The dead silence: DCI summons Ssegirinya and Sssewanyana MP for the Greater Masaka murders [a fiasco finds two fall men]

The murders of Greater Masaka area have gone on for over a month. The state and authorities has issued their stances. The Uganda Police Force and even the army have been deployed. They have suddenly been out and guarded parts of the region. However, there haven’t any official statement or proof of finding evidence or the culprits of all the murders in the Greater Masaka Area.

Now it’s all official, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have summoned two National Unity Platform (NUP) MPs. These are the high profiled individuals of Kawempe North MP Mohammad Ssegirinya and Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana. It is striking that it’s them and just shows what the state does.

The MPs have to both appear at Masaka Police Station on Monday 6th September 2021, as the DCI is investigating the murders in Greater Masaka during August 2021. So, this is the state pinning popular and dissenting MPs. These are not involved or implicated in any way or fashion in the murders of Greater Masaka. However, that is perfect sort of way of maliciously finding means to charge and sentence them.

This is the Police Force trying to frame these two MPs for the murders. They are trying to make these as masterminds. What is striking about Mr. Updates is that he was in the Netherlands working for his constituency while they summoned him. That shows how stupid the whole thing. It just shows what the state is willing to do.

We know this is political prosecution and not actually finding the killers or gangs with machetes going on a rampage in Greater Masaka region. No, they are just making a mockery of the law and trying to implicate some opposition leaders. There is nothing else to this and it’s not even funny. It just shows how naked the system is.

As their “investigation” goes suddenly to two Kampala NUP MPs. This is just hogwash and rubbish. Everyone know this and they are just trying to find someone to pin it on. These are not criminal masterminds, but Kampala legislators. They are not hoodlums or gangsters. No, they are just vocal dissidents of the regime and this regime is now haunting them for no apparent reason.

Instead of actually going after the ones that is killing, the groups with machete and finding the killers. They are targeting innocent civilians and MPs who has nothing to do with it. That says a lot about the waste of resources and use of police officers in this investigation. They could have tried find and look after the evidence. However, that is out of the picture and they rather just make it a farce.

The DCI isn’t serious with this. They are used as a political weapon to destroy and find means of silencing the opposition. The authorities are using the murders now to implicate dissidents. While they should go after killers and the ones who issued the orders. That they are not doing, which just happens to be their original job. This is their mandate, but they prefers being a tool for oppression. Peace.

Spygate: CMI “arrested” Victoria University Vice Chancellor Dr. Muganga

Today, there was leaked video clips of Dr. Lawerence Muganga of a violent arrest of the Vice Chancellor of Victoria University. The “Panda Gari’s” or “drones” usually tend to come in plain-clothes and do it “discreetly”. However, in today’s instance it went viral and was all over the web.

The authorities claims this was a joint-operation to apprehend a foreign spy. There are claims that the VC have had close ties to Rwandan President Paul Kagame. That his education at Makerere University was sponsored directly by him. It is reported that he worked in the Presidential Office of Rwanda as Researcher together with David Himbara. In addition that he got the current job through Andrew Mwenda who has also been funded directly by Kigali in the past. Also, unverified reports that he used a Rwandan passport whenever he travelled.

However, all of that stated above isn’t written in stone, but it is a clear intent when this sort of play is happening. The V.C. have been a visible character and been even on NBS Television plenty of times. It is not like he has lived a life in hiding or tried to be Clark Kent. No, parts of his life has been on all public display and it’s weird that his spying too.

You can wonder what sort of intelligence this man was supposed to get. Was it supposed to get minutes and orders from the Ministry of Education and the prayers of Mama Janet? I wonder what this sort of fella would help Kigali with?

If he was a foreign operative and actually worked with espionage unless the authorities of Chieftain of Military Intelligence (CMI) or Internal Security Organization (ISO) have collect something we don’t know. Because, the VC had to do some real James Bond or Jason Bourne. God knows… what he did or didn’t do.

However, the way they manhandled him on public display and directly kidnapped him. Yes, they have hours later said he was arrested. Nevertheless, the citizen wasn’t warranted or informed of the pending charges. Well, it if it a matter of espionage and national security. We understand that they kept it secret.

