Opinion: I don’t see what’s wrong with Ng’eno’s statement [and only see that he hit the pride of the President]
“You are not Kenya and Kenya is nor Kenyatta’s or Mama Ngina’s land. This land belongs to 47 million Kenyans, you cannot run it as you wish, Moi and Kibaki finished their terms and left, you should do the same next year when the time comes” – Johana Ng’eno MP (07.09.2020).
I didn’t know that President Uhuru Kenyatta was a deity and transcendent between the holy land and the mortal world. Kenyatta must be immortal and cannot be offended. The ground that the President walks on has to be praised. You cannot state anything against him… because, if you do? You will be in trouble like the MP.
Ng’eno MP is even expelled by KANU, who has made a coalition with the Jubilee. This means the Jubilee is already working with Gideon Moi. Another honourable gentlemen from a dynasty. A man that Ng’eno mentioned in his statement. That is the father of Gideon and the former President. Nick Salat does this for political capital, but its very little to gain.
That the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji and the National Police Service is issuing statements, but also charges on Ng’eno for this. Shows, that one family is more important than the freedom of expression. The Kenyatta’s are untouchable and the Moi family needs to salvaged too. Since, they are dismissing him for speaking ill of Uhuru.
There is certainly not Uhuru, neither is there are coherent Ubuntu. There is just a mess. A self-inflicted mess by the state. Yes, Ng’eno challenged the Kenyatta’s, but he didn’t say anything wrong. He just went after the ego of the President and his inner-family. It was brave of him to do so…
That is why Ng’eno MP is paying the price. If he had incited to violence and genocide. If he had used the means of what certain politicians did in the post-elections in 2008. Then I would have understood the backfiring means of the state. Alas, that wasn’t the case here.
He just hit the pride, the ego and the Kenyatta’s. This is misuse of power and restricting freedom of speech. They are taking away liberty to question their power and their office. He just wishing the President well, when he is done in office after his second term. That he can go back to his farms, milking cows and continue his businesses. Instead, of acting like he owns a Republic. When he represents it and is the Head of State. His not a royal king or even a kingpin.
The President and Jubilee should know better. KANU is just beneath itself dropping Ng’eno MP is messed up over this. The MP spoke the truth. Yes, he hit a nerve, but a man who has been in office since 2013 should manage to spoken to this way. Unless, his a kid with a hissy fit over not getting candy.
Uhuru and his family should manage this and much worse too. If they are this frail. What are you doing in office? Why are you even a head of state? Are you man enough to carry your own self? Do have carrying balls?
Because, I wonder if the President has the character and the ability to rule. When he cannot even get a wish of a kiss goodbye and being told that he doesn’t own the Republic. Are you that tiny?
That is weak tea and misuse of power. Kenyatta needs some help, he needs to grow up and understand his position. If he don’t, comedians, journalists and whatnot will soon be arrested for mocking him or even write a notice of punchline before they are revoked an opportunity to do their job. Peace.
Youth For Ruto 2022: Press Statement (14.05.2020)
Opinion: Jubilee is cleaning the house [and a possible GNU on the horizon?]
As sudden as the dynasty ticket came to life. So began the purge on the Hustler Nation and the Tanga Tanga. There hasn’t been a sloppy second, not even a breath of air between the decisions and the meetings to ouster them.
The first was to change leadership in the Parliament. Where Kipchumba Murkomen and Susan Kihika, lost the senate majority leader and majority whip. This was a clear signal that the Tanga Tanga time of relevance was over.
The Jubilee-KANU deal is clearly steering the way and clearing the house. As they had the meeting where the rippled out the high ranking Tanga Tanga out of office and insert others. Because, of the lack discipline, there was 5 more nominated senators who was expelled today.
So, it means between the 11th May and 13th May, 8 Senators from Tanga Tanga has gotten whipped and kicked out high ranking roles in government. This is within days of the coalition was forged and put in print. Which was only officially on the 8th May. This is clear deliberate actions of the President to usher in the new and leave the old. Ruto and team is pointless, they are garbage and useless. That is why they are whipped out, one by one.
