Opinion: Tragic that Bobi Wine fears for the safety of his kids… [and has to defend it too]

I have seen regime enforcers and propagandists trying to question the travel of my children out of the country as we get close to the election! Of course everyone knows that their statements are not born out of genuineness, but out of their usual schemes to diminish our resolve to remove their corrupt regime” (Bobi Wine, 07.01.2021).

The authorities and the state is really hay-wired…. When a Presidential Candidate is sending his kids away and abroad days ahead of the General Elections in 2021. This is just a week ahead of the polls and Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine sent his kid away for a reason. He cares about the safety for his kids. He has an opportunity. Not because he wants too, but as a parent he feels he has too.

Bobi Wine isn’t doing this to mock the ones who cannot afford or have the opportunity to do so. No, he does it because he has seen with eyes what the government does to its own. Bobi Wine shouldn’t have to explain this. It is not a political motivation behind this. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) and apologists tried to use this against him. Without reasoning out and understanding why he did it. That is all natural for someone to shield their own.

The NRM apologists shouldn’t use that against him. It only shows the double standard, as Museveni own wife and family went first to Kenya in exile in 1981. They we’re there until they we’re able to leave for Sweden in 1983 and was located there until May 1986. So, that the kids of Bobi Wine is away for the polls and the uncertainty of the family makes sense to me. Just like it made sense for Museveni to shield his kids and wife in exile during the bush-war.

It makes sense that Bobi Wine does this. Not that he wants too, but he has to do this as a parent. That is why he wrote this: “For most of this year, they have largely lived as prisoners; very rarely leaving home. As we near the election, I received credible information from sources within the system of plans by the regime to cause physical harm to them!” (Bobi Wine, 07.01.2021).

Who in the right mind would take the risk, if they could avoid it? Who wouldn’t shield their minors and their own kin? Museveni sent his own to Sweden during the bush-war in the 1980s. Therefore, the NRM should remember what they did. There was more NRM in exile too and this is why they should remember it too.

He continues: “The regime propagandists should be very ashamed. In a free and democratic country, no body should live in fear simply because they oppose the government in power. In a free country, a presidential candidate would never have to wear a bullet-proof jacket and helmet in order to go for campaigns! That is the country we are struggling to build. Gen. Museveni should even be more ashamed that 35 years later, children have to yet again run away from their country over fears of vengeful attacks!” (Bobi Wine, 07.01.2021).

This here is making sense. The NRM should be prepared to grasp this. However, they will downplay it and make a fool out of it. Bobi Wine is doing something that’s making sense. Everyone in their right mind shield their kids. Unless, you want to be neglectful parent or not taking care of your own. Especially, when the man is afraid of the state and knows they can target someone.

Bobi Wine has done the right thing. It is sad he had to do this. That should be the reality of this. Instead, he has defend this and that’s ridiculous. He has been tortured, shot at and arrested by the authorities. If someone would be afraid of his kids. His one of them and its understandable. Peace.

Opinion: Bobi Wine won’t have all the answers [but the message he spreads is bigger than himself]

Alert. Red Alert. Breaking news. Shocking revelations and sudden new profound messages will be spread here. If you want your mind boggled or go through a spirited journey. I have to warn you. This is just a friendly reminder. That Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine is just a human being and isn’t all perfect.

I don’t expect Bobi Wine to have all the answer. Heck, I don’t expect him to able to articulate or amass the massive structure of government. No, but the ones dismissing him… is forgetting that his Presidency is a party effort and a team effort. Just like the creation of his manifesto and his 5 point programme. All which is stating plans ahead to alter the state of affairs, which is happening today.

People are saying he doesn’t have the ability explain fiscal policy. Neither can he enough to understand economy. Not does he have a military background. Bobi Wine wasn’t in the bush fighting Obote. Neither was he part of UNLA or getting rid of Amin. No, he was just a musician turned politician.

However, politicians comes from all walks of life. They are a representation of society as a whole. That is why some is farmers, some should be boda-boda drivers and other medics. That should all be natural. Therefore, his previous shouldn’t undermine him, but be a stepping stone to where he is today. That he has been able to grow up in the ghetto and get successful before becoming a Presidential Candidate.

