Moses Kuria, the troublemaker gotten into more trouble…

Now, there is change of things and it changes swiftly, the former masters of all fate and the ones in closest circles of power. Suddenly fall astray and looses their feet. Moses Kuria MP is a man whose been able to run away from asking for the assassination of Raila Odinga and also manhunt for all opposition voters in Kiambu after the 8th August 2017.

This weekend, Kuria has been behind bars, even as the Court Orders was saying he was supposed to be free. Even then he had to pay bail and was free this evening on Saturday 11th January 2020. After wanting to go on hunger-strike and everything behind bars. However, have a hard time feeling sorry for him. Especially, if the allegations of assault against a woman is true. Because, men with power and ability can easily misuse it.

He has already gotten away with hate-speech several of times with only small scratches. He has not answered for his hateful words, his direct attacks on the opposition and Odinga. Moses knows this and he has gotten off the hook, again and again.

This time might be different. Since his not as vital or important anymore. His not that useful and his starting to attack his own government. Moses is one of DP Ruto’s men and that allegiance clearly doesn’t pay-off. As his seemingly alone in this. He got tear-gassed with other MPs and wasn’t freed still. His suffering now, is what the NASA MPs and other had to pay in 2016 and 2017. When he wished them all ill, as he was the upper-echelon guy.

If Kuria thought the adventure and the fairytale would last forever. He was wrong, as politics is a fickle thing. Moses should know this, as Kalonzo and Odinga has been able to get power and appointments, even as they not in government. But are semi-there now.

Kuria should know the handshake changed the political landscape and the BBI has given game to ODM. Now, Kuria as the one hand of the Jubilee, have to walk differently.

What is really rich about his situation this weekend. Is that he went from this on Thursday: “On 9th January, 2020 the Chamber President Mr. Ngatia hosted Hon. Moses Kuria in his office where they discussed the importance of Foreign Direct Investment in improving emerging market opportunities” (KNCCI – ‘COURTESY VISIT BY HON. MOSES KURIA TO THE CHAMBER PRESIDENT’ 09.01.2020).

On the 10th January 2020 the DCI reported this: “Gatundu South MP Hon. Moses Kuria was today morning arrested by DCI Kenya Detectives based at DCI Kilimani following an Assault report lodged against him on 10th December, 2019. He is currently being held in lawful custody as further investigations ensue” (DCI Kenya, 10.01.2020).

There after he was tear-gassed and also held until Saturday 11th January on bail. While he has to show up in Court on the 13th January 2020 to answer the allegations and the charges made against him. Kuria is off the hook on Sunday, but will be back to answer the law on Monday.

Moses surely is not untouchable, the state doesn’t even honour Court Orders in his favour to release him. That happened a day later. Therefore, he know now what it means to have lost power and influence, which he used to have. Kuria is not as great as he wants to be. His an MP and been part of Jubilee, but now that doesn’t matter. He cannot speak without costs and therefore, the law finds him.

He got away before, but not anymore. The reality hits and he still has to answer for the charges and allegations. If they are true, its really bad, if it is fake; its badly made by the ones who alleged them and got him charged.

Moses Kuria is allowed to address Odinga in political manner, his allowed to disown the BBI, but his not allowed to assault anyone. If that charge is made because what I mentioned. Its wrong from the get-go. Kuria MP have spoken ill before, hate-speech and in a manner nobody deserve. Wanted people hunted, assassinated and so-on.

He has put the fate of Odinga on God. Now, he might have start to pray to the same God for salvation and redemption. As he know is in-line of fire. He has the right to speak, but not all sort of vomit. That is something he should know as an Representative. Kuria MP has to act reasonable now.

His not a saint, but doesn’t deserve ill treatment either. But as a lawmaker, he should answer accordingly towards the laws his able to change as MP. Nevertheless, the MP should not breach it himself and think he could get away with. That is why his on thin ice now and with lack of support by many. This because of how his acted in the past and I don’t blame them. It is sort of the chickens coming home to roost.

Moses, you better change yourself. Call the DP and beg forgiveness, maybe beg for mercy even. If the DP will save his soldier. If not, he might have to fall. Who knows, but the MP isn’t a martyr. His just one man, whose time to fall is now. If not, this is a final warning. Maybe he wasn’t prepared for that, but his time has apparently come. Peace.