Still, the authorities have arrested political operatives, activists and leaders in the same manner over the last few years. So, it is not like this is a new practice. The “Panda Gari’s” is a thing and surely like the ungazetted safe-houses across the republic as well. It is just common means to an end for the ones in-power at the marvellous times we are currently living in.

The VC might be an spy and might just be a foreigner working illegally in Uganda. If not.. .for a man living so long in Uganda. It seems weird that a public figure and of an educational institution have been able to keep all this under wraps.

That’s why I wonder how this continue. Will he be deported and expelled? Will Victoria University have to hire someone else?

If not this is a real stupid act. The state should explain how a VC in the open can be a hidden spy. That’s what is weird to me here. If its an “illegal alien” case… that makes more sense than he has done lip-service to Kagame on the regular. When Kagame have spent fortunes on Pegasus and listen through “the wire”. Therefore, an operative is only useful if you hope he will rise to the upper echelon to suddenly get into “confidential” documents. However, I doubt that will ever happen at Victoria at this point.

That’s why this seems like a weird situation and I wonder how this will unfold. Nevertheless, this will not make sense to me. Unless, someone has a notes, reports and shows the secret life of the VC. Where his capable of wiring, wire-tapping and getting intelligence from the Ugandan government through this office. I really want to see that and what sort of “valuable” cables he would send to Kigali.

I’m looking forward to read that and while I wait. I might watch another spy-movie on Netflix. Peace.

The dead silence: The murder sprees of Greater Masaka Region

Fear has increased in Masaka region after the panga-wielding assailants killed another man in Sembabule district. His death brings the number of murder victims to 18 in Greater Masaka Region in one month” (Urban Television, 27.08.2021).

At this current time and age it is not like the authorities or the government has the trust of the Republic. To the contrary they despise and distrust them. The Uganda Police Force and all other state organized security organization can be put into question. As their main interests isn’t securing the general public’s safety, but keeping the system and regime alive.

That’s why so many murder cases are cold. There are so many who is supposed to be resolved and answered. However, they are all left in a office and forgotten in a folder there. The police isn’t investigating or finding the needed evidence to solve the cases. No, these murders and killings are happening with no consequences.

This has happened over the years. There been both high ranking officials and known leaders who has been killed. When these are not solved or answered for. Then what the ordinary or innocent civilians dying as well this way? Well, they are just collected as numbers and forgotten eventually. As there is one outrage to another outrage. It is from one scandal to another.

One month it is boxers and another Muslim clerics. Right now its people living in the Greater Masaka region. Before it was woman who was kidnapped and killed in Entebbe town. In between that the ones associated with National Unity Platform (NUP) and People Power Movement was targeted. Just like the ones who was part of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) was taken in and extra judicially killed too. Therefore, this isn’t new…

What is happening in the Greater Masaka Region is tragic. That 20 lives has been taken within a month. We cannot expect these to be solved or the families knowing who killed their family member. That is too much to ask. When MPs and High Ranking Officials are dead with no trace too. If the gangs or on motorcycles or using machetes. It doesn’t matter. They are allowed to roam around and do their bidding.

These sorts of gangs has been allowed to this before without any retaliation. There been blazing words and promises. However, they have been allowed to go to the next target and promised to be silent for a hot minute. Because, the outrage and the fear has to die down. Before they find the next victim and kills more. That is how it looks and these folks never serve time or is charged in the courts.

They can go around and make people suffer. If they we’re part of BodaBoda2010 or the Flying Squad. If these are LDUs or Crime Preventers in the past. God knows… but what we do know is that they are allowed and they can kill. They are assassins and murdering civilians without any consequences.

That’s why suddenly like the murders was happening in the Greater Masaka Region. These will stop as well. Just like they stopped over night targeting Muslim clerics and Woman in Entebbe. The same will happen in Masaka. As the group will leave and their job was done.

The same gentlemen who killed will be able to find work and operate elsewhere. These will find another safe-haven and a den of thieves to enjoy their spoils. While they are awaiting orders of more executions and murders. That is how these things goes and it seems to be legit for them. They know the drill and await their turn.

