Ethiopia: Abiy’s dialogue isn’t believable…

Today is a new chapter for Ethiopia” – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali (01.06.2024)

Maybe if this had been in 2018 and when there was hope in the air. Then the idea of this and the acts of the Federal Government would have been believable. However, the years of the Prosperity Party, the wars and the conflicts of the nation. It is unbelievable to be sincere or honest.

Prime Minister Abiy wants to speak big game, but it won’t be honest. No, he wants a trick and headlines. A man with the Ministry of Peace, but has constant internal conflict. A man who speaks peace, but orders wars. His a warlord who desperately wants to be a peaceful diplomat. We all know the gist by now and the citizens are feeling the pendulum swinging too.

There isn’t any hope on the horizon. Neither is there any sort of consensus or sort of proper dialogue to be held. We know the talks will be to see who participate and who can be bargained with. That’s the deal here…

Abiy is about consolidating power by any means. The National Dialogue Commission will have as much use as the Ministry of Peace. They are both nice in spirit, but in reality it’s the devil. The innocent is already butchered and the ideals of sincerity is long gone. Abiy won’t serve that and take people in with open arms. No, he wants to figure out ways to outsmart and snare people into a trap. That’s what he does… and get them under his spell.

There is hard to believe in the idea or belief of the dialogue when there is warfare going on. It isn’t like there will be talks with the enemies of the state in Oromia or in Amhara regions. Neither will certain opposition parties partake or even try to participate. That’s when you know it isn’t built for the promise it’s pledges. When it lack substantial parties and stakeholders… it will only be there to create headlines and a make-belief.

The mirage of Abiy shouldn’t be sold. The Warlord won’t bring a prosperous peace. No, he won’t make it happen. He can’t stop touching things and interfere. It is bound to be a failure and that’s on the accord of him wanting so badly to be the little King. The next emperor and high priest of the nation. That’s who Abiy wants to be and the crown he wants to wear so badly.

This dialogue will lead to nowhere. There is nowhere to go and it’s bound to crash and burn. It will deliver a report and be based on the epic storytelling of the PM. However, it won’t be real or do what it said it did. There is to may component missing and everyone can see that. Peace.

Ethiopia: After three years – The TPLF is soon allowed to return to “normalcy”…

The Council of Ministers has approved a proclamation allowing formerly banned organizations to re-register as political parties. Pending approval from the House of Peoples’ Representatives, this amendment could pave the way for political groups like the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) to attain legal party status once again. The Prime Minister’s office revealed that the existing Electoral Proclamation lacked provisions for groups involved in past non-peaceful activities to transition into legitimate political entities. However, the proposed amendments would offer a framework for such groups, emphasizing the abandonment of violence and a commitment to peaceful operations. Following unanimous endorsement from the Council of Ministers, the draft has been sent to parliament for approval” (Addis Standard, 31.05.2024).

On the 5th May 2021 the Council of Ministers approved a resolution that the Tigray Peoples Liberation Front (TPLF) would be designated as a “terrorist organization”. That’s why today is a big deal, as the Council of Ministers are on the 31st May 2024 is opening up for the TPLF to get re-registered as a political party. After over three years of being seen as so, but after the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement, the TPLF and the Federal Government had to work together. So, it couldn’t have worked to be an illegal organization for much longer.

The Prosperity Party and the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali has made amends with the TPLF. The recent talks have been favourable and they have been reassured. The TIRA is delivering and following the agreements, which is what Abiy wants too.

We knew this was all political and not sincere, as stated by Redwan Hussain last year:

As you are all aware, the TPLF was labelled as a terrorist organisation not because of ideological differences, a political programme, the TPLF’s possession of weapons, or the fact that it held elections. The TPLF was labelled a terrorist organisation not merely to make our defence forces feel more at ease in continuing the fight. To continue the war, we do not need to label TPLF as a terrorist group; we can already declare war on the basis of the constitution and military establishment’s decree. The defence is now fighting many armed groups in several parts of Ethiopia, including Gambella and Benshangul. However we have not labelled these armed groups as terrorist. Until recently, Only OLF and TPLF have been labelled as terrorists. For some time after the war began, the TPLF was not labelled as a terrorist organisation. The fundamental purpose for labelling the TPLF as terrorist is to control and weaken TPLF’s political and economic power, as well as provide better capacity to our defence and federal police” –Minister, National Security Advisor to the PM of FDRE, Redwan Hussein (22.03.2023).

It is compelling that the PP is changing heart now. That’s to legitimize the TPLF. For the ones that wanted it defunct and annihilate it. Certainly they have lost, but the TPLF is weakened after the war in the North. They are on talking terms, but not a powerhouse, which they were before. The Tigray region isn’t in a good place yet. The war-torn region is still hurting and the people are far from in a good place. Therefore, the re-registration is a nice gesture for the political elite, but it isn’t saving all the victims of the war.

