telling where he is to the Parliament. Still, the same Parliament this June, called for By-Election for his Singida East Seat. Because, the Speaker claimed they didn’t know about his whereabouts. They take his healing from an assassination as a joke or what?

That is a friendly reminder, that the CCM doesn’t take kindly to opposition nor to opposition figures like Lissu. They are afraid of what he represents and what his messages is. That is why the quick call by the National Election Commission for by-election by 31^st July, a short month after the Speaker called his seat up for elections on the 28^th June 2019. This while knowing Lissu was receiving treatment in Belgium. Really, shows how fragile and mediocre the ego of the CCM is at the moment.

They cannot even keep it at a fair fight, but has to knock people while they are down and fighting to regain normal strength. The MP will fight for it, even from a far, but this is foolish. That he has too, when everyone knows the reason. Only the CCM and the President that takes people for fools and hope people are as ignorant as him. Because, clearly this is an ego thing and trying to mastermind him out of a seat in the Parliament.

I hope Lissu wins this again. That he conquer this obstacle and shows the CCM a little finger, as they have misjudged the public and their resilience against stupid ideas like this. This is not a show strength of the CCM, but a utter sign of weakness. That they have to aim for a guy, that is battling with scars of plot to kill him. They are so brutal and insincere, that they hope people doesn’t understand this.

That is who the CCM and Mugufuli is these days. He can only win, when he knows the other people is in a disadvantage, the CCM and Magufuli couldn’t have won this in a fair fight. They know that and we does too. Peace.

Tanzania: As Anticipated the Political Parties Amendments was to destroy the Opposition Parties!

Last year, the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and President John Pombe Magufuli issued amendments in 2018 on the Political Parties Act, which was issued this year. This is laws that is severely restricting the Political Parties in Tanzania. Today, it is official how seriously damaging these laws for the other parties in the United Republic. They really warned about the wrath and rage of the authorities. They are coming with an vengeance, like there is no tomorrow.

Today, there is released a letter sent to ACT Wazalendo, Zitto Kabwe party, one of the major opposition parties in the Republic. Today, Sisty L. Nyahoza letter to the party, warned the party, that it could get deregistered, because it hadn’t fulfilled it requirements concerning the release of information the annual statements on the finances of the party for the year of 2013 – 2017. Since, that is the matters of the state now. This is the statement of the Registrar of the Political Parties, which sent this letter or the Amwani ya Simu ‘SIASA’.

Therefore, today is a sad day for the democracy, this is a bad day for the Republic. As this was warned with the new legislation and knowledge, that has been out there since early 2018. It was on the horizon, but nobody wanted to warn of the rain, sun or even the snow. Because, everything was fine and dandy. Alas, if it is to much sun, it become drought, if it is to much it is a flood and if it is to much snow, there is a snow-storm. Therefore, the reaction of today wasn’t shocking nor surprising, but awaited.

The Tanzanian government became one step further with the amendments on the Political Parties Act. Even if the President and CCM claims otherwise, but when it becomes this easy to deregister opposition parties, shouldn’t the CCM also show the same transparency or is it cool; since they are in power and controls all parts of government?

We know President Magufuli is a whiny little bitch, who cannot muster any courage or balls to stand-up for his actions. A President that wants to be high and mighty, but acts like a coward. That who he is and that why, laws like this exists. Because, he doesn’t have the will or the ability to just install himself as the grandest man ever ruling the United Republic. The deity amongst men. That is who Magufuli is, at least how he acts.

It is time to just get his wish. The genie is out of the bottle and yet another step to ONE-PARTY STATE is there. Since, the Registrar of the Political Parties issued this warning and certainly with the knowledge of what the authorities has done already to the Opposition. The CCM has ensured hard life for the opposition and now it turns even worse.

Now ACT Wazalendo is in dire straits, unless the Registrar shows mercy, but if by history of the what the authorities does in Tanzania. In a short amount of time, the ACT Wazalendo will be over with. Then, it is the next victim… whoever that might be. Peace.

Tanzania: The Republic where the President cannot manage anything negative!

Today, its reported that The Citizen Newspaper has been suspended for 7 days for publishing a story on how the shilling is deprecating towards the US Dollar. That story was published on the 23^rd February 2019. Therefore, the state has acted against the publication for saying possibly the truth.

The state who are ensuring, that less and less free speech. Where opposition politicians cannot do their job, do their duty as parties or even try to gain new electorate without getting in legal jeopardy. A Republic where the statistics and research have to accepted by the righteous board or public body before being published. Where bloggers, social media personalities and other to register themselves and pay yearly fees to be able to do so.