It is tragic and sinister… but that is how it seems and it’s not looking good. The murders after curfew seems to continue. Lives is at stake and these are untouchable assassins. Peace.

Opinion: Oulanyah forgot the role of the opposition

Honourable Members, let’s keep our eyes on the ball. The ball is this country and its people. The ball is not the regime. A focus on the regime is a narrow and a wrong focus. Put your focus and interests on the people who elected you to Parliament rather than on trivial issues like regime change” – Speaker Jacob Oulanyah (27.08.2021).

It is easy being a token soldier, being a loyal cadre and running up the ranks in the established system underneath the high above. That’s why you don’t have to be bright or smart. You just have to show-up and follow the commands. The orders are straight, unforgiving and you just have to enact it. That’s Oulanyah has risen to prominence and gotten to this stage. Not because his a wise-guy, street-smart or has any worthwhile skills. No, his just a pawn and a useful loyalist for now.

Speak Oulanyah should know all that, but he rather speak of hubris to the opposition. Mock them even and play around like it was a fair competition in the recent election. When everyone know the game was rigged. The whole system was controlled and there was not other objective. Than the Movement and the President to get the majority. Either by the hook or by the crook. The winner took it all and left breadcrumbs to the dissidents. This election was rigged and done systematically. So, Oulanyah should know this when he addresses people, but it seems like he doesn’t know that.

That’s why it’s striking when he says the focus isn’t on the regime. Like the Opposition isn’t there to keep the state alert and question their moves. That is what they are doing for the betterment of the republic. The opposition is there to check and balance. Call out the Movement for their scheming ways, injustice and impunity. They are supposed to call the NRM out for their mischief and grand corruption scandals. They are there to be thorns and spiteful challenges in the public. That’s to show what the government and the Movement should be doing, which it doesn’t… not just be another group of “yes-men” and “praise the lord” anytime the President kisses someone’s asses. That is for the internal Central Executive Committee of the NRM to do by itself.

The speaker further insults our intelligence that we shouldn’t focus or try to think of a peaceful transition. It is only necessary and needed to focus on the future. A future without Museveni and the NRM at the helm. When someone else is the President and His Excellency. That time will come eventually, either if you like it or not. The NRM has already reigned for over 3 decades and this era will end at one point or another.

That’s why the opposition should prepare and plan for a possible takeover. The NRM and Museveni cannot contain that and the will of the people forever. They cannot trick and lie indefinitely. At one point, the last straw and final nail in coffin is put. The treasure-chest is empty and the soldiers are starving. Everything that keeps this regime is gone, as the bank-accounts are empty and donors are not serving aid. There is no more schemes to get-rich-quick or fix some more bottlenecks. No, all of that will go south and there will be no redemption.

That’s why Oulanyah wants this era to last forever. He has the power and the station. The Speaker doesn’t want to loose it. Now that he got it and with someone else in power. He wouldn’t be as useful or have any value to them. He would just be a loyal cadre to godforsaken cause, which should have buried a long time ago. However, it has been persistent and never ending. That’s why we are here in the first place.

Oulanyah can call it trivial to ask for regime change. However, if it was so… why was newspapers closed and ceased over “Project Muhoozi” and why is it dangerous to utter out words of Post-Museveni? Why is it bad to have ambition and seek the place of H.E.? If it is trivial?

Also, to end this on a high note. Why was it needed to change the Constitution twice for one to rule? Why did the Parliament need to first abolish term limits before later stage abolish the age limit? If it is trivial. Shouldn’t the law or the constitution been intact?

That’s what bugging me… when men of his rank and stature calls it trivial. He should look into himself and his own role in all of that. The Movement has made this bed and they got to sleep in it. However, the opposition is within rights and should do their bidding. The opposition needs to keep account and question the NRM. The opposition needs to plan for a peaceful transition and work to topple this regime. That is if they are an honest opposition and wanting to end the dictatorship.

Oulanyah doesn’t want to hear any of that. That’s to be expected, because the end of the tyranny and regime would mean the end of his meal-ticket. The Speaker cannot risk that and rather want a mediocre and lacking opposition. Which he don’t have to fear or have issues with. This is why he speaks like this. However, the opposition has to enforce and be on the barricades to make life a living hell for the Speaker and his tribe. That is their duty and their role as opposition.

