Opinion: Museveni, running for his eight term… [1986-2026]

Well, the scholars will say its his 6^th Term, which I defiantly says “no” too. That is not true. They are currently saying his on his fifth term. That he was elected in 2016 for his 5^th. However, if you do that, then your taking away his first 10 years in power. You are initially deleting the years between 1986 to 1996 and that is not fair. That is unjustified behaviour and rewriting history. The Republic of Uganda doesn’t deserve that.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is currently in his Seventh Term. You can calculate the 5 times and see that I am onto something. That the man who has run the Republic are in his 34 years in power and by 2021 is at his 35^th. By the end of the next term he will be close to 40 years. Which by dividing 40 by 5 turns into 8. It is every simple Math.

I know, I will read in the big-media houses like BBC, AP News and others where it will say that his going for his 6^th Term. These fellas who write that doesn’t care that he went a decade in power without any elections. That he suspended it and didn’t want to hold any. No, they are just making click-bait and not holding the President accountable. He should be counted for the first years of his presidency. Even if his achievements from those years are long forgotten and his killing of enemies those years. Are also long time buried and dead.

Never the less. Let me just reissue this short time. So, that everyone understands my equation and how I get to 8^th Term for Museveni. This here should be the gist, but I am sad to say. The international media will say its 6^th because they don’t know better.

Short Timeline:

1986-1991 First Term by seizing power/coup d’etat,

1991-1996 Second Term by suspending elections.

1996-2001 Third Term by First Election after the coup d’etat.

2001-2006 Fourth Term, Second Election. Abolishing Presidential Term Limits.

2006-2011 Fifth Term, Third Election – First Multi-Party Elections since the Coup d’etat.

2011-2016 Sixth Term – Fourth Election.

2016-2021 Seventh Term – Fifth Election  -Abolishing Presidential Age Limits.

2021-2026 Eight Term –Sixth Election

This is just my gist of it and how easily it can be calculated. Something, I find important, because all years should count. Not only the timeline from the election in 1996 until now. Than the same media houses should say he has ruled for 24 years, instead of 34. Why?

They are not counting it in the sense of terms, when they are accepting not to count the 10 years of suspended elections and coup d’etat. If your straight about, be straight forward and not glean in the middle.

Take the whole account, the whole time served and not just from the first election. That is just fair. This President has rigged elections and will rig the upcoming one in 2021 too. It is just a matter of levels and to what extent. Also, what sort of play he wants to do. He decides. His legacy is already tarnished and this election will not make it better.

His the soon, eight term president. Remember that. It is insane, but still true. Peace.

Opinion: The Wealth Creation Tour is all about Museveni being the sole candidate not Wealth Creation!

Well, lets settle this ONCE and for ALL. That the trip paid by the taxpayers, by the state to usher in the Operation Wealth Creation Tour, which is a big hoopla by the State House and the President himself. Where he has stages, convoys and sign-offs on projects all across the Republic. Isn’t for the betterment of the state, the citizens or financial growth.

This is all to boast the ego of the President and seal his “victory” internally in the National Resistance Movement to become the SOLE CANDIDATE for NRM and be the eternal guiding star of the “movement”, which isn’t really moving. What the movement is really doing is repeating itself and hoping no-one notices it.

The President is going on a overdrive to campaign for himself, because he needs to settle the score. Even if he is saying exactly the same thing he did 20 years ago in a godforsaken district, which he has split twice since taken the reign. He has maybe said the same for 30 years ago, but who are able to follow all the pledges and promises of the promise-land. Everybody is just busy praising him and ensuring that they will be counted for after the next election.

That is why every village NRM chairman, every LCV and district representative is signing off on charts and on posters, proclaiming Museveni as the SOLE Candidate for 2021. Like it is a secret, like this is a mysterious cult of leadership, where only he can lead them. Because that’s how it seems. They are not even trying to have delegates and an internal election held by Dr. Tanga Odoi. Odoi is in this picture the ugly duck, just catching a envelope for being the chairman of the NRM Electoral Commission. His role there is pointless in concern, as by visiting Mubende district, the President has visited 15^th districts to boast his ego.

