“That demonstration, had two bad elements. Element no.1, was funding from foreign sources that are always meddling in the internal affairs of Africa for the last 600 years ─ slave trade, colonialism, neo-colonialism, genocide, economic exploitation, etc. All those involved, should know that Uganda is not a neo-colony where those shallow schemes can be deployed. The second element, was that some of the authors and participants of the demonstrations, were planning very bad things against the people of Uganda. Those very bad things, will come out in court when those arrested are being tried. It is possible, that some of the participants, did not know of the planned foreign funding and the planned bad things. That is why, they should have listened to the police advice, not to go on with the demonstration. But they rubbished the police advice” – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (25.07.2024).
My oh my… this isn’t the happy days of the late 1980s or 1990s when people where eating the words of the President up. When there was a promise and hope in the Republic. The words of the President is tainted and disingenuous now. A man who has to vilify civilians and the opposition. That’s what the President does here and makes them pawns in a larger scheme, which isn’t true.
The President want to make it belief that the CIA or any sort of foreign interference was participating in this. When the foreign interests and foreign aide have been vital for the reign of himself. Someone who has eaten of the plate of foreigners for decades. The President should take it more calm on this, as this exposes his lack of composure and only further proves how he needs villains. If foreign interests had participated and such, t would have been more organized and been more bodies involved. There should have also been foreigners caught in the act and within the realm of the demonstrations. There been no arrests of foreigners or even proof or evidence pointing in that direction. This was an organic affair made out of internal disputes and tired youths who are seeing no proper change.
Just continue to read his nonsense…
“However, those being funded by foreigners, should stop and report to the Minister of State for Ethics, those that have been funding them. We shall not arrest them. In any case, we know a lot about the goings on in those groups. Our interest is to immunize Uganda against the schemes of the imperialists and their agents” (Museveni, 25.07.2024).
“Next week, I will make a broadcast and discuss more on the issue. I praise the Lord that there was no blood-shed on Tuesday. The fight against corruption, is in my hands. I just need evidence and action will be taken” (Museveni, 25.07.2024).
Let us first remember how the IMF, World Bank and the Bretton Woods entities have been vital for the Presidency of Museveni. Secondly, how the Uganda under Museveni has been an key ally and a helpful partner in the “war on terror” and serving American interests on the African continent. So, please Mr. President… you have been the servant and colonial headmaster that Washington D.C. needed after the fall of Mobutu in the region. So, you are just vilifying the youth and looking foolish doing so.
Another address on corruption will serve no one in 2024. The words and addresses only fills airtime on NTV and NBS Television. He will speak for hours and it won’t amount to much. Only more hearsay and lack of proper decorum. Only more words and less of official actions in regards to corruption, as the President only duplicates more offices, but doesn’t capture or stop the practice that is embedded within the high ranking officials who are encircling his State House. Peace.

Today was a tense day. Luckily, there haven’t been news or reports of lethal use this time around. Neither been to vicious and violent crackdown on the protesters.
Still there been reports of arrests up to about 50. There been use of excessive force and man handling by the authorities. Therefore, civilians have lost their ability to demonstrate and petition the state.
We aren’t shocked by this. The army was in the streets. Roads to the Parliament was sealed off. Soldiers and police was prepared to use preventive measures.
Today the ones that was arrested are the heroes of the Republic. The ones who dared to challenge the state and speak out their peace. Civilians showing up and shouting their lungs our. These are heroes who stood up to the armed law enforcement of the state today.
They are now charged with being “idle and disorderly”. A part from the Penal Code, which is a relic of the British colonial times. The sort of legislation the Empire used to silence its critics. Now the liberators of the 1980s bushwar uses it again.
This isn’t a winning formula. It shows that the state is not there for the citizens. The state is there for the ruling regime. That’s it.
The March to Parliament today only proves that. The NRM and Museveni isn’t there for the people, but are there for selfish interests. Peace.

The ones thinking tomorrow will be peaceful or even in respect of the constitutional rights every single citizen has to assemble and petition the state. Well..
I hate to be this blunt, but in Kampala that doesn’t matter. The authorities are already in high alert. They have preventive arrested opposition MPs and other elected officials across Kampala. Sealed off the National Unity Platform (NUP) headquarters too. So, everything is in motion.
The ones daring to protest tomorrow will be met by lethal forces. The army, police force and whoever’s state sanctioned to carry arms. They will be armed and use swift force. They will crackdown and there will be blood on the streets. A body will be left behind on the pavement. That’s how the state operates and we have seen this play out before too.
The ones marching to the Parliament risks it all. They are daring a junta and rogue government.
