A stray-bullet for your thoughts!

You don’t need no gun control, you know what you need? We need some bullet control. Men, we need to control the bullets, that’s right. I think all bullets should cost five thousand dollars… five thousand dollars per bullet… You know why? Cause if a bullet cost five thousand dollars there would be no more innocent bystanders.”Chris Rock

There is time to recollect our minds and be washed away in the blunders of the past. There are enough issues to grasp. It isn’t just a mere, free the Members of the Parliament, Free the Arua 33 and the activists taken by the authorities. Also the continued purge on the ones in and around Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine. All of the MPs deserves to remembered, as their lack of freedom, needs to be addressed, this is for Kassiano Wadri, Francis Zaake, Mubarak Munyangwa and Gerald Karuhanga. All of these as mentioned are still bound by the state for various of charges and because the President can do this.

What we need is to look at the stray-bullets too. The ones that isn’t hitting the targets directly, but are still killing. The reality where the state is really attacking the possibility to gather as the Joint Communique from the Security Organizations even banned protests and demonstrations. Even if the ones bringing the violence and the killing is the state. They are the ones with the live-ammunition and the ones who are in-charge of it. Therefore, the ones dying during and after the demonstrations are most likely casualties or targets done by the state.

That is why the unfortunate deaths of innocent citizens are showing the lack of care. Just as much as the state are arresting people without warrants, charges or keeping them detained for months before even putting them to trial. That is what the state does to its political prisoners. This shows the lack of mercy and lack of procedure. If not they are scrapping following certain laws, because they are not part of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), therefore, deserves another set of rules of law.

That is why we should worry of all the stray-shots, even if that is a spin. As the soldiers, the Special Force Command and other outfits are really trying to intimidate and show the world that the Ugandan lives are not valued by the state. They are just someone they are randomly hit. They are acting like the soldiers are not trained and just pulling the trigger purposeless.

That is what bothers me, is the narrative they are spinning with this. That they are just killing people incidentally. That is insulting to the families of the deceased. The Authorities are really just saying, that the shot was done accidental. So, if that was really the case, why are there lacking open investigations into the usage of bullets by the state?

Because, the state has promised to investigate into the torture and damage done on journalists, but will they look into the killings and use of guns? Or is that just something they do, because they can? There is no consequence for the state to use stray-bullets on people?

That is why the authorities and the state has to stop use of live-bullets when engaging with citizens. There should be other ways of dealing with protesters that doesn’t turn fatal. That should be a “no-no”. But in the mind of Museveni and his kind, it is a “go-go”.

Stop, the stray-bullets narrative has to die, because a soldier and trained military personnel actually AIMS! Peace.

The infuriating abuse of “Preventative Arrest” and “Inciting Violence” by the Authorities!

Let’s be clear, the misuse of certain laws and pattern of injustice have been rampant and grown over the years. If your an opposition leader and not in the good graces of the law. You will meet it and share custody with chicken thieves and common con-men. That is the nature of politics in Uganda. There are not a long level from driving a fancy SUV to be undetermined as a criminal politician in the Republic.

The usage of certain laws is staggering. The Penal Code and the Public Order Management Act (POMA). Recently, they have added to more things to equation that is getting on my nerve. They are misusing it and blatantly disregard of people’s way of expression. The POMA are used to silence possible demonstrations and political rallies the authorities doesn’t like, as the Anti-Besigye Act it is.

However, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the Security Operatives of the regime, have taken it up a notch with misuse of two other types of charges. I am not talking about treason, that has been used against the regarded rising stars of the opposition and the ones who light a spark within the community. Leaders who makes the President and his party looks like little begging children.

The one I first want to mention is the “Preventative Arrest”. The one used against leaders, activists and random people, who can suddenly be taken by the Security Organizations as Police, ISO, CMI, Special Force Command or soldiers. Because they have to take them for any sort of reason, as they can cause damage. They can damage a nerve in the head of the President or make his wife loose her cool. Who knows, but they are preventing something, as the Leopards Anus is afraid they might stir a hissy-fit and create ruckus in the middle of Nile Avenue. Who knows really right? Because anyone from everywhere can be charged with this one. Even a teacher spelling out the words M-P-I-G-S. Can be arrested for these reasons, as they are preventing further crimes.