That the National Unity Platform (NUP) and Bobi Wine is sort of freshers. Still, the way his messaging and speaking is needed. As the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and President Museveni wouldn’t fear for the man. If he was as mellow and friendly as Muntu. Therefore, the campaign to remove a dictator is good. Which is a truthful statement. Just like the FDC calling the NRM a junta and saying they needed “defiance”.

Bobi Wine shown character through the hardships. The state and the authorities have worked against him. There been no leeway and nobody really helping him along the way. Only more hardships and seeing comrades getting either arrested or even killed. This is why the ones speaking ill of his campaign. Should understand that his constantly brutally attacked and so is his allies. Not like they are cuddled like Teddy-bears, but is at gun-point so often.

That is why the Manifesto or the speeches is undermined by the “drama” and the injustice happening to him. It is not like Museveni or his allies are having these sort of issues. Not like they have to talk about tear-gas or getting bail for activists. No, they are walking around like they own the Republic.

This is why Bobi Wine’s campaign cannot be perfect. Bobi Wine could try, but at this point its impossible. His only as good as his team and his comrades. He can manage a lot on his own, but the party around him needs to support him. They are all bound by this together. It is a mission that is nearly or totally impossible. As there are no odds on their side.

Not only verbally abused and belittled. The state is working on red alert against them. There is never a moment of peace. Never a moment to reflect or have a moment of nostalgia. Unless, you detained for hours somewhere without warrants or abducted by the authorities. Which is sadly happening too.

Bobi Wine has done a hell of a job getting to where he is now. There is nobody who should deny that. There was no natural cause for him getting where he is right now. Alas, Bobi Wine have proved so many people wrong. He has shown character and growth at every stage. His a leader, the next generation of leader and the hope of the Republic. His not the past, but the future. A future where his not alone, but supported by people making him better.

Bobi Wine might be the renegade and the grenade into this election. However, his there as a reaction to the regime and his the voice of the oppressed. Bobi Wine is the messenger and the ones that is daring to stand in the middle of the barricades for a cause bigger than himself. To truthfully liberate, give freedom and justice to all citizens. That isn’t his mission alone, but a mission for everyone who wants a free and fair society. He says it on a regular. Others should follow his pursuit and his message. As they should want to deliver the same freedom and liberty to the public. Which the NRM and Museveni has failed to do in all their years in power. Peace.

Opinion Rwabihurwa flawed article [and his 3-M’s of Doom]

Ugandans take Presidential campaigns seriously and candidates should take note of this fact, most of them (Ugandans) take time to analyze and contemplate the message of different candidates and this informs their voting decisions” (Rukondo Paul Rwabihurwa, 05.01.2021).

I’m not shocked that the likes of Rukundo Paul Rwabihurwa is dismissing the opposition and calling them to give up. I myself believes the election is so rigged. That the only way out of this quagmire is a revolution or a total shutdown of the current regime. As they are not willing to give the public a peaceful transition from President Museveni and neither give way for other parties than the National Resistance Movement (NRM). That is whole another lane and for the loss, then the likes of Rwabihurwa.

Rwabihurwa is working for the Agency for Transformation or AfT. That is the organization run by Museveni associate Morrison Rwakakamba. Therefore, someone who is employed and working in an organization like that. Would easily be in favour of the status quo and who is earning fortunes on having agreements with ministries because of their association. When you know all of this. Then his piece in Nilepost today, a NBS TV Online News Site. It all goes together.

Today Rwabihurwa got the piece named “The opposition should focus on what next after defeat” published in the NilePost. Just as I stated in the beginning. The manner of which we see the default loss is different. As the likes of Rwabihurwa want to show the greatness of NRM. Which isn’t surprising, as he needs that support for his lifeline in the end. That the ends to his means.

What is the failure is the set focus on NRM. As this is supposed to be about the failing opposition. Who just should cry havoc and find measures for post-election. Still, the man is praising the organization and the structure of NRM. Which as he stated in the piece had 34 years to build. The man is focusing on three M’s. The Message, Money and Management.