I wish it was differently and that the Constitutional order mattered. However, we sadly know that isn’t the case. This is why press are tired and want to protest. They aren’t listened too or a concern for the state. Just pawns and assets they can trade in hours of need.
So, expect tear-gas live-bullets and murder in the city tomorrow. The arms are prepared and in ordered to be there. These will be used against unarmed civilians pleading their case.
We should be worried, we should be aggy and it’s within our rights to be just that. Families scorn, families mourning and lives taken for granted by the authorities who deemed it right to take it. It shouldn’t be this way… but here we are. Peace.

“When you demonstrate in a place like Kampala, people are selling their products on the road side. Are you going to step on people’s products? You are playing. Do not have such ideas in your head. What right do you have to seek to generate chaotic behavior? We are busy producing wealth; you are getting cheap food, people in other parts of the world are starving, and you are here, you want to disturb us. You are playing with fire. While we wealth creators are busy creating wealth for Uganda, some elements, some in the opposition are always working with foreigners to ferment chaos in Uganda: riots, illegal demonstrations, illegal and inconsiderate processions, etc. These people are unfair and inconsiderate. They should check themselves or we will have no option but to check them” – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (20.07.2024).
It is like article 29(d) of the 1995 constitution doesn’t exists or isn’t enacted anymore. It is like the words of the Constitution is useless and just wasted ink. As the Republic and the Authorities isn’t bound by law and isn’t in need of abiding by it. Alas, that’s wherein the problems remain.
The article itself says this:
“freedom to assemble and to demonstrate together with others peacefully and unarmed and to petition” (Article 29(d) of the 1995 Constitution).
This is under Chapter Four of the Constitution and parts of the “positive” rights a citizen has in the Republic. These words was written and put into place for a reason. Therefore, it is rich hearing and reading the words of the President.
The Self-Styled President-for-Life has chosen his path. The narrow road of impunity and collective punishment of the population. As if his the only man whose words matters and who is the embodiment of the law. That’s how the President operates and it shows.
He speaks of generating wealth and such, but his more busy scheming and finding new methods of looting for his elite. That’s what is his key enterprise and this is why people are tired of his system. A system and a state that is vicious against the dissidents and who makes an unholy elite richer than God. That’s why the elites favours the President and they hope his reign never ends. Because his the reason why they are eating and living so lavish in the first place. However, they are only a small minority and not the huge part of the population.
Citizens should demonstrate and revolt. They should do so peacefully and assemble in the streets. We know the President and the authorities won’t allow it. It is going against the nature of the National Resistance Movement and Museveni himself. His supposed to be the one with the final say and his word is the law after all.
President Museveni acts like he is the sole beneficiary and the overlord who ensures everyone, which he doesn’t and cannot do. He doesn’t have the ability or the skill-set to facilitate such a state. That’s why it’s all a mirage and empty pledges, which he never intends to fulfil. We have seen that for years. He can create more offices and cronies can be appointed to duplicated government entities, but they won’t amount to anything. Except for getting another one on the hook and being on the payroll of the state.
Meanwhile, the grievances and the losses of the citizens are falling behind. They are seeing the lacklustre attempts of governance. The numbers games and the jinxing of promises, which are never ever finished. Government schemes are collapsing or if not defaulting. Ghosts are appearing and lack of government oversight is rampant, because if there was someone being proper. That one would find a scandal, would find a heist and the whistleblower would be gone in a minute. Therefore, the President Museveni rather wants to silence his critics and have less talk.
Only his voice of reason matters anyway. The rest is just noise. His words and opinions can make a change. The voices of the people are just scattering and incoherent bickering, which won’t resolve any bottleneck. That’s why he rather dismiss them completely and threaten anyone for speaking up. That’s the liberation and the freedom that the President has to offer in 2024. A man who fought for freedom and liberation, but only freed himself and his fellow cronies. Peace.

In the last few days the National Unity Platform (NUP) was blocked from having their 4 Year Anniversary at the Kololo Independence Grounds. Days later the authorities has now blocked and disengaged with the organizers of the march to Parliament on the 23rd July 2024.
All of this is happening days apart and is a part of a bigger story. A story with one main culprit and his sort of governance. That is all connected to the false liberation and the bush-war era, which is only allowing “one vision” and following the NRA Way. The ones who falls astray and goes elsewhere has to be crashed, destroyed or silenced. That’s what is the matter here…
The NUP dared to ask and hope to hold a celebration at the Kololo. The Kololo that is used for government events, the Presidential Affairs and whatever the National Resistance Movement (NRM) deems fit. That’s a place for the government, His Excellency and whoever are in association with him. Others aren’t deemed fit or only if they entertain, bring the bread and circus and goes home. That’s whose allowed there and the NUP would never bring that to the table.