I am sure they are using the Police Act of 1994 subsection 24. to justify the use of Preventative Arrests, which states that a Police Officer can arrest someone as a preventive action. However, that does not defend the usage of it, as the ones taken has not caused harm, made issues against human decency in a public space nor caused harm to kids or vulnerable people. Therefore, the Security Organizations should stop using this measure, unless they want to be an extended arm of the tyranny.

The second one I have to mention is the “Inciting Violence”, which goes to journalists, activists, TV-Shows, Members of Parliament, Opposition Leaders and anyone who has the capacity to bring more than people together in a crowded street. This is surely a charge that has been misused. The amounts must be at a level, where the fools becomes Einstein and the Police Officers can arrest anyone for this. If they are screaming “Besigye” or just being at a function as a leader. Than, your can be charged with this.

I am sure they are using the Penal Code of 1950 subsection 83 to justify the use of Inciting Violence. Where they use 83 (1), which says: “Any person who incites any other person to do an act of violence against any person by reason of his or her race, place of origin, political opinions, colour, creed or sex or office commits an offence and is liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding fourteen years”. I am sure they are using the charge as someone who express their political opinion and does so in regard of the opposition and not the NRM.

That is why I am tired of this use. As they continue to misuse both of them. NRM are really using this combined with the Security Organization to control the public and stop the public from engaging politically.

The Authorities are making people criminal, they are making political active and leadership into con-men. Therefore, they are finding and pinning these charges on anyone who stands out or are active in the manner of opposition politics. If they are voices in rallies, demonstrations or even consultation meetings.

This is just showing how indifference and how they are misusing the power and blocking people from attending or being part of political landscape. Peace.

Museveni now claims the arrested MPs was misbehaving!

We have crimes in towns, the many boda bodas, vehicles crowding in the City and the errant politicians beating up innocent women. The errant politicians are being handled by the law. We also have the CCTV cameras being installed in the city to tame all these criminals” (Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on 24th August 2018).

That President Yoweri Kaguta Musveni calls Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, Mubarak Munyanga, Patrick Mwiru, Kassiano Wadri, Michael Mabikke, Gerald Karuhanga and Francis Zaake. All of these men are the ones he is mentioning, he might not saying their names, but saying the MPs handled by the law. Are these men, therefore, we know he means this.

To be errant means to be misbehaving, move about aimlessly or staying outside the proper path. When Museveni says this, is that they move on the outside of his circle, they are not following his guidance and his principles. Even if his jaded vision, his mental fatigue is evident. There are clearly the mature way of understanding this man of advanced age.

That Museveni says this and alleges this, shows how immature he is and how belittling he is. That he blames them and thinks it is enough to be handled by the law. The law that fits these errant men, but not him. As he doesn’t have to answer for ordering the Special Force Command to kill and quell the crowds with live-bullets. That is not errant and not wrong, but going outside of the one-man vision of him, that is directly criminal.

It is futile to say this to Museveni. His jaded vision is so blurry, that he cannot see right or wrong. Because he is the almighty who can do whatever he wants without any consequence. However, as long as you are in the way of him, you will taste the justice and the law. That is what the arrested errant MPs.

You don’t need to be bright to get the picture. The snap is right there. The President can try to forge charges, juice up the stats, but the reality will be the same. He is trying to make a mirage appear in the desert, but that is not happening. Not today and not tomorrow, except for the types of Mwenda, Opondo and Wanyama. The rest of us, see and shake our heads.

Errant Politicians? Political Indiscipline, the indiscipline is because they are not following you and being your subjects, but actually thinking human beings. Whose not your tin-soldiers to move around like you please. Get your act to together. Peace.

Reuters Africa Letter to General David Muhoozi on investigation and treatment of James Akena (24.08.2018)

The State has started a purge on Bobi Wine’s friends!

If you ever knew the price of going against a tyranny or against a dictatorship. You know it now, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. That Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has hit the heart of the dictatorship is now evident. As the Security Outfits are going in plain-clothes and arresting his friends at night.

Last night at around 1AM at Red Pocket Pub, unknown and plain-clothed men arrested Eddie Mutwe aka Ssebuffu Eddy. Whose Bobi Wine’s friend and bodyguard. He was taken without any warrant or any legal reason.

During this morning, Bobi Wine’s DJ David Bwanika was taken from his home. Therefore, there are now searching for anyone in and around Bobi Wine. They are now really surely soon arresting the FireBase Studios artists, as they have done before as well. Since they want to punish Bobi Wine a little extra.