While the opposition, which he easily has dismissed had less of time. Often at gun-point and not allowed to build within their means. Therefore, if the NRM and their M’s are so great. Then they should have the same possibilities. Alas, that is not the case.

So, when he says the management is so great in the NRM. How come there have never been any real successor after 3 decades in power? How come the NRM have ballooned the government and gerrymandered into the insane since 1986? How many districts and sub-counties has the NRM created and how has that helped the local government management? Ah?

It is like the NRM is misusing their management and prefers open cronyism at a large scale. They are proud of hiring mercenaries and goons to keep this on a leash.

And after the headless praise of the NRM and their “management” sills. The man has the nerve to write this: “Other presidential candidates like the renowned Musician (Bobi Wine) whom I personally miss in the music world seems to be clueless on issues of Economy. His message has been more on removing Museveni whom he calls a dictator but not on what he intends to do for the country” (Rukondo Paul Rwabihurwa, 05.01.2021).

If he should speak of economy and management, which his so proud of the NRM. Then he should explain why the nation is constantly lacking funds, needs donors and loans to cover the basics? Why is the Republic constantly using deficit financing to cover its upkeep?

Why are you calling him a musician? Is it cool that the General and President is a farmer, but cannot grab the mic? The man who has used gig-song to be popular all his career? When you use that as a arrogant slap in the face of Bobi Wine. You better bring the goods and glory for your salvation. Especially, when the NRM government is debt-ridding and crisis speculating government. Which will need a resurrection or debt relief looking like the ones who was giving in the early 1990s. As the President and his cronies has gambled on Petro-dollars to save their greener pastures in the future. Which isn’t that fiscal smart or a sort of message that is securing anyone’s future.

The biggest blunder of his writing is here: “And by the way, let’s say we are removing Museveni then what? These are the questions people are asking and the NUP campaign heads should on providing answers to these emerging concerns. Our problems are not individual-based, we want a Government that will create employment for the young people, a Government that will ensure the safety of its citizens, this is the Government that will win our hearts” (Rukondo Paul Rwabihurwa, 05.01.2021).

His continuing the propaganda. Speaking of merits, when the Presidential Advisors are only hired by the graces of the President and not on their skills. The cabinet is all cronies and appointments to government institutions are all part of the patronage. Even creations of embassies are happening because someone needs a plum-job and not because of diplomatic measures or means. So, the man is clearly jaded in his mind here. Like we cannot see the lack of merit in the appointments of the President. What sort of skill-set has Butchaman over any bloke working selling fruits in Kalerwe? Please tell me?

Removing Museveni is a sign to remove a brutal and ruthless regime, which is keeping the general public is shackles. A government, which is limiting freedom, liberty and justice. Where the rule of law is only based on political affiliation and not on crimes committed. As the NRM High Ranking Officials can do injustice and later be acquitted. While opposition leaders are battling cases pending back a decade ago. That is how injustice is under Museveni and his the emperor of this system.

How can this government win people’s heart when the youth is killed in the streets and being blamed as hoodlums and hooligans? How can this government win the hearts of the public, when the next generation of leaders is fooled around with and mocked on a daily? How can it win hearts with all of that?

He says his a lecturer and tried a trick. Tried to sound smart, but when you can this easily counter argument. The arguments are generally flawed. The three M’s isn’t all of that. Maybe, the lecturer and comrade of Rwakakamba should try better. He claims other is ignorance and doesn’t have the answers himself either. This sort of article can only be seen as an template of ignorance. Peace.

Opinion: OO’s Oh Oh defence of Museveni

The demagogues must be stopped” (OO, 05.01.2021).

It is that time to clean the legacy and prove the value of all the years of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. That is the job of the Government Citizen Interaction Centre (GCIC Uganda) and Uganda Media Centre. Where Government Spokesperson and Executive Director of Uganda Media Centre Ofwono Opondo (OO) works. So, this man has all the reasons to defend Museveni. His pay-check depends on it and his whole career is a defence of the man.

