Opinion: NRM Fiction continues as Kizza Besigye’s “Treason Trial” at Nakawa Court pending until mid-September!

Nakawa 12.08.2016 KB

As the National Resistance Movement regime continues their oppression against the FDC leader Dr. Kizza Besigye; the treason charges against the Opposition leaders after his swearing-in of himself on the 11th May 2016. We are now in mid-August and still the case is not set in stone. If there we’re anything on the charge of Treason they would have time to collect the evidence and affidavits of the witnesses who we’re connected to the conspiracy.

The Nakawa Magistrate Court had yet another session for the case that continues indefinitely as all the cases against piles up so he cannot live an ordinary life or be a proper politician.

What was up today:

“Former Forum for Democratic Change presidential Candidate, Dr. Kizza Besigye is this morning (9am) expected to appear before the Nakawa Magistrates Court for mention of treason charges preferred against him. Besigye will appear before court chief magistrate James Eremye Mawanda” (Radiocity 97FM, 12.08.2016)

Defence in court today:

“…my Lord there is no law that says investigations should take 6 months. All the issues they are raising to charge me are all obvious and true.  They say I demanded an audit and it’s true, they say I won elections and yes it’s true. So what are they investigating? Your worship I ask the court to put an end to this “.

“”They said I had asked for an independent Audit, yes I did. They said that I said I had won an election yes I did. The said that I had put in place a cabinet Yes I did”

“So what is making them to take this long to charge me? They can reinstate the case whenever they are ready.  I pray that this case is stopped today.”

What is the end of today in Nakawa:

“Nakawa court has adjourned the hearing of Dr Kizza Besigye treason case to September 12th over pending state investigations” (NBS TV Uganda, 12.08.2016).

KB Nakawa 12.08.2016

So the continuation of the Court dates for Dr. Kizza Besigye and trials proves how much the Government works to silence the Opposition that are questioning the legitimacy of the NRM Regime. Therefore they are continuing to pound on the man. Because they doesn’t have the evidence or the witnesses to the case yet, even if they have continue this prolonged investigation and trial dates.

The NRM and the Ruling Regime is really conning when it comes to this war-games with fellow opposition as this is not the first time Besigye has a Treason charge. By the time now it doesn’t seem to end. The Cases even from Walk to Work protest in Kabale Magistrate Court is prolonged and this 2016. It proof of fiction from the ruling regime and no other probable causes… if so the evidences would already be collected and taken to court.

The reality is that President Museveni and his cronies think they are so wise and genuine, but they are not. They are just playing shadow games with their own destiny and their little reputation as they use the oppositions as Pawns. That is why they all of sudden have the Uganda Federal Alliance in Cabinet of the 10th Parliament, together with the Uganda People’s Congress and one from the Democratic Party. This proves the level of extent for validation the NRM government needs, but doesn’t get from Dr. Kizza Besigye.

With this in mind… with the reality of the fiction that they claim to be reality they pursue their own demise and their own tales of trials against fellow citizens to continue to hold power. Something that proves: how little rule of law and elections matters as they are only hold to continue the prolonged escapism of Musevenism. Peace.

Gen. Wamala: UPDF to probe cases of soldiers’ involvement in beating opposition supporters (Youtube-Clip)

“The Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Edward Katumba has asked the Commandant of Military Police to identify his men who beat supporters of FDC’s Dr. Kizza Besigye on the day he was bailed from prison in July. Katumba Wamala says the actions of the officers are in breach of the law. Meanwhile, Parliament’s Defense and Internal Affairs committee today heard that the Intergovernmental Authority on Development IGAD refused Uganda to deploy in South Sudan as part of a peace keeping mission aimed at ending the ongoing fighting there” (NTV Uganda, 2016)

The Calvary in massive debt after the General Election of 2016

UPF 11.02.2016 Block FDC P1

Oh Gee, who knew right? Who would have thought that the Uganda Police Force would generate such amount of money trouble that the issue came for the Parliament on the 3rd of August 2016. Months upon Months after the General Election; the costly re-election of the politicized partisan police gets into fiscal issues. After using live bullet, throwing most of Forum for Democratic Change hardliners and candidates into detentions, house-arrest of Presidential Candidates, using the flying squad for house-calls and even monitoring all kind of political activity. Even with the extra budget for military and Police Force for the Post-Election violence; still the tab for the Police Force under Inspector General Edward Kale Kayihura has overspent the cash-flow of the “ministry”.

Who knew right? With the House-arrest the overflowing of helicopters, mambas, tear-gas and newly brought equipment in the docks of Mombasa days before the polls; the man-hours and the expensive new cars for the District Police Commanders, the tab had to be expensive. The paychecks and the little payment for the providing Crime Preventers who knocked down and supposed to silence opposition also cost a buck or two.

New Equipment for UG Police 23.02.2016

The reasoning for the capital are all there, the reminders of the payments for the service rendered. The validity of using fortunes on keeping Besigye and FDC under siege has had its cost. The report in Parliament today we’re staggering Shs. 91 billion in debt for the Police Force. Because of this IGP Kayihura chickened out of showing up and address the deficiency as the meager violent leader he is.

Not to talk about the man hours and cost for keeping opposition youth behind bars, the escalated kangaroo courts up and the massive overload of petitions for freeing the men and woman who got caught. As the spying police forces together with payments for crime preventers and their training facilities before and during election period. The Uganda Police Force must be so proud of their efforts.