Not only give him forged charges, but also go against his friendships and business-partners. That is what is happening now. The ones associated with Bobi Wine is the state having a purge on. They are not random selected people, but people connected to Bobi Wine. That is why this is deliberate and well-planned by the security outfits. As they know whose around and associated with him. This has been well known, as the artist and performer of Bobi Wine’s stature has had his circle in the media. Therefore, the arrests today, is to prove at what cost it has to go against the dictatorship.

Bobi Wine and the Arua 33 is bad enough. The tortured and the detained Members of Parliament, the citizens after the By-Election. All of them deserves justice, while the state continues to offer more injustice.

We are just seeing a purge on the associates and friends of Bobi Wine. Just like we have seen the security outfits done to other activists in the past. They are following a pattern of vicious attacks on the population. Especially the ones that questions and have ability to spark resistance. Peace.

Dr. Kizza Besigye – Release Bond (23.08.2018)

Groundhog Day: Liberation from Prison for Besigye!

Yet again, the Police have released Dr. Kizza Besigye as they arrested him in his home this morning. As he was supposed to go to Gulu and attend the Court for Robert Kyagulanyi case. This he was barred from entering. As the state blocked and stopped most of the hardliners within the Opposition. That was done with others.

But now we know, that Besigye is left by the gates of home in Kasangati, Wakiso. Therefore, he is free. Without we’re knowing the reason for the arrest, charges or even warrants. He was just taken from his home, because the authorities can and the Police was ordered so from above high.

This day is just another day of impunity and criminality of the state, as they are making it illegal to opposition and making their lives hard. Because of their affiliation. That shows how the President and National Resistance Movement has to silence people.

They are so afraid of Besigye voice, as well as they are afraid of Bobi Wine. As both of them has shown their popularity and their message to the people has reacted too.

Besigye is really a sour thumb for the government. As they have to detain him, because he exists and because he could light a fire. A fire that the government are afraid it couldn’t contain. Just as they have seen what the young politician Bobi Wine could do as well. Now both of them have been charged with treason by this regime. That shows that these two are politicians that brings the fear of the state.

Besigye should be allowed to leave his home. Besigye shouldn’t have to go through this. No one should be arrested at their home, without charges or without warrants. That is just showing how insane the Police and NRM are at this point. Peace.

Opinion: NRM Apologist stop the charade, it is just tiring!

Let me be clear, this is just my tiredness of trying to evaluate and explain the pains of a Republic, that has been oppressed and taken for granted by the State House in Entebbe. Where the government and authorities have forgotten their mission and their role. Where the Security Organizations and the state is instead of serving, it is self-serving for the President and his cronies. The role of the state is finding ways for the elite to eat and keep the machinery pumping. Not trying to make the state better or service delivery worth a damn. That boat has left the harbour a long time ago.

Now, as the arrests, detaining MPs and the machine of killing innocents are in the middle of center stage. The apologists hops around like hot fire and blaming the opposition, like they are all to blame. Besigye deserves to be arrested in his home, he just send the radicals at the police. Bobi Wine needs to be detained, because his ghetto youths will just kills soldiers. Even if none of that has ever happen. They are blamed for the ills of society, but the monopoly of guns, arms and tear-gas is of the state. So the discussion, should be how the state uses their authority to quell the public.

That is why I am tired of the state machinery, the misconduct and the alternative reality the state apparatus is living in. They are at a such a state, they are trying to deflect the realities, they are trying to forge a narrative where the opposition is the problem, when the state itself makes the issues. It is not Robert Kyagulanyi who charged himself and put himself in prison. It is not Francis Zaake who hurt himself and dropped himself off at the Rubaga Hospital. Not like Kassiano Wadri has put the bracelets on himself. Neither, did any of the others over the last put themselves in this place. This was done deliberately by government and their military outfits. They didn’t jump into the paddy-wagons just for the hell-off-it.

That is why I am tired, because we know this and they know this. They are just washing their hands of this dirt. Trying to spoil the milk and make sure the people are pouring it out. Without even tasting or checking the thickness of the milk. That is what is up and also what is going down.

The lies of the state can continue, but that doesn’t make it more true. The way it tries to put deceptions, try to steer the conversations, blow out windows or windshields, make powerful stones break bulletproof glass. Is only things that can happen with a regime, like the NRM. That is why there are always something hidden and untold, something the President and the regime tries to hide. As they are trying to make innocent people into villains. Making sure Kizza Besigye and Bobi Wine are the arch-nemesis of Museveni.