OO has always done this and that he also publish an opinion piece in the New Vision isn’t surprising. Where he has gotten the publication to publish the puff piece: “Why Museveni and NRM deserve your vote on January 14”. Just the title itself is vomiting and shows that a man who has earned your ballot after 35 years in power. The man “deserves it” and that says everything about what to come from OO.

OO even have the nerve to say this: “That said, however, it is crucial that while we keep the momentum to the finishing line, we should all maintain the dignity that democracy deserves. We extend appreciation to all who have supported the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni during these campaigns amidst the Covid-19, and fake news by mendacious groups” (OO, 05.01.2021).

It is very rich speaking of democracy and dignity. When the same government are able to arrest, detain and abduct citizens for their political association during the Election Road Map. The OO also doesn’t prove the value of it, when your supposed to appreciate Musveni for his means. When the authorities are targeting the opposition and charging them without doing the same with the members of ruling regime doing the same. Maybe, that is the dignified way the NRM and the President values “democracy”?

OO continues: “NRM implores its members and the general public to turn up on polling day to cast their votes without any fears, and to remain peaceful afterward. NRM government with broad support from majority of Ugandans has over the years built a strong foundation and formidable pillars of state to guarantee freedom, peace, and stability to all who live in Uganda” (OO, 05.01.2021).

This is the same NRM that pre-emptive arrests, detains opposition and kills demonstrators. The same government that is making the opposition campaigns looking like war-zones. Also, outright blocking them from campaigns in plenty of districts. However, we are supposed to celebrate the fake peace and liberty, which is very selective. The ones supporting or eating on the plate of the state is free and got coins. Nevertheless, the ones who is associated with opposition will not be liberated.

The state will also use the soldiers, crime preventers and LDUs on election day. There will be fear and intimidation, which the NRM has issued through the whole campaign. If the NRM trusted the public and their rights. Why are they arresting and killing civilians who are supposed to be free? Or is that freedom only for the ones wearing yellow?

OO states: “Some of these failures have indeed been systemic, while others are results of negligence and deliberate calculation by the shenanigans in the government bureaucracy. It is only NRM and Museveni that have had the courage and honesty to publicly admit failure, and deserve acknowledgment” (OO, 05.01.2021).

What is striking here … is that the government spokesperson is blaming bureaucracy and the bureaucrats, which have been employed and is working for the state. Bureaucrats are usually following procedures, policies and doing the bidding of the state. These folks aren’t working in vacuum and they are only following the leadership of the ones governing. So, to blame them is blatantly not taking credit for the lack of governance, which the NRM haven’t delivered. Therefore, blaming them is futile, as it only shows how lacking the NRM is.

Museveni isn’t naming failure, but blaming others. Just like you did OO. Never taking real credit for the system, which has been made in the image of Museveni himself. That is the reality… and doesn’t deserve to acknowledge, as that is just verifying the suddenly professed failure of the state that is supposed to “secure the future” after 35 years in office.

OO also says: “While one or two presidential candidates have been boastful that they can win, it’s unlikely because they have not been able to table visible viable policy alternatives against that of NRM nor do they have the necessary political infrastructure to generate an election victory” (OO, 05.01.2021).

We know the two his subjecting here is Bobi Wine and Patrick Oboi Amuriat. These are now blamed for not having a political machinery behind them. Something that is nearly impossible to build, as the NRM and authorities are blocking their inner-working operations and party organizations in itself. It is not like they have had a free and fair election. That is the dignity they deserve I suppose. Also, when he says they don’t have political infrastructure. That is done deliberately by the state and the NRM is using the state to win. It is impossible to compete when you have state institutions, authorities and state organizations behind you. While the others are trying to build a party and campaigns at gun-point. I am sure, the NRM wouldn’t do so great if they had the same obstacles as NUP and FDC. Just like UPM didn’t do great compared to UPC and DP in the 1980 Elections.