The continuing shipment of political activists and the guarding of public schools and hospitals in the districts also cost money instead of catching thieves and the ones doing corrupt activity. This also put on the tab. So the reasons for the overburden of budget and monies are enormous. The ironic thing is that IGP Kayihura who doesn’t like to be put in questioned or monitored; should have some fiscal sense as the Intelligence gathering apparently doesn’t comply to the ways he spends the fortunes on keeping Besigye at bay in his Kasangati home or making sure that Lukwago doesn’t get to deliver his Election form on time. The jollies of being Police Commander in Uganda, I guess.

IGP Kale Kayihura 16.12.15 P2

The ones that should pay this is the ones that have a hard time understanding the cost of operations of this kind, the man that just orders, but doesn’t deliver. The long living and eternal ruler Museveni who the PC Kayihura follows like a blind dog; time to sell a bunch of goats and cows to Salva Kiir of South Sudan, as Riek Machar just stole a bunch from him; I shouldn’t have said it, they might do it at the end of the day. More likely they find a new way of taking the foreign exchange from Bank of Uganda or even steal more from state coffers as they always do. If they didn’t then it wouldn’t be the NRM-Regime and Museveni way.

Those who we’re surprised and shocked forgot the aggravated actions of the Police Force during the elections as they even had pre-ticked ballots in Police vehicles and at Police Stations. The Police is full-fledged part of the NRM-O at this point of history, their violent right hand to fist the public with their batons and throw tear-gas at them. They are just vicious and brutal. Just like their master Museveni who likes guns and cows, but hate opposition. Peace.

Besigye makes appearance at High Court as part of bail requirements (Youtube-Clip)

“Crowds followed the Former FDC presidential candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye shortly after reporting to the High-court’s Criminal Division to fulfill one of the conditions court set for his bail on release.
This is the first time Besigye is reporting back before the court’s deputy Registrar since his release on bail on the 12th of this month by Highcourt Judge Masalu Musene” (NTV Uganda, 2016)

Remmy Bhati interviews Besigye: “Besigye’s social life in Prison” (Youtube-Clip)

Kizza Besigye addresses press at FDC’s headquarters in Najjanankumbi (Youtube-Clip)

“Kizza Besigye: Before my arrest, I had been under illegal detention at my house in Kasangati for quite a while. He says police is “incompetent” despite the resources they “waste”. Says he defied acts of impunity when he escaped to town

Kizza Besigye narrates his arrest ordeal:

– I was taken first to Nalufenya in Jinja from where I was removed and taken to Moroto.

– In Moroto, strange things happened. All inmates were transferred to other police stations. I was the only inmate at the CPS.

– Counter-terrorism unit officers (the ones who wear black uniforms) were in charge of the Moroto CPS while I was there.

– I was in Moroto CPS for two nights before being charged on the third day.

– At Moroto CPS, the cell door was left open. At night, I noticed some movements. The fellow was masked but he rushed out.

– Charging me in Moroto was irregular. When I was brought to Nakawa, that is why I was charged again for the same case.

Kizza Besigye: Those of us who chose to oppose must know the dictator’s wrath will be directed towards us. Arrest. Torture. And sometimes death. Whenever I am arrested, I am at ease with myself. I am always psychologically prepared for arrest and torture. I am never stressed.

Dr. Kizza Besigye: Biggest challenge is when you are still in police custody. Police is a direct extension of the dictator. It’s his arm.

I was relieved when I was taken from Moroto CPS and taken to the prison. Biggest challenge with our prisons is overcrowding. Besigye: At Moroto Prison, we were 174 inmates in a not-very-sizeable ward. At night, every space was occupied

Kizza Besigye: Prison orders for prisoners on remand aren’t fault of prison officials but fault of the law which dates back to the colonial times. These prison orders dating back to colonial times are unconstitutional. They must change.

Kizza Besigye: Prison orders for prisoners on remand aren’t fault of prison officials but fault of the law which dates back to the colonial times. These prison orders dating back to colonial times are unconstitutional. They must change.

Kizza Besigye: In Moroto where I was held, there hadn’t been a hearing for any criminal case in over 2 years. This is serious and it needs to change. The judiciary is underfunded. The money is spent by these Kifeesi you see running and bludgeoning citizens

Kizza Besigye: I commend the Uganda Red Cross, especially the International Red Cross. They have made the lives of inmates bearable by providing basics

Kizza Besigye: There are those remanded on minister’s orders; you are on remand until the minister orders your release or commits you to be tried. Some people have been in prison on minister’s orders for 20 years. This needs to stop.

Kizza Besigye: Sometimes, police go to prisons and take out suspects illegally for interrogation. Some are taken up country

Kizza Besigye: I thank all those who came to visit me in prison. Going to visit any prisoner in Luzira is not an easy matter. You pass through five check points. At some, you are undressed and deprived of basic dignity. You must set aside a whole day

Kizza Besigye: Some people are saying I have put on weight. I have been eating a lot without doing much. I tried doing some exercises

KIzza Besigye: The struggle we are in is not to simply get a new government i.e. replace NRM with FDC. We want to change our country. We want to change our country from a country where leaders are masters and the would-be masters, the citizens, are subjects

Kizza Besigye: We have criminals masquerading under the police. The institution of the police must be a different institution. Greatest of our policemen, soldiers are very unhappy with what’s happening. That is why we won at polling stations where they voted

Kizza Besigye: We want a country of masters, not subjects. We want a country where leaders are servants. In the country we’re working for, government institutions must be of the people not of the master/dictator.

Kizza Besigye: Ugandan citizens who are masters of this country are just being given handouts. There is a war between the rulers and the citizens. That is why they beat up the citizens. The regime sees citizens as enemies

Kizza Besigye: What happened in the last election wasn’t mere stealing of votes but a coup d’etat against the voters. People who want us to join the government in the name of serving Ugandans, serve them under which framework?” (NBS Live, 13.07.2016)
