Sudan: The TMC shown its true colours today!

The Transitional Military Council (TMC) with it renegade men that have been in-charge behind the scenes and with various leadership role under President Omar Al-Bashir. They have cleaned the streets, burned the villages and created the hurt of 3 decades in power. Today, they shown their true colours.

As the TMC uses the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) and Rapid Support Force (aka Janjaweed) on the sit-in demonstrations in Khartoum. There are variable data on the ground, but surely there are fatalities as the tear-gas, live-bullets and the skirmishes continues in patterns used in Darfur by the same military organization in the past.

There are reports of blocked hospitals, not allowing in medical personnel to treat the wounded. Neither are the any help for the deceased. The biggest number in Khartoum that has been reported is 14 dead and 100s wounded. Who knows at this point and to what extent the TMC will go into the sit-in with force, as they have support from United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. They are clearly intending to get another tyrant on the throne after the previous left building.

The TMC is sponsoring and ordering mass shooting into the crowds. As the Sudanese Professional Associations (SPA) have called out for more civil disobedience, roadblocks, closure of bridges and whatnot to protest the acts of the military government. International journalist are barred from the ground and is not allowed to leave their hotels as the armed guards are house arresting them. The Airport is also closed off. Therefore, the footage and reports are from the demonstrators on the ground itself.

The death toll of Khartoum will only rise, as that is the effect of this violence, the crime against the humanity and this acts of evil of the TMC. Who thinks this is the way to govern by intimidation and fear, by use of the gun and silence the opposition. That is what the TMC is actively doing.

The Deputy of the TMC, the well-known Warlord Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, the RSF and former Janjaweed General knows exactly what his forces are doing in the streets of Khartoum today. This is calculated and deadly force, excessive to control and dismantle the civilian dissidents. As the guns, the destruction of society in a way of getting his will. This man with his army will do whatever it takes to get the spoils. He has awaited this and surely will not surrender to a civilian authority, because that means his sins of the past plus the ones done know. Will put him courtside and he cannot handle that.

There are other in the TMC, but his the prominent one and the ones who uses his army to his advantage, as the civilians are dying. This army, this militia isn’t used to keep people safe, but keep the generals safe. They clearly have misunderstood their mandate. Alas, that is where the greed and power comes in.

The Deputy are viciously and continuously attacking the public, awaiting it to surrender. As they are prolonging the revolution started last year. He cannot accept the civilian negotiations and thinks with the support of foreign allies, which he can get away with it. However, the skulls, the souls that he has taken, will haunt him and his fellow comrades. They will all answer for their deaths. At one point or another.

Today, we are seeing the destruction, the massive assault on peaceful demonstrations at a scale we cannot find words to express. A bloodshed, a massive proof of the sinister acts of men. To the point of bloodbath. That is what is happening. This is the state sponsored violence leads too. Peace.

Sudan: The TMC and RSF should be held responsible for the massacre at the strike site (03.06.2019)

*The Transitional Military Council and the Rapid Support Forces should be held responsible for the massacre at the strike site.
The African Union and the UN Security Council should take resolutions for an immediate handover to a democratic civilian-led government.*

The Transitional Military Council and the Rapid Support Forces are fully responsible for the massacre at the strike site at the army headquarters which resulted, up to now, in the killing of more than 12 people and hundreds more are wounded of those who are striking. This is an ugly crime that should be accounted for. We ask the African Union, the UN Security Council, the Troika, the EU, and all peace loving members of the international community to take immediate resolutions for the Transitional Military Council to hand over power to a democratic civilian government led by the Forces of Freedom and Change and for the immediate resolution of war in Sudan.

We call upon Sudanese outside of Sudan to double their efforts in supporting the people of Sudan at this very critical time.

Statement by the Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, Ms. Gwi-Yeop Son, on the looting of humanitarian supplies in Kalma internally displaced persons (IDP) camp (30.05.2019)

Over the past month there were at least two other incidents of looting of humanitarian supplies in internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in Darfur.

GENEVA, Switzerland, May 30, 2019 – The Humanitarian Coordinator (HC) in Sudan, Gwi-Yeop Son, strongly condemns the attacks on humanitarian offices, assets and the looting of humanitarian supplies that took place on 28 May in Kalma internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in Nyala, South Darfur.

“I condemn these acts and call upon the responsible authorities to launch a swift investigation and bring those liable to account,” Ms. Son said.

Over the past month there were at least two other incidents of looting of humanitarian supplies in IDP camps in Darfur.

It is particularly concerning that these acts took place in IDP camps, which are considered humanitarian space where displaced people and humanitarian organisations must not be subjected to threats, harassment, attacks or harm.

