VP Ssekandi pledged a new ‘National Children’s Authority’ to the Special Children’s Trust today!

ssekandi-21-09

That the honourable Edward Ssekandi surfaced today, which is good thing after the rumours spread by TVO about the plans to get rid of the silent old-man. The loyalist of Museveni who hasen’t uttered a word or had a Speech. Nor any Public-Apparerence worth noticing in a while. Therefore the showing for Pictures and the proof of his wishes to grant the ones with special needs in Uganda. That was a nice gesture towards children with disabilities. Who knew the silent VP could attend a day like this? Here is the report made by the organization itself.

Here is their words on this special day:

“During our Annual Awareness and Fun Day this year we were informed on behalf of the Vice President that a new National Children’s Authority will be established, to be responsible for all issues concerning children, including children with special needs” (…) “This week our Director met with Mr Vice President himself, His Excellency Edward Ssekandi to deliver to him a special gift from SCT, as a thank you for sending a representative to our Awareness Day and to discuss the representation of stakeholders for children with disabilities in the new Children’s Authority. They discussed the challenges faced by Organisations working with children with disabilities due to a lack of implementation of laws and policies concerning such children, such as Inclusive Education” (…) We thank the Vice President for pledging his full support to furthering our cause and promising to take action in helping us to make Uganda better and safer for children with special needs” (Special Children’s Trust, 21.09.2016).

So VP Ssekandi showed up on the day and promised a new government institution that would focus on the laws for children and be broader than the ones currently existing. This can be seen as a bold move, especially talking about Inclusive Education while knowing the First Lady Museveni runs Education now. She must surely either feel a new hectic task ahead or that the VP overstep his bounds. But, in politics it is easy to promise, much harder to deliver. Though the SCT got a honourable to visit, it doesn’t mean that tomorrow he will enact anything of sorts. He, the VP is the silent force of the Movement and Regime. So when a guy like that suddenly surface. It is time for the VP to act from now on the Promise given to the Citizens and this NGO. Peace.

My letter to Hon. Nsereko on recent outburst on NBS towards the Jobless Brotherhood!

mpigs-uganda

Dear Muhammad Nsereko, whoever you are affiliated with and assemble with; I write to you today. Because of your words that you uttered on NBS TV Uganda yesterday and needs to be put some reflection on. Your wealth and continued terms in the Parliament makes you blind the reality. First your own words, than my take on you Honoarable!

Hon. Muhammad Nsereko on NBS TV Yesterday:

“This is not new in Parliament. These are young men being given ‘something’. My immediate reaction was, ‘ohh, I saw this coming’. Pigs were thrown in front of Prophet Muhammad’s house several times. All this is happening because I didn’t support defiance. Most bloggers writing about me are Besigye apologists. They are just being used by Besigye,” (…) “These people’s next move is ‘occupy Parliament’, I know everything. If the demonstration was about greedy Parliamentarians, wouldn’t it be us? I think not, because we don’t represent that category.”

Yep, you’re a brutal speaker and direct as always. That you are connecting Norman Tumuhimbise and his Jobless Brotherhood with the Forum for Democratic Change former Presidential Candidate Besigye; Mr. Tumuhimbise has been arrested, attacked and gotten abducted for his campaign against the NRM. This is the same as Besigye, which is what they have in common Hon. Nsereko. The reason why you are not in the NRM anymore is both of your own implications and also because you know Kampala is hostile to NRM. Therefore to win your seat your alliance with others to get your place in the National Assembly; so you should be a bit more soft-spoken about the people who has opened their arms to you! Looks like to me that you don’t represent Kampala but only yourself and selfish rich interests.