The whole enterprise is clear. Take out, one by one of the loyalists to the Deputy President. Make him as irrelevant as possible. Ensure that the Tanga Tanga, the people surrounding him has less of say and less responsibilities. So, that you can make the whole Jubilee-KANU Coalition look golden ahead of 2021.
There been talk, that Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and his Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) wants to join in. That wouldn’t be shocking. His been searching and looking to be part of a winning team. I am sure Isaac Rutto of Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) is looking for better fortunes too.
This is all signs of everyone scraping to get theirs. Soon, we will hear possibly Musalia Mudavadi, Amani National Congress (ANC) wants his piece of the action too. Who can wonder if Moses Wetangula, Forum for the Restoration of Democracy–Kenya (FORD–Kenya) wants join with his party. Gods knows if Baba or Raila Odinga, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) wants to be apart of this, as his in the pseudo-government-official role, because of the BBI or if his scraping that now?
Who knows, but day by day were are seeing one clear looser. That is Ruto and his team. They are pinched out, one by one. Seems like the President is really flexing and wants to have as many allies as possible to make sure the Ruto allegiance is as weak as possible. Since, he can show that he got leaders from every creek and corner. That he got support and the ones with support there.
Seemingly, this struggle and battle both within Jubilee and with the talks of a grand coalition is not over. There is even speculations of the Grand-National-Unity Government. Which means that plenty of parties are participating in it. Totally making Tanga Tanga irrelevant and powerless. Only backbenchers and clout chasers.
Well, I don’t know, but Uhruu Kenyatta and his allies are playing big. They are moving and ensuring their men is behind the wheel. The purge has started and its for real. Who knows what scalp is up next, but ensure that its for the grand restructure of Jubilee and the new paradigm government. The dynasties don’t play, they are in it for the long-con. They are finding ways to ensure their wealth and their power doesn’t go unchecked. Peace.
Opinion: The Dynasties are in it for the long-con
Now, it’s revealed that the Kenya African National Union (KANU) and Jubilee Party is seeking a Post-Election coalition. This is happening during this week, as the letters are leaked. They are showing the parties are starting to work together. This means that Gideon Moi (KANU), the son of Daniel Arap Moi is scheming ahead with Uhuru Kenyatta (Jubilee Party), the son of Jomo Kenyatta.
So, here we are the Handshake between Kenyatta and Odinga sidelined the Tanga Tanga. The Orange Democratic Movement got an upper-hand, as the purge on allies of Deputy President William Ruto has continued in the Senate and in Parliament. While, the likes of Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka have been able to get a honourable task in South Sudan. While Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula has both left the short end of the stick.
Now, they are all a bit on the rocks. Not that Raila Odinga and his men isn’t covered. They are at least in the halfway house until the elections. While Kenyatta continues scheming and making ways to secure the future. First he bought peace with Odinga and now he secures the future with Moi,
This is Kenyatta and Moi settling the score. They are planning ahead of 2022. This is how to sideline the Hustler Nation and Ruto. The DP was already pushed to the side with the handshake. Where the buying the peace and securing a ally by buying time and making Odinga a pseudo-government-official. That has worked like a tailspin. The carrot being working for a sort of constitutional change or a referendum, by making it look like a joint venture.
Also giving both of them a viable choice ahead of the election. Using Gideon as a shield, as Uhuru cannot govern another term. The trade is a boost Moi need to have any shot. Its a trade that makes sense for them. However, than there will be more friction between Tanga Tanga and if they are going out of the Jubilee creating something else ahead of the election.
ODM will still be in the limbo after this. They have already traded off some of the leverage. Unless, the ODM and Odinga ditches the BBI. Then, they will also suffer consequences of being nowhere. Yes, the will be the majority opposition in Parliament, but that’s it. They can’t use the previous election nor come with new solutions. Because, they don’t have the majority Jubilee has.
Now, that Jubilee have aligned itself with KANU. We are seeing that both Tanga Tanga and ODM is sidelined. The whole former NASA and CORD isn’t there. They are all outplayed and has little to give. Unless, they are able to forge a grander plan and a manifesto, which grasps the public ahead of 2022. These men are clearly out there fishing, but Odinga hasn’t saved them and neither will Kenyatta.