The Parliament on the other hand is just totally mute. That the civilians and the citizens dared to ask this question. They are by law and by the constitution allowed to gather or even assemble in demonstrations. However, we know by the Public Order Management Act (POMA) that this has been restricted and stopped plenty of times. The state will attack it viciously and without any hesitation to answer with lethal means. That has been shown before and would happen again if the public would dare to go against the will of the authorities.
The NRM and Museveni have no interests for the NUP or the demonstrations outside the Parliament. The public are supposed to be subdued and not care. They are supposed to be happy with cents on the dollar. They are supposed to be silent and await the next dance. Not supposed to question the authorities or even speak out against that.
The President cannot have that. The state cannot accept that sort of behaviour. The citizens are just supposed to relieve themselves and be silent. Not act upon their best interests or speak. That’s who they are supposed to be. Therefore, the President and the Authorities aren’t interested in hearing their grievances. They are supposed to be beggars and be lucky for mere shillings randomly.
The lesson here is that state is a closed of scene. The ones who fights or speaks out against it will be met with force. Citizens should be allowed to carry out their duties, but we know the gist of the NRM. We know the parties are blocked and not allowed entry at certain stages. That is what is happening everywhere and it’s been going on for years.
Museveni and NRM can lie to the world, but we all know their game. They are giving no way and telling people they got the answers. There will be no celebration and the march will be shut down. The one who dares to challenge the state will suffer. The state has no issues to abduct, torture or even kill. That’s what it does…
The crickets are maybe silent, but sooner or later the truth will come out. The skeletons will be revealed. The authorities and the state cannot hide the reality forever. That’s who it is and how it operates. Peace.

“You come and join the group led by Kyagulanyi whom you know are ‘drunkos’ and drug users? They appoint you to be deputy president to that one who leaders these ‘drunkos’ and drug users. You accept and even thank them. The same group appoint you the leadership of opposition and you even clap and thank them. The drug users appoint you commissioner, you accept and thank them” – Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine (05.07.2024).
Some day, somehow, somewhere they will discuss the stalemate and the political arguing between Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and Mathias Mpuuga MP. That will be the talk and show the vast difference between them too.
Today’s Press at the National Unity Platform (NUP) Headquarters was about more than internal squabble. It was about deeper issues and more pressing ones. I only reflect this one, because this the most direct Bobi Wine has been. The party itself has directed and given warnings to Mpuuga MP, which he has ignored. Only talked about further consultation and whatnot. While trying to look supreme and hold a Thanksgiving to look more prestigious. While he has shunned functions and haven’t participated within the ranks as he used too. Therefore, being defiant by the party that gave him room, trusted him and gave him the ability to live a lavish life.
Alas, that’s why its ironic that he said these things over the weekend in Mityana District!
“Tell those interested in leadership positions to stop going to bars, getting drunk and smoking marijuana” (…) “If you want to be a leader, you must be sober 24 hours a day. The person we want to push away doesn’t go to bars, he’s always sober. And he doesn’t even drink wine” – Mathias Mpuuga (30.06.2024).
Mpuuga needs to listen to Bobi Wine. He needs to acknowledge what sort of role the NUP gave him. How they have entrusted him and how he betrayed their cause. Mpuuga MP was supposed to be working towards the same goal as his party. However, he went astray and found other greener pastures. That’s why his been eating of people’s plate and doesn’t want to be held accountable for feast he was served.
Certainly Bobi Wine cannot accept it. That’s why the NUP tried to direct and talk sense to Mpuuga MP. They wanted him out as a man of an honourable role in Parliament. They entrusted him with the role of Commissioner and that’s a role he misused. We can just wonder if he did the same as Leader of Opposition. Nevertheless, the trust is broken and there is no return back to normal. Especially, when Mpuuga is defying the party and not following the directions it has given him.
Bobi Wine only did what was right and called Mpuuga MP out on his nonsense. As his more working against the party that gave him a role and blessed him with opportunities. Not like he could have the same sort of opportunities or ability to national prominence in the Democratic Party. No, that wouldn’t be the case and Mpuuga MP knows that.
It is time for Mpuuga MP to reflect upon himself. Think why he went this way and why he corrupted his soul. It’s depressing seeing how he has become and what his willing to do. Such a character assassination and his pulling the gun himself. Doing a Russian roulette in plain sight and for everyone to see. He should know better, but pride is taking the best of him. The hubris and arrogance isn’t helping him either, Just because his eloquent in speaking doesn’t mean his a great character amongst men. No, it is just means he has some big words to flex and sound better than common folk. That’s it, but his not… and the “service award” will haunt him indefinitely. Peace.