He has his ordinary agenda, his speech and his loyal cronies following him there. They are blindly putting out the same statements and tokens of representation. These old same-old, same-old stories and proof of what the public need to do. Because, the old man is guiding them, while his campaign on behalf of himself. That is what he does. This trip is all about him. Not about Wealth Creation. That is just the mask of it, the usage of expression for what it really is. To make him look vibrant and ready, to usher in the 9^th Term in office and ensure that none one will question him.

That is what the President is doing on his Wealth Creation Tour. He isn’t guiding people into wealth or earning a fortune. No, his ensuring his own position and using the state reserves doing so. He will continue to do so. Because he can and he will. Surely, there will be more than opening roads paid by the World Bank and other donor agencies. Yes, there will soon be gifts doled out to village chiefs, RDCs and whatnot to ensure their loyalty. That is what he does. Peace.

Opinion: Why not just endorse Mzee for 2026?

Well, the Museveni Wealth Creation Tour of 2019 is continuing and the stories, the endless endorsements in every creek, corner and by everyone breathing is there. I am anticipating a vote for the almighty by the association of goats, wild boars and guinea pigs by the end of next month.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is preparing for 2021, but cannot he just start to do so for the 2026 or the next after that? Since his already doling money and asking for favours like he always do. The President can offer more City Statuses and create more districts. So, that we all can be confused and also the Electoral Commission, so that it cannot see the difference between a previous sub-county and the new district in Kaabong. That is just what is up.

The National Resistance Movement and Government of Uganda, acts like this the new normal. That the President is running around like it is no tomorrow, even when the EC have told that no one should campaign before the Elections Road Map, which is a saga in itself. Not that Bosco or Jajja listens, but we couldn’t expect that from a man with advanced age. These people usually doesn’t listen to younger folks, but gives them lectures. Just like this president does all the time.

That is why the NRM, if it was honest, if it was sincere, would already endorse Museveni for 2026. Even if it many years in advance. Well, 2019 is only two years in advance of the General Election of 2021 and by this count its only 7 years ahead. A little over one term and a bit. Just like it’s a bit and then its polls again.

Well, we know this will not happen, because that would be foolish. Even if it foolish to have the same sole candidate, the same flag-bearer as chairman for 33 years and counting. Well, his the guiding star, the only one close to God and the only one with an vision. So, forgive me for not understanding his place on planet earth. No one can pass his being, his position nor his grace. That is why his the eternal fountain of honour, the one mere mortals only shall ask favours from.

Therefore, if the mere mortals are wise, they could start endorsing him for 2026 to ensure and show loyalty 7 years in advance. That will show the world, the district, the sub-county and their baby mama, that they are genuine supporters of the President. Not like these other fools, who only pledge two years in advance. The people had better show support and now, as they need to get the golden touch, the vision and enlightenment from his almighty now.

No time to throw away. Time to do it now. Peace.

Opinion: [Nothing to see here] Museveni is not campaigning folks!

“President Yoweri Museveni has urged the people of Wakiso to avoid opposition politicians come 2021. This as he presided over the 30th Heroes day celebration in Kasanje town in Wakiso District” (NBS Television, 09.06.2019).

Well, the Electoral Commission has confessed to the public, that unless politicians are campaigning before the Election Road Map, they advice them not to do so and the authorities are allowed to strike with terrible vengeance upon them.

However, the President and his convoy are allowed to travel everywhere. His fellow comrades and supporters are saying this Operation Wealth Creation Tour, the Manifesto Week and such is just spreading the news of his achievements during this current term. However, the President have become the SOLE CANDIDATE and has been ENDORSED in every village and hut his past by. He has hold political rallies and used his usual voter tourism strategy.