Hope they will act upon this and show their character in the 11th Parliament. Time will tell, but Oulanyah hope he can get a forgetful group of MPs and get an easy ride in office. Peace.

Opinion: There is no reason to re-elect Odonga Otto

Just let me say this about tearing papers in Parliament. I have no regrets whatsoever for doing what I did. The only regrets I have in relation to the event of tearing or destroying papers in Parliament is that I should have eaten those torn papers, If I had a second chance, I would have eaten and swallowed them so that it goes into the Guinness book of Records. I am a no nonsense person. I did that very deliberately and I have no regrets”Odonga Otto MP (August 2013).

There should be more to say about Odonga Otto. The man who has been a Member of Parliament for over 2 decades. He has served in the Aruu County for 20 years and lost in 2021. A man of town should have more to show for himself. However, there is little to none and that’s just tragic.

It is not like your thinking of a brilliant, smart or hard-working legislator when you think of the likes of Odonga Otto. No, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) leaning politician instead joined the political organizations, the Uganda Economic Party (UEP) ahead of the 2021 elections.

I am sure he made better scores of his pool games than his actual work at the Parliament. As over the years… I cannot remember him doing anything significant. Yes, he has been arrested several of times. Like he was arrested for participating in demonstrations against the land grab in Amuru district and Apaa village. So, it is not like he haven’t had his issues and that because he has taken a stance against the regime. However, there still haven’t been ever whining MP.

That’s why the By-Election of Aruu County should be about other candidates and not Odonga Otto. This OO has had his time and he wasted it. Not that I want a Movement MP from the County, but this man will not do any favours. It will be a lot of headlines and noise. However, nothing substantial has been served and neither any legislation worth mentioning.

In 2020 when he left the FDC he said this: “Many people have not yet reached the level where they see Opposition as those that check the ruling government when it is not doing enough for the people. My being in FDC was blocking me from many opportunities” (Odonga, August 2020).

Clearly, him leaving the FDC didn’t help his campaign or his ability to get into the Parliament. As a man who had been a legislator for 20 years. He should have the support and the love of his county. However, the MP is clearly out of his league and in an up-coming by-election. Not expect him to win or be a viable candidate. He has already lost earlier in this year. So, expect him to loose again.

The Aruu County should get rid of him. His all talk and no action. Only for the publicity and be like a commoner, but he isn’t delivering anything. Why have a man like this in your ranks? Why have a man like this to represent you? When you can have someone who actually cares and possibly would serve the county. That would try to legislate or even produce something, which can make a difference.

Odonga Otto isn’t a vibrant or a personality. Neither is he a charismatic leader. No, his just another one and he has shown what he does. Which isn’t much. He has opposed and been dissenting. As an MP has been vocal and direct, arrested and detained. However, he has not tried or used his terms in office to build anything.

That’s why he should reside to play pool and act like commoner on these here streets. His not bound to return. Unless, people vote him on a familiar name and hope he will change after losing earlier this year. That isn’t a viable idea and is flawed from the get-go.

This man has had his time and he spoiled it. Why give him another chance? So he can waste more time and money? Isn’t it better to see if some new-blood and a new character maybe amount to something? You have nothing to loose. Because, this gig is up. Peace.

Pastor “Mama” Janet Returns: The Sermon of “Blessings”

“Yes, it is a brand new week! May the Good Lord shine His face upon all of you and give you Peace” (Janet Museveni, 23.08.2021).

This person, Janet Museveni wouldn’t be relevant or have a career like she has, if it wasn’t for being the first lady of the Republic and being appointed by her husband, the President for a Ministry. She is the Minister for Education and Sports but sounds more like a Pentecostal preacher.

In her recent post on “social media dialogue” it is a scripture reading and something that is fitting of a church and not of a minister. This text would have been perfect in the context of a church and a ministry. If she worked for one of them Western inspired Pentecostal churches across Kampala. She would have blended in and they would all answer “Praise God” and “Amen” after dropping this text.