In his continued rant: “Only the NRM has fielded candidates in every MP and District Chairperson elective seat and already has twelve MPs and four district chairpersons respectively un-opposed. FDC, the main opposition party has 281 and 55 candidates for parliament and district chairpersons which are below the majority mark. Apart from being loud mostly with calculated lies in the media, FDC and Amuriat victory isn’t possible” (OO, 05.01.2021).

This again is systemic default. As the Electoral Commission and the spells the state have put on the opposition parties. If there was a fair field and was allowed to really organize their parties. These numbers would have differed. It is only proves how the NRM is using the state advantage and that they are running the institutions. They are the ones who are preparing it to be this way by default. It is part of the “democracy” and the “dignity” of the same state.

Well, enough nonsense for one day. Peace.

Mzee and the Authorities come with warnings 10 days ahead of the polls…

The Opposition has been threatening to burn petrol stations in Kampala. I want to assure you no one is going to burn Kampala down” – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (04.01.2021).

This is continuing what the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the President does best. That is to spread warnings and incite fear. This is spelling out stories that never happens and its supposed to intimidate.

The Opposition are always planning to burn petrol stations and do harm in the elections. However, the ones who come with force and guns is the state. The government comes with the LDUs, Crime Preventers and soldiers. They are tear-gassing and injuring the public. They are coming with live-bullets and even killing protesters. However, the greater public is supposed to fear ghost opposition who plans to set fire to a Total station somewhere in the capital.

The Police Force says this today:

We would like to issue a stern warning to candidates/political parties that continue to hold mass rallies that it is too dangerous. They have to adjust accordingly for the sake of protecting the health of the community. So far, none of the candidates/political parties have come out with a formal statement cancelling their campaign events in these respective districts/cities and how they will contend with the Electoral Commission directive” (Uganda Police Force, 04.01.2021).

Just as the final campaign rallies are happening. The opposition are already arrested or charged by the state. The opposition have already been blocked and the Police are in the way of ordinary campaigning. The state haven’t offered the opposition a hand. They are saying the opposition shouldn’t hold mass-rallies, but they are not enforcing the same laws in concern to the ruling regime.

Therefore, we know this warning is to the NUP and FDC. These warnings isn’t for the NRM nor anyone else challenging the state. No, these are for Bobi Wine and Patrick Oboi Amuriat. Who are always in legal trouble and having their team under fire. The state is targeting them and warning them.

So, we can just await the use of force and injuring more people ahead of the polls. As the Police will use their means of tear-gas, live-bullets and pre-emptive arrests of opposition activists and candidates. Just like they have been doing through the whole campaign. That will continue and there is no ceasing of this. Peace.

Opinion: Bobi Wine’s “P10” for 2021

This is the year to accomplish our mission. We have 10 more days of campaign. We have 10 days to determine the future of our country….it is this election where we will determine if we are to remain slaves” – Robert Kyagulanyi (02.01.2021).

So, there we have it really. Presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine have planned his own P10 or hoping the citizens will be responsible and document the elections. We know just like he stated in the Year End Address yesterday. That the state and authorities will use all means to rig the elections. They will sort out a media blackout, block the internet and social media. This is why the National Unity Platform (NUP) not only launches an UVote App, but speaks highly of using VPN. That is preparing for the inevitable.

We have seen in the past how the state has controlled the results. How they have fixed the polls and ensured “victory”. Clearly, the cellphone and the app is an help. However, that will not be enough. As the public have to come out with an outcry. Have to be on the barricades, unless they give way yet again. That is what the state hopes for.

Museveni, please keep your word. You called Obote and Amin swine for disrespecting the right s of Ugandans but you are much worse than the previous regimes” (Robert Kyagulanyi, 02.01.2021).

A man who has rigged elections since 1996 will clearly not hold his words in 2021. No, we cannot believe that. Neither can Bobi Wine. That is why his preparing for the tricks of the trade. The knowledge that the whole state is on alert.

Kampala and the central region aka Baganda will be a battlefield. The state will have dozens of brigades out in the streets. The army units will be out of the barracks. The LDUs will out and roaming the streets. The Crime Preventers will cause havoc and intimidate too. We just know this will happen. The high ranking officials will spread fear and intimidate more. Just like the President has done through his campaign.