We could just stand idly by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni driving to every stage up-county like its nothing. Spending money like it is no tomorrow. But we all seen this before, as he launching 0,9 km roads and speaking ill of competitors. That is just the way he is and has been for ages. Even if he claims to be longer in opposition, than in government. Someone, please do the Math.

Alas, here we are again, short run up to the elections. No serious electoral reforms, the same rigging machinery in place another blown-up budget and surely there will be a second coming for that. As there is one more calendar year and fiscal year before the polls. There will empty state coffers and the will be several of supplementary funds, which comes to the State House. As they need extra funds for water, wages and whatnot at the State House. Not that its spending on the campaigns, t-shirts, buses, foods, entertainment and a box of Arua Stones. No, no, no, it is spend on the furniture of the President and his Presidential Advisors, all the hundred of them.

We can lie to ourselves, even if the NRM Party says his not campaigning as the sole candidate and getting endorsed. The NRM can say this doesn’t matter, because his not stipulated officially yet by the NRM CEC or NRM internally. However, this will just be rubber-stamped and move along with a photo-session where he runs and goes to the NRM EC and gets the paper by Dr. Tanga Odoi. Dr. Odoi wouldn’t dare to field another candidate against him. That would be the end of Odoi’s career and he would have to flee to Europe as quickly as possible.

Therefore, the NRM and Museveni can lie saying they haven’t been campaigning and only championing the Steady Progress paradigm, while traversing the Republic. But we all know what it is and what he does. If not, he wouldn’t need to be ENDORSED in every village by every goat, man and fellow matooki branch, but apparently he does. Peace.

Opinion: Museveni knows his overstaying, but he doesn’t care!

“Ours is not a mere change of guards but a fundamental change. The problem of Africa in general and Uganda in particular is not people, but leaders who want to overstay in power which breeds impunity, corruption and promotes patronage….For us in NRM/A, we shall be here for only four years, after which we shall hand over power to a free and fairly elected civilian government” – Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on the 26th January 1986

This weekend he defended himself again, therefore, we just have to prove what he said in his inauguration in 1986. As the words can now be said about himself. His is part of the problem in Africa. Yet another leader that overstays, which breeds impunity, corruption and promotes patronage. This is something President Museveni does on a grand scale in 2019. The words said for over 33 years could been said about him. It is like he has gone through all the stages and become the enemy of his own words. Which is showing his indifference and his lack of care.

The people who is busy defending him now, is busy eating and dodging the bullets. As they are eating and not in trouble, not having lack of funds and are secured, as they are part of the overgrowing patronage of the state. The people who are leeching of the state and the ones that the President needs support from. This is why, his defends of his actions to stay longer. Is an issue, that he has to defend. As the President knows the reality, that his advanced age and cannot even stand as a surety for someone, his to old if we have learned the codes from Bobi Wine’s latest trial.

Alas, this is what he said during the recent days:

“Those people who talk about term limits and that a 75-year-old cannot lead a country is a lie. Those are just stupid ideas. The Banyankore have a proverb that when you have food, you sound a small drum, but if you sound alarm for war, you make it big so that more people can come and join. So, people think leadership in Africa is like food. I have seen that leadership in Africa is like a struggle, it is like war” – Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on the 11^th May 2019 in Koboko

Certainly, the words of him taking power is stupid ideas now, as they have to be deflected, because if these was ideals and words the President meant. He wouldn’t have abolished the term limits and the age limit. However, he don’t care about a principal, when it concerns him. Everyone else has to follow it or be law abiding citizens, but he can changes laws to fit his life. That is the sort of President he is.

We can easily see, that the man of 1986 would kill the one of 2019. He would have used Luwero methods on himself and gotten some of his NRA general to assassinate him. That is just a mere fact.

We can shed tears or we can move along like its nothing… If not, we can support defiance and wish of the ideology of the words of 1986, the UPM and not the vampire state of NRM in 2019. Peace.

