“Another Vice President has lost their job as a result of a fall from GRACE” – Seretse Khama Ian Khama (President of Botswana, 7th November 2017).
We should know now that everything is prepared for succession of Grace Mugabe to become President, she is preparing through her allies within Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF), though her alliance within the G-40 group, while trying to send the Team Lacoste out. This has now been done with the axing of VP Emmerson Mnangawa, but what they forget is the already tiredness of the Mugabe presidency and the eminent problems coming with elections and hyper-inflation. It is not like the rise of Grace Mugabe from Robert Mugabe will be smooth in anyways. This has even been reported in September 2017:
“First lady Grace Mugabe was on Friday told to her face that she is the leader of the G40 faction in Zanu PF as members of Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Team Lacoste launched a spirited fight back during a tense central committee meeting, it has been revealed” (…) “Betty Mutero, a key Mnangagwa backer, is said to have thrown the cat among the pigeons when she claimed that G40 wanted to kill Mnangagwa and that Grace was the faction’s leader. “She said G40 wanted to kill Mnangagwa so that Vice-President Phelekezela Mphoko would take over as acting VP and pass on power to Grace in the event that Mugabe is incapacitated,” a well-placed source said. “She said G40 kingpins will then wrest power from Grace. She said the president was being lied to that VP Mnangagwa wanted to take over power from him.” (The Standard, 2017).
So when this sort of stories are coming in the months before the sacking, the Lacoste Team and the G-40 was clearly barricaded against each other. As Grace wanted to get the throne from her husband and be excelled to VP. This is as the allies of Lacoste could be costly, as the meager support for G-40 have been proven, as the Zanu-PF rallies has been booed and not been a festivity of joy of late. Grace Mugabe has been more vocal and trying to prove her role within the administration. Therefore, the latest move of expelling the Lacoste members might be costly in the long-run, while the throne will be moved to the G-40.
As this was reported today:
“HARARE – Several allies of former vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa have been fired by their respective provinces, with the decision now awaiting ratification by the Zanu PF politburo.
There was a complete whitewash of Mnangagwa’s acolytes in Manicaland, where a provincial coordinating committee (PCC) meeting held in the mountainous city of Mutare purged 38 of the former vice president’s allies. Zanu PF heavyweights, among them Cyber Security minister Patrick Chinamasa; Water and Climate minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri; Scholarships minister Chris Mushowe; deputy minister of Health and Child Care Win Mlambo; former Cabinet minister Hubert Nyanhongo; deputy minister of Local Government Christopher Chingosho and Buhera West legislator Oliver Mandipaka, were expelled from the party. “There was a resolution that vice president Mnangagwa should be recalled and that we should find his foot-soldiers and make resolutions for their expulsions,” said Zanu PF Manicaland provincial secretary for administration Kenneth Saruchera in announcing the expulsions. This comes as the provinces also stampeded to recommend the elevation of First lady Grace Mugabe, as Mnangagwa’s successor” (Zimbabwe Situation, 07.11.2017).
So clearly the will to consolidate all power around Grace Mugabe is happening as Robert Mugabe is altered by his wife. Grace is de-facto leader and playing the cards of the party, since she is behind the sackings and expelling of fellow Lacoste MPs and Cabinet Members, also the VP Mnangagwa. This will not go down soft. That is why the State Media has a story today like this for the former loyal ally and VP:
“Dismissed Zimbabwean Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been accused by state media of plotting to seize power. No sources were quoted for this information” (…) “In its editorial on Tuesday, the state-owned Chronicle newspaper accused Mnangagwa of attempts to stampede Mr Mugabe, who has led the country for thirty-seven years. “The President had warned his deputy time and again to desist from having grand designs to seize power unconstitutionally,” the Bulawayo-based paper said. The paper accused the removed deputy president of fanning divisions in the Zanu-PF, despite the public knowledge of Generation 40, a pro Zanu PF group, advancing the course of first lady Grace Mugabe (News Africa, 2017).
So the state is already assuming the role of making Mnangagwa the fallen and the treasonous character, even if he has been loyal all along to the paradigm of Zanu-PF. This is done to make excuses and certainty that he cannot establish himself in his role and neither tak away the G-40 takeover of the Zanu-PF. So that Grace can take his role, because the former VP was wrong and trying to overpower Robert Mugabe.
