“I therefore advise you that as you go about your very important duties, you go out in full alert and in readiness to respond effectively and decisively against any criminal elements and you must meet them eye for an eye” – King Mswati III (05.08.2022).
The absolute monarch King Mswati III was on Friday again showing his sinister and vicious side. The ones that been following the current affairs in Eswatini shouldn’t be shocked by this. The authorities and the state has retaliated and ensured the ones who has defied his reign got to pay. That’s happened to students, activists and others who demonstrated. The authorities has swiftly and violently stopped demonstrations against his tyranny. However, the King resides on the throne and won’t relent, as he as absolute power and there is no representative democracy in the Kingdom.
So, that the King tells the Police Officers of the Kingdom to answer with an “eye for an eye”. Just show how vengeful the King is. Also, with that in mind he wants the authorities to act with retribution. That is very clear here and no one should be surprised.
We know the Sibaya’s that been held only been to buy “peace” and give the King time. As it sets a tone and the international pressure cease when he holds a peaceful display. Nevertheless, that is just buying him time to strike back at the parties and there organizers behind the demonstrations. There are plenty of peoples who wants elected representatives. Because, at the moment everyone with an office or a ministry is hand-picked by him. They are all there on the blessing of him and not because the public wanted them there.
It is a merciless man and a leader who only see himself. A monarch should see his whole kingdom and be a character that is unifying the kingdom. Instead his a monarch that sparks conflict and attacks his opponents. If King Mswati III had listened and opened up for a representative democracy. He could have been beloved and been respected.
However, he chose the path of total tyranny and using violence to stay in power. The most despicable way of clinging on to power. He can order the army and the police force whenever he deems fit. The King can take lives and even do that in rituals if he wants. That’s the sort of man he is and he thrives in it.
King Mswati isn’t a noble man or a just ruler. No, he will brutalize and ensure the demise of the ones who stands in his way. That’s why people has lost their lives, their careers and such under his reign.
So that the King says the Police Officers should answer the public with an “eye for an eye”. Is just showing his understanding and how the King operates. This is the sort of system and how he keeps his power alive.
A tyrant needs to enforce the tyranny and that’s obvious in Eswatini. Peace.
“Government takes this moment to strongly condemn the senseless killing of State security officers as well as the sporadic arson and terrorist attacks on public and private property, perpetuated by unknown criminals hiding behind veiled motives. The safety of emaSwati is now under threat as this group of criminals continues to wage a senseless assault on our people. This spate of crime and its effects has now reached a level in which it has, and will, affect the lives of all emaSwati in one way or another. It is clear, therefore, that these attacks are not just on Government or any individual company, but on all emaSwati. Those behind these evil acts are terrorists hell-bent on condemning our people to a state of fear and never-ending cycle of poverty. There can be no justification of such attacks, particularly when we already have a clear laid down pathway towards reconciling our differences. It is clear to all of us now that the people behind these attacks are not for the betterment of emaSwati or a better Eswatini. We will do everything to protect the lives of emaSwati, and to restore peace and order in our beautiful Kingdom. These criminals and their enablers will face the full might of the law. We are already out in full force conducting investigations” – Prime Minster Cleopas Sipho Dlamini (27.06.2022).
In Mbabane there is only one master and King, the absolute ruler King Mswati III. The brutality and use of force against dissidents and freedom fighters should be well-known. The King has forced himself on the public and continues to appoint his leaders on the people.
While the people and citizens are protesting and revolting against the King. The King decided not to allow the people to elect their own. We know that the King sees the citizens as his subjects and nothing else. That is easy to know that the King doesn’t value the people. When he even at one point used several of citizens as an offering for a ritual. Therefore, the King will easily get his appointee’s to call dissidents ‘terrorists’.
That’s what has happened today. No one should be shocked by this. It just shows the sentiment of the King and his court. They are just proving it now with the latest Prime Minister Press Conference today.
We know that the people, the banned political parties and civil society who is working for elected representatives, which have been illegal since 1973. That’s why the people are fighting and now they are called terrorist. We know the King doesn’t respect the people or the will of the people. He feels they are damaging his calm.
He only calls for ‘Sibaya’ to get the recognition of the international community and look like he cares about the people. While that is only to buy time. As he goes after the student leaders, opposition leaders and who else who is challenging his reign.
People should read this little piece of statement from the PM. Just so they know how the leadership and the appointees of the King operates. They are targeting the citizens who just wants people to elect their own leaders. The King is using his authority and no stopping of the police brutality. Neither is the any stop of the relentless usage of force.
People should be warned that the King and the PM has no heart here. When they are warning the people and calling freedom fighters for terrorists. That says it all.
The King and his men should know they cannot kill them all or detained them all. Because, that’s not how it works. Sooner or later, something got to give and that should be the absolute monarch. Peace.
“Let us put the country first and not push self-interests. Let us remain the peace loving emaSwati we are known to be” – His Majesty King Mswati III (04.02.2022).
Today, the King Mswati III is spelling it all out and he really wants to pin his peasants down. That is very clear by what he said about the activists, the citizens and the ones who wants democratic representation in the Kingdom. The King is clearly not willing to budge and just want to have peace.
He speaks of amendments, but the absolute monarch doesn’t seem to will or want to give away his total power. King Mswati III wouldn’t use the authorities and the state agencies in his favour. Because, that is what he does … and he cannot run away from that.
It is really striking that his using the Sibaya as an example of talks and dialogue. When that is just a prefixed enterprise for his own benefit and a publicity stunt. Not like he has listened to the demonstrators, the stakeholders or the civilians for that matter. No, he is just running around like the blood-thirsty tyrant he is.
“We ended the year with elements of division among the populace. This will not help the country move forward. As emaSwati we have a way of engagement, which is to sit down and dialogue. We now have a constitution that is a product of national consultation and it also prescribes how to go about making amendments where the need arises. We should not sway from this route. It provides that recommended changes to the constitution can start at Sibaya, which is the ultimate decision making body of our people, then taken to Parliament for adoption and promulgated into law. We discourage the use of force and violence to influence change as we all deserve to live in peace. It is not a crime to have diverging views but engaging in dialogue creates a better outcome for all, as every person needs advice from time to time” (His Majesty King Mswati III, 04.02.2022).
He speaks of moving forward and having dialogue. However, the dialogue isn’t possible and able to reach any conclusion. When it is steered by the almighty and his majesty, which doesn’t open up doors or even considers the other side. That’s because they want him either to step-down or abdicate, as his not willing to give the public their own representatives.
At this very moment and time, the only representatives who are there is appointees and people who is in favour of the King. The Members of Parliament or High Ranking Officials are all his men. That is why the people are demonstrating and wanting a system run by civilians who is elected and represents them. Right now…
Every single state official, cabinet member or parliamentarian is there, because the King appointed them. Therefore… they are not representing the people. We know the Sibaya didn’t deliver anything, but only swayed a few international dignitaries that the King did something.
Alas… King Mswati III can speak of peace, but he should silence his gun. Stop arresting dissidents and people fighting for a just cause, which is hurting his pride and ego. That is what he does… and the ones who acts with defiance against him … are clearly damaging his calm.
The king should listen to his peasants or as he see them as his subjects. However… don’t expect him to do so. He got two ears, but these are constantly shut, while he has no trouble running his mouth. Peace.