There been reports before you we’re detained in 2012 that you we’re flashing a FDC sign as you reacted to your stances in Parliament and becoming parts of rebellious MPs of the 9th Parliament. Still, that doesn’t sound real. If you don’t believe my sayings, it is something you can look at when there is a report about you in 2013; that says this:

“Politically, Nsereko has been representing NRM in a constituency of Kampala central which has always been very hostile to NRM.  His support base has been made of frustrated Kampala dwellers that are fed up of NRM due to numerous reasons ranging from the challenging economic situations, the high taxes, rent, Jennifer Musisi’s hostile activities of the KCCA’ constant evictions” (…) “Economically speaking; while his accomplices who have been surviving on proceeds from parliament are definitely going to find the economic aspect to find life difficult to cope with, Nsereko is instead likely to enjoy himself. This is because he is known to be very wealthy with financial connections at home and abroad” (…) “Those close to him claim that he is one man who can seal a deal of a million dollar in just two hours. But the NRM might counter this economic advantage by using the money laundering law to stop the foreign dime from flowing to him. And indeed at the height of his disagreement with his party leadership, Nsereko was arrested and detained in crane bank for obtaining huge unexplainable amounts of money” (News.ugo.co.ug, 2013).

So you are one of the men with massive amounts of monies in Crane Bank, maybe you can become their investor? Your connections can really change guards as you have gone from being NRM to become who you are now. That you are hostile to KCCA and Dr. Musisi is not alone, maybe she is stifling your millions and secret agreements that secure your funding and wealth as the connections are used establish yourself.

You had to be kicked out of NRM, still yesterday you are an apologist for the Movement still. Honourable you have just used your place after the ceased trial to cater to opposition while still being loyal to NRM. As I am sure all your rich connections are and still are. Your wealth has to come from the ruling regime and not from dust. With this in mind what you did in 2015 we’re not a surprise:

“Serbian Simo Dubajic has brought his colourful 4-year association with SC Victoria University to an end after sanctioning the sale of the Uganda Premier League club to the Kampala Central Member of Parliament (MP) Muhammad Nsereko in a major takeover (70%)” (…) “MP Nsereko is one of the richest MPs in the country with sources close to youthful legislator intimating to us that Nsereko has got huge investments in the Zambian capital Lusaka and St. Livingstone a suburb in Zambia” (Muneza, 2015).

Now that the foreign wealth in Zambia, owning a Football Club and other unknown wealth as you have already lately showed of your court while going to Parliament; shows how far away from the average man you have become. You’re the NRM Elite, the man who represents the ones who has earned on your allegiance towards the Movement. Therefore your defense of yourself and the acts of greed in Parliament is not shocking.

It would be shocking if you stood by the principals of honesty and accountability. Than you have had to show your wealth in public and not just flaunt it like you do now. Hon. Nsereko you’re a wealthy man in gold and silver, also ambition, but not in respect. You’re tactless and dishonest. You play games for your own gain and not caring about the ones you represent in Kampala.

nsereko-money

Clearly your wealth is your pride, but Hon. Nsereko you might have your wealth and cash-flow more than I can ever dream of. But with that you have to kiss the ring of NRM even when you outside of the Party. You’re a loyal dog to the ‘Old Man with the Hat’ as you know this is the only way to survive the businesses and valuable estates. You can think your Teflon and has the power with your riches. But Hon. Nsereko it is borrowed and when the time is it, it might go into the wind as quickly as your raised it.

That you now trying to connect innocent Norman Tumuhimbise of Jobless Brotherhood with the FDC and Besigye; they are both opposition and work for the same cause getting rid of the draconian regime of Museveni. Still, the reality is that they are only working for the same, but are not run by either or. Hon. Nsereko tries to connect all kind of demonstrations on Besigye and blame him for the difficult political climate. Instead of seeing that people doesn’t’ always work on the same cause together. Even if the NRM has to connect the MPs in USA to a seminar to get them benefitted and bribed in line, as much as the “training” at Kyankwanzi after the election is supposed to do the same. There is supposed to be the same between Tumuhimbise and Besigye. If you can find the missing MoU between FDC and Jobless Brotherhood I wish you the best in your duck-hunt hon. Nsereko!

In 2015 in an interview Mr. Tumuhimbise said this:

“None: One [Mbabazi] whose wife is currently admitted has been part of the past regime and I do not think he can change what was there. The other [Besigye] said he will not come back provided Kiggundu is the Chairman Electoral Commission, he is now back. Surprisingly, If Muntu had gone through, I would be with him running around the whole country, it’s a personal opinion though” (Tukel, 2015).