President Museveni: Eight Time the Charm?

“I thank my Colleagues in CEC and the NRM Parliamentary Caucus for forwading my name to continue adding more steps on our mission-oriented journey. Am therefore very pleased with your confidence in me and since am still very able and I happen to be among the most conversant with this journey, I happily agree to serve” – Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on the 18^th March 2019 at Kyankwanzi Summit

I am tired of reading in the media, both local and international, that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is running for the Sixth Term starting on the 2021 to 2016. I beg to differ, because like last time before the General Election in 2016. They we’re stating and saying he was going into his fifth term, which for me was also false. I am the sort of man, that claims this President is already serving his seventh term and going into his eight.

I have in the past explained it thoroughly, today I will be more relaxed, because this should be common knowledge. If it isn’t let, me enlighten you about this old man with the hat. There is a reason why he has a magical date of 29^th January 1986, when he was sworn in for the first time after a brutal civil-war to seize power. Something, the President have never intended to leave ever since.

That is why he stopped elections until 1996, even if that a “No-Party” Elections and a part of the Movement System. This is where people start to count, as there was elections, but by doing so. Than, your deleting without thinking the decade between 1986 to 1996. That is disgraceful to the civil-war or the Bush-War and even to the ones fighting to hold elections in the mean time.

As the President ushered his constitution the year before in 1995, an Constitution he has amended plenty times since. So that he would be eligible for a re-election. Therefore, with all of this, we have a decade before the first election after seizing power and knowing the Republic have 5 year terms. Meaning, that before the 1996 elections. The President have practically had two terms already. So his third was between 1996 to 2001.

His fourth term was the 2001-2006, which was the term where the President abolished the Presidential Term Limits, so that he was eligible for another term and also had a referendum for a Multi-Party Democracy, meaning more parties than the National Resistance Movement (NRM) could run. Because, the government lost that Referendum, the other parties was able to run as well. So, that the Movement System, which was announced with the seizing of power had to be abolished.

From here, he went into his fifth term between the 2006 – 2011. He continued to push it to his sixth on the 2011 – 2016. It is here things started to get hectic. As he continues to be in power. A sixth term should be more than enough, than he had already had 30 years in power. However, this President is still power-hungry. Because of this he went on for the 7 term, which is between 2016 to 2021.

In the midst of this term, he has changed the Constitution to abolish the Age Limit, just like he terminated the Term Limits, he ditched the Age Limit, so that he is eligible for the up-coming election in the year of 2021. Which in is my opinion, the eighth term.

1991-1996 Second Term by suspending elections.

1996-2001 Third Term by first elections after the coup d’etat.

2001-2006 Fourth Term, Second Elections. Abolishing Presidential Term Limits.

That is the simplification of the hardships, the toils, the sweet and the tears of dictatorship, where they are trying to make it look like he has spent less time in power.

His reign has been active since 1986, even if there was no elections, that time before the 1996 should still count. If not, the international media and others are only validating the time after 1996, which is foolish. That is distasteful.

That is why, his not going for sixth term, that was already done by 2016, before the recent term, which is his seventh. Now, as he is the not so breaking news, the sole candidate of the NRM. He is running for the eight time. Surely before his dead, he will have run for 10 terms and seen more American President, than the Queen of England. Peace.

Otafiire is wrong on Museveni: He will not leave by the ballot, but when he dies!

“President Museveni will only go when you stop voting him not shouting. Nobody will shout Museveni out of office. The only way that you can remove Museveni from office is when you stop voting him” says Maj.Gen. Kahinda Otafiire in Ibanda” (Daily Monitor, 31.08.2018).

This is not a positive message, because there are really no narrative in this manner and with the times that can be like this. If President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni had shown any signs of giving way or even planning succession, the words of an election would have sounded real. However, for someone saying that knows perfectly well how the President is, Otafiire knows his words isn’t true.