However, for a minister and such… it is just weird and out of place. A minister and a head of state can have whatever religion they see fit as their own. They can believe and be spiritual, live after their own conscience and belief.  Nevertheless, this is just hopeless…

She reiterates: “That tithe then goes to your local church where you worship. The church of God will thrive and prosper, because if all the people who make up your local church, tithe, then the church will not be poor. The church then will take care of all the church leadership and also the orphans in the Parish near the Church. Consequently, the suffering of poverty and hunger will be taken care of and God will get all the honour and glory” (Janet Museveni, 23.08.2021).

This here is sounding like a preacher and a pastor. Pastor “Mama” Janet is at your service and waiting for her sermon. Where she will profoundly speak of giving to the church and how it benefits society. Surely all the pastorpreneurs of the Republic will be feeling Godly at this moment. That the Minister and First Lady speaks of these resounding words. As she speaks so softly and kind about giving 10 percent of your earnings to the local church. They surely hope this blessing will come upon them.

She further states: “Giving to God also includes offering in Church, many people when they go to Church and it is time for offertory, sometimes they walk out or they search in their bags to get the very least money to give to God, as if God is a beggar, instead of realizing that this is an opportunity to offer God something, because God gives you everything you have and could give you a lot more, you refuse to show Him any gratitude and He also lives you alone. So in essence, you close the only door for your blessing” (Janet Museveni, 23.08.2021).

This here would make any pastor and especially prosperity preachers excited. They are just waiting for scriptures and tales like these. They are just saying your wealth and abundantly so, after the amount you gives. This is just the sort of spiritual guidance TV-Pastors are doing and been outbidding each other as well. Pastor Janet is a on a roll here.

She ends with: “Therefore, for now, try Him by starting to tithe from the little you have and you will be surprised to see how what you have can grow and you find all your needs are covered and instead of asking others for help, you try now to be the one to give to others or at least share what you have. You will see the blessings of God multiply as you grow steadily in giving those who have less than you have and also to your place of worship” (Janet Museveni, 23.08.2021).

It is just such a show of the First Lady and Minister. The Preacher and Pastor is going all overboard here. It is not end in sight and whatever ministry she’s part of on the regular must clearly have done wonders. Since she sounds ready for the role of a pastor and a preacher.

Janet should resign from Government, as she is ready to work for the Lord Almighty. She should beg for forgiveness for the all the pain and suffering her partner has done. Janet should ask God for forgiveness for all the money and government funds she has misused and earned fortunes on. The preacher should testify and be vocal, repent her ways and ask God for mercy. Since, she wants to badly to become a saint and a follower of God.

That is what is missing from Pastor Janet, “mama” Janet better be careful. She should repent and atone for her sins. Which she has been conniving and using her titles for her own good. Janet needs to answer for this and so should her husband too. They need to answer for God and beg for mercy. Peace.

Opinion: The FDC is right on the money

“Last week, Mr. Museveni met with NRM MPs at Kololo and asked them to support distribution of one trillion shillings to the population. Cash distribution centres are going to be set up at parish levels. This is what Museveni has termed as Parish Model” (Forum for Democratic Change, 23.08.2021).

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) in their weekly media brief on this very day the 23rd August 2021. The FDC has stated a mere fact, which should be resound wide and clear. The party have understood and is speaking facts, which deserves to be credited. Since, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and all their benefactors will only praise this commitment to the Parish Model of Micro-Finance Programme.

The FDC states this: “Each parish regardless of the population and economic activity will receive equal amount when the promised trillion is provided. For example Kireka in Kira Municipality with 200,000 people will be given Shs 100 million each financial year. According to National Bureau of Statistics, a parish in Uganda is 800 people. The FDC would like to warn NRM MPs and Parliament in general against risking taxpayers’ money again in unplanned ventures. The country has not recovered from Emyoga fraud which Museveni entrusted with his RDCs.  Parliament budgeted for Shs 250 billion for Emyoga and this money cannot be accounted for. Its effect on the population is not there” (Forum for Democratic Change, 23.08.2021).