So the G-40 and Grace are using all tricks, but the part of Zanu-PF who are loyal to Mnangagwa will clearly make noise at the Delegates Conference in December, when Grace will most likely become the new VP by the delegates. Even if the disgruntled War-Veterans who has walked away and also the Team Lacoste. All of this is proving the ruthless formation all in and around her. That will not create a better environment, but it would secure her in the short-con, but not for the long-con.
That this can be costly and create friction is clear, as the Zanu-PF cronyism and the sackings to consolidate power, gives Grace and President less people to pay-off, but also new enemies. Since they have thrown them out and expelled them. They will not follow commands and be there for the Presidency, as they are disgruntled former loyalists. In the short term, President Mugabe and wife as VP might be successful in a family takeover of Zanu-PF and Zimbabwe. Even get her to succeed the aging husband, who has advanced age already.
Still, the axing of VP Mnangagwa should be seen as a sign of how the Mugabe family and G-40 wants to take total control of the party, to another level even leaving all of Team Lacoste behind. Like they have done with others in the past. They are just the latest part of Zanu-PF who gotten disenfranchised by Robert Mugabe and his closest allies. Peace.

In the Merriam-Webster definition of Goblin says: “an ugly or grotesque sprite that is usually mischievous and sometimes evil and malicious” (Merriam-Webster – ‘Goblin’ link: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/goblin). For someone who has ruled the republic of Zimbabwe since 18th April 1980 first as Prime Minister and as President since 22nd December 1987. Clearly, he has had his time make the impression of being a goblin.
He has used tactics of oppression, he has even killed his opposition and consolidated all power of the republic around him. The Zimbabwean government are all built around him and his family. Therefore, the rising inflation’s and the problematic currency problems. The lacking yields of the agricultural industry, as it was a breadbasket of Southern Africa in the 1980s, but since then has needed aid and imports of food stuffs to survive. Combined with lacking institutional building, as it was built around him.
The use of army who was trained by North Koreans to silence certain parts of Zimbabwean public in the 1980s. To certify his rule and to conquer all hearts. The Elephant Brigade and the whole use of force to kill and massacres that silenced the opposition for decades. This with the economic oppression and the elitism in the Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF). The ZANU-PF control and use of funds has decapitated and depleted the budgets as the Vice-President is billing the government for living at luxurious hotel in Harare. The same with his family who imports Rolls Royces and sell Zanu-PF regalia, while the amount of people living from hand to mouth is insane.
The courts are built and managed by Danish Aid, if they even still support the courts who are falling apart. The water system is down in Bulwayo and in Harare, it is so bad that the tap-water can be poisonous. This while Members of Parliament are getting payed for their loyalty in plenty, as the state pays them millions of dollars per year. The most fancy cars and splendid houses in the capital are owned by ZANU-PF Cronies or businessmen connected to the Mugabe clan. There aren’t anything the government are eating.
It is so bad with pay for soldiers and civil servants, that there has even been open battles between soldiers and police officers in the central business district of Harare. This proves the mental and breakdown of government support, when they are late paying their security officers and the ones who are on the barricades for this depleted state system. That the state doesn’t have resources to tackle drought, lack of medicines in the hospitals, the load-shedding of power and to get the citizens out of unemployment. As many are struggling to import and export through South Africa, and the diaspora in South Africa is the reason for the existing foreign exchange that are currently there.
The oppression and abiding poverty is the reason for this and Mugabe has no trouble with it, as long as his family can afford a luxurious house in Dubai, stay in hotels in Johannesburg, ride Rolls Royces and travel to Singapore for health care treatment.
For someone who has been the Executive for 37 years, 6 months and 18 days should have delivered some good governance and institution, instead it has been built around him and he is still in-charge. With that in mind, he is a goblin, even a hob-goblin. We can say doing this to his own people is evil and malicious. When he couldn’t use any of his time to make sure people had industry and continued the success of agricultural exports as it did when he took power in 1980. This is certainly like goblin. Goblin Robert Mugabe, at your disservice! Peace.

The Eritrean Law Society (ELS) is closely observing developments that have led to, and that have followed after, the unprecedented civilian protest of 31 October 2017, which occurred in the heart of the capital city of Eritrea. The protest was prompted by the announcement of a drastic government decision that affected the status of educational establishments administered by Eritrean religious institutions. Another major motive for the protest is the arbitrary arrest of respected elders and spiritual leaders, notably Haji Mussa Mohammed Nur, who strongly opposed the government decision.