So Hon. Nsereko before you pick your words knows about the ones you describe, but the wealth has blinded you. The leader of Jobless Brotherhood would have campaigned for Gen. Mugisha Muntu and not even Besigye, the man who apparently using him for his cause. Not like you are being used by the Movement for their cause to look like Opposition. While you in reality are NRM in clothes of opposition just like Hon. Beti Kamya and so many others. Can’t you just talk to Dr. Tanga Odoi and others trade with them like Gen. Otafiire and then you might get a place back again where you rich soul belongs.

Do you know something else that I agrees with Mr. Tumuhimbise said in 2015:

“(Journalist questions him) Rate the current government in one word?

Norman answers: It is taken up by greed!” (Tukel, 2015).

Hon. Nsereko he is speaking about you and your kind who buys football clubs instead of good governance. He describes your disrespectful behaviour and your trading graces to gain popularity. You don’t care about your constituency Hon. Nsereko as you are addressing the Jobless Brotherhood this way. Like Action Aid said in their stats that 62% of all Youth between 20-31 years in Uganda that year in 2015. I am sure honourable that the numbers are most likely the same today. Surely some of the unemployed youth that Tumuhimbise is parts of his demonstrations, as much as there are even more in of them in the Central Kampala.

You are the greedy man that Tumuhimbise is acting upon and that Besigye wants accountability in Parliament and in Government. Something that might look into your portfolio and your connections Honourable Nsereko; that is why you are connected to men you don’t want to disclose and at the same time you want to attack the men who are not like you!

That should you think about if you ever read these humble words I have written to you. Peace.

South Sudan: A Statement from Brig. General Abraham Wani Youone Bondo (15.09.2016)

splm-io-15-09-2016

United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) responds to Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) allegations (18.09.2016)

UN House Juba

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) notes with concern recent accusations made by the SPLA of UNMISS of supposedly fostering criminal activity and harbouring armed elements in the UN protection of civilians (PoC) site in Juba.

The Mission would like to clarify the circumstances surrounding one incident which took place on Friday 16 September. At approximately 6 o’clock in the morning small arms fire could be heard coming from the vicinity of a checkpoint, manned by South Sudan National Police Service (SSNPS), located North West of the protection site. On being informed by the SSNPS that the checkpoint was under attack, UNMISS deployed a Quick Reaction Force to prevent the perpetrators from entering the POC site. The attackers withdrew from the checkpoint and, later in the morning, SPLA forces deployed to secure the area.

In the early hours of the morning on Friday 9 September, a similar incident occurred and again, following notification by the SSNPS, UNMISS responded. On this occasion, medical assistance was rendered to a wounded SSNPS officer.

UNMISS acknowledges and appreciates the professionalism of the SSNPS and SPLA forces who engaged constructively with UNMISS during these recent incidents to ensure security in this area. UNMISS continues to coordinate proactively with those at the checkpoint to deter and prevent any future insecurity.

UNMISS rejects the allegations of impropriety in our operations, and in keeping with the UN mandate on protection of civilians, and the impartial nature of our actions; we would like to report that Thursday afternoon two SPLA soldiers in plain clothes entered POC3, where they were assaulted and held captive overnight. When UNMISS UN police were notified, a formed police unit deployed immediately and conducted a successful rescue operation. The individuals informed UNMISS they had entered into PoC3 at their own free will, and after receiving medical assistance by UNMISS force; the two were handed over to National Authorities.

The mission conducts regular cordon and search operations in all of its PoC sites, in keeping with its arms free policy, and have clear entry and exit procedures. Since the July clashes, search operations have been increased in the Juba PoC site and have yielded positive results.

UNMISS condemns the continuing violence, and calls on all parties to respect the ceasefire agreement, to allow the country to move forward and put personal and political differences aside.

The UN can only work with the cooperation of the Transitional Government to reinforce the protection of civilians.

Opinion: Countering the nonsense of attacking Besigye as there are more dire need reactions from the supporters if they want change!