This here is a very vital information and says it all about the scheme itself. As there is already a lack of accountability for the former or latter, which was the Emyoga. There been plenty of scandals and lack of transparency in the efforts of the state. This is not new or significant in this matter but says a lot about the will to start new projects. Before you have ended or shown any proof of where the other funds went. That just shows how these sorts of enterprises are schemes and not real legit programmes for the people to get help or be entertained at all. Just a matter of fancy accounting and finding measures to get rich behind the scenes.

About Salim they say:

“At Kololo the same Museveni who has been praising Operation Wealth Creation led by his brother Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho, said it has not benefited the population. In fact, if you read Minister Matia Kasaija statement to Parliament delivered in April this year, government wants Operation Wealth Creation phased out.  Kasaija proposed that Shs 200 billion meant for OWC be diverted to finance Emyoga” (Forum for Democratic Change, 23.08.2021).

We know that is something is up here… when the Parliament Report on OWC says the program haven’t delivered or not even up to standard even. The OWC is a sham and a front, making Gen. Salim Selah, the brother of the President wealthy and have his own “detail” within the government and under the office of the Prime Minister (OPM). That is just a mere fact and the FDC doesn’t shun away from that.

It is just striking that more people haven’t questioned this and the use of public funds this way. When there is no proof of the other schemes are working. Just like all these years with all the seemingly similar schemes but it never amounts to anything. Only benefiting a few chosen few and nobody else. That is how it looks like and with the Parish Model the same results will appear with time. This is something I can reassure you and only a little elite will eat of this plate.

That’s why the President promotes it and he know the game. Because, this is a game he has played since the beginning of his reign. Plotting and scheming to get ahead, while hoping that other people are coving the bills. Peace.

Opinion: Three Generals dies mysteriously in one month [Tumusiime, Kuteesa and Lokech]

In general you must either pamper people or destroy them; harm them just a little and they’ll hit back; harm them seriously and they won’t be able to. So if you’re going to do people harm, make sure you needn’t worry about their reaction.”Niccolò Machiavelli, The Prince

In death there is always speculation. Especially, when you are speaking of high ranking officials and the ones that in beyond us ordinary realm of people. That is why the demise of Generals and Army Commanders is unique. They have a aura and a way of living, which we common folk could dream of. They are warriors, loyal soldiers and men who has fought for a higher cause than themselves.

That’s why there been mysterious deaths before and certainly in the manner, which they have happened. In the Republic of Uganda and under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, high ranking generals have died of unnatural causes before. They have just suddenly died and nobody has ever recovered or reported properly on their death. Therefore, it is unique and special when three generals just happens to die in the same month.

The list itself is brutal and just shows the mere days between them:

1st: Maj. Gen. Stephen Tumusiime Rwabantu died on the 8th August 2021

2nd: Lt Gen Pecos Kuteesa died on the 17th August 2021

3rd: Maj Gen Paul Lokech died on the 21st August 2021

When such fall of men happens, it is natural that speculations appear. Especially, when they happen so short time apart. Maj. Gen. Stephen T. Rwabantu is said to have died of throat cancer. While Lt. Gen. Kuteesa illness was liver damage after excessive drinking over the years. The most recent Maj. Gen. Lokech is reported to have died of blood-clot.

What is striking here… is how the reported illnesses has been kept away from the public and it’s been mysterious. The generals has just fallen and died, one by one. Like in Lt. Gen. Kuteesa’s case, there was even talks of operations in India and the UPDF stated that itself. However, all news of his final days was in Nairobi. That’s how you ensure questions and doesn’t make it better. In combination, that one report is liver damage over drinking and others that the COVID-19 vaccine was the nail in the coffin. When such statements comes out. You beg to wonder, how come now?

All these men have been loyal to the cause and served for years. That is why their demise, so suddenly makes you wonder. Just like other has fallen on trips abroad for the state. They just fell and for various of reasons. While the general public never got to know the real reason for their demise. Meanwhile, their stories and their internal knowledge was kept to the grave. Only a little heroics and tales of grandeur was spoiled to public.