Although the details of causalities are not yet fully known, ELS is concerned by the fact that brute force, including live ammunition, was used to suppress the protest, which was nothing more than a peaceful demonstration against a drastic government measure affecting the lives of thousands of people. In our view, the protest signifies one fundamental reality. In today’s Eritrea, citizens have no choice of whatsoever nature in pursuing their individual and group aspirations, life plans, goals, and purposes. Eritreans do not also have access to independent and impartial institutions, including courts of law that can safeguard their fundamental rights and freedoms in the event these essential entitlements are wantonly violated by government authorities.
History dictates that no population can be ruled forever under the yoke of unbearable authoritarianism. There is an urgent need in Eritrea for a full return to a system of governance based on constitutional order, the requirements of democratic accountability, and respect for the rule of law, including the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms of the Eritrean people. ELS would like to take this occasion to make a call on the international community and those who can play a role by pushing for a full return to a democratic system of governance in Eritrea.
Meanwhile, the following reminder is also important for all peace-loving and justice-seeking Eritreans. We shall stay the course and remain vigilant against all sorts of divisive and cheap political machinations orchestrated by the authoritarian regime in Eritrea, its brazen apologists and messengers. It is always important to remember that the regime will make continuous recourse to methods that promote its narrow political agenda as well as frustrate the momentum ushered by the protest of 31 October.

GENEVA, Switzerland, October 23, 2017 – The non-governmental human rights group UN Watch welcomed the WHO’s cancellation of its “absurd, immoral and insulting” appointment of Robert Mugabe as goodwill ambassador but called for a full, independent and international inquiry into any possible deals made between the WHO chief—Ethiopia’s former foreign minister—and Zimbabwe’s ruler.
There must be more to the story. How could Dr. Tedros, a sophisticated political figure, have chosen to honor a man who has brutalized human rights activists, crushed democracy dissidents, and turned the breadbasket of Africa and its health system into a basket-case?” asked UN Watch executive director Hillel Neuer.”We regret that Dr. Tedros’ statement shows no remorse, nor any mention of Mugabe’s gross human rights abuses. On the contrary, he seems to double down and justify his decision by speaking of the need to ‘include everyone’, presumably tyrants as well.”
“We ask Dr. Tedros to agree to a meeting in Geneva of victims of Mugabe, which we will gladly organize, giving the WHO chief a chance to compensate for the damage he has done to the cause of human rights in Zimbabwe. He should now honor the victims, instead of the perpetrator.”
“The tyrant of Zimbabwe is the last person who should have been legitimised by a U.N. position of any kind,” said Neuer. “Something is very ill at the U.N.’s world health agency.”

The public outcry and the shaming of the appointment of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe as World Health Organization Goodwill Ambassador has really hurt the newly elected director-general. Clearly, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Ethiopian Director-General didn’t consider how the world view of Mugabe and his position in the United Nations Organization. WHO has ideals and barren structure of the human rights and the needs for health care across the nations and member states. So with the backslash and the disappointing idea is now proven. The character of the leader is at least shown.
Parts of Dr. Tedros Adhanom statement today:
“Over the last few days, I have reflected on my appointment of H.E. President Robert Mugabe as WHO Goodwill Ambassador for NCDs in Africa. As a result I have decided to rescind the appointment. I have listened carefully to all who have expressed their concerns, and heard the different issues that they have raised. I have also consulted with the Government of Zimbabwe and we have concluded that this decision is in the best interests of the World Health Organization. It is my aim to build a worldwide movement for global health. This movement must work for everyone and include everyone” (WHO, 2017).
What is striking and what is unique, is that he is taking away the honor to Mugabe, but at the same time. He was in close connection and talking with them. Not trying to figure it out on his own. I am sure if the public and the human rights organizations didn’t blast the hell out of the decision. He would still be the Goodwill Ambassador for NCDs in Africa. Surely, he can pick someone with a little flair and legitimacy for it. Not someone who has been thieving and looting since the 1980s. There must someone else who has the ability and the compassion to care about the subject.
