Opinion: The party of rebels cannot tolerate rebels

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) was born out a rebellion. That is at least their own tales and ethos, on how it went into existence. How they went to the bush and fought the government to topple it in the 1980s. That is the gist of it all…

That’s why it’s hypocritical and funny that it’s acting so swiftly and hard on rebels within its own rank. They are doing this constantly. Rebecca Kadaga is getting the same treatment as plenty before her. There is nothing new in this and the acts of vengeance coming her way. We have seen before and how the party dismantle and destroy its rebels.

That’s a mere fact in 2021. That nobody and no one should challenge Museveni. The vanguard and the principal sole custodian of the party. In his own spirit, the living being of the party, that everyone is supposed to adore and worship. He is the majesty and they are his court. The jester, the confidant and his servants. They are all there to follow and be inspired by him.

That’s why nobody should question him or even dare to be disregard to his every action. They shouldn’t dare or even think about it. It is ironic, but also the modus operandi of the party. That no one should even question or insult the high mighty. The ones who has aspirations or even dreams of succeeding him get a scorched earth tactic too. Everything that can be burned, will be burnt and there will be left no witnesses behind.

Kadaga will go through the same issues as other before her. Where the rants, the rouge actions will cost her. The party will sanction and take actions against her. She did the inevitable and stood up against their decision, which wasn’t her to make. Just like others who had ambition and wants to run against Museveni. These have been wing-clipped and humiliated too.

This being Mbabazi, Bukenya and other rebel MPs. Who has been kicked out screaming without any hesitation or worry? Since everyone knows where the power resides and where the final judgement is ordered. The same knew Kadaga perfectly well, since she’s been on top and smelled the roses. She has seen people come and go. Kadaga knows but thought she could be above it.

It is only one man who is above it and we know who that man is. It is not Jesus Christ or God Almighty, no it is Museveni. Mr. Sunday is never to be opposed or even consider a ill-thought about. You are never supposed to cross him or date to double-cross him. If you do… you are in deep water and could soon sleep with the fishes. Therefore, Kadaga should have known this.

She has seen how people fall off the cliff and never returns. However, she has offended the don and her time has come. She had her little rebellion and now is forced to face the consequences. There are only one General and one Chairmen, the rest are disposable. That is the initial gist of it all… Peace.

Opinion: Kadaga can blow up a lot of smoke

“Fellow Ugandans, I have come to inform the people of Uganda that my party has opted not to give me the party flag for Speaker of Parliament. I have therefore decided to run as an independent” – Rebecca Kadaga (23.05.2021).

Today and in the recent days it’s all natural that Rebecca Kadaga gets in her feelings. That she puts on Drake and sing along to sad tunes. That’s all natural at this point. She has had a long stint or a decade in the role as the Speaker in Parliament. In the 11^th Parliament her fate is sealed and there is no way for her to win.

The National Resistance Movement Central Executive Committee have decided to put someone else forward to be the speaker in this term. That means Kadaga’s fall is inevitable. She has lost her position and office over night. That was to be expected and a trade-off would happen behind the scenes. However, Kadaga seemed to think she was entitled to this.

That’s why she suddenly wants to run as an Independent in the Speakership race. However, the loyalty and the party cadres of the NRM is supposed to follow party line. Meaning, she will no way in hell be able to conquer or overcome the obstacle of the NRM party in the 11^th Parliament. There is no way they will vote in favour of her and her cause. That’s a no go and they will not defy the NRM CEC.

The Parliament is supposed to elect the speaker. That’s not supposed to happen in the State House or at a the highest party committee meeting either. However, we all know that this is a test of loyalty for the MPs. The NRM MPs who has had training at Kyankwanzi is supposed to show their character now and what they learned. That is to loyal to the cause and follow the NRM Way. This means the decisions put forward by the NRM CEC is final. Even if the stipulations of law and parliamentary procedure doesn’t have anything about minutes or meeting outside the chambers of the national assembly.

Still, here we are and we know the drill. Kadaga can cry rivers and run as independent. However, we know perfectly well that these MPs are subjects for their President and needs to follow his direction. If not they will suffer and be punished like no tomorrow. That’s why the game is set and it’s rigged in favour of the people who are anointed by the “high above”.

What is funny is that Kadaga knows this and have been breathing in this system for years. She’s not new to this and she seen it all. The fallouts, the break-up’s and the make-ups. She has seen how Mbabazi, Tumukunde and Bukenya have all had their turns. Kadaga knows this and accepted this.