Just like these three gentlemen, the generals who are suddenly gone. They have all participated and been part of the inner-circle. One by one, they have fallen and died. Within three weeks and the reports are scattering. That’s why some even claim all three was poisoned. Many of men and high ranking officials in the Republic has fallen for the same before. That wouldn’t be revolutionary or the first time. With that in mind and without proper evidence, the speculations will just run rampant as well. It doesn’t help that token “misleader’s” and “spin-doctors” comes out quickly with some reports and later that is changed. This is just telling that the authorities and the regime don’t want the truth out. Certainly, the authorities and government don’t want the public to know about poisoning attempts or murder of own high level cadres. They are heroes and not villains.

What is striking, as we were not there and that’s why speculations run rampant. What we do know is what the government and the inner-circle has done before. That’s why we easily question it. Just like there been attempts of murder and assassinations, which shows the means to an end. Where even the anointed can be silenced and never heard from again.

So, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) have had this issue since it’s inception and this is why people wonders why this happens. It is really striking when it’s three generals in the same month. People will start to speculate and wonder. Like there is even rumours of the connection to the “Project Muhoozi” and that these gentlemen wouldn’t entertain the “monarchy” ticket of Lt. Gen. Kainerubaga Muhoozi. That’s not what they fought for or was loyal too. This is why the regime had to silence them and make them dead “heroes” instead of defiant old men.

At this point we cannot know and we don’t have the verified information. Neither will the ones in the inner-circle tell the truth or have the heart to do so. They want the word to believe their stories and continue like nothing happened. Just like they have done in the past await the next scandal or crisis to get people to forget about these deaths. Because, that what has happened to others and we are just supposed to “move-on”. Peace.

Opinion: The NRM Shields their own [and the COVID-19 Lockdown scandal of 2020 is now water under the bridge]

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) is very forgiving to their own crooks. The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) and Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda office was in-charge of the procurement for relief food during the first lockdown in 2020 for the urban areas.

What is striking is that the officials secured deals, which ended in a loss of USD $528,000 in inflated in the prices of food. The ones implicated and arrested for these schemes was the Permanent Secretary Christine Guwatudde Kintu, accounting officer Joel Wanjala, assistant procurement commissioner Fred Lutimba and Martin Owor, the head of COVID-19 relief management.

Today, the Director of Public Prosecution has discontinued the case against them. Even when it is evident they acted fraudulent and massively public wastage of funds. The OPM Food Relief last year was a giant scheme of embezzlement and misuse of office. That’s why there was no tenders and no procurement protocol for in the food relief. It was all brotherly conduct and already using connects. That was the initial drive and this is why they inflated the prices on it.

This is why we know the state isn’t interested in fighting corruption or graft, when people like these are off the hook. The state is not going against the OPM and the ones involved. In the end… and they are able to walk.

That is the story here… and that should what the world needs to know. This isn’t the first or the last time people who is connected gets away from scandals. There been several who been in office and high ranking officials who can steal, embezzle and grand corruption. Still, they can walk to the Parliament, State House and now in the OPM without any consequences. The ones charged and detained on corruption is small-fishes. That’s why the ones sentenced in the Courts is teachers and headmasters eating of funds for ghost-workers and students.

The DPP is now giving way and letting them off the hook. The NRM has done this to others and this is Modus Operandi (M.O) by now. The President and the ones who is in the inner-circle can get away with murder and we know this. It just happened to be with COVID-19 Funds and Relief Food. The OPM wasn’t long time ago inflate refugee numbers to get more donor funds. Therefore, this is what they do to eat and does it deliberately. Therefore, the OPM needs to scheme to run it’s operation.

This isn’t shocking, but it’s a part of a pattern. Peace.

Opinion: The KY and NUP isn’t the same – Another Museveni lie!

The NRM has never thrown stones. Those who faced our fire were those defending illegitimate interests like dictators and those denying the people free and fair elections like NUP which is an attempt to resurrect Kabaka Yekka or the likes of Amin”Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (14.08.2021).

I just had to dwell into this, as the National Address of 14th August 2021 needs to be debunked for the second time. As there was so many lies and deceptions in that speech. This one got out of bound, but still needs to be addressed. Since the old man with the hat is trying to use the lack of historical context to breach the difference between Kabaka Yekka (“The King Only”) only party, which was a Buganda Kingdom based. While the National Unity Platform party is a national party and has members across the spectrum of the Republic.