We can clearly see that the WHO General-Director have no trouble with dictatorships and the totalitarian leadership, since he can easily honor them and work for them. If they do quell opposition and hurt citizens who oppose the central government. He will most likely be behind them and give them honorable notes. The Ethiopian Revolutionary People’s Democratic Front (EPRDF) has teached him well, as the years in the central government of Addis Ababa have served him well.
We can just imagine who is the next man or woman he appoints, what sort of person will that be? Is he inflicted from the party at home he represent, as they haven’t had democratic principals and neither respected their liberties or freedoms. This being in Amhara and Oromia states, as the people are demonstrating the control and the oppression of the EPRDF. A party that he has been part of and in the close-knit centralized leadership. That should set off some signals and the ones who said this before his win, wasn’t strong enough or able to get enough votes.
What we do know, he is compassion and care for the longstanding dictators, that he will serve them and give them honors. We know that now, as the role he had in Addis Ababa is now reflected on the position in the World Health Organization. Peace.

World Health Organization (WHO) – ‘Director General rescinds Goodwill Ambassador appointment’ (22.10.2017) link: http://www.who.int/mediacentre/news/statements/2017/goodwill-ambassador-rescinded/en/

The newly elected WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreysus of Ethiopia. Have started with something really controversial. I am impressed by his act and his decision to pick Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe as a Goodwill Ambassador!
“The report said the WHO director-general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, made the controversial announcement on Wednesday in a speech at a global conference on noncommunicable diseases in Montevideo, Uruguay. Tedros, as he is known, described himself as “honored” that Mugabe — whose government has repressed protesters and has been implicated in widespread human rights violations — had agreed to serve as a goodwill ambassador on noncommunicable diseases for Africa. Those diseases include conditions like heart disease and cancer” (ESAT – ‘Tedros Adhanom appoints Robert Mugabe as WHO goodwill ambassador’ 20.10.2017, link: https://ethsat.com/2017/10/tedros-adhanom-appoints-robert-mugabe-goodwill-ambassador/).
Tedros, have you followed the Zimbabwean President and his efforts in his state. If you should make them ambassador, should they make their health system good enough for themselves get the healing there? Since Mugabe is even traveling steady to Singapore for better hospitals and care of his advanced age.
I am wondering, what sort of idea was this? When did you get this striking idea? What did you eat and drink? Certainly, it was not injeera or Ethiopian coffee, must been something stronger and more powerful to your veins, so your pump stopped working for a temporarily moment. Since the moment of insanity must have hit your bloodstream and not carried enough air to your heart. Because, it is not with a good heart you could give him the goodwill ambassador position within the World Health Organization.
The 93 year old President, that has ruled since early 1980s, the former liberation warrior and who has attacked, oppressed and made sure no-one is questioning his rule, until this day. Has not done anything positive for the last two decades, unless it is letting his sons and wife spending fortunes in South Africa. Having a house in Dubai and surely emptying the state reserves for his lavish lifestyle. This sort of behavior shouldn’t be awarded!
Tedros, that is what you do? Who is next in line and who will get the next honor of your organization? Will the be another totalitarian dictator, maybe the one in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan or Turkmenistan for their will to fight specialized Asian diseases. Maybe, I should come with this suggestion, you might offer them a goodwill position too.
What went through your head and made this a profound idea, maybe that was why he came from the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) and was a part of the elite in Ethiopia. Who are so used of oppression and not caring about democratic principals. That giving a price of this stature to another fellow, who is making this system in his country. Just seems fair. Mugabe a goodwill ambassador, only in World Hell Organization, since he has created a living hell for so many in his nation for decades upon end. He has killed, he has silenced, he has oppressed and used all means to stay in power.
You shouldn’t extend an honor to a man of this stature, he should get sanctioned, he should lose his titles. Not get more, this is insane and shows the lacking character of Tedros and his reign as WHO Director-General. We now know that he favors dictators and their total controlling ways. Therefore, expect more insane leadership choices and know that Tedros do not care. He is used to get away with it in his Ethiopian government too. That is why the Ethiopian government has sent the army and militia to stop demonstrations in Amhara and Oromia. They have done this and the same have they done in Zimbabwe, that is why Tedros understand Mugabe and will show the older supposed statesman some honor. Even though most of the world will say he doesn’t deserve it.
This is insane, Mugabe shouldn’t get an honor, but instead a dishonor. Peace.