Let the charade stop… let the reality sink in, forged charges and a populations being pawns in a struggle to continue to rule, which never stops until the last of breathe of one man. Who will use everyone and succeed everyone to stay there. Peace.

Mwenda’s recent Illusions of the ‘FDC versus NRM’ doesn’t make sense!

There are certain members of the media atmosphere, that is so deluded and so paid-off by the National Resistance Movement, that their vision is blurred. If someone would believe that this fellow was drinking or even lack of memory, than people would have believed that, since his reasoning is so far fetched and forged together. So, that the elitism and the favorable view is so in the open. That no matter what the Opposition would do. It would be wrong, anyone standing in the way of the NRM. They are vicious people and vindictive to be supporting the cause of toppling the dictatorship. However, that is the vision of Andrew Mwenda, the Independent Magazine owner and writer. The man whose lost his way, today. I will take extract of his two recent rants on the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC). I just have to scrutinize them, as they deserve.

First on disintegration of the FDC:

Besigye himself did not start out as a radical extremist. However he adopted this position in order to keep the loyalty of his base. These radical extremists believe in a politics of blackmail, insults, lies and intimidation to get their way. They represent a worse alternative to President Yoweri Museveni’s politics of corruption and patronage. For all his faults, Museveni represents a more enlightened politics than Besigye and his extremists. He is to some degree liberal democratic – to a good extent – he has some tolerance of and respect for free speech and other liberal democratic values. But the radical extremists are fascists” (Mwenda, 2018).

This little extract shows how narrow-minded Mwenda has become, if that is in his own high esteem or his lack of vision. That he has to figure out a way to narrowly escape the perjury of his own mind. What we can see, is that no matter what Museveni does, it will be better than Besigye. Even if Museveni has all powers and made a crappy patronage system, that will be better than the FDC and Besigye ever will be. Even if no one has ever tried or succeeded in doing so. Therefore, just by this mere impasse, his reasoning are falling flat.

Secondly, how can liberal democratic values turn into fascists? Where in his right mind does this work out? It is just like reading political voodoo again. The mismatch of political in a petri-dish and use of tools to create an imaginary Nessie in the midst of Lake Albert. Because that is what Mwenda here does. If your members and supporters of Besigye, your fascists, by his reckoning, which is in itself a disgrace. As the Besigye supporters aren’t violent brown-shirt or ethnic cleansing individuals, even the P10 in diaspora isn’t supporting an armed struggle against the Museveni. So where in the mind of Mwenda makes these ideas. He surely need therapy or more schooling, because this doesn’t make sense.

FDC’s radical extremism:

Here has been the tragedy of the struggle for democracy in Africa. Claims by any group opposed to a dictatorial government to be fighting for democracy are taken on face value. Its internal operations and the behaviour of its leaders and members are rarely questioned. And in many cases these groups have captured power and produced governments that are worse than those they overthrew. The lesson for Uganda is simple but fundamental: denouncing Museveni’s dictatorial tendencies is not enough to make a political movement liberal-democratic. Its modus operandi is more critical. FDC is the best positioned party to capture power from NRM. The radical extremists are its strongest faction in FDC. Hence a capture of power by FDC would be a victory for radical extremism and a danger to democracy in Uganda. Whatever the democratic deficits manifest inside NRM, Museveni individually and his party and government generally are fairly tolerant and liberal-minded. I built my career as a journalist exposing the rot in his government alongside its dictatorial tendencies. Yet throughout this period I frequently visited Museveni at State House and we argued over our differences. He would come to my radio show. He would telephone me to express disagreement over opinions or facts I had written. The same applies to NRM and UPDF leaders. They were regular guests on my radio show and my major sources of information” (Mwenda, 2018).

It is weird again that someone would be danger to democracy, while the other one are keeping a narrow hold of power in the State House. That is why someone whose been into power for 32 years are no problem for democracy, but the ones in opposition will cause havoc. That even without proof of it. This is just peddling lies and deception. That Mwenda says NRM are liberal and tolerant minded, why does everyone has to follow the guidance of Museveni and the ones who doesn’t get demoted.