Besigye Kampala 11.05.2016 P4

The Defiance campaign couldn’t be an easy run; it would be and is a long walk to freedom. There isn’t a short quick and brief change out of thin air. The wish and concern isn’t only on the FDC Presidential Candidate of late Dr. Kizza Besigye. The arrests for Hon. Michael Kabaziguruka of Nakawa and his Court Martial; together with arrest of the ones who dare to protest against the National Resistance Movement in this day and age. Just like the Youth of Democratic Party who demonstrated against the greedy Members of Parliament we’re detained. The oppression of the NRM regime doesn’t go away overnight like morning dew.

For those of you who thought this would be easy. Yes I had hope in February that the FDC and Dr. Kizza Besigye would win, because of the men running he had the best agenda and the needed remedy. The NRM has involved the Central Government in a way where the directions of the fiscal policies and the cash-barred MPs to beg for greed instead of dropping policies and laws that matters. The NRM machine are more caring about skinny jeans, short skirts and porn than having working equipment in the hospitals and steady delivery of needed medicines. This is the proof of the rigid brown-enveloped system blessed by the almighty at the State House.

While that is happening there people with hope and see that the brown-envelopes won’t create any common good, but only for the current elite who eat the spoils of foreign donors and the secretive agreements between government and businesses. Getting mansions and luxurious SUVs before riding to the closest mall where even the Government Spokesperson Ofwono Opondo stole underwear. It’s just how the system is made to blatant regard the men who in all their honour bow their heads to the Mzee on the top. They are allowed to do anything and get away with it. Therefore the ones who counter this paradigm get whipped, detained or even disgraced in public.

FDC Youth 14.03.2016

Still, with this in mind the blames that the current embattled Besigye is at fault. Not because he hasn’t tried and done what he could empower the opposition with vigour to assemble in Power 10 (P10) Structure and other to counter the NRM Poor Youth or any other group that the Government used to silence the FDC. The FDC mobilisers has been detained as common as the roads development has been bribing state officials; it is so common that the news of detaining a FDC Youth or Mobilisers are day-to-day acts of the Police Force. So it is not like Besigye and the FDC haven’t had heavy-water to carry.

The assurance that the Defiance Campaign wasn’t made in fear of repression from the NRM or the Government; should have been well known as the NRM Regime has since it establishment done what it could to harass and disrupt the rallies of Dr. Paul Ssemogerere and so on. The ones forgetting that is currently forgotten the past. I am sure even the current leader of DP Norbert Mao has had issues under the last Campaign Trial in 2011/2012. Norbert Mao we’re even detained during the campaign in this calendar-year because the UPF cannot help themselves to make life hard for real opposition.

So with that knowledge of this and even after the 10th Parliament have started and the Plenary Sessions begun. This is the start of the new breed of MPs, who wish to get more funds and more salaries then the former legislators. They want to be rich quick and get that on the public funds. They don’t have ideas of their obligations to represent their citizens and not eat of their citizens. Even if they just follow what the ‘Old Man with the Hat’ has teaches them as he came with empty pockets to the Parliament and now decades later are richer than god.

Ready to Move with Sevo Music Campaign for 2016 P4

So if the ones caring thought the Defiance Campaign would succeed on its own like a marching band making noise on the gates when it past and everybody enjoying it. You’re wrong because some hates the marching band and other wish they just went down more street. Defiance of Besigye had to get public support and truly be invested in it to get the change happen. The fear of the repression of the regime and their sanctions might be a reason for why it has partly failed for the moment. Because if they wanted they should do more than quickly after thinking of boycotting the “Tubonga Nawe” artists who campaigned for the Cow farmer.

Besigye had #KigwaLeero wishing for a brighter future and make a difference. He asked for a government with accountability and we’re there for the public. Not like the ones that is there now who is there for former rebel who takes the riches for himself and leaves scraps for the elite who is loyal to him.

Defying the regime could not be done by him alone in Kasangati, it could be only be the hardliners who stood by Besigye in his hardships. It has to be made the ones who really want to get rid of the regime of present. It will not be easy and get there easily. Some has spoken of violence and using the tactics of old, like the ones that Mzee used himself to get power. If you do so wouldn’t you be the same as him? If he used guns and guerrilla warfare to get into power and you use the same doesn’t that make you a rebel who dreamed of power and not a true democrat? Even if Ghana’s Jerry Rawlings made it and ushered in a positive political system, that doesn’t necessary work for Besigye.