Moi has with this made himself very relevant. His father is someone Kenyatta and Ruto went to for advice. Surely, they now see it as fit to forge away for Gideon. If the public will give another dynasty ago. That is something the time will tell. Odinga is surely still the Baba of many and has able to switch the coin plenty of times. However, will he be able to sell a new “Canaan” away from the BBI?
I have a hard time seeing that, unless his that conning and wise. That he turns this around and can spin the wheel from his pseudo-government-official environment into a reformer again. Since, his sort of traded with the peace gathering and the whole BBI.
Kenyatta is the one for now, who does the moves of a victor. However, that means he still need the biggest support of Jubilee behind him. Even if the Tanga Tanga flees. They got to figure if they will accept a dynasty ticket. That is not easy, because they supposed to be loyal to Ruto.
The losers here for the long-con is Odinga and Ruto. Unless, Odinga accept his half-way house and seems content with those prospects. However, Ruto is losing and quickly. Sooner or later, the KANU representatives will be upgraded into offices and then the Tanga Tanga will be taken out. That is just a matter of time. As a warning of the shifting alliances ahead of 2022. Peace.
Kenya Human Rights Commission on the Occasion of the Death of Kenya’s Second President Daniel Arap Moi (07.02.2020)

Opinion: No need to celebrate Daniel Arap Moi, but we need to remember the lives he took!
There are deliberate attempts of sanitizing the history of the 24 years of the President Daniel Arap Moi. The years of 1979 to 2002. The Kenya African National Union, the previous Vice-President under the first President Jomo Kenyatta after independence in 1963.
President Moi was ruthless. President Moi used all force and unleashed the state upon the dissidents of the state. Mwakenya (Kenya Nationalist Redemption Union) was one of the opposition movements that the President targeted in his time. He targeted the dissidents of the Saba Saba (Swahili for 7). Arrested several of their leaders, including Raila Odinga for 3 months. He went after Wangari Mathaai, arrests, assaults and spreading fear.
In February 1990, Robert Ouko, the Minister for Foreign Affairs was assassinated, later in the year in August; the bishop of Eldoret Alexander Muge was killed in a suspicious “car-accident”.
While this explains the modus operandi of KANU under Moi:
“A number of factors point to the continuity in the philosophy of the KANU government, the first being the promulgation of the Constitution (Public Security) Order of 1978, 90 which effected Sections 4(1) and (2)(a) and (b) of the Preservation of Public Security Act,9′ soon followed by the Public Security (Detained and Restricted Persons) Regulations, identical to those existing previously. On December 12, 1978, arap Moi released all political detainees, but since that time he has thrown several more political opponents into jail, following arrests and trials that are a travesty of accepted norms of justice. Among these are included over 1,000 military personnel court-martialled for treason in mid-September 1982, and over 132 alleged to have been arrested or to have “disappeared.” Furthermore, 58 people are said to have been killed by the security forces since 1981” (Oloka-Onyango, J. (1990) “Police Powers, Human Rights, and the State in Kenya and Uganda: A Comparative Analysis,” Third World, Legal Studies: Vol. 9, Article 1”).
Freedom House reported this:
“The regime of Daniel arap Moi has become increasingly oppressive. Because Kenya has enjoyed relative prosperity in a free market economy, a significant and vocal middle class has emerged. When two former cabinet members, Kenneth Matiba and Charles Rubia, called for the legalization of opposition parties, they were vilified, harassed and eventually arrested. Demonstrations and riots ensued producing a brutal crackdown. Moi vowed to stay in office ten years or more and promised to hunt down his opponents “like rats.”” (Freedom House – Freedom in the World – Political Rights & Civil Liberties -1990-1991, 1991).
Also the TRJC Volume 4 report states this:
“The Commission finds that between 1978 and 2002, President Daniel Arap Moi presided over a government that was responsible for numerous gross violations of human rights. These violations include:
- massacres;
- unlawful detentions, and systematic and widespread torture and ill-treatment of political and human rights activists;
- assassinations, including that of Dr. Robert Ouko;
- illegal and irregular allocations of land;
- and economic crimes and grand corruption” (Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission – ‘REPORT OF THE TRUTH, JUSTICE AND RECONCILIATION COMMISSION – VolumeIV’ 2013).