“This country is looking for leaders in the coming years. It could be 2026 or beyond. They (NUP) know that in the corridors of power, my name is surfacing; those discussing politics and national leadership have my name on the front pages” – Mathias Mpuuga (July 2024)
The former Leader of Opposition and current Parliamentary Commissioner, the National Unity Platform (NUP) Member of Parliament, Mathias Mpuuga thinks high and mighty about himself. Not it’s shocking of any sorts, as he just held his Thanksgiving in Masaka, but it wasn’t as big or creating as much buzz as the man wanted.
Mpuuga MP surely wanted the welcoming factor, which the NUP Mobilization Tour had in Masaka. Nevertheless, he was able to have a gathering and look fabulous for one day. While there was no big fanfare or huge crowds cheering his name.
We know Mpuuga MP wants to be relevant. He needs to be in the headlines and be newsworthy. We are seeing how he thinks about himself. A man who thinks he is above the rest. A man with the head above the clouds. A hero without a cape.
That’s who Mpuuga MP thinks he is. The MP who has been able to be appointed to honourable roles and looked as a promising leader. However, his greed and ambition is self-serving. Instead of being a honourable and a representative for the betterment. His a man who fights his own wars for his own benefit. That’s why he cannot take orders and follow party line when it asks for it.
We understand why Mpuuga MP is a journeyman who has joined forces with Go-Forward, been a Democratic Party MP and is now NUP MP. Therefore, his a man who can easily change banners and does so for a meal-ticket. Before the 2026 he might join someone else or create his own. Meanwhile, he has not distanced himself totally from the NUP or the leadership that has rebuked him for his actions. The NUP tries to be credible and follow their principles, which is in contrast to Mpuuga MP himself.
Mpuuga MP would rebuke and come with strong warnings against people like himself. When he was a younger activist, he would have written Press Releases and Pieces as Activists for Change (A4C) Coordinator against greedy MPs like himself. That’s who he used to be and now he wants to be praised for his eloquent English. Alas, there is more than just being able to use “big words” to become a “big man”.
He can think his the future, but that future is thwarted by his own actions. People remember the Service Award and how he didn’t act righteous. How can you believe such a shallow and greedy man? What can be his next trick?
This man can easily find ways to eat of the public coffers and defend it with ease. That’s who Mpuuga is. Peace.

“The government has done so many things, but our common people, have not got rich. If they don’t want to get rich in peace, we shall make you rich by force. We shall take you to the police and make a statement on why your brother is rich as you remain poor” – Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja (30.06.2024)
It isn’t the fault of the citizens that the government programs aren’t working. It isn’t the citizens fault that they are not able to participate or get benefits from the government programs. That is the fault of the government that haven’t made programs that fits the citizens.
This is the issue of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) who is making the same sort of program and policies, but only changes the names. They are pushing for same sort of silver-lining bullet, but it won’t hit as hard as they want it too. These sorts of promises has been made before and never properly implemented.
It is rich that the Prime Minister wants to apprehend and get statements from citizens who fails to benefit from these government schemes. It isn’t like these schemes has been tailor-made for them or been studied for the needs of the citizens before launching. They are often used to siphoned funds and misuse of office of a few. Ghosts are paid and the living are only seeing a few cents on a dollar. So, please Prime Minister explain why it’s the poor’s fault when the state is failing.
We have seen micro-finance schemes since the 1990s from the NRM. Nevertheless, these schemes and programs haven’t amounted to anything substantial. They haven’t been the one thing to get people out of poverty. Neither has the government ensured enough financial policies to ensure a safeguard and trust in the economy. They are leaving people behind and not taking itself into account.
That’s why its easy for the PM to blame the citizens. The PM is blaming the ones she’s serving in office and wants to give them punitive action. Instead of trying to understand or find new measures to help people out. She’s instead wanting to humiliate and mock the ones struggling already.
That’s the reality here… all the poor who never gets out of poverty is a sign of where the NRM lost its way. It has had close to 4 decades in power. The NRM has had the time and ability to make a difference, but it hasn’t delivered anything yet. That is a tale of lost time and lost decades. A time that was misused and was a trick of the trade.
The PM should consider her stance, maybe show some empathy, and maybe even humble herself a little bit. It is a reason why people are poor, and the state is a reason for it. The way it top-down things and doesn’t work from bottom-up. That’s one reason, which it has never considered or reflected upon. However, if it did… then the high-ranking officials couldn’t eat of their plate or find tricks of the trade to benefit themselves on behalf of the poor. Peace.