Nevertheless, it is like its fine while your singing praises and eating. It is now evident that her meal-ticket is over and someone else’s turn. That hurts her pride and her stomach. She’s afraid of getting hungry and goes into battle mode. Even if that is a failure from the start.

Kadaga has battled the opposition. She has been a loyal soldier and one the bidding of the President. Severed him diligently and delivered what he asked. Nevertheless, it is never enough and he got priorities. The President have to trade-off political pieces to get the puzzle together. That’s why she is sacrificed for this.

Though we know and she knows there is silver-lining. At the end of the day. If she had taken it and swallowed her pride. The President and the NRM would have given her another office with perks and allowances. Kadaga wouldn’t have be the speaker, but be at service with a fancy title.

Now she sings the songs of defiance. That’s a game she is bound to fail. Especially, when the stacks are all against her. This is only a play for pity and there is little to nothing to gain. Only more misery. It is like she’s forgetful and thinks she’s above it all.

Sorry madam, but your not. You are just another pawn and a useful idiot for his highness. He had the use of you and if you played your cards right. He would have offered you another role later on. However, now that you get into combat mode. He will make you suffer and you’ll regret ever participating in his games. Because now for the first time, you’ll get to see the dark-side of his reign. Opinion: Muntu and Tumukundu, what’s your next move?

This 14^th January 2021 must have been devastating for the bush-war legends and long serving individuals of Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu and Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde. Muntu had created his “New Formation” aka Alliance for National Transformation (ANT). The grand builder of parties and such. While Tumukunde just made himself a sole independent candidate under the “A Renewed Uganda” which also failed to achieve anything.

Both Muntu and Tumukunde did even worse than Amama Mbabazi in the 2016 elections combined. At least the Go Forward and The Democratic Alliance (TDA) got some MPs into the 10^th Parliament. That is a proof some skills and a bigger message than themselves.

Muntu has been all “Country before Self” and been the silent burner. Right now the charcoal isn’t even sizzling anymore. It is like the elites and the moderates are totally ditched. They are all swirling around and headless. Muntu should have upper-echeloned Norbert Mao and made strides. However, that is all in the wind.

It is like these two was unfortunate to run against Bobi Wine and the Patrick Oboi Amuriat. They were not able to run against bulletproof vests and barefoot villager. No, these two was running a mediocre campaign and they ran into very little trouble. The state didn’t block them much or even challenge the authorities. No, these was gentle giants who was more fluffy than teddy-bears.

That is maybe why people rebuked them and didn’t by into their campaigns. Muntu had more for him. Still, his motivation and slow-building paradigm is non-satisfactory for plenty. Since with his method it would take forever to get a peaceful transition. Secondly, nobody fears a diplomatic and a pragmatic fella like Muntu. No, his just getting credit where its due and his tab wasn’t that big in the first place, apparently.

Tumukunde only ran for now. It seems like an enterprise to get headlines and hope for a new appointment post elections. It is not like he undermined or even tried to challenge Museveni. Yes, he was blocked in a few districts. However, not like the Police Force did arrest him or his team. No, he got scotched free… and they knew he was a useful pawn. That is why the state didn’t touch him.

I wonder. Will Muntu continue in the same manner. When he see how other performs and make a difference. Will he still be the soft-spoken man? Or will he re-think strategy and make himself relevant?

I doubt the man will do so. Because if he does. He will start on the path of Defiance and such. Which he has distanced himself from for years. Muntu will most likely be more on NBS Frontline and become another Mao in the public spotlight. Nevertheless, his party will be more a political gig until the next election. Since, unless he changes ways he will not gain the traction or be viable. It is just another moderate non-starter and cannot offer a possible change. Unless, you give him two more decades and hope by then Museveni have stopped breathing.

Tumukunde on the other hand. The Diet-Mbabazi will try to return into the NRM fold. Tumukunde wants a plumb-job. He wants to be a ambassador or getting into the NRM CEC. He wants to return like Bukenya did after 2016. That is what he wants and that is his job ahead. Not like Tumukunde wants to create something in the wilderness. No, he wants the envelopes and titles. That is what he wants.

Opinion: New accreditation scheme from the Media Council made to silence media ahead of the polls

Today on the 31^st December 2020 is the final day of reckoning in the sense that Uganda Media Council is giving out accreditations to journalists who are supposed to follow the final stretch of the polls. These are people who are already hired and working as journalists. Still, some will be blocked by this technicality.