The state has under President John Pombe Magufuli become a shrinking space for free though, assembly and even liberty. As even demonstrations and planned movement of dissidents has been hit down hard by the authorities, as people didn’t celebrate Union Day in 2018. Because, the army was in the streets and prepared for the planned demonstrations. They were instead in their homes in safety, than going out to meet the soldiers.

That is what the CCM is serving the public under Magufuli. A man who cannot stomach critics, stomach true criticism or even balanced reporting. He can only manage praise, ass-kissing and blind devotion. Nothing else matters to the President.

In the Republic, everything has to be positive, the news got to be good and show the greatness of everything Magufuli and his administration does. If not make the Opposition look like traitors, thugs and criminals, because they are prosecuted for actually trying to do party work and rally their supporters, which they have to notify and get accepted to do by proper authorities.

That is why, today is another day, another newspaper, another media house that has gotten punished in Tanzania. This is not the first and not the last under this President. There been suspension of radios and newspapers before. But his actions are getting reckless, his motives are more bleak and weak. The President is looking like a man who needs a constant approval. He needs respect, but he isn’t that respected. That because he spreads fear, instead of bringing leadership or being a role model.

The President is using the law enforcement and fear to get people in line. Instead of doing good things and changing society in a positive direction. That is why the shillings sucks compared to the US Dollars. That is why the President and his administration suspends the Citizens. Because, the President sucks and cannot manage to fix the issue. Instead, he punish the messenger…

Not that one, that created the environment for which the message was sent from. Peace.

Hell Hath No Fury: 2 MPs Arrested in Tanzania!

Again, there is more Members of Parliament who are in legal jeopardy in Tanzania. This is happening, as the assault on their political freedom is shrinking. The laws, which stop opposition from having meetings, lectures or Press Conferences. The state is monitoring all sorts of political activity like rallies and consultation meetings or even inner-party training. All of this is now under the scrutiny by the state. This because of the laws enacted.

Therefore, with this in mind, the Opposition MPs can only be sitting ducks, if they are trying to be active MPs or even working as Political Parties, they have to wait for the government to allow it. If not it is deemed as illegal. That is why its not strange, that more and more MPs in Tanzania gets into trouble. Also, more and more political activists, as the laws are so stringing to control them.

“Morogoro. Kilombero and Mlimba Constituency MPs on Chadema ticket, Peter Lijualikali and Suzan Kiwanga, respectively, have been arrested and will appear before the Morogoro Resident Magistrate Court today. The duo have been taken to court after reporting at the Morogoro Central Police Station, responding to a police call, but instead, they have been arrested and connected to a case facing six other suspects” (Juma Mtanda – ‘Chadema MPs, six others arrested, arraigned’ 26.02.2019).

There are plenty more of MPs who has cases in courts, others who is awaiting trial. Others who just been released and surely will be in legal jeopardy soon. As the Courts, the Government and the President is giddy for their demise. If he wasn’t?

Why would the CCM make the laws like they do, while they have the majority in the United Republic?

The Opposition is a minority, a minority with nearly no rights or no voice. As they are silenced, muffled or detained. That is what they are doing. When someone comments that the MPs cannot keep themselves on the right side of the law. Just think for a brief moment.

Let’s say, if you were working as a baker and had to notify the authorities about every time your making a bread or announcing that the bread was being made. Even talking about the bread or educating about the bread. If the authorities don’t accept the time or the way you made the bread. They you either end up in Court or get Detained.

The same is now happening with the MPs in Tanzania. That is how foolish the laws are, as they are handcuffing the MPs for representing and voicing their concerns. They are not allowed to do their work, which is insulting to all intelligence and wisdom, this blue planet has. Peace.

Opinion: Tendu Lissu must have hit a nerve…

The Opposition Leader Tendu Lissu has been a sore thumb for the Tanzanian President, a long time. That is well-known. As there was even assassination attempt on the 7^th September 2017, as he has since been the to the hospital for. Lissu is an MP for t he party of Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA), Swahili for Party for Democracy and Progress.

We know he is hitting a nerve, as the Parliament and Speaker of the Parliament, because his absence from Parliament because of treatment abroad for the wounds, that has been caused in the assassination attempt. They are not even accepting the bills from the hospital or saying, that the MP has not notified, so they know where he is.

But apparently, they should know, as he was on the same TV show with the Tanzanian Ambassador in the United States on the Voice of America (VOA) with Shaka Ssali. Therefore, the saying of no knowledge is just giving way and being difficult.