Otafiire says Museveni will only leave if he voted out of office! How is that even possible? The Presidential Elections are filled with intimidation, rigging and securing the President by any means. There are no math, no possibility that Museveni will ever run a free and fair election. He will not let the people decide, he has already made his decision and the result is well-known, year in advance. Museveni has run the Republic since 1986.

He lost an election in 1980 and have never lost one since, the first one in 1996 and since then had total control. There haven’t been much change or significant changes since Multi-Party Elections happened in 2006. Which was something Museveni was against, he wanted everything in-house and under his umbrella. That is something he still wants and therefore, wants everyone to get people who will follow his guidelines and his vision from the State House. That is why he is saying people are misguided and wrong, when they pick leaders that he cannot order directly around.

Otafiire knows all this and has to change the narrative, because any government who meets to much internal pressure will fall. You are able to detain people, but not have the power to arrest the whole population. You might have the ability to torture the leaders and key activists, but you cannot torture all people. You cannot kill all opposition or everyone standing in the way of the King, but you can take out the chosen few who challenge the leadership. That is all well-known things for Otafiire. That is what the NRM has done since inception in the 1980s. One-by-One as it has been needed. The difference, is that now the news isn’t only in print, but the words and reactions from the oppression hits the web in minutes.

NO ELECTION will ever change the throne. That is not how to dismantle the rule of Museveni, if so, then there would have been a possibility in 1996, 2001, 2006, 2011 and 2016. Neither of them, there was any chances for anyone else to win. Even as the decades has gone and the time of liberation has shown to be the same as the tyrants before. Museveni was supposed to bring progress, but bringing more regress.

Otafiire knows, this the people should know too, as the military and army are in the streets. Because Museveni and NRM doesn’t have the love of the people, if they did, why do they need to guard the streets? They should secure the sovereign state’s borders and not occupy their own territory. That is what Museveni does and Otafiire knows that too.

Otafiire might have a blurred vision or is so loyal, that he have to spin it. Since he wouldn’t be relevant or even have Cabinet Post. If it wasn’t for the brownie points he has already scored with the President, he wouldn’t be there today.

The NRM apologists can lie to the public, but some of us has to address it, because we knows better. Peace.

Opinion: Why does every By-Election these days look like a War-Zone?

Let us be honest for a minute, the recent By-Elections under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, have become more hostile and more militarized, where the big guns, the soldiers and the mambas are all over the place. That is happening today in Sheema Muncipality in Ibanda and in Bugiri Muncipality in Busoga sub-region. Both National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidates and opposition contest in both of them.

What is striking today is the efforts of the police and the army to intimidate in both places. In Sheema Muncipality and in Bugiri Muncipality, the Army and Soldiers are armed to their teeth. Like there is a war going on, and not a democratic exercise on who gets to represent the people in the newly created districts. No, no, it looks like a war story and someone is going to die!

Seriously, who brings the war machine to an election, if they are not fearing for losing it? Who isn’t bringing the police to arrest opposition activist on the day of the poll and not afraid of losing it?

If the NRM was so steady and had a message, had a mandate and trust in the community, would they need the UPDF and the Police Force to settle intimidation into their eyes. Seriously? I beg to ask!

You can say what you want about elections and about campaigning, but when the ruling regime and the orders from above, is to send a brigades of soldiers to the polls. You know something is wrong, you know that these elections are no good. That is just a common knowledge. Maybe not for Ofwono Opondo or Frank Tumwebaze, but for the rest of us it is.

This isn’t a sign of strength, but more of weakness, of a justification of harassing and intimidating the public. Just because you can and because you have the army. This isn’t there to secure democratic values or secure the public. Than, the soldiers would have bases there and await a sudden strike from an enemy. Not suddenly come out of their barracks and post up in the middle of towns and poll stations in the early mist of morning. No, that isn’t it.