Like Devosh Matovu of Track UG Channel on Youtube, Rock TV Uganda and Devosh Olwokya Youtube have been denied accreditation this time around.

Also Solomon Kaweesa a journalist working at NTV Uganda has also gotten denied.

These are just two who has gone out publicly with the news that they have lost it. For one reason or another. However, expect more. This might happen to all the outlets the Uganda Communication Commission wrote to Google and Youtube about as well. Ghetto TV and other outlets who are favourable of the opposition will lose their accreditation ahead of the polls. Don’t be shocked if that happens…

That is why the state does it two weeks ahead of the polls. It is a pure bitch move of the state. To take down the ones reporting in favour of the opposition. The Media Council and UCC are working in tandem. These government entities are all favourable for the President and his reign. That is why the ones opposing the state is directly targeted.

It will happen to more and these two is only the beginning. The journalists have to stop following the President and his state in the coming days. They have to defy the pressers and whatnot. If they want to be taken serious. As they are direct targets for updating on what’s happening. Something the state clearly don’t want to happen at this time. As they know their vicious ways. Peace.

Bavicha – Chadema Youth Council: Statement on Uganda Election Campaign (31.12.2020)

Opinion: This election is just depressing…

There is no hope.

There is no shadow of a doubt.

There is no signs of free and fair elections in sight. Not even free and fair abilities to campaign or even try to operate during the “Elections Road Map”.

The authorities, the state and all its weaponry is forcing the opposition to cease operations. People are dying by association. People are arrested for being participants in the campaigns and citizens are injured for passing by convoys. There is no good news and only depressing news.

The President can walk around and have campaign ceremonies everywhere. Opening up ghost-projects, re-issuing old projects and looking grand at actually doing his supposed job of 35 years. While not spelling out the funding or who is actually paying the prices for the infrastructure or basic investments. His awaiting glory for posing at factories, road-projects and planned government buildings. Like that is big-whoop.

While his opposition is tear-gassed, injured and detained. While the Police Force is blocking and shedding no tears ambushing and destroying the activities of the opposition. Nothing is fair here. As the airwaves are filled with new speeches and promised of the President nearly every single night. Where his also forcefully saying he will destroy or deploy enough law enforcement to crush anyone in his path.

That is why everything is depressing. It is disappointing. If the Commonwealth, IGAD or EAC signs this one off in the Election Monitoring Mission (EOM) or any other sort of organization. We know it is a lie.

This isn’t an election with promise. It is only an election with the prospects of pre-ticked ballots and rigged affairs to ensure the longevity of the NRM. The rest is just playing for keeps and securing their relevance. These are toys for the authorities to play around with. To fatigue and possibly weaken as much as possible. No care in the world for justice, freedom or liberty for the people opposing the current regime. No these folks got to suffer, one way or another.

That is is why January 14^th 2021 is already written in stones. The sign of the sky and position of the stars is already aligned with the coming results. The dawn of a new day is yet to be determined, but the destination is for the incumbent and forever Mr. Sunday.

There is no signs of change, hope or even daring possibility of sudden twist. Unless, there is a certain spark and flair that the state cannot control. Until now, the army, law enforcement and anyone in power will feel safe. They are not fearing the opposition or their supporters. They think they can contain it. They think they are gullible and able to silence them like in the past.

Time will tell, but I am less hopeful. There been to many deaths, to many abducted and to many detained for this election. It is no middle-ground or possible good return on the investment. Only more suffering and hardships. While the same man lives to hold office.

2021 elections is only days away, but it will feel like forever. The ambitions of others will be dismissed and destroyed. That is just the mere reality. The armed forces and state will secure that by any means. Treason charges or whatnot will all appear and the state will arrest anyone who dares to oppose. This is how it seems these days.

That is why its depressing. There is no hope or possible outcome, which seems redeeming for the Republic. The state is not showing any signs of positive actions. Only more pain and suffering. Peace.

Opinion: When Museveni stops, everyone else has to stop…

“The EC has suspended campaign meetings in districts/cities categorised by Ministry of Health as having high spread of Covid19. From 26/12/20, no campaign meetings will be held in Mbarara, Kabarole, Luwero, Kasese, Masaka, Wakiso, Kabarole, Jinja, Kalungu, Kazo, Kampala & Tororo” (Paul Bukenya, 26.12.2020).

There is now reports that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is scheduled to finalize his ending of his campaign on the 30^th December 2020 ahead of the January 14^th 2021 Presidential Elections. It is therefore fitting that Electoral Commission cancel the abilities for all other candidates to campaign in several of opposition strongholds.