This is all petty politics. They are attacking him, because Tundu is a vocal dissident. Something, the President Joseph Magufuli and his CCM cannot manage at this point of time. Everyone is supposed to follow the party line of the President and smile at his brilliance.

Lissu is hit for everything. I have read so many comments, that he should shut-up and be of kinder words. While the CCM can do whatever they want, the opposition parties are supposed to be gentle and soft spoken. They are not supposed to retaliate, even as their space are closing in and the oppressive attitude is continuing from the authorities.

I’m sure if any of the Opposition Parties took POWER and did the same thing to CCM, as it has done to ACT Wazelendo and CHADEMA. The people and leaders of CCM would call Lissu all sort of names, also the same to Zitto Kabwe. The President are using his powers, the CCM are wilfully pushing them to the brink. They are taking the little space away, that they already have.

Now, that they even want to cut away the livelihood of Lissu. Not only with the new laws tell how they are supposed to function as parties, who is not even allowed to hold rallies, meeting or press conferences. Therefore, the next level, is just showing that the words of Lissu matters. Because, the authorities and the Parliament are striking back at him.

If the CCM and Magufuli will look good for the world. They would not limit the space of the freedom of speech, liberty of dissidents and control of the political sphere. As of today, the CCM are limiting it and assaulting it, in favour of controlling it by any means. Right now, the victim and the one hit by this is Lissu. It could be a neighbour tomorrow. Peace.

Opinion: Can’t Magufuli already create his One-Party State, instead of this charade?

Now it is official, the Political Parties Amendment of 2018 have come into law, giving the ruling party and ruling regime of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) to take total control of all internal activities of the opposition. There are no misgivings in the United Republic of Tanzania, where opposition cannot hold press conferences or- hold civic meetings.

Therefore, the new legislation takes it further, as they are not allowed to be “Pressure Groups” or “Activist Groups”, this clearing the bar and securing the regime of non-opposing voices in the public sphere. As the opposition are already silenced by the current legislation as is.

With this new legislation, the state has to ensure what the Opposition Party teach and if they are allowed to do so. They have to ask permission and rights to do civic education and get it verified by the state registrar to do so. This means, the inner-acts of a party, will be monitored and followed by the state. The parties themselves cannot gather or acts as a single unit, without permission.

So, even holding an Internal Meeting has to be notified the government within 30 days before its hold and the State Registrar decides if they are allowed to do so. That shows how little democratic or even free the state is. When opposition parties have to beg the state to meet, they are already limited as is. But with this legislation, the CCM and President Joseph Magufuli gone ONE-PARTY STATE. Without actually saying it.

Will the CCM notify themselves about their activity and stop holding press conferences, stop notifying the public and holding meetings, rallies even? Didn’t think so, but the others parties of the United Republic can look forward to harsher treatment, and less of space. As their window of opportunities are dwindling and fast.

This because one man and one party cannot stomach criticism or even being questioned. If you do, expect jail time and fines. That is what Magufuli and CCM does.

This is limiting freedom, the opportunity to assemble and free speech. Not that any of that matters to the Untied Republic, as long as it has it saviour, crown-prince and the noblest of men in power, President Magufuli. Because nothing he does is wrong and nothing his party does is either. Just misunderstood.

Shiish. This is nonsense. This is oppressive, state legislation in yet another attempt to demote and kick the opposition to the curb. That is how afraid and how weak minded the CCM is. Because, they cannot see, the evil in this activity, but that is because this is not inflicted on them, but on the counterparty. Peace.

UN condemns killing of children in Njombe (29.01.2019)

The UN joins the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania in condemning these heinous acts.

DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania, January 29, 2019 –  The United Nations in Tanzania offers its deepest condolences to the families and communities of children who have been brutally murdered in Njombe over the last few weeks.

The attack and murder of children is unacceptable. Children have a fundamental right to be safe and be protected from violence so that they can enjoy their childhood and reach their full potential.

“The UN joins the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania in condemning these heinous acts. As the UN, we stand ready to support the Government in their efforts to address the issue,” said Mr. Alvaro Rodriguez, UN Resident Coordinator in Tanzania. “Additionally, we call upon all stakeholders to join hands to ensure that homes, schools and communities are safe spaces for children.”

Children are exposed to extreme forms of violence and exploitation in many parts of the world. “This has to stop,” said Ms. Maniza Zaman, UNICEF Representative in Tanzania. “No form of violence or abuse against a child is acceptable or permissible for any reason and any such act is an outright violation of their basic human rights.”