Maybe, just maybe, the NRM thinks so, but than they are gallantly, stupid and I cannot blame them anymore. They are just the National Rwakitura Movement, where all citizens are his cows and he is just waiting to spoil their milk. That is just what is up.

Are the NRM so afraid of losing, that they have to order soldiers in the street to prove they exists and that they can hurt you, if you don’t obey every command made by Museveni? Is that it, is that the magic potion to get people on board. If so, than the President have forgotten Franz Fanon and his wisdom.

As the war-zones of Sheema and Bugiri have smiled to us today and God knows how the tallies will be. Let me end with the words of Fanon.

“The state, which by its strength and discretion ought to inspire confidence and disarm and lull everybody to sleep, on the contrary seeks to impose itself in spectacular fashion. It makes a display, it jostles people and bullies them, thus intimating to the citizen that he is in continual danger. The single party is the modern form of the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, unmasked, unpainted, unscrupulous, and cynical” (Frantz Fanon – ‘The Wretched of the Earth, P: 164, 1961).

Opinion: If the Sheema Rally is how you feel Mzee, please reinstate the Resistance Councils and abolish Multi-Party Democracy!

“That is why it is important to elect representatives who sit in the NRM caucus where decisions are made and who can lobby for projects for you” – Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on the 20^th July 2018.

I think the time is up for fooling everyone. I am tired of the old man and his wisdom. Yesterday, he proven again, that the Multi-Democracy of Uganda isn’t important to the President. The act of putting it into law in 2005. Was just to make the donors happy, because he really shows disregard for the people’s will to pick the candidates and not the ones he has prepared for them. He wants loyal tin-soldiers to follow his whims from the State House when he calls in the NRM Caucus, which means all elected majority of Parliament at his place. That is why he shields the opposition out and silence them.

“Stop playing with politics. I have told you that in 1962, people though politics was a joke. The resultant was loss of lives; we suffered.” (…) “That woman [opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate Virginia Plan Mugyenyi] will not help you at all,” said Museveni. Also the NRM chairman, Museveni said Mugyenyi, like Mwijukye, would have no access to the party’s caucus meetings which discuss development projects. He reminded the voters that NRM had the numbers in parliament and it would be safe for them to vote for Tumwesigye if they wanted to see Sheema Municipality develop” (Samuel Kamugisha – ‘Museveni: Mwijukye Is A Useless MP; I Struck Buhweju Off Uganda’s Map’ 20.07.2018).

Let’s be clear, if you feels this way Mr. President, stop the charades, be the real self and reinstate the Resistance Councils of 1986-87. So that the Local Councils and Local Government can be all in-house and controlled from the State House and through the Office of the President. Just the way you want it.

While you at it, since the Members of Parliament from other parties have no value. Pleas, just Please, make the state a ONE-PARTY State. That will be real you and the sincere judgment of what you are Mr. President. Museveni, you are already showing disregard for Mwijukye and his time as an MP. Therefore, why do you even bother with elections and doesn’t just ask for having direct elections of MPs through the NRM Primaries and internally. There isn’t any reason to have Multi-Party in Parliament if they are not existing to you.

You are directly diminishing the districts and sub-counties that has voted in favor of the opposition. You are showing what sort of disgrace of a man you are. Mr. President if you represent that other than your own narrow mind, you would be there for all communities, no matter who represents them to in Parliament. However, that is not the case and is shown with your meager display in Sheema Municipality.

Be real, be honest Mr. President. You are not representing the whole country, just the NRM. If you want it all NRM, abolish Multi-Party Democracy and also reinstate the Resistance Councils of the 1980s. Than, you would be honest with yourself and your dictating ways, also the public would know the real you. Not the fake forgery of a man you really are.

President Museveni, we are tired of lies and deception. Just show the real you, as you are directing everyone of your tin-soldiers from the State House, through your decrees and decisions. Instead of having several other parties within the Parliament. Just let the people decide who they think is the best within NRM and not have others. If you are for this.