This is just areas where the President knows he lacks support and therefore, the opposition cannot campaign there. Even if the Electoral Commission lacks the mandate to do this. They haven’t issued “State of Emergency” neither has the President. The Parliament haven’t accepted it or even looked over the mandate to do so.

That they are doing this today 19 days ahead of the polls is really irregular and wrecking havoc. The President doesn’t care. He will bag this election with a rigged election and only going through the motions.

This here is really showing Kampala and Wakiso disregard. Just like the Electoral Commission and authorities did in the 2016 General Elections. They are continuing to do this and show repellent actions towards the citizens there. As they are undermined yet again. We are supposed to forget the vote delay and the postponement of polls in 2016?

Yes, the President and the Electoral Commission did that last time around. Yet, again in this election cycle they are doing things earlier. Just like they arrested Bobi Wine ahead of the polls already. Instead of house-arresting him to oblivion after the polls and not allowing him to vote. Just like they did to Besigye last time around.

This here is deliberately issuing and blocking the opposition from campaigning. Using COVID-19 or the Coronavirus as an excuse. This is all politicking and doing this stop the opposition. This is even breaching the Presidential Elections Act of 2000, which states:

“21. Protection and immunity of candidates.

During the campaign period, every public officer and public authority and public institution shall give equal treatment to all candidates and their agents” (Presidential Act of 2000).

Not that the campaign period have given the opposition candidates the equal opportunity or the authorities have been fair during the campaign period. No, they hare been partisan and been blocking the opposition.

This is yet another move from the authorities to be unfair ahead of the polls. That its done in opposition strongholds isn’t surprising either. Just shows the state of affairs. The state and the President are just securing their bag, instead of the future.

President Museveni doesn’t care if the law enforcement is unfair and not giving equal opportunities to the opposition. That isn’t shocking… but just the mere reality. All the acts done by the authorities should be enough to challenge these elections in the courts. Though don’t expect favourable judgements, as these folks are appointed by the President and they are their to validate his reign. Peace.

Opinion: Tumukunde proving his entitlement with his dismissal of Bobi Wine

“Being a president is a challenging task which calls for advanced experience which the NUP leader does not have” – Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde in Bubulo East, Namisindwa district on the 15^th December 2020.

From a man that has failed in several position in government. The high and mighty, the man who thinks his ego and his entitlement is sky-rocketing. It is like these NRA historicals and NRM stalwarts thinks only the ones going in the school of Museveni have the edge or ability to take over. Because they have sit around the round-table or taken out the sword of the stone. So, these folks have followed the personal cult of Mr. 1986.

It is like these NRA and NRM big-men thinks they have the secret codes to the treasure chest and can only open it up. Not like anyone else can ever succeed the President. Tumukunde is mocking Bobi wine, as he thinks you need a certain skill and entail on thing. Heck, if this is like that. Why haven’t anyone in the ranks of NRM succeeded Museveni?

Well, he doesn’t think anyone of you are good enough or popular enough. It is a reason why Bobi Wine is mentioned. They use his profession … and his past. Not like the same folks saying this hasn’t skeleton in the closet and proven failures. Like Tumukunde himself. It is a reason why he gotten sacked and axed by the President. However, he still dismiss someone else.

It is like these guys needs a special training. It is not supposed to be institutions, laws and a constitution that the President have to uphold. That he will have advisors and have people around making him better. Not like he will rule supreme alone. That is if he cares about governance and service delivery. As it shouldn’t be a one man circus, but a government governing. This is if the incoming President.

However, that is not something Tumukunde thinks off or considers himself. Because, everyone is on an island running the state. A President is supposed to be the “Fountain of Honour” and “His Excellency” without any safeguards or oversight over. This is what the NRM is used too and that is why the President at this point is untouchable.

Tumukunde is mocking the wrong man and showing ignorance. That is not new. That is why his bitching about the state crashing his rallies and blocking him from campaigning. The man who took a chopper and crashed Mbabazi at one point. This man is a token loyal NRM cadre. He will be that, because he hopes for a plum-job when this is over. That is why he says this. To prove to his master that his still one his guys.

Tumukunde is showing his loyalty. As he see no prospect of a Bobi Wine presidency. However, Tumukunde would have most likely said the same about anyone else. Initially stating that Museveni is the only man. Therefore, just showing his a pawn in the game of the Entebbe State House. Peace.