The NUP might have a majority of their leaders, MPs and such from the Buganda Kingdom. However, that is only because of the lack of time to register candidates, build party organization and the blockade of organizing political meetings or consultations across the up-country. That’s why the NUP has a bigger structure and party in Greater Kampala and within “Central Region” or Buganda. That is just mere luck and because the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and other parties have another presence in the North, East and the West, than the NUP has at this current moment.

However, that doesn’t make the party an Baganda factor. That is just out of necessity and where they have been able to build their party and generate results. This is not because it is like KY and being for the purpose of supporting only the Buganda kingdom.

Here is the vital information about KY:

The party was formed in Buganda in 1961. Its main objective was the preservation of the institution of Kabakaship and the “independence” of the Kingdom. The Baganda had for a long time respected the throne. Although with the advent of colonialism the symbol of Buganda’s unity had been weakened, the Kabaka still had a big following in the Kingdom. The monarchists feared that in times of political transition, traditional institutions would be destroyed. Therefore, to safeguard the institution in Buganda, a movement had to be formed and that was the Kabaka Yekka(…) “The actual formation of K.Y. was done by merging two organizations — “Banabulezi” [the people of Bulemezi] and the “Abana Ba Abaami” [chiefs’ sons]. The former had been formed after the banning of the Uganda National Movement. Its aim was to inspire the people of Bulemezi with the love of Kabaka and their country [Buganda]. The latter was formed basically to foster the position of the chiefs and their sons in Buganda. The two organizations could easily merge because they had similar objectives — both could achieve their aims by safeguarding the Kabakaship. Hence, it was thought that the name “Kabaka Yekka” would create a sense of unity and common purpose in Buganda. The objectives and composition of the party were stumbling blocks on the road to national unity(Ogena Otunnu – ‘THE HISTORY OF POLITICAL CRISIS IN UGANDA: THE LEGACY FACING THE MUSEVENI REGIME 1986 TO THE PRESENT P:18-20, 26.07.1989).

So, when you read that in comparison to the NUP Manifesto, the ideals are in stark contrast and shows the mentality difference between the parties, which is vastly different than what Museveni claims in his address. That is the clear indication of his lie.

National Unity Platform Manifesto 2021:

The National Unity Platform grew out of the People Power movement. The movement was formed to spearhead the first ever inclusive, non-violent transition of political power in Uganda. Our vision of Uganda is a dignified people thriving under an inclusive constitutional democracy. We seek a transition from the 35-year long dictatorial regime to a people’s choice government through free and fair elections. We are compelled by Article 1 of the Constitution of Uganda 1995, which grants all power to the people of Uganda. Our aim is to guarantee respect for the constitution. Our accountable leadership has been built from the grassroots to the national level. We shall continue to be strictly governed by the rule of law and universal standards of social justice, in order to ensure individual human dignity, national unity, and true equal opportunity for every Ugandan” (National Unity Platform – ‘Manifesto 2021-26).

We are seeing here it isn’t to resurrect an kingdom or preserve that alone. No, the NUP is for EVERY UGANDAN. That means not only the Buganda, but Bunyoro, Teso, Itesot, Ankole or anyone else. This is the easiest way to debunk this.

The KY was to preserve and pursuit the nationalistic aims of one ethnic group and save that Kingdom. However, the NUP is to fulfil a peaceful transition from a dictatorship. To continue the work of the People Power Movement and build an inclusive democracy. This means, the NUP aims and ambitions are not in accordance with the KY. The KY is a “single” mission party, while the NUP has a broader end-game and a total restructuring of the Republic. That’s why it’s hard to see similarities, but that is only tell sell a deluded story. In such a manner, that he thinks people will not see the difference between the KY and the NUP. Which is no where close.

That is why the President had to shoot and kill in Arua. Because Bobi Wine and NUP is a national party, but they have not the machinery or the ability as the NRM: Just like the UPM didn’t have the ability or structures to compete with ruling party UPC in 1980. That’s the reality here and Museveni should know this, but he rather vilify his enemies. Instead of speaking of the truth and what is the real deal. Peace.