“Upon capturing power, the NRM introduced the Movement political system, under which all Ugandans belonged. The Movement united Ugandans under one political system and partly cured the deep-seated sectarianism that has been sowed by the political parties. Political party activities were formally suspended in 1992” (Pascal Kwesiga – ‘NRM’s political achievements’ NEW VISION, Tuesday, January 26, 2016).

So, please Mr. President, just go back to the real you. Suspend political party activities and make sure all are under the umbrella of the NRM. If you have the feeling that opposition MPs are useless and their areas doesn’t exists anymore. Than, you might just abolish it and stop the faking it to the Republic. You might have done this to please foreign donors, but those you don’t care about anymore. We know this and they know it too.

Stop playing and show the real self. Your already President for Life. Show the reality and stop playing. It is getting real old. Peace.

Tired of President Museveni’s “1986”!

I know I am born in 1985, but I am tired of the year of 1986 and the year National Resistance Army (NRA). The now National Resistance Movement (NRM) and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. The liberation movement that has run the republic since 1986. This war lasted from 1981 to 1986, the NRA went out of the Milton Obote II government after the illegitimate election of 1980s. Which from then on has been used as the scapegoat and the ones to put to blame for ever since.

The 1986 is the magical year that Museveni entered into supremacy. The Supreme kingpin and mastermind of all it. Sowing the mustard seed and creating a newer safer Republic. The one time the peasants was supposed to have their say in government and make the republic a democracy. The Republic of Uganda was going from strong-men and big-men to run the Republic. Instead, it has been now three decades with manufactured democracy in-line with the vision of Museveni.

President Museveni have used all techniques to fix election results, paying villagers and making new government forms to fit his paradigm. Instead of releasing his promises he has built elite around him that is loyal to his brown envelopes or public fearing his security organizations. This is a special coming from the man promises all the possible governance and government structures needed, if he got into power. Instead, he has done the opposite.

It was supposed to get into a middle-Income Country instead of the Less Developed Country, which is the state is in now. The LDC that Uganda now is because of the state of government that President Museveni has created around him. That can be seen with amounts of debt, the massive overspending on the State House and the pledges around the President. Government of Uganda, GoU have been built around Museveni, instead of institutions and procedures. Therefore, the state are following the orders of the President and his Presidential Handshakes.

That is why, every-time in a speech at any sort of occasion the President will mention 1986 and how the state used to be. As of today 1 out of 5 in the Republic or 21% are between 15 to 24 year old. And by 2016 there we’re only 2% who are older than 65 years old. Which means that the President are part of a minority age bracket. President Museveni 30 years old rule are older than many of the youths in the Republic. They should also wonder what is so special about the years they never we’re living and about governments they never lived under. There are big proportions of the population who cannot remember or has been apart of the first years of the NRA or the civil-war during the 1980s.

They would be like me, they would feel the same fatigue of the NRA and Museveni rule, the extension of the liberation from Obote and Amin. The ones that Museveni mention whenever he needs someone or somebody to blame. Certainly mention 1986. The 1986 that are the most important year since independence, therefore, the NRM Day, the 26^th January 1986, liberation day. Instead of the Independence Day 9^th October 1962. That one is not so often mentioned by the President, since he didn’t get them out of the British Empire and not be a British Protectorate anymore.

Still, the 9^th October 1962 doesn’t seem to be important for Museveni, the 26^th January 1986 is the most vital one. The one that sets the standard, the day that changed everything and gave him total access. Therefore, the celebration of 1986 is so key and be levied at any occasion, and at any speech. President Museveni praises his overthrow of Amin, Obote, Okello and Biniasa.

They all just had to be overthrown, he had to make coup d’etat and make folklore out of it. So his name can ring out and be praised. Let it be clear, the President sings 1986… 1986… 1986… like a jingle never stopping. Peace.