Kenya: IEBC – Subject: IEBC is not Punching Bag for Political Mileage (08.01.2020)

Opinion: Leaks shows the extensive cooperation between Cambridge Analytica and Kenyatta

It is for many common knowledge that the Strategic Communications Laboratories (SCL) Elections and Cambridge Analytica (CA) involvement in the two elections in 2017. They were direct partners and the guys behind the scene for the incumbent and the Jubilee Party. These was all doing work to secure the President Uhuru Kenyatta second term.

There been plenty of speculation and the inner-works of the Cambridge Analytica team in Kenya together with SCL Elections. What Hindsight 2020 leaks are showing is the behind scenes operations of CA and SCL in regards to Kenyatta. It doesn’t show what they really did, nor the data-sets, what they collected or if they were in cahoots with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), which has been reported and speculated about. Since, the IEBC wouldn’t open their servers nor their tallies from the elections. Therefore, even in 2020 we cannot know what is there or if the IP-Address or direct connection with the CA.

Isaac Ndung’u or Isaac Kanino from Kanino Global limited who on behalf of Kenyatta and the Jubilee mailed the CA. What more the leaks shows is that SCL was already one the making the brand and the foundation for TNA/Jubilee in 2013 and their continued work with Kenyatta and Jubilee was an extension of what it had done in the past.

They made extensive plans and had a whole idea of what they were going to do. Not only a little survey, but a major one. Ensure they audit the whole party, their messages, their communications and even their speeches. That means, SCL/CA was the party within the party and the organizer hired to run a party and what is perceived by. As well, as ensuring the messages it spreads got into the media and understood by the public.

The SCL/CA even offered directly a Communication Team by monthly fees of $55,000 per month. What this shows still what intent and what services the SCL/CA did for Jubilee. As they were outsiders, whose known for collecting information from social media and make analysis for political parties. Surely, they would do the same data crunch for Kenyatta and Jubilee. Even if they don’t mention this in any of the documents, they still tried to sell the holistic campaign package. Which means, they wanted to run the whole thing, especially if the Kenyans paid and the SCL/CA in the leaked mails and documents shows that Jubilee was one of the biggest contracts.

That means the Jubilee and Kenyatta really used the services to an extent we cannot grasp. Even with these sort of leaks. But we don’t have the payouts from Jubilee nor the Government. Neither, do we have the MoU, the NDAs and Contract itself. However, we do know they did business and SCL/CA was proud of it. That says it all. As we know by what happen over the years, what the contractors was doing elsewhere and why shouldn’t they do that in Kenya too?

To think otherwise is naive. We miss still a few dots, but every little inkling shows what they did and what they offered. Now, we just need more of their print, their stamp and approved works. Than, we can say how deep these companies was involved in the Jubilee and with Kenyatta’s campaign. We are damn sure the Kenyans paid them a handsome sum of cash and surely operational fees. But, then we know, that Kenyatta and his team didn’t use their wit, but used technical and data collected from others to actually create his messages and run his campaign. He couldn’t even bother trying to do it on his own or with his advisers. That is weak tea. Peace.

Kenya: CSO’s letter or Secretary to the Cabinet Joseph Kinyua – Re: Request for Information Regarding Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and Building Bridges to Unity Advisory Taskforce (18.12.2019)

Opinion: Extending the BBI is all about buying the involved parties time

This Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) is now the vehicle to keep the relevance of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the Jubilee government afloat. As they have a joint project, which has no proper mandate, but buys the President and his cronies time to loot. The BBI is a smokescreen and the project is not only flawed, but built on the wrong premises.

That Odinga is doing is, seems so that he has a purpose. Because without the BBI he would be a lost fellow, who claimed to be President, but gave it away with the handshake. That is how it seems. The Report showed this, like a hallow manifesto with grandeur and big-man words, but not the initial wording to make it a legal text.

That is why December, two weeks or so after the release of the report. The State and ODM still pushes the need for the Taskforce and the BBI. This means its a tool for legitimacy and buying time. Since, there is nothing substantial being done, neither motions nor bills being made with the recommendations from the report. Which is showing the real intent.

Just look at the statements made during the previous week on the matter, first the State House and than Odinga.

State House statement:

The President and the Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga thanked the team for putting together a report that captures the aspirations of Kenyans and requested the Taskforce to continue leading the BBI process. The Taskforce will therefore steer the next phase of the process which will largely involve expanding and guiding public participation, and structuring recommendations by Kenyans into implementable action plans” (State House – ‘President Kenyatta Extends Term Of BBI Taskforce’ 12.12.2019).