If the NRM was so liberal and tolerant minded, why the NRM rebels get demoted? Why did the leadership throw out Mbabazi, Bukenya and others because of their ambitions? Mwenda, why doesn’t you mention that? While the FDC has had three Party Presidents by now since its inception since 2005, while the NRM since 1986 has had one in command from the State House. There has been lack of control from others.

So, therefore it is special, that ones ordering the army and police to be able to control power, have trouble with supporters of the opposition. This is just weird, that the NRM are okay with its mistakes, but the FDC will become fascists and extremists, but the armed military government of NRM are fine and dandy. If you don’t see flaws in that reasoning, than your right and Mwenda is off the chains.

We can clearly see the brilliant mind or the wacked head of Mwenda. His own head must be a battlefield, as the lack of reasoning and mental breakdown of the defense of Museveni is in the open. It is just like accepting the dictator and making the opposition criminal hoodlums. Not complaining about the ones ordering the killing, but saying the ones reporting the killings as the ill of society. That is what Mwenda is doing these days.

If you know, you know. Peace.

Democracy dies on the altar of Stability!

“the crisis of democracy” as when normally passive and apathetic populations become organized and seek to enter the political arena to pursue their interests and demands, threatening stability and order.”Noam Chomsky

I know, this is our time paradigm and it isn’t a shift of policy, just a ignorance of the mere fact that dictatorships and totalitarian affairs gets to linger, because the international stakeholders rather see stability and military efforts to control the population, instead of a tolerant and transparent democracy. That is just the mere reality, it isn’t fiction.

This happens again and again, it rebounds and recharge after every contested and questionable election. Now in Zimbabwe, previously in Kenya last year and in Uganda the year before. It doesn’t matter if the head of state rigged themselves in and used the army to silence the population after. As long as they are stable and loot their nations at a steady pace. It isn’t happening on our shores, so why should the international stakeholders suffer and make the public lose faith in the institutions. They are moving forward and showing some signs of democratic values, even as belittling as letting them have a rally or two without interference of the police.

Therefore, this get boring as this sort of play get back-to-back, no return and steady road without any redemption. Only more of the same old suffering and toils in the midst of oppression. We see no salvation and not turn of events, where the mere factors changes. It is just the same old story with new names and new charges put on opposition leaders.

If not there will be ‘Unity Governments’ where the loser reign supreme and the winner begs for breadcrumbs, where the rigging master get the head of state and military, while the real winner get meaningless positions and a title not even worth the print of ink. It is just a mere puppet show the façade to look beautiful, while the population and the ones who govern knows it is just a play. They could be shooting a movie and not run a government, because this is just nonsense. They all know it, but they have to secure donor funding and legitimacy.

This is the sort of game we play, we return to it, as the opposition is tarnished, called terrorists and hooligans, while the democratic playing field is shrinking and no one seems to care. Unless, you’re the President and you’re the VPs bitch, because you cannot pressure the VP or the army, since they hired you to be the head of state. That is why Mnangagwa will speak of tolerance and unity, but will not challenge any solider killing innocent civilians, than he plays against the ones who hired him.

The army will hold Kenyatta in force too, and they did with their assaults on the public after the Fresh Presidential Elections, as the did their duty in Kisumu and Kibera. They really went ahead with violence and killed civilians. Just like the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) did after the 2016 in Kampala and elsewhere to prove their majesty, his excellency Museveni all power.

Therefore, this game is getting old and stale, where the ruling regime is eating of the plate, taking it all and only leaving pain for the majority. It isn’t funny, but the same old play we have seen before and no one seems to really care. They accept this and doesn’t really challenge it. They are putting out statements: We condemn. But a few minutes later, they will not do anything about it.

We are just moving in circles and it isn’t funny. Democracy is dying and it does it on the temple of stability. What is the value of stability, if the elite eats 99 % and the 99 % eats the 1 %. It is worthless, as worthless as these “elections”, where the handpicked Gentlemen are doing as they please and has no consequence. Seriously, what value does it add? Other than for some empty headed businessmen who eats of the electoral tenders. Very little are to gain for the society or the stakeholders. Just buying legitimacy and race to the supreme.

Just getting tired of this scheme, of this race and of these sort of play. It is time to get serious and engage properly, respect the ballot and the will of the people. Not just use that election for the little regard regime so they can stay afloat for another term. That isn’t cool, screw stability, when it only leads to power-vacuum and a more intolerant society afterwards. Peace.