The Tigray region needs more than a political revival of the TPLF. It needs to be genuinely a part of the Federation and gets it’s direct support. The FDRE have disassociated and worked against the Tigray region even before the war. That’s because the TPLF didn’t want to disband and be a part of the Prosperity Party after the ending of the EPRDF coalition. Therefore, the reality now is that Abiy has leverage and isn’t worried about them anymore. This is why he can give them “life” again.

That’s how I see it. The war was about consolidating power and beating an enemy who wouldn’t want to bend the knee. Now they are doing so and following the direct decrees of Addis Ababa. That’s why Mekelle get some fanfare, but they are not getting ready to party just yet. No, they have to much work and struggles to overcome. Peace.

Ethiopia: Assimba Democratic Party (ADP) – Press Release (29.05.2024)

The invading Eritrean army is trying to distort the identity of citizens in Tigray region  in Irob, Gulemakhada, Zalanbesa, Egala and Badme districts by force.

But the facts are:

  1. It is the Eritrean army that broke the Algiers Treaty by re-invading Tigray.
  2. According to the agreement, there is no land reserved for Eritrea,
  3. The people of Tigray who live in the occupied territories do not want to be separated to Eritrea. Knowing these reasons, we strongly express that the international community should pressurize the invading Eritrean army to leave Tigray territories immediately.

Ethiopia: It’s the Ginbot 20 and total radio silence…

On May 28, 1991, the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) captured Addis Ababa, ending the 17-year Marxist rule of the Derg regime led by Mengistu Haile Mariam. This marked a significant turning point in Ethiopian history as the EPRDF, a coalition of rebel groups, led by Meles Zenawi, successfully overthrew the government. This event initiated the transition towards the establishment of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) and paved the way for democratic reforms and economic restructuring” (Inside Africa, 28.05.2024).

Last year… the authorities, the state and the Prime Minister celebrated their own version of Ginbot 20, as they saluted the Ethiopian National Defence Forces (ENDF). This year in 2024… there is only foreign dignitaries and others who seems to remember this day.

It is like Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali who in the beginning of his reign celebrated and publicly stated the importance of the day. Nevertheless, with time going by… maybe he prefers the day to live in infamy. As it isn’t a celebration of his victory or the civil war he fought to consolidate power.

You know this day has lost it’s significance when there is no sign of it on the FANA Broadcasting Company’s front-page. It is like a long forgotten memory. Some even says the day is controversial now. As it was ushering in the previous government, which happens to be one that fostered and made it possible to have Prosperity Party to begin with.

He couldn’t have created his party and his government without the creation of the EPRDF, which is the foundation of his in many aspects. As a powerful Prime Minister he might not like this idea, but that is a fact.

It seems like Abiy needs his own day to bash in glory. The medemer terror that he has created. All the conflict in the republic and the never ending wars. Make the victories of the EPRDF overshadow the conquests of the current era. Maybe that’s why he wants to finish off all his own enemies before creating a day to celebrate his own victories on the battlefield. Because, he has not achieved what the predecessors did.

Well, he has created more conflict and gotten more enemies over the years. That’s what Abiy has been able to do. Making the nation more fragile and war-torn. Instead of building a strong foundation and trust between the regions of the state. Therefore, he struggles to get to grips and to stop the wars. The wars is what makes him tick and gives him power.

That’s maybe why he cannot stomach to celebrate Ginbot 20. It is a reminder of how he failed to continue the legacy and the strong government, which came in affect because of it. That’s what Abiy haven’t been able to do. Neither has he continued the rising development or getting trust from the financial markets. That is all dwindling as a consequence of the costly warfare that is destroying the nation.

Certainly the end of Derg should have been celebrated. Nevertheless, that is apparently in the best interests of the PM. If it was… he would be together with dignitaries and fellow associates making a rally and holding a grand ceremony with him as the centrepiece of attention. Therefore, we know this day isn’t important.

When the PM doesn’t issue a statement, doesn’t utter a word and the authorities and state media is serving radio silence. That’s when we know it is just another Tuesday. Peace.

Ethiopia: Abiy launches yet another “final war” against Fano…

Fanoism is putting the public’s honor and interests above one’s own honor and interests. “I will be respected and benefited only when the existence of my people is respected and their freedom is guaranteed.” You who cheat our people in the name of Fano, who are day people and night beasts, whether you have an agenda or not, small individuals who seem to be unknown for the time being, are more enemies than enemies, the day we finished our homework and returned to you, Ethiopia. The earth will not hide you, Ethiopia will take care of you, and our humane and compassionate behavior will change from you. Through you, we will teach the entire generation that banditry is a cursed act in Amhara land” (Amhara Fano Gonder, 27.05.2024).

In Addis Ababa, the desperation must be felt, as the Prosperity Party and the Ethiopian National Defence Forces (ENDF) isn’t capable of defeating the Amhara para-military group “Fano” which was it’s ally in the Tigray war. Therefore, the former allies and former weapon brothers are now combatants against the Federal Forces.

