Opinion: Tshisekedi better prepare to die in his own movie [or flee into exile]

When you we’re conning enough to strike a deal and coalition agreement with incumbent and former President Joseph Kabila. Then your know who you are messing with and that’s not a nobody. A somebody who has rigged the system and configured ways to control the whole state without a single title to his name. He has the Front Commun pour le Congo (FCC) which went into a coalition agreement with CACH – l’Union Pour la Nation Congolaise & Union pour la Démocratie et le Progrès Social (UNC-UDPS).

The CACH is already weaker as the Chief of Staff and leader of UNC Vital Kamerhe is behind bars after a 100 days corruption scandal. He got detained and is still lingering in prison. While now the partner and President Felix Tshisekedi is fighting a battle to be supreme and get out of Kabila’s shadow.

However, this will only cost. As his a minority in government and in the National Assembly. Heck in the various provinces his an minority. The UDPS and UNC isn’t that big and neither the other option, the coalition of Lamuka. None of this got traction in the elections, which was rigged in favour of the FCC. So, that the “opposition” Tshisekedi was a strike of brilliance for Kabila. Who got him instead of less sought out crown-prince Emmanuel Shadari.

Tshisekedi has tried to find a way to manoeuvrer and get more control with his “Sacred Union” negotiations. However, it has not helped him and only served a purpose for a futile enterprise. This is not a winning card, but more flair and flex than anything.

The President who called for the ending between the FCC and CACH. Is calling his own demise. A battle royal that he cannot win. In such a manner where his bound to loose. It is just a matter of time. As the guards, the soldiers and everyone else will turn. Since, the sudden impeachment or regress of his powers can come.

The FCC and Kabila surely planned for a return to power after one term. However, they might play this folly and make it seems like a utter disgraceful crisis. In such a fashion that he has to return to save the day. Just like he did in the past and without a mandate. It would be a day of glory and a self-serving return to grace.

Kabila is conning enough. He would ensure that Tshisekedi dies in his own movie. Kabila will ensure the demise and total destruction will happen. The agony and the suffering just for political capital. In such a way that it looks like Tshisekedi made enough enemies on his own merry and therefore, it was inevitable that it happen. That it was just a matter of time before someone seek retaliation and retribution towards the President.

If not he should catch a flight back to Belgium and get a flat as soon as possible. Seek refugees and asylum as a political refugee. That to ensure his life and safety. Just because he knows that he challenged Kabila and he will strike with provenance.

Every action made by Tshisekedi and his associates will be followed. Every choice that is made in the next few hours and days will be used against him. Ordering soldiers and citizens to attack or cause havoc will be evidence of misuse of power and grounds for dismissal. The President will get the fury and get the whole law after him.

President Tshisekedi only has to options and none of them are good. Unless, he kiss the rings and begs for mercy. If he doesn’t do that… then he had it coming. Peace.