The opposition leaders will either be house-arrested or picked up from their homes. They will be abducted and taken away. The NUP and FDC leadership will be in trouble. There will be no mercy and their lives be in the hands of the authorities. This is the bleak reality.

The FDC had their P10 group ahead of 2016 General Elections. This was a group monitoring and following up the occurrences at the polling stations. They was the team ensuring the rights of the ballots and the tallying. However, it didn’t work out, but the idea was a genius one.

The NUP with their App and Smartphones is good in itself. However, these folks will not have control of the Declaration Forms of the Polling Stations. Neither, the certified results from the Electoral Commission. Not to mention finding out if there is a second unit doing ghost counting. That can easily happen in elections like these. With pre-ticked ballots, stuffed ballot-boxes and cooking the results in the Tally Centre. Therefore, the phones and app is good in itself. However, it is enough?

To be sure the election is free and fair, which have been miles apart. These elections have been depressing. That is why I just know that the EC and the President doesn’t care about an open heist. President Museveni will rig this one. There is no doubt in my mind. Nevertheless, Bobi Wine has shown heart. Will it be enough?

The FDC tried with their Power 10 or P10 to be 10 People per village or polling station to guard the vote. However, we know how that went. Will Bobi Wine succeed now?

His showing character and heart, but is that enough? I am afraid its not. Unless, the people are not accepting the rigging and the foolery of the state this time around. Peace.

President Museveni orders his Army Commanders for “Election Oversight”

There is a new leaked letter or PO/21 on “Deployment of Commanders for Election Oversight”. This letter sets the tone and targets this time around. We know in the Republic that things are militarized and usage of the army within the political sphere is totally normal from both the President and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM). Therefore, the letter itself seems legit.

The Commander of it all is the always trusted and family member Gen. Salim Selah. While the son Maj. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerubaga is getting the role authorizing excessive use of force at all polling stations. General David Muhoozi, the CDF of the UPDF is deployed to coordinate UPDF, SFC, ISO and CMI during the elections. While Gen. Sam Kavuma is directed to operationalize the Huawei mapping software of all Kyagulanyi strongholds.

While there are in each region someone deployed to delegate the blocking or buying off of the NUP supporters. Blocking people from accessing the tally-centres. Blocking Foreign Media as well from the same places. Scaring and intimidating voters. It is a total of 21 Generals or Commanders put in the various of regions to delegate these efforts ahead of the polls.

They are clearly, as anticipated targeting the National Unity Platform and their Presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine. That is to be anticipated. This letter show that all of the 21 Commanders are delegated to do the same things all across their regions. While the first specially mentioned are countrywide.

The army implicated in this manner. Proves that the President only trusts the army to fulfil his mission. The clandestine operation of securing the future. President Museveni’s future and the future of the Republic.

This shows what we all know. That the army is a partisan operation and only made to serve the throne. It is not there to secure the borders or fight external invaders. No, these forces and armed groups to create fear within the general public. The President is seemingly very interested in that and the ones who is supporting the NUP especially this time around.

This letter implicates the whole Ministry of Defence, the National Army and all of its Units or Divisions. As these are used in every region from Bunyoro, Kampala, Acholi, Lango, Karamoja, Ankole, Busoga, West Nile, Rwenzori, Masaka and Buganda. That is what they are initially planning and with various of commanders from the army. Nobody doesn’t have a role and doesn’t have a mission.

The UPDF will clearly not dwell in the barracks and take it easy. No, they are preparing to come out with blazing guns and scare the public. They are preparing to issue threats and be forceful towards citizens who plans to vote. That is the sort of game-plan the government has. This isn’t shocking either. As the President has spoken so often of warning and that he has forces, which can easily take people out. That is the sort of man he is.

The President lives by the gun and he will most likely die by the same gun too. That is the only thing he knows and this letter proves that. All the Presidents Men and all authorities of the state is at play to ensure another term for the Presidency. Nothing left to chance. This secret letter is proof of that too. Peace.