There is now reports of thousands of buses of new conscripts which are sent to the front-lines of Amhara region. They are where the Fano has taken more control and is able to takeover power from the state. This must be humiliating for Abiy and his allies, as the former Fano rebels and former Amhara Regional Special Forces are now fighting the Federal State. That’s really saying something…

Abiy and the Prosperity Party lost an ally with his ideals of consolidating power. That he needs to interfere and have a say everywhere. No matter where things are going or what he believes in. Abiy needs to have his orders and people have to obey his commands. That’s how he had a fallout with Amhara allies, which was part of the Tripartite Alliance attacking Tigray. They had planned it in advanced and now they getting the same treatment for defending their region.

Abiy is ordering the same big conflict, war and medemer terror on the Amhara region. He is ensuring the demise, destruction and total war in the region. This is happening with what is the supposed to be the fourth major offensive and final campaign against Fano. The Fano is able to stagnate and hurt the ENDF. This is why they have to send new soldiers, which will die on the orders of the PM.

Fano has been able to compete and combat the ENDF forces in the Amhara region for a year now. Since last year April it has fought and been able to sting the pride of the Federal Government. They have fought bravely for their nationalistic cause, but if it will succeed in the end is another matter. That is too early to say…

but the time and how the momentum is shaking the Federal Government, as they have to use recruits and new conscripts to participate in the conflict. That is a sign of weakness and lack of well trained personnel to fight their war. The years of conflict and internal conflict is now showing the human costs and not only the financial burden of doing so. The PP and Abiy has outspent the funds of the government and misused the wars for personal spoils. Therefore, the conflict in Amhara is a costly enterprise and must cause agony in the capital.

Abiy isn’t winning and the youth is dying for his cause. His a warlord whose not winning his wars. That’s what is happening and there will be lost generation as a result of these wars in Ethiopia. This has been in the name and in the spirt of Abiy. That’s who he is and what he stands for. Peace.

Ethiopia: Salsay Weyane Tigray – Lack of Inclusive Government lead to Domestic Security Crisis in Tigray! (27.05.2024)

Ethiopia: Is Abiy planning a second “Operation Law Enforcement”?

“During these discussions, led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the group identified what they called three primary risks if Tigray remains as it is without further weakening according to UMD Media sources: 1) Tigray’s current status could embolden Amhara Fano and other forces such as Oromo Liberation Army who are fighting against the federal government; 2) Fano and Eritrea might ally with Tigray to strengthen the challenge against the government; 3) Tigray might hold the government accountable for crimes committed during the 2020-2022 war. The meeting considered various measures, ranging from targeting Tigray’s military and political leaders through isolated poisonings and assassinations to waging a full-scale war on Tigray” (UMD Media – ‘UMD Media Sources: PM Abiy Ahmed held meetings on launching war on Tigray in the presence of, among others, current IGAD Executive Secretary’ 21.05.2024).

There is now rumours, speculations and possible talks of negotiations or meetings in regard to a new conflict with the Tigray region. A war that has been put on hold, but never  totally honoured the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement, as the Federal Government is in a bitter conflict with former allies in Amhara Region, the FANO or Amhara Popular Front (APF). They have also been in a constant war with the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA/WBO). So, Addis Ababa never gotten peace or lack of warfare in the era of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali.

In the era of Abiy, the never ending war and consolidating of power never ceases to stop. The Prime Minister is waging wars and creating conflict to get rid of people who doesn’t adhere or obey his direct command. He avenges them and orders the guns on them. If it is Ogaden, Oromia or Tigray regions. The PM can order his forces and authorities to crackdown on anyone who opposes him or doesn’t follow his every command. He will kill and arrest anyone who doesn’t comply with his every whim. That’s what his does and his known for it now.

We can wonder what he gets out of these conflicts, as there are civilians and citizens who suffers because of it. The warlord and tyrant is ceasing all power from the regional leaders, but he isn’t getting more popular. That’s why people are signing up and becoming part of insurgencies. This is because of their way of life is endangered and they are seeing fellow people directly suffering because of him.

Prime Minister Abiy could easily order another round of war in Northern Ethiopia. The silence of the guns in Tigray region has only been to stall for time. He hopes to totally destroy the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) and the political elite of the Tigray region. The ones who didn’t accept the merger of the EPRDF into the one-national-party, the Prosperity Party. The medemer terror has been waged on the people and he will continue to do so. Just as the PM is realising new books and acting like a Supreme Overlord.

We should now fear another bloody war and the end of the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement, as it was only used to buy time and re-group. You can wonder if Mekelle has planned or seen this coming. As they have negotiated and talked openly with Addis Ababa. We can wonder if the Interim Regional Administration of Tigray are prepared or even have considered another defensive war.

That’s what’s up on the horizon and it’s tragic. The conflict, the war and the massive losses. The destruction of society, the fabric of life…. And everything that was known in the regions. Ethiopia is losing and Abiy is continuing to destroy the nation. Just so he can rule over the ashes and the burned villages. That’s what he will be King over. The destructive and annihilation of his enemies. He speaks of peace, but wages war. That’s who Abiy is and it’s not a secret anymore. Peace.