Just these reports says enough. As plenty of people are writing of his greatness, his stature, as the old man, the supposed statement. While the toils, the pain and the suffering. The ruthless man, who used all tools, called out opposition and treated them as worst can be. Opposition fearing of assassinations and so on. When you fear for plots to kill you, you know your leadership isn’t that good. That should be easy to understand.
With this reality, the memory of Daniel Arap Moi, will for my part. Be in the remembrance of the ones he took. The lives that he hurt, scorned and killed, the missing people, the ones who he stopped. Those are the victims of him, the ones who most likely never had a case to answer for their demise.
While the President is now praised, honoured, called a “Strongman” and someone who did his thing. However, he should be remembered for the blood on his hands, for the victims and the ones arrested because of his orders. That he did this and did it deliberately. No one should deny that.
Moi shall be remembered for being a tyrant, a dictator and a ruthless man with sins we cannot forget. Because, we don’t won’t the next generation nor this generation to emulate the character, which was Danial arap Moi. Peace.
The simple reason for the rising prices of UNGA!
If you wonder why suddenly the prices are running high for the UNGA again in Kenya. That is because the state has added taxes, they are trying to collect more money again. This is happening because its months since the elections and the subsidized UNGA is history. Therefore, expect rising prices, the maize and milk cartels want their profits. If they happen to in the pocket of the government at the same time. Is just convenient, even some of the companies earning on the sky-rocketing prices is the President himself and his own companies. I am sure the DP also owns connected businesses that could eat of the this plate too. While the ordinary and poor population will struggle to have ends meet as the government are taxing them even more.
Added Taxes:
“Poor households would be more exposed in the amendments with sweeping implications on many sectors, as the State seeks to raise Sh1.75 trillion in the next financial year. Most basic commodities are not taxed to cushion the poor, but the changes that will be proposed in the national budget will end that. “We are looking at exemptions on several products that are widely consumed, but not on VAT such as milk, sugar, maize flour, wheat flour…,” said Benson Korongo, a commissioner of Kenya Revenue Authority” (Michira, 2018).
Prediction of the reaction to the taxes:
“Milk and cream, not concentrated nor containing added sugar or other sweetening matter” (…) “Suppliers of the affected supplies will not be able to claim any input tax incurred in making of such supplies. This cost will be borne by the final consumers. Reverting to exemption of these basic commodities a year later after they had been zero-rated will lead to an increase in their prices rendering them less affordable to the ordinary Citizens” (…) “The supply of maize (corn) flour, ordinary bread and cassava flour, wheat or meslin flour and maize flour containing cassava flour by more than 10% in weight” (…) “Reverting to exemption of these basic commodities a year later after they had been zero-rated will lead to an increase in their prices rendering them less affordable to ordinary Citizens” (Ey Global Tax Alert Library, 2018)
It is special when Ernest & Young (EY) whose is known for their advice for potential investors and people who plans for invest in a republic. They have usual advice, which shows the potential and the grips of reality. Their analysis from April are now coming in effect in the end of May, as the local papers like Standard write about it now. But they say it might happen in July.
The state has favorably subsidized it and also imported on its own, that might happen again. But the added tax will hit the public. Make the staple food more expensive, because of added taxes. The shops, the importers, the distribution companies will not take the hit. The hit is always ending up at the consumer, the buyer and not the ones who produce, distribute and sells. That is known and the way we play. Seriously, when the state plans with these taxes to earn over a trillion shillings, nearly two, means they are anticipating selling enough of the needed goods and services connected with the new taxes to actually be sold.
So the prices on the staple is rising, because the Jubilee Government, the President and his party is doing it. This is their orders and their will, it is not the international market or a drought, it is initial planning and what the state does to get more revenue.
Jubilee whose are eating all of the state, needs more revenue to make another NYS Scandal, take more funds from the likes of NHIF and inappropriately use unaccounted funds in the various government bodies. Peace.