I doubt that Besigye want to use violence and rebel through the rifles and assassinate his opponents. As he was parts of the NRA and doesn’t want the change to be of the old ways, only through guns and on the battlefield. There is precisely in history that none President or Executive in Uganda has been changed peacefully through the ballot, instead through the bullets, which makes sense at least to those of us who believes in peaceful transitions.

VPN 18.02.2016 P2

That means that this is not alone on Besigye, this is on the supporters and the opposition itself. That means that struggle of the opposition has to defy the current regime. With means that hurt the regime and that discontinue the fiscal funding of government, that counter the legitimacy of the institutions and the opposition has to build strong grass-root movement that has most of the base in the population. So that you have all corners on the knees and weak; so that the actions of government can be countered by people’s sanctioning them. The best acts of the defiance during the Election period were the use of VPN to counter to Social-Media Ban of the Uganda Communication Commission (UCC). So the people have it naturally in them when they feel betrayed and knowledge of ways to stop nonsense from all-controlling government.

It’s that kind of defiance that is needed. That kind of acts that hurts the MTN and the others who practically funds the regime and keeps the taxation without representation going. Besigye can be blamed, but he is the spokesman and the one who is tormented by the regime already. So the man has done and continues to do his part. The people behind have to use their wisdom and ways to destabilize the regime by peaceful means and even risk their freedoms. As so many youths and people associated with FDC has been during the years. Also other political parties have also felt the pain of being opposition. So the ones blaming Besigye has lost the basic component of it all: the key is always the people! They, the people have the fate of the government in their hands; the Government lives either on the trust from the public or of the fear of the people going against it.

The people decide not only through secret ballots, but through their faith and their assessment of the situation of how they believe they should govern. Some might accept the current regime in silence because of the fear and the belief if they go against it they lose it all. But if those all thinks like this than the organizing against the current regime will not become of anything.

Now with this the FDC and Besigye have to show Defiance and be upfront as they have to use their support to weaken the NRM and their henchmen’s. This is not only defying in court and going from kangaroo courts and smiling on NTV. That is to directly counter the regimes acts in Parliament, demonstrate and boycott. Use other ways with even stronger force and more success than Walk to Work. That will not be easy and that can only happen if the momentum and belief together with the peoples. The Peoples or the Citizens can only act when they are sure they will conquer the regime, if not they will demonstrate and lose the little they have. They lose their hawking job and their voice where they were. That is not acceptable.

Kapwocha FDC 080116 P1

What Besigye has to do is not to give in or give up. He is the voice of hope and a brighter new day. But to get the brighter new day for the Ugandan people under a new government who have other belief in institutions and service delivery than the people has to support Besigye and his cause. Not because Besigye is only one who can do this, but because he is the ones who champion it through defiance on his own.

The ones who attacks Besigye for his campaign hasn’t understood it; but is more worrying is that people can only stand behind their voice in the wilderness or leave the belief of regime change. And giving up a 30 year regime and an Executive that has been there since 1986 is hard. Because of the ways the draconian laws and fiscal policies are set-up. That should give reason for the citizens to react with demonstrations and peaceful mobilizations in the ways of the VPN to defy the all-eating NRM and their in-accurate methods of silencing voices which isn’t their own. Peace.

BOU says Uganda’s economy cannot handle interest rate capping (Youtube-Clip)

“Bank of Uganda has assured law makers that the country’s economy remains financial shallow, to accommodate structures such as capping of interest. A dialogue here in Kampala between Members of Parliament, and the financial sector regulator also heard that current loan defaults at 8.3%, makes lending risky. In Kenya, legislators successfully passed a motion that was signed into law by President Uhuru Kenyatta, capping interest rates at 14%, aimed at shielding borrowers from spikes” (NTV Uganda, 2016)

“The number of South Sudanese refugees sheltering in neighboring countries has passed the 1 million mark. With this milestone, South Sudan joins Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia as countries which have produced more than a million refugees. Most of the recent arrivals have crossed into Uganda.