Opinion: The VLS is a technicality to block voters’ from voting…

33. Polling stations and polling centres.

(1)Each returning officer may, with the approval of the commission, establish within each parish or ward within his or her electoral district as many polling stations as are convenient for the casting of votes, taking into account the distances to be travelled by voters to polling stations, the number of voters in the constituency and the geographical features of the constituency.

(2)Where the circumstances require, the returning officer may, under subsection (1), establish a polling centre at which are located more than one polling station; except that in that case, the returning officer shall ensure that steps are taken to inform voters as early as possible of the particular polling station at which they are required to vote, that the polling stations are separated by a sufficient distance and also that the circumstances are such as to guarantee orderly voting without confusion” (Electoral Commission Act, 1997).

In the Guidelines for Issuance of Voter Location Slips from the Electoral Commission. The EC is stating the usage of the Section 33 (1) and (2). However, the VLS isn’t mentioned has been introduced by them as a guide to voters. Nevertheless, the needs for this isn’t stated in the law.

There is no place in the Electoral Commission law that the voters needs the VLS to able to vote. Even if the Press Release saying so yesterday. Because, any person who is registered on the voters roll of a polling station and hold a valid voters card.

The Electoral Commission could state this was the usage of voters’ card, which is stated in Section 26 of the Electoral Commission Act. So, if the EC was mentioning this… it would have made sense with the law. However, the VLS seems lie a weird addition for the voter to be able to vote.

The EC should re-assure the citizens and the ones registered that they have gotten the Voters Cards and not VLS. The VLS isn’t even mentioned in the Act or Amendments. So, the EC should focus on the Voters Cards and not VLS.

That is if they don’t want things like these contesting the EC. The EC have already been partisan and not been fair. The General Election as it this time. Doesn’t look anything free or fair. The whole game is rigged. So, these drops of VLS in the last minute. Seems like a trick to block people from voting. Nothing else really.

The EC just following the trends and ensuring the voters are not able to vote. These was also issued in 2016. However, that doesn’t make them legit. Only an sorry excuse to stop people from voting. Since, even if the people is registered and on the voters’ roll, but doesn’t have the VLS won’t be able to vote. The presiding officer can therefore easily stop someone because they lack the VLS. That is a shortcoming and causes trouble for the ones not getting it by the 13th January 2021.

This is a worry and a technicality that can be used against people who is eligible, but blocked because the EC didn’t issue correctly the VLS in-concern to each ward or polling station. Peace.

Uganda Police Force: Update on Crackdown Operation on Acts of Impunity (31.12.2020)

Opinion: New accreditation scheme from the Media Council made to silence media ahead of the polls

Today on the 31st December 2020 is the final day of reckoning in the sense that Uganda Media Council is giving out accreditations to journalists who are supposed to follow the final stretch of the polls. These are people who are already hired and working as journalists. Still, some will be blocked by this technicality.

Like Devosh Matovu of Track UG Channel on Youtube, Rock TV Uganda and Devosh Olwokya Youtube have been denied accreditation this time around.

Also Solomon Kaweesa a journalist working at NTV Uganda has also gotten denied.

These are just two who has gone out publicly with the news that they have lost it. For one reason or another. However, expect more. This might happen to all the outlets the Uganda Communication Commission wrote to Google and Youtube about as well. Ghetto TV and other outlets who are favourable of the opposition will lose their accreditation ahead of the polls. Don’t be shocked if that happens…

That is why the state does it two weeks ahead of the polls. It is a pure bitch move of the state. To take down the ones reporting in favour of the opposition. The Media Council and UCC are working in tandem. These government entities are all favourable for the President and his reign. That is why the ones opposing the state is directly targeted.

It will happen to more and these two is only the beginning. The journalists have to stop following the President and his state in the coming days. They have to defy the pressers and whatnot. If they want to be taken serious. As they are direct targets for updating on what’s happening. Something the state clearly don’t want to happen at this time. As they know their vicious ways. Peace.