“Attacks against aid workers violate international humanitarian law (IHL), and jeopardize the  provision of life-saving aid to people in need,” Ms. Son stated.

Kalma IDP camp is one of the largest in Darfur, hosting some 128,000 people, according to humanitarian partners.

The humanitarian community in Sudan denounces all forms of violence and calls upon all stakeholders to respect, facilitate and protect the delivery of humanintarian assistance in Sudan.

In 2019, the Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) partners aim to provide 4.4 million people in Sudan with humanitarian assistance.

Sudan: TMC and FCD talks is stalled [Because the TMC doesn’t want Civilian Authority]

As the Sudanese Revolution continues, the Transitional Military Council continues to hold all the cards, while not willing to give their power and their cards away. Even if the whole reason for the revolution sparked last December 2018 is still continuing strong. As the sit-in at the Military Headquarters continues and the FCD is having more power to demonstrate nationwide. Still, the TMC is keeping it close to their chest and not giving way.

The TMC continues to persist on another 3 year grace period after the fall of President Omar Al-Bashir. While keeping a close circle of former allies and relics of the previous leadership at bay. One member of the TMC, the former leader of the Rapid Support Force aka Janjaweed, the current VP of the TMC, Gen. Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo aka “Himaditi” have said to the professionals who are engaging in civil disobedience and strikes after the stalled talks will be dismissed. This is what has been said by him in a footage leaked online. Clearly, he lives by the paradigm of the previous leadership and shows why the TMC cannot be trusted.

Here is a piece of the newest Press Statement from the Sudanese Professional Authority:

Yesterday a new round of talks between the Forces of the Freedom and Change Declaration (FCD) and the Transitional Military Council (TMC) was held and we can say in all transparency that the Military Council is still placing the sovereign council cart before the revolution’s horse and is determined to undermine the FCD objectives. We, at SPA, believe that the cart must be pushed aside to let the revolution’s horse run its course to the finish line. TMC’s insistence on having a sovereign council with a military majority and headed by a military figure falls short of meeting the Revolution’s objectives. The FCD has clearly identified “civil authority” as an indispensable tool for change. Such civil authority cannot be attained by merely replacing an old military power with a new one. FCD’s intention is to have a system of government where all the structures of governance are purely civilian and a civilian majority representation at all levels, including the sovereign. Our armed forces shall undertake the noble and patriotic duty of safeguarding this system” (Sudanese Professional Association – Press Statement, 21.05.2019).

Surely, when someone after a stalled talks and not even trying to be sincere. As it seems the TMC want to set all the boundaries for the talks and also the possible in their terms. Only use the FCD for props for recognition internationally. Even if the sit-in and demonstrations are organized by them and hurting them directly. The TMC might have gotten a huge boost by the sudden donations from the Saudis, which was bountiful and others pledge to do the same. But they will be remembered for keeping a military junta alive, the relics and the remaining military command in-check and not listening to the people on the ground.

These is resilient and hard-working rebels. This is people who has stood and fought since the December last year. The Sudanese have fought the brave fight and continues. Even after the fall of Al-Bashir, his charges and his brother caught in jail too. Still, they prolong their revolution, because they know its the whole system and the people around him who made this government they had. That is why they are fighting the TMC who are filled with people, who was loyal to Al-Bashir into the bitter end. They was his henchmen and his Generals. These was the men who had no trouble getting rid of the enemies of the state, the ones who had the courage to stand-up against the NCP and their army. Certainly, the TMC knows this, but trying to act like a different breed.

When in reality, the different breed is who they are supposed to negotiate with to ensure a swift transition and an escape from the current predicament. The predicament of a prolonged military rule. Which is what the TMC is! Peace.

The Sudan – Impact of Early Warning Early Action (20.05.2019)

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is developing innovative early warning systems to anticipate risks and intervene at the right time.

ROME, Italy, May 20, 2019 –  Climate-driven hazards are increasing in intensity and frequency, with weather‑related crises now occurring nearly five times as often as 40 years ago. At the same time, needs are expanding and resources are limited. New tools and ways of thinking and acting are essential to reduce the impact of these disasters as effectively as possible.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is developing innovative early warning systems to anticipate risks and intervene at the right time. The right time is often early – before a crisis becomes a humanitarian disaster. FAO’s approach is shifting from a reactive mind-set to one focused on mitigation and prevention.

When the state of Kassala in eastern Sudan experienced a dry spell in 2017 and 2018, FAO took steps early to protect the livelihoods of vulnerable agropastoralists. This study analyses the outcomes of FAO’s Early Warning Early Action (EWEA) approach in the Sudan. They complement and reinforce earlier findings in EthiopiaKenya, and Somalia which demonstrated that early actions have a significant return on investment and are an effective way to address drought in Africa’s agropastoralist regions.