Odinga statement on 17th December:

As a party, it is in our DNA to take a stand on critical issues of the day. ODM never stands or sits on the fence. We never sway with the wind from this side to that when the interests of the nation are at stake. That is what we have done with the Handshake and the BBI. We have taken a stand based on very clear understanding of what is to be achieved. We have been able to merge our interests as a party with the broader interests of the nation and supported the BBI. We are in this to redesign the architecture of our nation” (…) “ The BBI enabled Kenyans to voice these concerns that clearly threaten our nation. The same BBI gives us a chance to address these concerns. From here one, what we should be debating is what to adopt, what to amend and what to discard out of the BBI proposals” (ODM Reloaded – ‘REMARKS OF H.E RAILA ODINGA, EGH, ODM PARTY LEADER AT THE JOINT ODM PG/NEC ON THE BBI REPORT; DECEMBER 17, 2019’).

Clearly, they intend to do something, but seems like a fancy way of promising change, while conducting more consultations and more rallies for the same. They are supposed to gather more evidence and more public involvement into it. As they are supposed to find the consensus within the public and design the Republic thereafter.

However, that means the BBI will use more government funds for a supposed progression reports and whatnot. Not just the first findings. The BBI halfway project are getting a second mandate. To build on the foundation and supposed do something. Even if there are no real clear mandate, neither here nor there. Neither is the task nor the committee anywhere to be seen.

The BBI seems more and more like a side-show. A play for the guards. To keep preoccupied, instead of actually governing. Because, why do you need to govern, when you got someone in the future giving you guidance, while they are not in office. Why do the work? When someone else will tell you to do something else.

The BBI in this way, seems to be the meal-ticket, the safe-guard and the method to buy relevance of the ODM and Odinga. While Kenyatta get friendly faces from his arch-nemesis and his associates. In this way, get legitimacy and power. In a way, where he doesn’t even have to work. He can just read the delivered paperwork and call it a day.

That is how it seems now. The BBI as a project is just for show and PR. It is not for betterment nor for progress. This is a game for paid state officials jobs and keeping the status quo as it is. The BBI is just letting all the talk go, while the lack of governing is forgotten in the drama of the BBI. Peace.

Opinion: Kenyatta’s Week of Anger

It seems like its been a week of anger in concern of President Uhuru Kenyatta. It is hard to know why he suddenly gotten so mad. Maybe the fuzz of the beers or whatever he drinks doesn’t work anymore. Maybe some international organizations doesn’t want to borrow money without to many strings anymore. Who knows? But certainly, his not the happy, go lucky President of the past.

Kenyatta has gone after the ones claiming he was silent. He has targeted the ones who commented on the BBI Report before it was published. Uhuru has addressed the Tanga Tanga and Ruto allies. But not in friendliness, but straight forward attacks.

First with the silent quote, before the carrying own cross!

They see me silent and think ‘he is just there and knows nothing. There is nothing I do not know and when the time comes, I know those who speak and they are not those who are speaking now. When the time comes, we will come and we will speak to you about what we will do. Mwaka mpya, we are with you. Let’s just first listen to their lectures. We are with you” – Uhuru Kenyatta on the 4th December 2019

Please let us not politicize the war on corruption. When an individual is stealing public resources he doesn’t do so on behalf of his family or community. Therefore, anyone who is implicated should carry their own cross” Uhuru Kenyatta on the 8th December 2019

With this he shows that his made and furious. Not that Kenyatta haven’t shown that before. He has whined before in public about his war on corruption. Not that its believable, because his closest cronies and known grand corruption scandals, which are not touched or have had any consequences. They have just gotten appointed elsewhere or gotten away scotch-free.

That is why his anger and frustration only seems forced. That the President only says this things, because he knows this is the right thing to say. However, his actions and his state of affairs is saying otherwise. That is why its not believable.

It is a mirage, that the President think he can create on his own. He thinks he can build it and make the image of it into reality. When its only a creation of his own imagination. The President can continue with his harsh words, warn and talk of sanctions. The President can continue to assault one part of the political elite or professions, but that wouldn’t change anything.

Kenyatta can act mad, can act sad or even glad. Nevertheless, the real actions are shown with what he borrows, the debt-ratio he leaves behind, the state deficit and the lack of good results from his time in office. That Kenyatta have little to show compared to the Big Four promise or the other pledges. Is because the state has been busy doing other things and securing their time to eat. The President has accepted it too, because he has eaten too.

That is why, the current outcry and stable battle against corruption goes old. When it really isn’t targeting the ones on the top, but the small fringe players and the ones whose has their turns. That is why Kenyatta can play and think PR speeches will save his behind. However, it will not. It is a lot of noise, but no real action. Peace.
